  1. You're welcome. Again, sorry for any sort of delays. I love the progress now, but these little setbacks are to be expected, especially when color casting, making clear parts, and trying to do it amidst bad weather and other unforseen problems. I will say, I'm very happy with the new part. It only requires some smoothing of the scale lines and some good primer, but I should be pounding the kits out after this is the only part left.
  2. Hey guys, sorry for the delay in updates. Between being sick and all the holidays, I've been recasting parts as much as I can for the 1/72 kit, and it's just about done. As of a few days ago, I just got the new wing section for the kit, so now I will be spending some time cleaning it up. It looks pretty clean right out of the box, but it does have plenty of scale lines to clean up, and is gonna take some time to clean up, primer, and get it ready for new mold. Aside from that, parts are still coming out. Just about done with the1/72 guys. It's a lot of work, and I wish I had more space to work, but it's getting there.
  3. Oddly, this made me cheer a bit, and not in a way that agrees with this comment.
  4. I'm really loving this story. I also like the little extras you throw in there, such as the merchandise that drops on the floor. Good additions. I can't wait to see where all this goes.
  5. In reading all that, it seems you are the one who took it personally. As an outsider in that part of the conversation and having no dog in that fight, this statement clearly shows you took it personally enough to respond with the default "Don't take it personally..." comment. He was clearly just pointing something out. Calm down, man, It's a cartoon ffs. In other news, I've seen it 4 times. 3x by myself, once with my wife. She enjoys it, although she does say it's different. Not bad, just different. I happen to be really happy with it. There are a few negatives that may just be due to it being unfinished, but they aren't things that detract from the story. They're more technical aspects of it. That said, I actually really like all the music in it, but especially Ikenai Borderline. It's got a mid 90s ska sound to it, with a bit of an update. It reminds me quite a bit of a band called Save Ferris that retired a number of years ago. They had a few upbeat ska tunes that hit this type of catchy draw. If people are so against idol music here, that may be one song you can at least enjoy more. If not, to each their own. It's the least "idol" song I've heard since before Frontier (where Zero had hardly anything anyways).
  6. Definitely not speaking for me on this one. I saw SDF Macross in 1984, and have, for the most part, been a fan ever since. It's those elements that make it what it is, and what ties every series, OVA, and movie together. I know nostalgia has a lot to do with this, but I think a lot of it is just the aging fans. Most who fans who give up trying to adapt to newer anime styles (this is in general) seem to have a hard time liking newer titles as the tides shift and change. I had to struggle with that a few years ago myself, but in settling things and actually seeing it for what it is, I have no problems with it. As for my own thoughts on this first episode of Delta, I'm really excited about it. There were some short areas where the picture quality seemed to need more clean up, but overall, it seems to be on par for a good series. I'm interested to see how the episodes will change, but so far, it's a fast ride with lots to look forward to. There's no point in me trying to compare it to the original Macross or anything after that. They've all had their own evolution process, and each one has been very different from he previous. I'm happy to go on this journey once again.
  7. I have a feeling that if the military sci-fi Macross fans don't like this, it's going to do well for new fans, maybe in the same way Frontier did, but perhaps not in that scale. I'm looking forward to it, even if I can't watch it right away due to being at a concert later tonight.
  8. My wife and I both buy cels, and I don't see myself selling them. My reasoning behind that, is that they are art works. Whether or not it's specifically Macross or not, each one of these original cels are one of a kind, and at some point, I'd like to frame a number of them. As far as collecting in general, I may, at some point, start selling stuff off, but money is never an issue when it comes to buying hobby stuff. Not in the fact that I'm rich by any means, it's just that I buy when I can, not when I can't. If it gets to be a problem where I can't, I simply pass. Stuff comes up all the time that I'd like to get, so it's just a matter of self-control and knowing the limits. The good thing is, at least this stuff would sell well if it needed to be sold.
  9. Got mine on Monday. Love it. Haven't transformed it yet, but I'll probably do that today. I did manage to take it out, and it's solid, sturdy, and very sleek, compared to the previous version.
  10. I never got mine for the monster or this, and didn't get any messages. Are they still available?
  11. This comment is a bit baffling. I need not say any more about this. Thanks for putting up the podcast. I'm excited to see it.I still walk into these not expecting what I saw prior. Macross as a franchise has always had a way of diversifying the plot, the characters, and many other technical aspects of it that keep it different.
  12. Mine's on the way as well. Haven't paid attention to the tracking, but it's flying in soon. Off topic, I'm more excited about the Eotech Red dot and magnification set coming in. I bought the shapeways balls for the socket just in case.
