I thought this would be relevant. I just played my Macross Plus game for PSone last night, and after playing it again, realized the fun in it. I played against my cousin, a few friends, and we made a drinking game out of it. K, so, this puts the fun in Macross Plus quite up there. Since I didn't include Battlecry in the list of Macross games, but is pretty darn close, I thought I'd put my opinion about that game. As such, I actually had a very good time with that game. There were some quick run through missions, but the plot was ok. As far as playability, that was about as good as possible for a 3rd person shooter. Anyways, wow, such a turnout for responses on this.

Man, I really don't care who wins, just as long as we see some great stuff. Time to revive the custom arts!!! You'll probably see my 1/72 Ghost X-9 there as well. Along with the VF-1D, the VT-1 Super O, and maybe the Red Baron VF-1J. That's a lot of work, and I'm trying. HEHEHE

I wonder why as well Well, since we're on the shirt subject, $12 isn't expensive, considering they are good quality. Or at least they have been before. Solscud, please post pics of the shirt design. I already have my money set aside for shirts.

It definitely has to be PS2's Macross game. Macross VFX2 is right behind it seems, as the ability to use different valks is just cool. However, nobody really discussed Macross Plus for PSone. That game was so-so. It's the only game with a vs. mode, so that's its uniqueness. What do you all think of that one?

Say for shizzles and giggles that it was a Britney Spears song... What song would be equivalent? Slave? Hit me Baby one more time? See, this is what I get for having a sister. Now, if they did play Twisted Sister, or Metallica, or whatever, I think they would've thought of it as a distorted channel, but would've worked more for the U.N. pilots. I would be pretty amped hearing that and would want to destroy everything.

If anyone is interested in seeing and/or purchasing recast parts, it's time to put your $$$ where the mouth is and demand recast sets. The old molds are going or gone, and we need the torch to be past once again. 1/55 Recast This will let all those interested put in their $0.02 and let someone get involved. We need more cast. At least I do.

A cost breakdown of all this for the Elint should be something like $60-$75 for the resin parts, $up to $45 for the 1/55, and about $30+ for spray paint, putty, and sand paper. It can be quite pricey, but well worth it if done right. Put me down for that if price is right.

Thanks for the compliment man. I still feel so humble after seeing the other stuff that is put out here. I figure that if I can put out customs and keep the interest alive and inspire, I'm doing my job. It'll definitely be at MWcon5.

MGREXX, your face finally pops up. I'm working on getting pieces for a VE, but as I don't know anyone who has a set yet, I'm fishing. Anyways, I don't have too much time on my hands with work, juggling a couple girls, and SOCOM II. But it's good to finally see a post from you. HEHEHEHE, No orange for awhile. But the current one does have red, white, black... you'll see soon.

Thank you for putting up this thread. I really want to see all the nice custom stuff people bring. I'm trying to do one more custom by then, but this is gonna be cramming. In anycase, I hope to see everyone bring in customs. Even those that cannot attend. Send them to a trusted MWer here and display them.

MSLZ, do you have any recast of the VE armor, head, and cockpit? LMK. Man that pic of it just makes me want it badly and I will have to start pulling apart another Bandai for it.

Yep, forgot about that detail. Regular Pinesol. The Lemon scented stuff doesn't even work as well.

If you recast, I vote for the Elint. That set is just too hard to come by, and it's fustrating to not be able to find it. If you start recasting it. Show us pics as you do it. I'm gonna need a set badly.

Hey Kanata, I got the parts, thank you. I will probably use the piece that looks like the arrow. It's not too thick and not all that flimsy either. Just remember, if you need parts or stuff, just pm me and let me know.

I'm pretty sure there's a tutorial on these boards somewhere. But When it comes to paint, sealing, and the sort, make sure you sand down your parts first, especially the rubbing/grinding parts. That's the first way to prevent chipping and scratching. I like to use Tamiya as well. It's light, strong, and very easy to work with. If you sand down all your parts slightly, then wash with soap and water, plastic parts don't need primer. But all metal parts do and it's best to use a strong metal primer. For coats of paint. Two coats is usually good, and make sure they are light sprays. Thick, heavy coats will create a major pain. For panel lines, I use a mechanical .05 pencil and lightly draw in lines. The clear coats witll darkent the lead and make decent panel lines. Once the paint is done, apply your stickers or (preferably) decals. For these, make sure all air bubbles are out of the decals and that they are 100% flat and bubble free on the applied surface. I noticed you were curious about the Future polish. Honestly, I never tried it. I use the Testor Model Master line lusterless flat. This will not only harden your paint and seal it, but will also seal up your decals and make them appear painted on instead of a model appearance. If you mess up, use Pinesol to take the paint of the parts. Others have various ways of taking paint off. But the best way IMHO without dstroying parts is soaking them in Pinesol for 3 hours to a day. Use an old toothbrush afterward, some sandpaper, and soap clean and voila! Pinesol will not harn the parts or warp them in anyway, shape, or form. Hope this helps somewhat. Let me know if you have questions.

I'm actually looking for a recasted set. If anyone who has it or makes it sees this, pm me. I really need a set like this. Thanks. And to add my $0.02 to the thread, I guess we haven't seen it cause it just isn't as popular as the Ostrich is/was. Not that it's ugly or anything cause it isn't, just that it's probably gotta cost about $50.00 for a recasted set, then all the prep work, and putty and paint. That's a lot of work for one custom. Work I'd take on, but others may not be interested in doing.

Hey, thanks everyone for the comps! 6 months. I was lazy most the time, but as far as actual work??? About a month.

I was looking at the barrels of the last pic, and realized that dust is all over that thing. It's been on the shelf for a lonnnnnng time.

I'm working on the antannae now as I type. And I have thought about selling it. How much would a custom like that go for?
