  1. Yeah, too much reading there. You lost me after a couple lines in the first post. Sorry, but if you want to put it in a fanfic and all, I'd encourage you to do that. Other than that, I don't really have any interest in it. I wish you the best though. I know there's quite a few that may find a fanfic of it quite entertaining and fun. Macross is about Variable fighters to me though, not tanks. Watch Southern Cross if you haven't. I know they could use more fans.
  2. Thanks. I go there often, and sadly, didn't even think to look for the character stuff there. I'll check that out. That's actually a pretty good image. I'm thinking this might be a good reference for the clothing and the sort. I'm gathering it all now so I can print it and store it (as well as keep it in a photo folder on my computer). Thanks for the image and the offer for the scan. I may have that, so if I can find it, you won't need to do that. If I can't, I'll pm you. Thanks for the offer. If I am able to get one of those, I'd probably use that as a base to work off of as far as reference in dimentions in a 3D form. That's also one of the options. the only problem I see with that, is that this well be a resin kit, and resin doesn't like to hold to well like that. Now, there are options where some resins act like ABS, and those might be possible, but if it turns out that this comes out like I want, using that resin would make the price go up (although, it'd be a great gimmick to have optional arm poses). LOL, well, if the old t.v. version Britai is still not vaporware, this will be the optional version. I wonder if they'd make a DYRL version after? Sometimes I wonder if I'm trapped into some thought pattern as some of those guys across the ocean. This happened right after I used CAD to design the YF-25 Prophecy Paladin lance, I then see that the kit was announced to be sold at Wonderfest that upcoming year. Now, if only I could start work again on the 1/60 VA-3 and get word that that is coming out later this year.
  3. Absolutely nothing needs to be redeemed there, nor in any other part IMO. Delta does seem to be taking everything Macross has always been, and adding what's popular now to it (even if Satelight/Kawamori are moving off of their own trend). I've kept a very open and free flowing mind towards the trends in anime, so I'm happy to see what I've been watching lately being integrated into this series, along with what I've always liked in anime. I'm really getting a best of both worlds here, even if there are issues that I particularly don't like as of now in the series. I must agree here though, I cannot complain about Makina, Mikumo, Kaname, Rei, or Freyja, and of course, Mirage. I'm sure as the episodes progress, we'll get to be invested in each character more or less.
  4. That's why they are pretty much the only ones I have. I've never been into them as well. I'm usually an "official" book collector, but some of this stuff is too cool, and too hard to resist as you indicated. I was really excited to get the SDF books that were a more recent release, the ones you posted above. It's a part of the Macross-verse that's unexplored, so I like that someone wanted to fill it in with their own designs. Interesting stuff.
  5. Hi all. I've been trying to find a great deal of line art for the DYRL version of Britai. I'm in a very early prep stage of having a figure made of him, and right now, just need line art. This project is not going to be worked on for quite sometime, as I have one project I'm currently doing, but if anyone can help, it'd greatly be appreciated. I know there is some in basic Google search, which I'm gathering, but if anyone has some of the full figure, close ups of the face, and any other things like dynamic poses or the sort, that'd be great. Not sure if he'll be posable or not, but the option is still there, and if so, being that his uniform has most of him covered up, it may be limited in what I do for that. Still working out if I want to make it posable or static, but being that he mostly just stands in the show with minimal arm movement, that might be it. In any case, you help would great be appreciated. As for size, I'm looking to size it with the rest of what I collect, so it'll be 1/60 only. Anyways, like I said, it's a long ways off, but something that I'd rather be over prepared for, than under prepared.
  6. Nice haul. I haven't gone through my copies of those in awhile. It's nice to get a reminder of the many gems in all of these.
  7. Well, I got my multiple specifically to make a FB2012 version, so not everyone is getting them for bragging rights. Besides, we already have ideas of who those people are. I've never been into getting multiples myself. I've never seen a point to it, but some do it because they like multiple modes and want those displayed as such. Others do it to make something different from it, and then there's the ones who just like putting pictures up of their multiples for the sake of getting attention (which I still don't get why). Mine should be here tomorrow, and it's already set for a simple custom job. Along with that, comes a few Macross posters and a Macross Ranka Lee remote controlled car.
  8. It's like helicopters in space. Completely pointless and useless. The Valkryie design has 3 modes that can address everything that a "variable tank" could, and then much, much more. Besides, Kawamori has always been a fan of jets, and so, I don't see why he'd waste time on doing other stuff that the main heroes aren't going to bother with. This isn't Gundam, it's Macross. I couldn't careless about tanks, or ground robots. They are cool for filler in the shows, but I don't why they need to be explored. And of course, 7 did it first.
  9. thank you. I should have another ready tonight (crossing fingers)
  10. OK, 8 kits out, 2 done today. Those whos orders were sent out have been NTFD. Please check your PM. Whatever I finish today, that's about it, well, I have tomorrow, but the weekend is more family stuff, so I will continue hopefully Sunday night. If not, Monday will resume again. Thanks for your patience guys.
