I bought a total of 3 1/48s during their time. two low vis v.1, and 1 Fokker weathered. All were sold afterward. I hope they don't return. 1/60 was a perfectly fine scale, and anything bigger is just extra money, IMO.

MacrossWorld Convention 2013 Information Thread

I'm here to help out if needed. -
I stopped transforming any Bandai toys a long time ago. It's scary to think that after one transformation, most likely there will be a scratch somewhere on it. They're great to look at, but not fun to play with, at all.
-
Awesome. Glad this is finally getting some love. I'll have some stuff over to you.
-
I don't know if this has been asked, but is there a way to get this on DVD, or better yet, BR?
-
I don't know if you, or anyone else is a book reader, but I am not. However, I have read the first novel of Yukikaze, and it's a great book. It goes into a lot more detail about the planet, the enemy, and the inside of each character. It's a very good book and worth the read. I think volume 2 is now translated into English, but I haven't looked.

Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann
Jasonc replied to Vi-RS's topic in Model kits
With Yamato once releasing just about every Valk, and even their 1/60 toy as an unassembled kit, I find ZERO need for this. Maybe if it looked a little better, I'd jump in for one, but it just doesn't have the charm. -
See, you learn sumptin' new e'ryday. Now, from taking the screenshot from the PS3, do you have to go on mwf to post it up from the PS3?
-
Yup, Isamu's YF-29 is awesome. I do like the original color scheme of the YF-30, but I also like the blue colored variant. It does look a bit awkward in fighter mode with the missile pod up. Not very aerodynamic, but I wouldn't display it like that anyways. Not to go off topic, but I did unlock the VB-6. Kills things extremely quick.

From others I've talked to outside these forums that live in Japan, Hong Kong, and other countries, yes, they are. That phenomenon isn't coming from over-saturation, or high prices. It has to do with no news. In just about every business, lack of news during a business acquisition, merger, or whatever this is, is usually never good news for the product if there's no updates. Maybe they don't know what they're going to do with the license, but that's something that should at least be mentioned. In any case, no updates makes anyone worry, not just the hardcore fans here.

I'm currently playing through the game a second time, and one thing I've noticed that bothers me about the transformation, is the tail wings, and how they just kinda stay attached by a small connection point. I don't know how accurate the game is, but if it is, the tail wings are oddly positioned in Battroid, and just stand out like a sore thumb. Front looks great, but the back of the battroid looks like a hot mess (insert Jack-in-the-Box Hot mess song here).

They should make a 1/60 Orguss. If this is the end for Macross toys, at least we can all admit, it was one helluva run. Still waiting for Graham's word back on this situation. It'd be nice if they (Arcadia) would give word on the status of the license. I think they're starting to lose faith from the fans for this franchise.

My one missing link. I didn't get one of these when the first versions came out, so I'm anxious to get it this time.

I just got the Mave last week. It is one loaded toy,,, loaded with awesomeness, and ordinance galore. I wish it was a larger scale, but I'm really glad I waited for this thing.

You may also want to watch Macross Plus, and if you want to get more of the major plot, Macross 7. 7 is a harder show to watch, but it does belong in the timeline. SDF:Macross and DYRL are supposedly in the same timeline, Zero is before that, but Plus takes place around 2040, 7 around 2045, Frontier in 2059.

Yeah, still looking for it. I haven't been looking as hard as I once was, simply due to the fact that I've been looking so long, I've just been a little burned out with looking. As of now, I'm also playing catchup to the new Mac Chronicles magazines. Kinokuniya is just now getting them in, but I'm a few short. If you do find a sketchbook A, let me know.

I'm sure a few people have ideas to make it work. I've been running a few of my own, but I've been a little lazy, and haven't pulled out my 11B. Can't wait to get the update. Quick question: will this be available for purchase on shapeways, and if so, are you going to hollow out the booster?
-
Looks great. I'll be getting one for sure.
-
Put me down for one. Looks awesome.
-
That's just a ridiculous price for that. Even at the 29000 JPY, that's more than the Gold book.
-
While I like the design, I'm not all that excited over the fact that they are putting out different models it seems every couple of months. I feel as though they (Bandai) is just throwing out all these new model designs just to sell them, not for functionality, or story. It takes a lot out of the beauty and importance of these new models. It's probably more of a way to just make money now. Well, that's my opinion.

I've put one together, and they are very time consuming, but I wouldn't say difficult. Then again, I have built quite a few different things, so maybe it's only easier because of that? In any case, you really need to make sure you do it right the first time. It's a pain if you have to dismantle any parts you put together. They aren't great for ful paint jobs, but if you're going to do one, make sure the white is the primary color and use any paint as just trim on less or non-moving parts.

Thanks, I'm a little flubbed, trying to find one to order, and I'm not going to pay over the top prices, like the blue costume Sheryl from a few years ago. It's a maybe $60-75 figure that is only sold for around $200, for no real reason. If that happens to this one, I'll be a bit angry, no doubt. Anyways, I appreciate the link. Thanks. I've never used them, but if they have some good stuff, I'll try them.

And won't acetone on that plastic eat it up a bit? I started making some custom decals for mine, but it will be awhile before it's ready and have them on.
