So, these sound like the exact same threads, just complained at differently. Only you can answer your own question. Asking people to answer your own dilemma is a moot point. If I say no, but twice already, you're saying for you it is, well, then for you it is. It does sound like you probably should move one from it all, if it's not fun anymore. If you're looking for someone to try and keep you from that feeling, that's not really going to work either. Stay in it for you, or don't. Either way, the franchise will still be here.

Ugh, sorry about no pics. I am starting to put a few of these together, while working on the wing sections I do have done. Those are definitely taking time to clean up due to the amount of surface. Nevertheless, I'm still looking to get one or two out by month's end. From there, I'll just be wrapping each individual one off as I go. Most major pieces done, and just needing small pieces finished and a few more recast of wings. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Got mine in. The price is a great price at Amiami.

A lot of that is assuming a certain license structure. Many licenses are purchased for a number of years, especially when it comes to a business dealing such as this, where the company has had a longer track record with the licensor. Some of these types of contracts may also have specifics that cover certain things like the number of items the licensee can produce per year, approval stipulations, etc. This is really something that probably isn't worth going into, in regards to why they can or can't do something. there are basics we can draw, like the fact that Arcadia hasn't done any frontier toys, but aside from just a pure speculation standpoint, I personally don't care for the details in all this. Arcadia has done great with what they have, and Bandai with what they have. For now, just about all is covered between the two.

Whether or not it's premium finishing or not, I couldn't careless about. From some of the comparison shots of the two, I'm not that impressed with it. That said, I will still buy these even if they are. I didn't have a need to buy the Hikaru and Roy premium finished ones. First off because I like the older Yamato slight off white color over all these bright white. Secondly, I don't need more than 2 each. After that, it's just IMO, not necessary. Either way, I'm very happy to see these coming. It's also plenty of time for me to save up.

Being that my Yamato 1/60 Max 1J just sold the same day the news broke, I can afford both with that one sale, and have cash left over for a celebratory cake or somethin'.

I can try to take some. The pictures won't be anything really pretty, but just piles of finished parts on a table top. I'll get some tonight when I get home.

Main bodies are finished!!! Those were a bit difficult, but alas, they're all done. Out of all the tail fin pieces, I need to recast 4 more as some are now looking like they'll require too much time and work, and if done, would take some of the detail out. That said, all but two still need to be wrapped up. The intake sections are done, and just need some touch up with the insides, and I've started working on the gun barrels, black tail pieces, and the camera platforms. I also started on the engine pieces, but those are going to require a bit of sanding. they'll be done in a stainless steel color, and I'm using a light grey primer as base. I'm also going to be working on finishing my recasting this weekend, or at least getting the parts I'm short on, or don't look good another go. the clear pieces need to be redone, as I'm really not happy with the look of them. I'll be recasting them from a different angle that should give me a cleaner cast. As for the wings, that will be the main work, as it's the majority of what is seen. I finally have a prototype piece that is just perfect and it took awhile to get it like that. I'll be doing that, and once done, should be an easy cleanup once I start making copies. I have 14 done now, so as I stated, there will be kits going out at the end of this month.

I hope that's the end result. It's going to take a lot of work and a lot of smooth and tedious prep work to get the parts the way I need them to be. Thanks. I really can't wait to start. I know it's a pain in the bottom to do, but the end result, if all goes well, should be that eye popping moment. Thanks for the tips. I know it takes a lot of fine layers, and a lot of time to have all layers fully cure. I'm also going to be using ratio of 1:0.75 for the paint to thinner ratio so that I can get that long cure time for it to sit and really get that gloss look to it. I do need to test it though, as I still want a deep red. I may need to mix a little of the clear smoke color to deepen that. I'll be experimenting for awhile on the color, so that I get it right.

Kurisama, that's actually a pretty good thing. If you do make these, can I make one suggestion? can you make them with and without the harness pieces? I have the HMMs for the Yamato/Arcadia stuff, but even for that one, would it be possible to make it without the harness, but have a pin that can connect into a harness? I'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about, but in the workshop section, there's the 1/60 Drone project I'm working on, and there were 25 orders of the 1/60 drones. If you can make a set, or retweak the version you have for that kit that has the weapon pylons already on it, I'm sure you'd get some sales for those. As of now, they look a little strange with two pylons tacked on one another.

I'm looking to do a metallic finish red on my build. I bought black base coat, then chrome, and then a clear red to go over it. I'll test a part out first to see how that goes, but I can't work on it now until the current project is done.

That's crazy to see the tampo coming off in splotches. I didn't know this was an issue, when I first got mine, this thought crossed my mind when opening it, and I lifted them slowly and softly. Don't know if that will help new arrivals, but mine was clear of taking any paint off.

The smoother the finish, the more coverage the decal will have in adhering to the surface. It can still adhere, but it's best to put another coat of matte clear over the decal right after that to make sure it stays where you want it. I also use a decal softener, which makes the decals more pliable and soft, so I've never had a problem with putting them on matte finishes, but yeah, still better to put them on a gloss coated piece.

