My highest purchase was in the $800 range, so not there yet. As for the question of whether this is a successful line or not, I have to say that I think it's still too early to even guess. If they're just going off of clicks to buy, it's hard to say. Doing this open order deal is tricky, and any of us here won't know the answers, unless we work for Yamato in that dept., or know someone. Still, there's no money taken at this time, so who knows. A lot changes between wanting something in August, and time to pay in December. For most of us, if not all of us, the amount of success will show itself after the release. Can someone say, Unassembled Kits????

It's pretty, but not something I'd play up on a stage, unless I was in an anime band. At least Fukuyama seems to be supporting the product, and is playing one. That's a good sign. It's not just a wall display piece.

The book was released here in the states, and is available at most Barnes and Noble (at least it was when I got it). Second book is either coming, or is out, as I haven't kept up with it. The book fills in a lot of missing parts in the OVA, and goes into detail of the environment. I wish they'd made a series that corresponds more to the movie.

I was missing the movie CF version, and well, now I'm not. Had I not been so worried about them disappearing when they were first released, I would've waited. Nevertheless, great time to buy, and with the armor packs coming, even better.

That's about what mine came out to. Luckily, I was able to order mine elsewhere and save some money on the price of the item and shipping. At $37 away from $300 for a Bandai, I'd be questioning myself as well. As I'm still a bit skeptical on Bandai's quality for their Macross line, I'm not willing to pay high amounts unless I can sell them for at least my totals to get them. Luckily, with the last two releases, it's been a good buy. It seems like this will be one, too. Then again, for the last two, I didn't spend more than $160 for each. In any case, good luck. If it's a good buy for you definitely keep it. I'm hoping they make tornado pack for this one.

The price difference up front isn't that big a difference between hlj adn NY. It's the shipping where it really is different. Also, HLJ has a good relationship with Yamato, so if there's a broken part, or a piece missing, HLJ will either send you the part, or replace it. For something like this, there's no way I'd go to any other place other than HLJ.

I remember someone making these available a few years ago. I had to replace one 19 with them, and they worked great ever since. Replacements are good to have.

That episode with the guy who collected Battlestar Galactica, I felt bad for him. His wife was "I don't want that in the house." I would've been like "F!@# you!" That house is half his, if not more, since he seems to be the one making money. He should be able to put it where he wants. I'm glad my wife and I have a great understanding of this stuff. I can see why these guys often have to hide what they buy. Not a good thing in a relationship.

I just got this kit about 1.5 mos. ago, and it's 1/60 scale, which makes it (guessing) about 14 in. tall??? It's huge. Correction, it's about 12.25 in. tall. Still hella big at over a foot tall.

I'd love to get the first Minmay version. That's awesome. Tochiro, that is so sad to see that someone wouldn't properly package it for a long destination. I hope it was insured, and/or you get compensated for the poor job.

Looks good. The off white/grey came out well. As far as the pins are concerned, I had to take every pin, and divide them up into matching batches, then place them in the correct size categories. That's how I was able to get all mine to fit properly. It's kinda a pain that they aren't separated at first. -
I preordered 3 at ami ami, and a few at hl. That should cover my missing parts. Now I need some t.v. parts.

At UCLA, nobody was selling anything. Here, we can sell stuff, and buy stuff without penalties from UCLA. Looking forward to going. Was hoping we'd get the band to play some Macross songs, but Oh well. We're both registered, so we'll be there. I'll probably help to set up in the morning. -

It depends on what he's making it for. If it's for real props to make, it depends on who's wearing it. For a project to look like Hikaru, that would require a more anime body shape. -
That's a good question...There's a lot to take in on the 1/48 line. On one hand, you have a rarer piece, so that brings the value up, but the 1/48 line is pretty much dead. Don't know how much you paid for it, but I sold the Roy weathered some time ago, for $270, without strike parts. I'd guess maybe $300, but don't quote me on that, as I've never been into this line. Is there anything similar selling on ebay, or here currently, or even in the past?

I still can't figure out why they won't do one of those? I've wanted one ever since they did the 19 in 1/60 scale. Now they have a beautifully engineered 19 version, and they need to get that out.

Yessss!!! Time to update with some Super/Strike parts. As for the VE-1, I have one already, so if I can get an updated one, I'll be grateful. If not, I'll be OK with the one I have. What's strange is that the previous one should be the exact same as this one coming. The VE-1 original came with the updated leg connector latch already. It's like paying an extra $60 for the option parts.
