I've been trying to get my hands on one of those. Maybe I should check ebay more often. It's funny seeing people pay over $100 for cardboard. Totoro, love the MOSPEADA collection. Mine, not so good. -

I doubt you'll get a C & D order from those guys. If anything, they are still fans of the originals. I know both of them quite well. The only thing you really have to worry about is the lawyers there, and I think they are busy with other big stuff. As for Mari signing stuff, why not make it more lucrative for her and charge $3 per autograph, or if you buy her CD, the signing is free? Just an idea so she doesn't feel like anyone is really taking advantage of the moment with her. And i'd limit it to 3 items per turn. At least this gives people time to get things signed, and she makes some money. Both a win win situation for everyone. Oh, and BTW, I will donate a set of the series #1 1/100 Valkyries to the con. Hope you can use that. -
yep, if you're looking for a recruit, I have a Phalanx to donate to the ground pounders on your ship. Just make sure you get a good shot of them on the deck, posing like a bunch of war crazed battle junkies.

ORDERED!!! Can't wait to see this bad boy in the display case. Now, to keep the fingers crossed for no broken parts.

Macross 25th Anniversary! New TV series coming!
Jasonc replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
If they are looking at Gundam as a (we want to do it like that), it should be Gundam 0083, or 08th MS team. Perhaps a series based off the game Macross M3 (sorry game, but had a promising backstory). We'll be talking about this for over a year as things slowly unfold. Man, what to do to pass time. -
I use the Model master flat. With any clearcoat, what I've found and tested is the amount that is sprayed on. I've found that some of the clearcoats seem to almost cook the paint. It may be some sort of chemical reaction, but what it looks like is that the more clearcoat you spray, the more yellow it becomes. There is a fine line that I've been able to do that lets you put spray your coat out, and it doesn't yellow white color at all. Best bet is to spray a junk piece white, and test out the various clears. Can't tell how much I've spent on finding what works for me. but light coats they always say, I would double that for clearcoats.

I don't even think the Canadians would know. By the time the French speakers get to the English speakers, it's all done and over with. I think just taking over a pond will suffice though. LOL

Here are your possible scenarios... 1) For spray cans, a bad mix of the pigment to the adhesive and transfer (happened to me before). Just buy another can 2) The surface of the color didn't have time to dry, and when it finally did, the evaporation of the solvents caused the clear coat to crack. For that, allow more time to dry, or if you did, see #1 3) Quick drying of the clearcoat. If it dries too fast, there's a possibility that it could crack due to the top of the coat drying faster than the bottom of the coat. Room temerature and not a lot of moisture, away from heaters, fans, and exposure to the sun will prevent this. 4) painted part that was clearcoated was touched too much by oily hands/dirt. I use latex, powder free gloves to handle all my parts after I initially wash them, that's the best defense for that. 5) Mixed paint types... Although you said that they were both enamel. Try using Acrylics if you can for your color paint, and enamels for the clearcoats. you get a better coat using light sprays of the acrylic, and it works well with enamel clear coat. Hope that may help in your search for your problem.

Macross 25th Anniversary! New TV series coming!
Jasonc replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
There are so many possibilities for a new series. Any type of spinoff could potentially be an epic story almost. How about what happened to the Megaroad 1? Max and Milia on their first colony expeditions? What if they did do a throw back to the original SDF Macross...Why not do what Gundam did with the 08th MS, and do a series just on the ground pounder mecha? I haven't gone through this thread, and seeing it right now gets my hopes up, somewhat. I'm so tired of CG in animation looking like CG. I miss the drawn animation. It made people actually draw out character emotion, and every show had it's own stamp of originality, other than the cookie cutter syndrome we see today. Can someone recap me on the summary of what is the latest word on this project? No Kawamori? Who's designing, who's directing, how far along are they? Any links or previews? Sorry, working 2 jobs is killing my internet browse time. -

Did I say how freakin' great this is??? I think this con always inspires me to customize something, although, as of right now, I don't know what I want to customize. I will have to buy a ton of customizing material again, since mine has aged. Does anyone know what music Mari will be playing? That's very cool. That should get some more people out there, and more women. -
Man, I can see it now, for the next MWcon, a contest of RC Scopedogs for Valkyrie prizes!!! I'm gonna have to get one of those just so that I can roll it around the house and go head to head with my roomie. Great pics on the SV-51. That's definitely next on the list of things to get.

