Toynami Announces Masterpiece Cyclones at Toyfair
Jasonc replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm trying to figure out how some people who have posted here, automatically assume that it's HGs fault for all the toy problems and how they are just copying. This is a new sculpt for the "Cyclone" ride armor. How different will the transformation be, I have no clue, but there are only so many ways they can have it transform and I'm sure they are trying to do it the right way. I know that people are gonna compare it to the Gakken version, and say that it is a copy. It's an easy assumption to make, especially since most of us wanna hate Toynami so you can join a bandwagon and feel more important in life. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of theirs either, but I do believe in "testing" out all new products. For example, just because the VF-1s sucked from Toynami, doesn't mean their Inuyasha toys, or their Voltron toy sucked. Those happened to be very impressive toys. The saying applies here, "the proof is in the pudding", meaning, let's measure it up when they come out. The alphas have been a let down, especially since there have been no official release of the BETA, but that set aside, if you want the Cyclone, then wait for it, wait for reviews, and weigh it in at that time. I do hope they decide to do the "Rook Bartley" version instead of the Sue Graham. They need to use the characters that everyone remembers. Hopefully interchangeable heads so you can put on the heads without helmets. -
I preordered this show from an online website that got them early, and they just shipped it right out. What was interesting to know is that after seeing it on the theater, the sound has been fixed on it, as well as minor details. Out of all that it is, I have many things that just bother me about the release. However, all-in-all, it's not a bad movie. The music score is what really sets the movie apart. The packaging has one of those foil looking slip cases that goes with it, and as Funimation always does, they took a bad image the HG gave them and made it good. Good thing they picked Funimation to do the distribution. Overall, I felt better seeing it out and on my home theater than in the theater. It looks much cleaner and better put together than before.

This one was done by me. It's my 1/55 custom Elintseeker http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...;hl=Elintseeker I never sent it in because I'm recustomizing it to make the legs fully pivotable. So if you wanna put that up till the update, I'd appreciate it.

SAAAAA-WEEEEET!!!! Glad to know things are still moving forward. I can now start preparing for more customs. you guys rock (Anasazi/Nightstalker) Keep the dream alive!

Any details or updates to this new installment of possibilities? I'm excited, as I will be able to get my Elintseeker back into finishing mode.

I could maybe see us being discriminating againgst LKF, cause he's a retard, but racist??? Yeah, this site is all about keeping the minorities down since we're all just a bunch of white people who walk around in white hoods. Hey LKF, why don't you drive your "Lambo" through one of our gatherings, and tell us how "ballin'" you are, being a newly found rich black man in this white only forum. I mean, that's what this site is all about. -Geez, the sarcasm out of that was just super thick- Glad it's all taken care of guys.

Again, the big spenders do it so that Yamato will make more toys and more variations. Thanks guys
-
Well, if you think about it, their purchases probably account for over 50% of all of Yamatos Valkyrie purchases. So, without them buyin up so many, they probably would've quit making them due to not so high profits. Yamato doesn't make these just for fun, they know Macrossworld members will buy the quality stuff, and in large amounts. Damn, I realized that with that, Yamato should be bending over backward for it's largest Macross purchasers. Shoot, they should even produce a Macrossworld exclusive valk in 1/60 and 1/48. I'd go for that. Oh, and if my real estate endeavors push me over the $200K/year mark, I'll financially contribute to Macrossworld. LOL. Right now, it's wedding time, honeymoon, and paying off my car.

And for the record, I think this "bullshit" posting is just retarded. I work around some people who make more money in one month than I have in 3 years, and I make a lot of money (around $130K/year in real estate). Anybody that has that kind of money and brags like that is very full of it. Think about it, if all you can do is brag about $200 Yamato collections??? OK, 14 year olds should get their parents permission to join this site. Obviously someone who needs that much attention is just a waste of time. As for Xstoys, I think most can vouch for his collection. He shows what the goods are at the MWcons, and doesn't brag about it like some pompous bafoon. As for those of you who have invested over $2-$3K in your yammies and total collections, do you regret ever buying so many of the toys?
-
You know, I've been fortunate (I guess) to avoid the 1/48s since I don't wanna start collecting all over again. Roughly though, on Yamato Macross stuff, I'm at around $1000 even. That's counting all my Macross Plus toys, the Macross Zero toys, and the Koenig Monster. This stuff adds up quick. Lucky this thread only deals with Yamato. Everything else added would be a total of about $4250 for me.