  11. OK, 8 going out tomorrow. Running a little behind the clock, but these are packed and ready to ship. I know I said yesterday, but they are now boxed up and labels will be printed tomorrow for them. I'll provide those to those that are within that first 8. For the other half that won't be getting the notifications just yet, they should be very soon. The other half will be getting new molds for a couple of the worn pieces (Used my standard stuff and some of these pieces are extra tough on it, so it'll be replaced with the new denser rubber mold), and will go out as each piece is done. Most of the remaining kits just need a piece here and there, so they should take next to no time at all. 1/60s are still coming slowly but surely.
  12. That's what I'm waiting on. I share a lot of the same feelings with those in the podcast. Not all of it, but a good amount. The one thing that seems to be a common thread is that it's really too early. Even for me, I like what I see now, but I can't jump the gun and say it's going to be great. I just don't know, but I am optimistic so far. Despite a couple issues that I had with the show, I'm not expecting perfection. Just something that I can anticipate.
  13. I'm sure 1/72 would require a bit more than just scaling things down. I'm really excited about getting one.
  14. I think it is the way in which it was asked, but that's just what it seems for me. If not, no worries then. It's also not my intent to come off defensive. It's usually comes off as a bit of a shot across the bow, when the first comments are tied to a question of integrity. It almost requires a question right back about the intent of the one asking. In any case, there does seem to be a pretty fair review of what people have seen. There doesn't need to be people that hate it just as equally as someone else, to make it feel even.
  15. I think it's because the overall feel of this site is usually for gritty mecha action of yesteryear, and many here, don't seem to care for anything outside of their perspective. I know it's not like that for every person here. Some just didn't take onto it as well. I certainly respect everyone's opinions on the matter, but why are you getting so upset that other people actually like it? I mean, so much so that you're accusing someone of cherry picking for the sake of pushing an agenda? Kinda low there.
  16. Thanks.
  17. Thanks, brother. I'm not putting myself out. We were spending a lot of weeknights at the hospital since early January, so I didn't want to use that as any excuse for why things had slowed a bit, it's still getting done. Family is doing what they can at the moment in dealing with things, so while they take priority, they know I have projects to work on, so I'll be picking up what I can this week, then lull during the weekend, and after Sunday, back to full status.
  18. Hey guys, sorry for the update. 8 are going out tomorrow. I ran a little behind due to a death in the family, and trying to sort family matters out has taken up a lot of time. Haven't put anything off, just really sidetracked with all that. I know it may sound like an excuse, but yes, 8 out tomorrow, doing another mold tomorrow to fix a part, but I should get the rest out during this week. 1/60 parts are in the process of getting made at the same time. Next weekend is going to be a bit of a bust, since I have the family service next weekend, and family flying in this week, but work does continue. Geez, really sorry guys. For those of you who know me on FB, you probably saw some of the posts indicating all this, but the parts are coming along. I'll be sending PMs tomorrow with tracking numbers for those in the order the payments came in to the designer.
  19. You'll probably be waiting a lot longer than a decade, most likely. You can always put faith in the Hi-Metal R line. They could very well put one out in a smaller scale.
  20. I'm gonna go on a good guess that you've never watched any Macross, or you'd realize that these are all elements that have been in other Macross series before. Of course you don't have to like it, but your post seems to be more like you're fishing for an argument based on nothing but opinion. In your ever so hilarious comment "Walkures are a mix of every single sick Japanese sex fetish put together", I am curious what facts helped you come to this conclusion. Ugh, sorry Tochiro, I'll keep that over there.
  21. Some of these ideas were already in the works by the time the first treatment that we covered was written. Macross 7 already had the implementation of a fully self contained, self sustaining colony ship, along with the compartment like sections (relatively speaking). The rest is very distinctly brought out in Frontier, as well as what seems to be direct scenes taken from this. I guess Kawamori very well knows to never let a good idea go to waste. While I did see this treatment trimmed down A LOT, I don't think it detracts from the Macross feel. The only thing that was a bit of a hard pill to swallow, was how the characters themselves had changed and not just going from the suggested names.
  22. I have a feeling that this line may not go nearly as extensively as the 1/60 line, and that's OK. If the price is what fits your needs, and you feel comfortable at that price range, the simple choice is to go with what you want. I don't know a lot of people (don't know any) who are willing to part ways with one scale to jump onto another. I'm only going to get a couple of these Hi-Metal Rs and only because they are different from what I have now. If it was going to be a full line, I would consider going in on it, but even then, I have no need to repurchase more of the stuff I already have.
  23. The cold weather was wreaking a little havoc on getting some parts done, and they were taking forever to cure, but with 80+ degree weather lately, it's been perfect. Can't wait to get these wrapped up and onto the 1/60 kit. I know it's going to be another beast to do those, especially with a larger order for those and painting, but they should be fun. I have all the tools set up for painting and whatever else is needed.
  24. OK, starting to box up 1/72 drones for mail out. Wings are still giving me trouble, but it's due to the 1/72 just being a lot smaller and thinner than the 1/60. Nevertheless, most are done and I have a ton of parts to sort through. Whatever I'm lacking will be done over the weekend. Most of the 1/72s will go out this weekend, the rest will be during the week as I finish them off. Then onto 1/60s. I'm going to go one piece at a time or these, so that they can get assembly line painted and done consistently.
  25. Ah, yeah, soon. I have a feeling it's gonna be one of those multiple page posts.
