  1. The shoulder stock on the gun pod really reminds me of the Magpul UBR stock on my AR. The cockpit glass could be a little lighter, but overall, I'm thoroughly impressed.

    Macross figures

I have mine on hold at the hlj warehouse. Also have the Ranka on preorder as well as the petites.
  3. I totally missed those in all these years. Well, that totally means I did double the work when I made my Sheryl Guard custom in drk purple.
  4. Hungry for more pics!!!!
  5. If we keep having special guest and the numbers permit it, we may have to go back to two day events. For now though, this one day is poised to be a packed and busy day.
  6. Uh, boing!!!
  7. Just got my armor parts for the 171 in today. Love this set. The MDE bombs are awesome, and the new RMS missiles are huge. It's a very nice set. Very satisfied.
  8. Damn, I called it with my friends here. I guesstimated $350, and it'll be about that , little more with shipping. I've already been saving up, so I can afford 1 or 2.
  9. Hahaha, definitely won't be me.
  10. I like what you've done with it, and it's probably the easiest, and best looking way to get this done. In a hobby where aesthetics count A LOT, this is the fix. Great job. As for the weapon piece in the storyline, I don't think this as a piece intended to fly around in fighter. I think it was just some weapon that was a battroid/Gerwalk only attachment, designed for special ops that required it.
  11. Glad to hear the leg connector is not plastic. I wouldn't expect it to be though. Maybe it's just a different paint that gave it the different feel. In either case, I'm really starting to like mine. Not sure why. It's still an assault on the rods and cones in my eyeballs, but despite the Studio 54gasm that's going on with it, it does breathe celebration life into it.
  12. Hahaha, that's great to hear. I'm taking time to work on my cosplay, as I don't want to buy anything already made. I'm getting my lessons in clothing construction, but at least the costume isn't going to be difficult. I've officially entered the contest as well, so for a first attempt, this should be fun.
  13. I had this on my mind as a 3D printed project to do after a series of other projects, but I wanted the pieces to work as one unit, i.e. the hatches actually open to reveal te weapon system. That said, Mommar hit the nail on the head with the initial design flaws of doing a real one. The missiles, cannon, and whatever is on top, would probably have to be undersized, and the covers done significantly larger, to make it work properly. The engineering would be simple enough, but I don't know how it'd translate aesthetically. Maybe after I get the new version, I'll give it a try. The engineering side in my interest has been tipped off. I definitely want this set though, pending price.
  14. Awesome!!! If you plan on making this for the arcadia version as well, I definitely want one for that too. (Edit) On a sidenote, in looking at that sequence from Plus, there seems to be a lot of anime magic in there. A lot of weaponry poping out of spaces too small for it to fit into.

    Phantasm

I like all the pics. I like the first one. Definitely looks like the valk went into Studio 54, and came back to tell Macross all about it.
  16. Getting guests from Japan is not an easy task, and Tenjin is doing this with a lot of kindness and respect to all of us fans. We would like to, and shall, maintain a high level of respect for our guests as well. We want to give our guest a great representation of Macross fans in the United States in general, so that we may also bring other guests in the future. Having Tenjin attend maybe a glorious start to something we can continue. I believe books with Tenjin's art and his artbooks will be on sale at the convention, and they can also be found on the net. (If you can get the 2 Valkyries books, you won't be disappointed). He also has a wonderful artbook with illustrations of Macrss, Votoms, Gundam, and others. He also works on the Macross Chronicles magazines.
  17. The Zentraedi language in the movie is a created language, and therefore, needed subtitles in the movie. They were hard written into the animation I believe, so Hikuro did a great job of fixing that as best as possible.
  18. Those 3D printed hands don't look that great, IMO. Probably better than broken hands, but they just seem way too big for the stubby body.
  19. Yeah, it's a bummer. Almost creates demand and business for the guy selling it on ebay by not having it up, but I understand.
  20. Mine will be here tomorrow. While I'm not big on the colored canopy, it definitely has appeal as a great engineered toy, and a monument release. 30 years going strong is something. Also not big on the clear acrylic like stand, but I have the launch arm stand as well to replace it.
  21. I haven't touched mine, since doing a parts count, and admiring the resin used to make it. Waiting for the move to finally happen, when I'll have a big garage to do all this. Apartments don't work so well.
  22. I think the logo is going to be on them all.
  23. I'm going to try cosplay for the first time this year. While I do have a Hikaru outfit like JetSpectacular, I may go for something like this... Not as alto, but maybe just a student at Mihoshi Academy's Valkyrie pilot school. And, just maybe, I'll enter the contest. Should be easy to make, since my work shirts have the military press, and the shoulder tabs already built on them. I have the insignias, so I'll be sowing those, and I'll make the tie, find some pants, and alter what I need to.
