According to that chart, glad I decided to go with medium. Hair length made all the difference, and at 22.5" exactly, I should be alright.

Very nice, JET7. sithlord, that's a pretty insane setup. I love themed displays. Very suiting for an awesome character.

Thanks for the update. Are the Medium size, Hikaru helmets still going to be available by June? Also had a question about the screw holes. Will those have covers to hide them? I really can't wait to get this helmet.

My wife has an awesome one of Ishtar, but I don't think she's selling any of them.

Looks great so far. Were you just using sand paper, or those grit pastes that smooth things out? I have a couple of pieces for a kit I did awhile back, and just bought some of that grit paste stuff, and was hoping to try it out on F.U.D. material to see how well it'll take out the scale lines. Also have a purpose now, and I'm saving up for a Form 1 3D printer, which will do comparable work to the F.U.D. I should have it around October (hopefully). We'll see. Still doing research on the best printer for my needs, and material is important, as I'm sure you know. I will get one of these arm cannons eventually, as soon as I finally have cash (trips, bills, etc etc.)

They look quite nice. Congrats, and welcome to the boards as well.

I've made stuff wit the FUD material, and it's got a thick film of whatever they use when it's cured. This is a great tutorial. I usually use Simple Green as a nice anti grease agent, toothbrush, and so on. I didn't realize there were that many lines in that material, but not impossible to take out, as you seem to be doing very well. I'll be looking at this thread as well.

You know what would be awesome with this, is if they had an order form you could fill out and choose the grey, white, or blue color, and it came with all stickers/decals. I'd buy so many of them... Yes, I know, wishful thinking.

I thought about doing one, but I could never get enough people interested, to make it worthwhile. Even the Robotech community didn't seem that interested, or couldn't afford it, so I ended up scrapping the idea. Not that it couldn't be revisited, but it comes down to getting enough people interested.

I do have to agree, the whining about how M7 isn't for you for whatever reasons has been old for many years now. At this point, that's all it sounds like, no matter what else is said to go along with it. Just sayin'. Not to go completely off topic, but I'm still trying to figure out why so many people have this idea that because they saw an SDF in the message, there's an automatic conclusion that it'll be a retelling of the original. That SDF was used in the 30th anniversary imagery, and is just about on all the toys released since. It's become more of a symbol for the franchise as a whole. While it'd be cool to see a "Macross the First" type of new series (the VF-1 is probably the most popular selling of the Yamato/Arcadia toys), I'd rather have them do something totally new.

Looks great. I wish there was a way to make this actually close and open with just one piece. The joys of anime magic that I don't miss.

This 1/60 custom is going to be bigger than I thought!

I wonder if the design on the inside is hollowed out? -
No, I was able to get all of them to date. My wife and I are going to Japan in the beginning of June, so I hope I can find some posters I don't have out there.
-
Got these also. Did you get the Sheryl Nome one?
-
Just got these yesterday. These are some of my favorite posters. The shear beauty of them isn't expressed in these pics...

This went from cool pics to dramatic overdrive in a matter of minutes. Can we start breaking out popcorn, or are the credits already rolling?

This is the same that was done on the 1/60 Zentraedi figure. It works very well. My Zentran still has tight joints. -

Any updates on this awesome project? -
I wouldn't use this to be considered a change in trend. Frontier had plenty of this "manservice", as you call it. Actually, many series have it, and it's been around for quite sometime. As Macross is geared for both boys and girls, I doubt they'd tip the balance to start drawing in one, and alienating another

You are very correct. I think a lot of people, somewhere in the middle of the series, seem to stop paying attention to it, or maybe their patience grows thin for the long series. Personally, I've watched through this 4 times, and just started a week ago to watch it again. From my own observations of the series, every one of the main characters goes through a sort of transformation in this same sense. Mylene goes through it as well. The entire band goes through it as a whole, as even Gamlin does. There's a lot of character development and changes to them as the series progresses. Despite it being catered to a younger audience, between the character depth and a deeper plot beneath the exterior, I rather enjoy the series. Would I expect this new series to be just like 7, absolutely not. However, I do expect them to continue with quality in the character they develop. That seems to be a great staple in the Macross franchise that I find, keeps me interested in each series, give or take. Next up would be great valk designs. That wasn't always the case, but maybe maturity has reversed the level of importance for me.

Thanks. It wasn't anything that a little bit of time and caution won't fix. I'm up and about now, so I'm getting back to normal. Still working on the gun piece, and thinking of how I can get certain pieces to move properly. This maybe the easiest part to work on, so I'm thinking of using those steel pins that Yamato used in their VF-1 v.2s. Those should be easy to find in hobby stores and/or online. Also bought some earth magnets for when I start putting some pieces together, just so that I have options.
-
Thanks, guys. OK, that's not too far off.
-
That would hamper the joy of an item. I have both, and the VF-4 is still in a class all it's own. Of course, this is just my opinion. Individual results may vary.

While I do like the engineering that went into the 19, and all the accessories, it's still an updated version, so already, my excitement level is limited. However, the VF-4 was something I had waited forever for, and the engineering is completely new, and it is simply amazing how it doesn't look like it's supposed to transform, and yet does. I hope Arcadia re-releases that, but gets the FB2012 license. In hindsight, I wonder if that's why Yamato didn't get the FB license, cause they were already strapped for cash? Nevertheless, Arcadia, bring it back.