  13. working with 3D printed materials is a very tough challenge. If it's thick, no problem, but when one starts getting into 1/72 scale, things can get a little tricky. The 1/60 had issues as well, but has since been fixed and seems OK, as it was in a fixable part. This one, not so much. I know the trials from before, so fixing this will be no problem, AND, I'll have a better mold to use. I know most of you have been patient, and for that, I thank you very much. I hope you all trust me, when I say that I'm putting a lot of extra time when I can, into getting these done. A busy job isn't the best thing for projects like this, nor is the time of year. Nevertheless, I'm dedicated to getting it done, and shall do so.
  14. I'm gonna make them all as good as can be. Not just the first, but all of those. Now, that said, I'm gonna be on hold a bit with recasting the large wings for several days, as the prototype piece broke, and I need to get another made for recast. I'm still working on all the other pieces, but there will be some on hold for now. The mold, using the moldstar 15, is a good mold, but a bit soft, and with the vigors of a one piece such as it is, the mold is not holding up to good standards. I have he Moldstar 30 still, which is much better, but until I get a new one, I wouldn't feel comfortable fixing this one to recast. It'd take awhile to fix to recast, and even then, it probably won't hold up for recasting two sides. I'm gonna see about getting one ASAP. As far as the other parts though, I'm on a roll. They're coming out as can be expected.
  15. Awesome. Your work never ceases to amaze me.
  16. Alright. I have a long weekend coming up, so I'm hoping to have 6 of these completed after monday's end. I know it's taking time, but I really don't want to send out parts that need way too much work. Speaking of, the mold of the 1/72 wing is starting to wear out already due to many recasts that didn't come out up to par. I'll be redoing that over the weekend most likely, so it'll be a minor hiccup in the chain. Other than that, other parts are still good and working fine. I should have them rolling out well. With the time change, I have less time to work when I get home, so that's one issue. Weather has been a bit of an issue as well, having to wait much longer for curing, but it doesn't have a toll on quality. Hope you guys are holding out OK. It's a one man operation, so it's a lot of work. I'll take a picture of the boxes that are going out. They are being put in cardboard boxes and bubble wrapped inside for secure hold in transit. Also, after I send them out, if you get one that has a part that is broken or any issues that I missed, send me a message, and I'll do what I can to rectify it. PMs will start going out this weekend for items sent out.

    Macross figures

That's cool you have an extensive Ranka collection. I have some figures of her, but I collect Sheryl figures. Here's a few of them... Hmmm, strange I tried to put up the image, but no luck. I'll try this again later....
  18. I've got mine as well. It looks great. I was able to score the actual Frameout version, so I'm gonna do a comparison of the two. This one is a solid design though. I think I prefer it better. I really need to get the rest of the parts though. Not the Fast pack parts. I know those will be a lot of work, but the verniers on the nose, the fat wings, the shortene tail fins, etc.
  19. It's not an either/or type of situation. One needs both in an effective story that keeps one interested. If all one wanted to do is tell a story, then no, you don't need dialogue, but one should tell that story quickly and be done with it. If you want to tell a story and get a reader invested in the characters and feel what they are going through, thinking, and get to know them, dialogue and interaction of it is crucial. I'm not saying write a script, or have dialogue where it may not be necessary either. One simply need find a great pacing for both that gives a great balance between the narrative and the dialogue. Like a comedian, the timing of the punchline is everything.
  20. I did get a chance to read it, and I do agree with Gubaba, it needs dialogue. Without the story of the characters being told in their words to supplement what you're writing, it makes the characters wooden and without any emotion. Don't let the story drive you. You drive the story. If you are going to blow off dialogue until there's something interesting to say, then you dictate a way to make it interesting. Script various interactions of this in your head, with different possibilities of things happening, and what you would say in those. That may help give some life in it. Sorry if I haven't posted in here at all. I used to do a lot of writing, but it was never fanfic, and thus, the reason why I never posted in here. Hope that helps at least a little.
  21. Do you have any pictures for reference? I don't know if these are in the Valkyrie files or not, but they seem interesting.
  22. . That is to be expected. Dealing with 3D printed parts of different materials is a challenge. I know this is a kit, but as I'm sure you know, in most good design, it's better to over reinforce, than to under, as it's like an insurance policy. The thickness of materials is really going to dictate the final material going into a recast, if that is the final plan. Overall though, this is a definite winner. I can't wait to see what the final product is going to look like.
  23. NIIIIIICCCCCCCEEEEE!!!!!!
  24. Sure, why not. Unfortunately, the last one, for some reason grew at an uncommon angle, and the more the dentist tried to pull, the more anchored it got. It was a strange deal, and I metabolize the numbing stuff really fast, so because he spent over 40 minutes pulling and yanking on that last tooth, my jaw was sore and couldn't open my mouth properly for a couple days. Just now getting to the point where I can eat a regular sandwich without opening up to eat in pain. Still swollen though, but that's just a formality. Norco does work wonders, but I've been back at work.
