Holy crap!!! I've been trying my hardest to avoid this situation. I got my invoice for the VF-171EX, but debating if I should get it for myself, or give it up to someone else. As for the 29, I just can't get interested in that valk. I had the first release, and it just didn't do anything for me as far as spark my interest in it. I've been lucky with the 25F and S, so I'm camping at hlj and ami ami in hopes of the opening. I guess like many of you, I'm pot committed, and sticking this out.

All this scrambling really puts a sour taste in the mouth. As it stands, it's going to be a rough frenzy to get this one...and more difficult as further releases of Macross stuff come out from Bandai. My hope is that the last two releases spur Bandai to release more this time, and the short preorders are only on the retailers playing it safe.

I pm'ed those interested, but I don't know if we should keep them as smaller groups, in case there's a preorder limit. It seems like there are a couple others interested in doing this, so I'd suggest setting up another group of maybe 3 or 4 to work it out, and man the position for hlj. I'd hate to have to leave someone out because of preorder restrictions.

If anybody is interested in setting up a buddy system, let me know. I was thinking of getting two or 3 together, and we constantly watch hlj (or as much as possible). If/when it becomes available, put down an order for 2 or 3 in the group, to ensure that those that you teamed up with all get one. Likewise, if you are in the group, it'll ensure that you get one. I was thinking of doing this for hlj, and ami ami, should they put more up. If anybody wants in, I'll take the first two who pm me.

I think if they're going to do a release of the zero line, it wouldn't be a reissue. I think it'd be a new design, and one that could incorporate the highly coveted 0D. If done with the engineering we've seen in their recent redesigns, i.e. the VF-19, I'm game for all new SV-51 and VF-0 toys. As for 30th year celebration, I can see the Zero line getting some love, and I hope they do get some.

That's a great fix, even for the VF-25 renewals. Perhaps a very thin metal strip or metal inserts, will make that work perfectly.

What type of custom job were you thinkng of doing? I don't know about the difficulty, but they're built in a complex fashion, so you'll just need to remember where all the pieces go.

I have no clue. In any case though, at worst you have the regular resin that many recasters use, which accepts paint and it easy to build with. At best, it is the HDP (high density polyurethane) stuff that is much stronger, more flexible, but probably cost much more. What they really need to do, is make a kit like this of the Ghost X-9 from Macross Plus, in 1/60. Now, that'd be a definite buy for me.

I've been forcing myself to watch the ADV dub just so I can say I did (or say I took one for the team at least). I don't think it's better than the Robotech version, or dub, but at the same time, the Robotech dub was made for a different audience. I can watch that over the english dub of Macross t.v. series. I have to watch that in Japanese, it's just very bad.

I did find a guy willing to part with another VMF Minmay for about $600, so I'm probably going to bite on the deal. It's clean as well, so very happy. As for the plastic cover, I basically made my own of one. I put some vasoline on the head, then brushed on a rubber mold mix that I use for casting. After 4 hours, I took it off, and trimmed the excess. No problems with the hair now, and to apply the hair, I need only match up the rubber base to the hairline.

Yeah, hopefully, and thanks. Again, I don't want praise or anything like that, cause it really comes down to actually doing it if needed, but I would just hope someone would do it for me if push came to shove. I didn't even try for the YF-29, as I was prett over it after getting the first one, but this item is different. I'm setting aside $25/week for ths. That way, it'll be like it doesn't even see the bank money. I will say this, if they do put out this, then a Hikaru, I hope to have at least 3 total. 2 at least of this release, and 1 Hikaru. Afterall, Hikaru can only pilot one VF-4, right?

June would be totally OK if there weren't so many other things coming out same time. Still it wouldn't be Macross if it wasn't pressing the wallet.

Good luck, or I should say, I hope it came out alright. I imaging before doing that, I'm going to look on some online doll sites for those, and see if there's a tried and true methot to it. Since you're one of the only guys I know on here that has the VMF version as well, what outfit do you like better? I lean more towards the chinese dress version.
