Mine came in, but I'm gonna need a new face cover for the YF-25. I'll try to get some pics up, but it's gonna need a bit of cleanup. The good thing, is that it did come with the parts for the 1X++.

Will do. I'll be pulling out the jeweler files and the dremel to do what I can with it. Funny though, the sprue (sp?) is super thick. I'll need to file them off of it. It's good stuff.

OK, today I got the head lasers in the black steel, and I must say, I'm very impressed. They are really sturdy, and aside from needing a bit of polishing to clean off some of the rough finish, they are in really good detail. They came out better than I thought. Anyways, I blew this picture up quite a bit, so it doesn't look as good as it really is, but like I said, a little polishing, and it'll be even better.

I agree. That's why I wanted to see it from a profile view. It does bubble out a bit too much for me, but it's still a better look than original. It does take a bit of work to make the other one fit correctly, but once done, it looks like it's supposed to. I used a handheld dremel myself for the fitting. Not the funnest thing to do, as it took quite some time to finish, but it works.

Yeah, that works. Sorry, spending my days working 10 hrs/day and between that and sleep, trying to pack for moving. Yeah, black steel is fine. I'll order it as soon as it's up.

Sorry, haven't put up pics of my package yet. Got it, but haven't really looked at all the pieces due to moving. Will do it probably tomorrow.

Eventually I will. I Just need to finish up a few things with it, and then do a test print. I may do the parts for it in separate colors, since the lance itself can be done in white. I haven't started on the head, but I have enough pics of it to get it right. On a downer, I didn't get the package of both of them, and unfortunately, the VF-1 kit was for the 1/72 kit. The seller mislabeled it, so that fell through. Well, off to the races again to get the right set for that.

I got offered the curved visor with replacement parts for an extra $45. While I've already done this, The curved piece only cost $19 (from what I remember). I still want to try the other parts, and I totally forgot to get other visor brands to see if there are any that fit better, or look better overall.

I use the Micro Mark paper too, and it works great. Pretty much have seen all the best advice here already. I was going to suggest vector format, as it will allow you to enlarge and shrink the images too, but in a cram, you can just use what you got. I've made decals using Photoshop CS2, and they came out great. Before you start top coating your decals, I'd practice on a blank sheet that you can cut up. The goal is to make the decal waterproof to hold up during the release time, but too much can make them thick and not look too good on it's final destination.

Originally, I bought an extra set of Armor and fast pack parts when I was in Tokyo, as I only spent around $30 for each set. I was planning to use those, and actually CAD designed the lance. However, since this is out, and it's going to be on its way, I only need to detail up the parts I have now for the extra YF-25 I currently have. I'm a bit curious to see how that left knee piece from the armor parts connects, as with the set, it had to attach to the rest of the armor. In any case, I'm looking at the Paladin from the MtR books, so I do plan to have the armor look a little metallic to simulate knight's armor. The build will take some time, but I will get it done. All my time is devoted to moving right now, so not really a lot of time after work.

Maybe someone who's kept up with these can tell me, was the Paladin set sold at this year's festival only for the DX, or was there also a set for the model kit?

Congrats, and welcome to collecting Macross stuff. Doesn't matter if you have it all, or just a couple. Just as long as you're having fun. To be honest, many times, it's the smaller, more creative displays I like over sheer quantity. That's just me, but I like what you got. Way to start off, and a great representation of the various eras.

What exactly did you do to it? Was there anything done to the aesthetics of it, or is it just stripping it and painting it? Looks great so far. Can't wait to see your finished work.
