what macross character do you identify the most?
Jasonc replied to striderhiryu's topic in Movies and TV Series
Ahhh, yes! Roy Fokker for me. I think the playboy attitude and the chicks he pulled in the show sum me up pretty well. Yet then, I have that cockiness of Max, in the fact that I just got it like that. HEHEHE -
Sounds good. Well, do you or whoever else sets up the cons to check out the place? I'll p.m. you my #

If you got Mari to sing, that'd be so hot. What goes on at the rt.com parties is ... lots of food, carne asada, side dishes, usually a couple movies, video games, alcohol, and sometimes we get to see sneek peeks at secret stuff. Always good times. That is definitely going on in June, with special guest then, but I need someone to contact me re: MWcon5 if there's interest in doing it at my house.

Kat can bring some cute girls I hope. Get your Harvard friend to come. She's kinda cute. Oh, and bring some of your UCLA girlies too, and most important, Kat, bring yourself.

Man oh man, Joseph needs to get back here and finish the Milia, Mylene picture with detail and color. That was hot!!! That's enough to have me get lost here at work.

What is difficult is that fact that the other conventions that were held were in a rec room. I would do it at my house, but I don't think it's big enough. At least not big enough for Valkyrie-exchange, and everyone else's displays. I also live in Mar Vista, between Venice and Culver City. If someone who helps put the MWcons wants to get in touch with me, to check out the place, email me. Otherwise, I'd vote for an early con, right before AX it seems. Solscud, I think you live close to me, if you wanna check it out, email me or p.m. me and you can check it out. I usually host the rt.com parties, and I fit about 40 +, but people don't bring stuff for display. We can barbecue again, and I have people that would help out for that. Anyways, let me know, guys. Talk to you later. Jason

This is such a strange, but very valid subject. Seems like I am in the rearranging state now, as I'm about to have my extra room back in my house. I had to lose my office while my cousin moved in, but now that he's leaving (thank god), I've been trying out displays in my room that will go into my office. I think it's good to want to move it arround, especially if it's just not looking right. Trust me, there will come a time when you'll find the right combination of display items and poses that says, "Macross, yes, I'm a fan" and you'll keep that display... at least for more than a week or so. LOL

I'd like to see that as well.

OK, I finally got mine, and those damn pegs that hold the legs/wings are really annoying since they don't really work. As far as slots not matching or broken or stressed parts on mine, it seems to work just fine. I really like it in shuttle mode, but those pegs for the wings. Anyone working on a fix for it yet? -
I work for Mercedes Benz, and we actually had an SLR here for one day. Some guy who owns an energy company bought it for 1.2 mil. The MSRP is like $420K. What a markup. As far as the all chrome Mercedes, I wasn't sure if they were gonna show that or not. Did they have the Mercedes CLS there? I'll be making my trip there tomorrow. I just bought a Subaru WRX STI, so I'll be looking at the performance parts. Thanks for the pics, any pics of the '06 Mitsu Eclipse?

I'm working on a Milia one as we speak. Pics to come shortly... HEHEHEH!

Shawn, where are youuuuuuuu!!!! This would be sooo worth $15-$20 for a DVD of it. It's quite entertaining. Just needs some subtitles. If anyone could please give an update... please!

Mine is coming anyday now. I bought it from a friend in the military over in Japan now. $100.00!!! I hope this toy is good. Reviews are so mixed here, it's crazy. If I don't like it, I can always go back to my paper monster. -
You see, what's cool about customs is that they don't have to be "canon" or have anything to do with the series. I don't think a Red Baron version, or even the Enigma that others have done is anywhere in the series. But yet, the Enigma is a beautiful custom. I urge anyone... if you're doing a custom, post it up. These custom shots are gorgeous.

I've been very interested in doing this for awhile. I know the basics of many of the songs already and could help quite a bit. I'm in Culver City, L.A. area. I play guitar and have a Gibson Les Paul with a Fender 4x10 Deville amp that's louder than sh*t. I've been in a few bands myself. Do you have a singer? Let me know. I'm interested. -
Macross has been taken to a whole new level! It's good to see our minds just expanding and creating new scenes to infiltrate our minds.
-
Dude, that's bad*ss! It's probably what Max would've jumped into once the war was over and he continued his climb through the ranks. Very nice touch IMO.

Jemstone, if you read the previous posts, I put up, you'd see I don't have a problem with finding someone. It's just a matter of demanding respect for yourself and not compromising it because some skirt is gonna throw a fit because of friends and co-workers. My girlfriend knows straight up that I'm not getting rid of my stuff, nor am I gonna change just so I can make someone else happy at the expense of my own happiness. Oddly enough, my GF respects me more for the fact that have these interest that are somewhat different from the norm. I'm not in dorkville about it, but having a few Valks on display and my huge anime collection is my decision, and to hell with what others think.

Minmay at Anime over dose
Jasonc replied to goldenboy_forever's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
That's just mean. I've seen her in person and she's a cutie. -
I'm definitely there, since I know the people who are running it. There will be a lot of info @ Robocon 20 about the new show, and the future of Robotech. Also some special performances. I'm trying/wanting to get my bandmates together to perform some Robotech and Macross songs for the con as a tribute not just to Robotech, but to the show that spawned it, Macross. Heh, Minmay songs punk style

Well, I was married once, and no matter how much I compromised, nothing was ever enough. Hard lessons learned, but lessons that made a better me.

This is why I'm sooo glad my new girlfriend knows and understands what I love and what I collect. I learned the hard way and now I'll just let them know upfront what I like, what I'm into, and if they aren't cool with it, it's their decision. Never compromise part of you for P*ssy! Women will respect you more if you stand up to them. Sometimes it takes a little bit of struggle, but at least they'll usually respect you for having the cahones to stand up for what you enjoy. I tried to compromise with my ex, and like someone said, that foot became a yard, then a football field. Cut the problem at the root, and as long as your manly duties are there and you're keeping up with your end of the marriage, don't give in. I'm not saying anything bad about your wife. Many women get like that after time, and especially in marriage. Hope I don't catch hell for this, but it's that whole "independent woman" thing and she wants control. Control in a marriage should be a blissful balance, and I'm sure there are other things you can work out that will make her happy and forget about trying to make you rid yourself of your collection/hobby. Update us on your situation, and I hope it works out for you. Marriage is very important as well as principals that govern it. I'm sure it'll work out fine.

Honestly, I had this problem with my EX-WIFE. She kept on ranting about how she wanted me to get rid of my "childish" toys and grow up. What I knew was that her other B**** ass girlfriends kept making comments and wanted all their men to be a certain way. I didn't change when we met and after we got married, she did. That seems to be the case here. You haven't changed and you are keeping what is a part of you. Yes, they may just be toys or VHS tapes, but there's a principal here. Trust me. I've been around the block a few times and have had many things in life go good and bad. If you can compromise where you're not losing out, and if both of you can come to a happy arrangement, that's good, but just remember that like what others have said here. She married you for who you are, and those things are a part of you. For her to make you get rid of them is to in a sense, try to change you. Many problems begin with the significant other trying to change the other. Those problems need to be dealt with in a delicate, yet hastily manner. Good luck man. I'm pulling for you to keep your stuff.
