I was going to say hlj.com, but if that's not an option, maybe Nippon Yasan will put it back up for pre-order, but they are more expensive in the front end. I think they may let you declare your own value, but don't quote me on that. I've never had to do that.

Sorry for the delays. I've begun work on recasting the 1/72 drones. I did have to redo 2 of the molds, but they are working great now. The wing will start recasting tomorrow once I put the fixes on that. I did manage to get a trial size of the onyx resin, which cures in a nice black color, so the camera part will not need to be painted, save for details. 1/60 parts are starting as well, but since I do need to paint just about every one of these, it's going to be awhile with those. So far, the results are good.

Looks great. Awesome work. Can't wait to get one of these.
-
Got my pre-order in late, but got it in. I'll party with the new arrival in December.
-
At the new price, I can afford another 2, and then have a group, with one being the FB2012. Until we find out more about the licensing of that and what the possibilities are (or aren't), I'll hold off doing any custom work right away.

Macross World Convention 2015 (October 17, 2015)

That was Operator 7G here. Very good singer, very good friend. Great guy all around. Please do. We have a staff member who takes official pics, and some of those will make the rounds eventually as well, but anyone who took pics is more than welcome to share them here. -
Yes, there are a couple small bubble areas. It's going to happen in some pieces in some parts. Especially the large area parts like this. If I get them again in the same place, I'm gonna put another hole in the top of the resin to relieve, but I don't think it'd help. They've been a bit random on where they pop up. I'm trying to roll the resin to coat all the mold. I made another one, but there was one hole in that one. As I said, they're going to pop up. Exactly. I the early days of recasting, I used to get many kits that I'd buy, and they'd be full of parts with bubbles and would need filling. It can be filled with putty. I'm not going to stop trying to perfect them, but these are pretty easy fixes. The wing I did today has a better look, so I'm happy with that one.

Ok, here's some of the 1/60 scale. The parts are looking great, but the wing is going to need a bit of cleanup. At least it's mostly relegated to the sides of the wing.hope it looks alright for you all.

Macross World Convention 2015 (October 17, 2015)

I wanted to thank everyone who had the opportunity to come out and attend the event. The staff I had the opportunity to work with this year were great and did a fantastic job. To all the people that stepped up for displays (Norge) and the others, the food, and the maid cafe were a tremendous help. To all our guests that came out for all the panels: Kyle Dunn, Run Sasaki, David Keith Riddick, Victor Garcia, Les Claypool III, Dorothy Fahn, Tom and John Fahn, Mari Iijima, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to wow us with your talents, your knowledge, and your memories of the things we were there to celebrate. Thanks to those that came in cosplay and those who participated in the cosplay/talent contest. The vendors showed up in force with many great items. Thank you Greg and Bee for being great guys to work with. It was a definitely worth the work, stress, and whatever kept us up late at night to get done. This year was a year I got to meet a lot of new fans and friends. From those on my Macross Fans US Facebook group, to just people I've never met. I'll get some of my pictures together (the ones I actually had time to take) Thanks for being great, friendly, and awesome fans. You all rock. -
They're coming. I'm leaving the other parts in the tank over night, so I'll have some tomorrow.
-
Work began again today, and I'm working on the molds for the 1/60. So far, only did one intake and the tail fin section, an where I anticipated bubbles was fixed, and they came out perfect. Very happy so far. Going to try the other side of the intake, and the small pieces to see how they fair.
-
Looks damn good. I'm really liking the tail fin swivel up for runway ground clearance. Are the fast packs going to be designed to come on and off of the kit?
-
Thanks guys. Parts are coming out. I'm going to start on the 1/60 test run today. Knowing what I learned from the 1/72 parts, I'm automatically going to put air ports in the same places. Hopefully the next two days will come up with some great results. I will not be doing any recasting this weekend due to MW con. However, I hope to have the decals up soon as well. Working on those. With the size of the kit, they won't have very many decals, but for those that want to put them where they can, I'll probably add some no step decals, and some standard extras for the sake of adding some value to them. Maybe if you don't need any extras, they'll be there for something else.
-
Definitely not, LOL Here are a few shots of good recasts. They're Pretty good for the complexity in them, but like any kit, they're gonna need work by the builder. Good thing is, the resin is quite solid. I'm happy about that. testing out some other parts now. I'll need to do th 1:72 wing AGAIN!!! Going to do to that what I did with the 1/60, as that seemed to work. In the meantime, I'm moving onto tweaking the 1:60 molds and checking for places where air bubbles will get trapped.
-
It's a set 1:1 ratio. Changing any of it leaves a crippling mess to a mold that has to be redone.
-
I'll get some up tonight. I have 4 molds ready, so the pieces I put up will be good to go, but a little unrefined until I get some like cleanup done. It's too hot today, so I tried to pour some resin, and it set a bit too fast. I'm gonna put some in the tank tonight when it cools off, as well as tomorrow, as I continue to tweak the molds to get no air pockets.
-
Very true, but since I ordered them in November of last year, I've been putting away a bit of money from each paycheck, and after the extra Sheryl, will still be in the hole about $150. My fault for over spending on other Macross items, like the T Rex VF-19/25 fast packs, and a ton of other things. Nevertheless, that one will cut down the price I spent, and will be happy with just that. And pics will come as soon as I can get them.
-
Once the other project is done and out, we can work on this one. Hopefully with the dive into recasting, we can work on the best ways to design this for easy recasting. I have all the dyes I would need, and for this, will probably need to use the next step up in resin, a TASC resin, for moving parts.
-
Thanks. My wife thought that at first, but they grew on her, and now she's excited to see them when they show up. The total for Ranka and Sheryl with all outfits was (if I remember) 191,200 yen, which is about $1500. I was saving up since I pre-ordered, so the money is just waiting to be paid. I also had my wife order me an extra Sheryl, which I will sell after the release. Figure they are about $600 ish, and I can probably get about $1200 for that one.
-
If I get involved in this kit, for color recasting, this would be an entirely different beast for painting, with lots of moving parts and such. It would need clean color casting for many parts, and if it were to be painted, the resin would need to match the paint color in order to not mess up the parts that rub, if that happened. I'd also limit the painting on this, as it would require a lot more work to do, and the cost of that would go up as well. However, I'm getting ahead of myself here. Either way, I definitely want a kit of it, especially if it has the option to attach/detach the fast packs.
-
These are the 1/72 scale parts, so these are getting worked on, and soon will be sorted out for delivery, At the same time, 1/60 kits are going to be worked on, but obviously at a slower pace, as most preferred them painted.
-
OK. As you can see in this picture, there are places where the parts aren't getting enough resin. These are going to be fixed via pin holes in the mold cover, which will push the air out by the heavier resin.the color in this picture is a little lighter than they really are.
-
If they come out clean enough, they will be coated with a good clear primer and clear coat. It really depends on the result of clean up. If I need to do extra work on the clean up, I'll probably do a full paint on them with color, and the kite decals. Either way, they're going to get a paint treatment treatment. Whatever the best result is, that's what it will be.

I know this thread has been sleepy lately, but anyone order the Volks Dolfie Dream Sheryl and Ranka? I just got my payment information from them today. They will ship end of October.
-
Testing continues. There are some that have some air traps in them, and so I am now putting smaller vent holes for the air to escape from those areas. Orange color is pretty decent and think it should be a good orange. I may put a bit more red in it. I have a few pieces in the tank now, and will take pictures after my errands tonight.