Sorry for the delay. I've been having this lingering cold that's just terrible, so I've been limiting some of my time to sleep. In any case, the picture I posted above has a lot more pieces done, and I'm starting to work on smaller parts now. For each main body piece, I have to do some intricate sanding in the gun track, as there was so much primer put in it when I first got them, that they don't slide properly. I should've checked before painting them, but that's not to say that they had issues. The paint held up nicely, and I'm up to date on fixing those. There are a couple parts I still need to recast, since I'm now fine tuning all the cleanup, and realizing that some of them just aren't up to par. Aside from the small problems, I can get a couple out by the end of April (about time, I know) I wanted to get them with a perfect gloss surface, but with resin, it's nearly impossible. I found a super fine white primer that has helped immensely, but I'm going to flat paint everything before I send it. Now, that can (but not necessarily) cause an issue with decals staying on should anyone decide to use any of them, so if you want it glossy, just let me know and I won't matte coat it. At the end of this, I may not even use the decals for mine, save for the kite, and putting one decal on and putting another clear matte coat is not a hard thing to do.
-
Definitely agree. I usually end up over sanding those parts when I do custom stuff, but you're already on top of it. That's great. Can't wait to see the final photos. These make me wish I bought extra D and A variants. That said, I take it you only needed one of each to do both variants, or was there extra valks used?

I don't know if it's been done yet, but have you transformed it?

Considering the ending song in the Frontier movie Sayonara no Tsubasa indicates that she woke up already, I don't think it'll relate to that, but as far as news goes, it looks like there will be some news in about 5 days or so? Either way, I'm very excited about it. She is, IMO, the best of all the idol characters the franchise has created. Also, before we get into this being confirmed as a movie or whatnot, for all we know, it could be a new pachinko game. Hope you guys don't get too far ahead of yourselves. It'd be great if a crossover for Delta, or something with a plot, but it could just be something small. Hopefully the 5 days will tell us all we need to know.

I just did a paint test with the matte color, and it looks amazing. Soon I'll start mass making the decals while I still have ink, and will get those on the paper as well. The problem with me matte painting is that I'm not putting on the decals, so it'd require a clear, then another matte coat to seal it. Because of that, I may just leave the parts in the gloss orange, but for those of you checking up on this, I'd highly suggest using a matte clear once the decals are done. I'm using Mr. Hobby clear matt, and trust me when I say that Mr Hobby is the way to go for this particular paint. It comes out very fine, and does an amazing job covering in the perfect matte coat you'd want. It feels like a toy piece when using this stuff because it's so fine.

Looks gorgeous. The ugly VA-3 is definitely a swan. If I can find time to brush up my CAD skills, I can finish the transforming version. I just don't have great skills in designing these yet, but I could. It's just taking forever.

Walkure's debut album receives Album of the Year award
Jasonc replied to kajnrig's topic in Movies and TV Series
The competition for music was pretty fierce the past year. Considering Love Live Sunshine was released, and a slew of other pretty large shows that had strong musical influences, it was by no means sparse. In many ways, the competition has upped its game the past several years with Idol Master and Love Live franchises releasing several CDs. Delta, from what I've been able to gather, rivals Frontier's music, and while yes, we all know the original SDF and DYRL vocal songs, the past two series (Frontier and Delta respectively) have focused on creating music that not only pulls from different genres and incorporates modern style to it, but is made with a quality and attention to detail that is very rare. It appears and feels like they really did put an emphasis on the music. Personally, I feel the Delta music is probably just as, or second to Frontier's onslaught of great music tracks (in recent years of the franchise. M7 I'd consider a totally different time and demographic of music, even though that was great as well). While one might argue that the music is only geared for a certain demographic, it's not a sustainable argument. Outside of MW in general, the music seems to be well loved all over. I'm not saying nobody likes it here, but the hate for the series here, and perhaps by default the music, seems to be concentrated to MW. I went to the 2nd Live at the Yokohama Arena, and getting to meet and see people from all over was a good thing to see first hand. Seeing a 17,000 capacity arena sold out for two days in a row is a sight to see as well. Large numbers of crowds, and chart topping songs do have a way of getting noticed, and those are based on sales and to some extent, downloads as well. This was a well deserved honor they've received, and IMO, the music itself is deserving of that title. Out of all the vocal tracks, I think there may be 2 or 3 that I don't really care for, and even with those, they aren't horrible. The people that don't like the music seem to be a minority by a lot in this case. -
OK, here's some of what's on the table now. These are mostly done, just need touch ups when assembling.
-
I really need to get on it. I'll snap one of the current workspace and some of the finished parts today. I just got in 10 cans of orange for more parts. I'm not a fan of spray paint, but when doing this many kits at one time, ease of use and all.
-
I don't think any of this is going to go back to 5 years ago or further. That's usually not how the world works, but in any case, I'll get one. I've wanted one that is official, so this will be a buy for me. It is pricey, but I'll just be taking sack lunches to work for a couple weeks to make up for it.
-
I'll be getting these, AGAIN, but I do hope that somewhere in between all these redesigned toys, is a Max/Milia 1J in the pipeline.
