  1. I got mine at Kinokuniya today (they had it in stock). $9.00 wasn't too bad for it. Overall, it's a great publication. While I do agree about the ads (being too many), Macross the First seems really cool. And oh yeah, Minmay is absolutely HOT!!! Question for those who are going to be getting this, will there be a translation team? If I could, I'd be willing to help. I'm gonna see if there's any software available to type in the characters and get one, but someone who can translate (or a group) would be awesome. I'll make books of these if that's the case.
  2. Awesome news, Hikuro, thanks for the update. Can't wait to watch this on t.v.
  3. For those with large poster collections, do you guys have a website to buy the poster archive books? I found this http://www.cutting-mats.net/archival-print...ctors-5899.html, but not sure if this is exactly what I'm looking for. I bought one poster archive book years ago, and a couple smaller ones years ago at AX06 or 07 (not sure), but now need more. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  4. I actually got into Macross/Robotech through a friend I had at the time in elementary school who already was into SDF:Macross. I was watching episodes of Macross on video before Robotech aired, and when it finally did, I was already a fan from the getgo. That was back in 1984-1985. I continued on with Robotech, as it was in english and it "continued" from Macross. Of course, in the early 90s, when I was older, I realized that there was much more out there, like Macross DYRL, Flashback 2012, Macross Plus, etc. While I still enjoy the original 85 episodes of Robotech, the Sentinels, and the Untold Story, after those, I've been a Macross fan.
  5. Auditions sent for Michel and Alto. Thanks for the heads up.
  6. There is a place at the local anime conventions that usually has the poster books for sale. I work right by anime jungle, and haven't seen anything there, or anywhere around that area. There may be places like art shops that carry them. Maybe Aaron Bros.??? If not any of those places, there's always online.
  7. Nice promo pics, totoro. Also, thanks guys for the information. I have another expensive outlet.
  8. Looks like they are planning for one in Nocal and one for Socal. Exact logistics for both look like they still need to be hashed out.
  9. Hikuro, my audition stuff got delayed today due to having to take the car in to get fixed. I'll have my auditions to you tomorrow. I'll try out for Alto, Michel.
  10. I had a lot of reservations getting the Alto and Ozma, but once they were in my possession, they do grow on me. I think Bandai did a decent (not great) job of making a "toy", and not a collectible close to lineart representation of it. I am used to my toys being more representative of lineart over being more of a "toy" to play with. However, if I keep that in my head that that is Bandai's goal, it makes the VF-25 line more acceptible. That's still not to say that I don't have issues, like the wongo Ozma head lasers. I will eventually try and fix those. Also the low leg position and gaps, but what to do now? Hopefully a re-release after the movie. I'm looking forward to the next two coming. And the supplemental Gallia IV set and Luca's ghost set look great so far.
  11. If this is a go for Lakewood, let's set it up. What should we all bring, what food, will there be a BBQ, any collections??? At least I'll be able to attend since I'm gonna be on the a.m. shift starting in February (10:00p.m-6:30a.m). Hook it up.
  12. At least you got something out for now. I like the mix of the new sample. It's really hard to gauge the levels without any voices, but as of now, awesome work.
  13. No problem... Oh, and good work on the "new" project. I'll be sending out audition stuff on Monday. My cold I have now might taint the audio if I try to do it now.
  14. This may be an OT question, but many of you talk about a Japanese auction site. If this is a case, what is the link? The only site I'm aware of is good ol' ebay. Is there another one that has this sort of stuff? BTW, to be back on topic, I always liked that poster of Ishtar. The only ones I have of that are the back of the model kit instructions for the 1/100 VF-2SS.
  15. Just checking in to see if you had a chance to send the DVD yet. Anyways, hope all is well.
  16. There is going to be one, as stated in the other thread on this forum. You should definitely check it out, as many of these guys who come have lots of cool stuff to show and talk about.
  17. Check here for the news http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=53673 For those who don't want to read, here's what it says: According to Monthly Shounen Ace magazine, a new magazine "Macross Ace vol.001" will be published on January 26, 2009 by Kadokawa Shoten. The magazine is specialized in Macross-related manga, light novels, music, game and figures. The volume 001 has 80 pages of manga "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross THE FIRST" written by Mikimoto Haruhiko (the character designer & graphic art director of Macross series) and an original story "Macross F ~Secret Visions~". Other authors mentioned in the notice: Yoshino Hiroyuki (the script writer of "Macross Frontier") Aoki Hayato ("Macross Frontier (Manga in Shounen Ace)") Mizushima Sorahiko ("Macross Frontier (Manga in Comp Ace)") Kodachi Ukyou ("Macross Frontier (Light Novel in Sneaker Bunko)") In accordance with this, I just got my latest Macross Chronicle mag, and on the back, it has the ad for this new publication. The number of volumes is a mystery, but the idea of various manga, stories, and characters just seems freakin' awesome. I'll scan the ad and put it on here in a short time. Edit: Forgive me if this is already old news. I'm just finding out about it now.
  18. So, anyone volunteering their house or have ideas for an area for socal?
  19. Let me know if you need any fill in voices, or any extra stuff, when you get back on the Zero train.
  20. I vote yes, get it...If you can at least eat ramen, then you're good to go. I've been more than happy with mine. Not a single complaint on my end for the YF-21.
  21. I go first for throwing Exo's SDF-1 model, LOL. Well, so far, it seems like a regular hangout. Not a lot of interest for Socal. Does anyone want to do this?
  22. Awesome stuff...Posters are freaking awesome!!!
  23. Makes sense. I think these guys were having the same problems, but it is doable. Anyways. these guys may not have the know how that you have. If you ever decide to work on Mac 7, let me know.
  24. Well, damn, count me in for internet troubles as well. I've been talking to a couple guys that are trying to work out the logistics of dubbing Macross 7, and was asked to audition for Gamlin's part. Hikuro, are you thinking about doing Macross 7 by any chance? If so, maybe I should get you in touch with these guys. Anyways, here's to the internet, LOL
  25. OK, cool. Glad I checked here cause I wasn't sure if it was sent or not. Hope your job prospects are going well.