Those pics are like drugs, the more I see, the more I want. Better hide the glass mirrors or I'll sniff up the pixels, Damn, this thing looks nice. I've already got some stuff on sale, and I'm gonna need every bit of it for this. I'll be on the 1st release bandwagon, if it's less than $250. I will be hoping that my wedding gifts include a nice lump some of money. I know my fiance would like this thing.

I'm happy with what obviously appears to be an early sculpt. If some things on it look to be out of place like the hands, I'm sure they want to display articulation as much as possible without making 2 or more versions of an expensive prototype so we can see hands. One prototype is enough, and should keep overhead and our wallets just a slim amount fuller. I do hope they fix the legioss attachment bar and it's connecting piece. It looks off a bit, but then again, maybe it's just due to the all grey color blending. I'm a bit concerned though... someone mentioned that CM usually makes these smaller??? I hope not. I'd rather pay the $250 for two large ones each, than $125 for a much smaller one. If it is made close to the same size as what Toynami dangles over our head, it's gonna be sheppard's pie all over Toynami for them holding their Beta hostage.
-
That's what seperates the pros from the newbs (j/k) I'm gonna be anxious on seeing the new SV-51. I guess I'm gonna start saving now for that, the Tread/Legioss set, and whatever other goodies we see when everyone post their pics up.

She'll already have tied the knot, LOL. But she likes anime, Macross, Robotech, all that stuff, so she's a keeper, and hot. -
Have You Ever Met A Celebrity Or Famous Person?
Jasonc replied to Phalanx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh, almost forgot, I met Morgan Web and Adam What's his last name from G4, that show X-Play. That was when I was in a couple days before Christmas to get my PS3. They were in line to buy their own PS3s. Very cool people. And Morgan Web is a hottie. Much better in person than on t.v. -

Jasonc replied to Phalanx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've met a few celebs. As of recent, I met Chris Cornell of the late Audio Slave at the Mercedes Benz Dealership I used to work at. I met the Spin Doctors band when my band opened up for them at the Key Club in Hollywood, I also met Jennifer Lopez before she got hooked up with P-Diddy back in the day at her first album release party. Believe it or not, I hung out with Chris Tucker and Mark Wahlberg when going to Tu-Pacs B-day party a long, long time ago. I was dating a girl who worked for Interscope Records, and so, some perks came with that. As of late, not any though. -

I'm getting married the week before, but if we plan our honeymoon for august, count me in. I'm gonna have to get the customs out again, and finish up the elintseeker I did. I'll bring a few of the things we may not see too much (like I really have anything rare). -
I don't mind hearing an update about no update. I am interested in seeing if he has updated anything since his last progress post back in November. Maybe he's done with it now? It is looking good though.

One of these days, very soon, I'll have pics up of my collection. It's a mediocre collection. But some customs in there as well. -
Toynami Announces Masterpiece Cyclones at Toyfair

Damn, after seeing that, I realize more than ever, make the damn Beta!!! I could careless about the freakin' new alpha colors. screw those, I want my damn Beta now!!! -
You know, that sounds about right as of late. I just ask about the recast though, as I'm not one to really complain much. If there is a problem, I like to fix it.

I like the toy. There's always room for improvements. I wish they were done beforehand, but that's the price we pay sometimes for the "can't wait, gotta get it now" approach. I'm happy with mine. Not the greatest toy, by no means the worst toy, but it's in between. A good toy.

I think it would be an even better selling point if they have helmet-less swappable heads. There'd be nothing cuter than to have a Rook Bartley without her helmet on a bike. The Sue Graham version would be nice too, but the characters without helmets would make a nice detail point. -
I've transformed my YF-19 multiple times, and have checked the original piece in question for stress marks. I have none to report. but to keep is safe, I have turned out the screws about twice out of the socket, to relieve any tight screwing. The screw head is still flush with the plastic, and there are no negative reactions, so I hope that works if you have just stress marks and or a brand spankin' new toy. Anybody wanna work on making a very durable resin cast of this piece??? I'd probably buy a couple just for safe keeping, especially if they produce variants of the 19.
