I've always wondered what countries would side with the Anit-UN. You'd think that it'd be the countries who in this day and age, aren't part of it. There'd probably be allies of those, that would jump ship, too. So, whatever political beliefs and practices those seperate countries have now, they'd probably take with them after the SDF-1 crash. They'd probably be even more bitter, at the fact that alent tech, or over-technology won't be shared with them, giving them a severe disadvantage in country disputes. That seems likely why they would've started the conflict.

I wish Yamato would do hands more in the new Bandai posable style. the renewal VF-25 hands are hands down, some of the best hand designs out there. They're sturdy, posable, and don't have that gap at the wrist.

Should be moving sometime this year into a house (hopefully). Will finally have an extra room to display stuff in. Should be fun designing a custom display room.

Well, at worst, it'll be my tax return present to myself next year. Expecting a TON back next year, but until then, c'mon Yamato!!! Even a small re-release will suffice, if they're scared of not selling well.

I don't think it looks like Yune art at all. Yune's characters have the same pose in every single drawing he does, with the same style body. Those are different.

Just stopped in to see if the argument stopped going around in circles. Apparently, it hasn't. OK, aimlessly carry on.

Crazy price jacking!!!I guess this is why you hit the preorder as soon as it's up, even if you don't like it.Then you turn around and sell it for more and buy what you really want.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Having everything that large, and with older DVD transfers, you can sometimes see the flaws magnified in the transfer. Seems like you answered your own question, so he probably doesn't need to go through the hassle of screen shots.

They had the first two episodes for download free on iTunes, so I watched them then, and it is very promising. . I enjoyed watching them, and can't wait for further episodes.

It's not just "paper stuff". Recheck the differences between the two.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Jasonc replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I liked Mahoromatic. Great show. I just started watching Chrome Shelled Regios. I'm on the 10th episode, and while it has some good action and all, it's a bit confusing with the abilities the characters have. Are they given, born with them, granted, and the technology is a bit strange, but the story is overall, decent. I figured I'll stick through it, while rewatching Rurouni Kenshin for a third time. Has anyone watched an anime called First Squad? It takes place during WWII, and it was an impulse DVD I picked up. Story premise seems quite interesting about the third Reich creating monsters or something like that, and this Russian girl with psychic powers having to save the day. If you've seen it, is it good, bad, what're your quick thoughts on it (no spoilers, please). -
To answer your question, I find the number of shows that I like average out about the same in all those timeframes. I think another thing that hasn't been factored in, is the fact that the further back the list goes, the more difficult it is to criticize the shows with the same fresh pair of eyes that we do with new ones. Also, there were plenty of shows in the 80s and 90s that had the same gratuitous fan service stuff, but many of them have simply been lost in old media, or were never popular enough to make it outside Japan. Anime simply didn't have the gravity that it did over the last decade, and that is a big reason for that. I think a lot more of our tastes changing is a factor that you think, or want to give credence to. Our thinking is constantly changing, even if on a very minor scale. To deny that it hasn't changed that much is just denying the truth. Sure, core values, ethics, morals, etc. may still be intact, but I know for myself, there was a time when I found myself thinking the same that many older fans think. I had a hard time watching new anime, as I didn't like the CG, the character design, the story, etc. I had to simply realize that not only had my tastes changed a little, but so did the industry. It's kind of a double divide. The sooner I was able to come to terms with that, and focus on seeing these newer shows without the same "goggles" I saw anime with over 20 years ago, the sooner I realized that while anime in general maybe slightly different, it's not as different as many make it out to be. There's a lot of good stuff out there, we all know that, but if you don't see them, or experience them, it's just words. I watch tons of anime, lots of different genres, lots of different styles, and there's more out there that's great to choose from, than there probably ever was. While this is mostly related to anime in general, you can shrink it down to Macross specific. It's why I agree with the sentiment that it's we who have changed more than Macross.

Yeah, I'm not surprised ether. Maybe it was just way too soon after the initial series? Either way, I would've wanted the new series, but probably wouldn't have pushed too hard for it.

I want these just as much as the VF-4. Is that strange?

They were one of my options, and was checking them regularly. However, now that they are available, with CDjapan, and Nippon-Yasan, the option to pick the best price with best shipping methods are open. I went with CD Japan with the 1-3 day Fedex shipping. Can't really go wrong there.

If you buy one of the unassembled 1A kits, you can beat that head to a pulp, and then recreate the scene. Thinking of doing that, as I have an extra head, if this ever comes out.

At my time of preorder at CDJapan (about 10 minutes ago), it said their were 16 available. I've preordered, and paid for mine. Now there's 15 remaining.

Ahhh, Sketchbook A. Been looking for that too. Maybe my problem has been just looking at ebay only and not looking at Yahoo Japan too often. Anyways, if you just so happen to see it, let me know. It's a definite want.

I do have to agree, the engineering is cool and all. I've seen the blue one, so I'm kinda familiar with it. As long as you're happy with what you got for what you paid, then the amount is worth it. That's always the thing with niche toys. It looks cool with the fast packs. How many times have you transformed it?

Circling the toilet, round and round we go. I think the topic is flushed.

Why do so many people cite Wikipedia as 100% fact, when it's written by unauthorized people? Just because you quote Wikipedia doesn't mean that your argument is 100% all true. You might as well say that you're right because your neighbor said it was right. Wikipedia has been proven wrong many a time.

I'm sure they do. Those are semi easy to find. I've seen those in close to mint and in box for about $100-$150. Those are cool. I like those simply for the fact that they are erasers first, and very cool erasers.