I'll definitely post up pics this weekend. My room mate lost my camera plug, so I have no way of taking pics except by a lousy camera phone. but I'll document the work done on the mods. But they should be posable like the 1/60 and 1/48 scale Yamatos when they are done. I cut a lot of sheet metal for the job, and it's all coming around now. Look for it in another thread, I don't wanna hijack this one. BTW, Kid has a nice portfolio thread up with his customs.

I'm still present, and I still have been customizing. My last product of completion (Kinda) was a 1/55 Elintseeker. I now have it displayed on a chrome Valkyrie launch arm, and it looks sweet. I'll try to get pics soon if I can find my camera charger. As for my Ostrich that I had done about a year ago, I sold it to some guy in New York who had the nerve to complain about the paint job. but nevertheless, I'm gonna start work on another one hopefully in the next couple months. for now, I'm making swivel feet to go with the swivel thighs on my modded and customized Elintseeker. BTW, this Ostrich is very cool, and I always like looking at it when I can in person. Always a great job.

see that's what happens when you stop using a PC for a long period of time. Thanks I'll send you something tonight

quick question, now that I have the headset setup, from XP pro, what program do you use or how do you start recording .wav files?
-
Any news on this process of getting the decals? I'm not expecting anything because of the holidays and stuff, but hopefully everything is all set for a great new 2007 rebirth of decals.
-
finally got my Logitech headset. I'll be sending you a voice message this weekend

Great news to hear. And here I was, getting ready to get out some dough for an ALPS printer, and stock a major amount of inks. I hope you guys know that you're the saviors of Macross cusomization. What good is a custom if it isn't detailed properly?

Hey, just wanted to let you know I'm still wanting to get involved. I was hooking up my mic to my computer the other day (last week) and it's a really bad mic. Very static sounding and not anything close to what you would want. I will be getting a new mic this friday, and will send off to you the .wav files so you can hear them. I'd be happy to get whatever you wanna throw my way, and I have a roommate that is very interested himself. He does the Zentran voices pretty well. But for those, are you gonna use the Zentran language, or are you translating that as well?

I know for me personally, I'd like another set of the super Ostrich decals for a 1/55 scale, as well as the 1/55 Khakizaki. I'm also wanting to do a Blue Roses custom for a 1/55, so as you can see, I am wanting to get busy on a few customs. I'm more of a 1/55 enthusiast, along with a few others. I've also been interested in another Minmay guard set of decals, for both the moon act and Paris act versions. All again, 1/55 scale.
-
that's what I'd like to know. Is there gonna be a setup where we can get the old Anasazi decals? If so, I will have no need to find my old Alps printer, and I will have no need to do these. I had been doing them in Illustrator, and planned to start making high res. decal sets, but if it's already in the works, then I can stop where I'm at.
-
It's just strange that knowing what these printers have the ability to do soooo much, but they are doing away with them. I mean, the ability to make foil printing, and all that. What do the industry people use to print these types of projects using chrome, gold, and white?
-
I have begun my work into creating vector based graphics on illustrator, based off of The Hasegawa decals, and formatted like how Devin used to format them. I must say, creating decals from scratch is no easy task, but I have gotten the hang of doing it now, and it shouldn't be too long before I have my first set for the 1/55s done. The only thing, is that I haven't grabbed that alps printer yet. Soon, my friends, soon. What I've been trying to figure out is why there isn't a company out there that doesn't produce one of these types of printers, knowing there is a demand for them, as small as it may or may not be. They could corner the market on these dye sublimation printers.

Hey Hikuro, I sent you a pm, but although I am here in the L.A. area, I have had professional voice acting training, and have had several auditions for a few anime shows (one I made, but wasn't willing to move to Texas for a long time). I can do voice work pretty well, and I have some knowledge, not a lot about the mixing software. The only audio software I've ever used was Liquid audio, and Q-base, which is high end audio recording tools, but might be more for music recording. Anyways, PM me if you need a demo or what you'd like to hear/see for any more parts.

I'm curious about the OKI Data 5000 model. Is that still in production? If so, does anyone have any info on that printer, like price, accessibility of ink, and if it does in fact take the same cartridges as the Alps? This may be the fix, if it's still in production, or still supported by OKI.
-
Well, the best thing to do if it's gotta be an alps printer, go on ebay, and buy all the ink you can, when you can, and amass a large army of printer cartridges. Then, when it all disappears, that one person will be the last source of ink for the alps. I will have to pull my fathers ALPS printer out of hybernation. Hope it still works.
