  1. Very nice, indeed. Can't wait to see the decals. They look great.
  2. This news sounds exceptionally brutal. The actual materials are a loss, but the work, and time put into that stuff is something you can't get back unless the stuff did. I've been there before, so I do emphasize with you. I hope you are able to get everything caught up, and get rolling again... not just on this, but everything else. Good luck, my friend.
  3. Thanks for putting up these steps. Always a good thing to keep around as a backup for new and seasoned hobbyists. As for resin, I do work with it, and while not on large scales, I've always done it in an open garage with plenty of air coming in and out. masks are good, but the a respirator is much better. The main point is that you can use this stuff, and actually not have to worry so much about this stuff IF you are just mindful. That's really all it takes. Exo, thanks for that video. I hadn't seen that one before, and I was blown away at his one day build, and the detail.
  4. Mine has been shipped. Got mine through Solaris, but the price wasn't too bad.
  5. Mike, put me down for the decals here, and for the Monster decals. Thanks.
  6. Thanks, although, I'm still waiting on the decals so that I can apply the graphics properly and in the right locations. I have another bubble visor coming soon, so I'll do some work on that. Hopefully, with not as much trouble as before. I'm still a little wary on getting all the parts. I do need the decals that were part of the helmet. I'll be a happy customer again once those come in.
  7. OK, got the parts, now just waiting on the decals (I ordered mine raw so that I can paint the black sections and clean it right. Hope they don't forget about those.
  8. OK, so I FINALLY got a reply with a tracking number, and so, the wait begins to see what will arrive. I asked for mine with the decals and the top visor non painted, so we'll see how it comes out. If all is well, I can retract my issues. I have no clue why it took so long, but in any case, I hope the rest of you guys get your stuff resolved is there is anything to resolve. I'll have a detail of things when they arrive.
  9. Very nice. It came out very well. I so need to get one of these.
  10. That would definitely suck to see this (AGAIN) go the way of the dodo. If this is the second time, one has to wonder why they keep going back to this, only to pull back. I feel like a fish on a line here with this.
  11. Awesome, my friend.
  12. You need decal paper with white backing if you're going to do the white decals, in which case, you'd need to put a black line around them so you know where they're at. Other than that, it's not difficult to do. I'd do them for a few of you if I was able to get enough time on the laser jet printer at work, but eventually, I'll be hooking up my 9 color printer for some good decal stuff. I'm trying to bring a few more people to this. How many more do we need?
  13. I was actually kinda bummed out, cause I was going to buy a few other helmets, not Macross related, but with this type of service, and not being able to follow on their word (which should mean everything), I'm going to pass on the other few. It ends up being their loss, and while I still hope it's just some thing where they're busy (shipping everyone's stuff out), I'll probably stay away from any of their product. It does make me wonder if they were actually going to send this stuff, since they kept trying to sell me on getting the bubble face shield and all that. I hate to say it, but I think they would've taken that money and ran with it.
  14. Cool. Can't wait.
  15. Any pics of the build?
  16. OK, so it appears I've been screwed over by Masei helmets. They never sent the repair parts for my helmet, and kept extending the time. Now, they will not respond to my emails. Kinda sucks, cause I had a specific use for it, but yeah, guess between the botched first shipping, the double accounts here, the fluffed advertising they've done, and now deciding to not be people of their word, I'm starting to regret buying it. I'd rather not give business to a company that can't follow their word. I know there are a few others who feel the same. It's just sad. Well, that's my rant. I just pulled a few potential buyers from them, so I guess it all balances out in the end. I'll probably continue to sway a few more in the coming days, so that's that. If there's any revisions, I'll respond later. Anyways, that's my rant.
  17. If anyone else has a double, or multiple order the want to lighten, I'll take your other order. Please PM me. Sorry, had to put that here just in case.
  18. There's only a couple toys I've ever ordered doubles of. This, will be one of them. While I could nitpick at some of the questionable design choices here, I'm not. I know nothing of this company, and the fact that they are taking a chance on this (let's face it, we were all holding out a mighty long time for one of the two big Macross toy lines to do something) says a lot. Plus, the price point isn't as bad, considering it will probably be sold in limited quantity, and may end up being one of those "I can't find this thing anymore" toys that people later on pay through the nose for. I love the design, and the fact that I've been able to get a VF-4, and now possibly a VF-2SS means a lot to me as a fan of those.
  19. If you can get more orders for them, please let me know.
  20. Message sent. Hopefully we can work it out.
  21. I agree with that route for the missiles. The Chronicles doesn't show it as being able to fire full sized HMMs from a bay like that.
  22. The painting could be done on an assembly line type of deal. I could do that, but here's the problem... The WSF is not too friendly for that glossy look, and it is a tedious job getting the sponge like properties of it nice and clear. The two ways to combat this is 1) putty evey part with a light, easy sandable putty. Testors is good for this, and can fix the micro holes. 2)Mr. Surface drybrushed on and then sanded (thanks to Exo for this). The drawback to this, from my own experience as well, is that it's expensive stuff, and to do a lot of pieces would be costly. 3) instead of doing all this, you take it to someone with a higher res 3D printer, and have them do it. Then make recast of the parts in the proper colors, of which I know a few people who could do this, myself included. While the last option is probably the best, it'd be even better if you can recast them yourself. It is your project, and you should reap the reward for it. Recasting, while it'd make it more toy like with color, would require some other person's hand in it.
  23. Yeah, I missed this, too. Asked and it was too late. Have the money, and looking at other things to spend it on out of frustration for missing it.
  24. Nice!!! Great design and engineering. I'll probably order mine in WSF, then thin layer it with putty to smooth out the slightly sponge like texture. This is going to be a fun kit to work on.
