  1. yeah, gotta admit, that sounds great. I like the natural flow of the dialogue and speech. Can't wait to see more.
  2. I just got the confirmation. I think some people are bringing some collectible stuff, so I may bring a 1/5 scale Minmay figure, and perhaps a couple other things. The collection stuff I have isn't really Robotech stuff, but more Macross related only. Perhaps I'll bring a couple other things for people to look at, like the new Yamato VF-1D toy. Ha, free marketing for Yamato.
  3. Probably a dumb question as one who has done limited models, but why do you weight the nosecone?
  4. In regards to the issues that many of you are facing, I've begun to liquidate some of the toylines I don't collect, i.e. G.I.Joe, Transformers, etc. Also, even within my Macross/Robotech collection, I've started to set aside items that I will be selling to offshoot my collecting during these times. While my job is about as solid as can be (knock on wood), learning to be prudent in these times, and perhaps when/if the economy does pick-up will help stabilize my wallet, and perhaps everyone else's wallet in future. Eating out less, and selling toys of less interest to buy toys of more interest has helped me to spend less, and still keep my sense of joy in buying toys w/o the guilt. I don't know if that'll work for everyone here, but it seems to work for me. Trust me when I say that I'm pulling for all of you in that hard place. Hope you all get blessed with a proper job, and keep food on the table and roofs over your head... (and valkyries in your collections)
  5. Oh yeah, he Save, how about sending some of that down here??? Mmmmm, Currrrryyyyyy! Actually, the Manju looks good too. Is that in easy access there?
  6. I'm happy with the way this is turning out. I could still go for the tailfins being a little bit more extended, but then again, I've been fooled by the official pics before. I'm definitely getting one. I can only hope that the economy makes the dollar just a bit stronger so my money goes a bit further.
  7. Well, we'll definitely have to meet up. I'll introduce you to our group. We're kinda the outsiders from the Robotech community, but always fans of Macross and Robotech. We'll have to hang and have some drinks over there. I'm a Macross fan who became a Robotech fan by default (from 84 on). Never left my Macross roots, and have just been more immersed w/ Macross with all the series and stuff that's put out. I'll be using this screenname, so look for me over there.
  8. Just got my Macross VFX2 poster. I will take pics of that and my other poster coming when it shows.
  9. Thanks for the compliment. I left out some other stuff that I will take pix of later, but as far as the Kazutaka book, It's an awesome book. The lineart, and designs in that book always impress me, no matter how many times I look through it. It's an expensive book, but one I believe shouldn't be out of any Macross fans collection. I've been trying to collect other books, so anyone with a collection, post them up with pix. Just like the poster thread, this is a very cool thread.
  10. I don't have much of a collection also, but it does have some interesting stuff. Here's what I was able to get easily from my office. What is not shown is the original Macross Manga in color, the Frontier Manga, anything Robotech related, Macross II RPG books, and Macross 7 Trash manga, Macross Ace, or Macross Chronicles. Here's just the meat of what I have:

    Flight Simulators?

Still, that alone is just absolutely awesome, does it use the same concept as far as creating the mods as the old one? If so, you and I should get back on board with this game, and work on the new one. I'd like to do the Macross characters again. Also, how many people go online and play this game? Is it still a big number?

    Flight Simulators?

Oh, forgot to ask, does that one tranform in the game?

    Flight Simulators?

Dude, that pic of the 1S is just absolutely awesome. Is that a new version of OFP?
  14. Lines are done. Hikuro, email me if you need anything fixed, or need additional lines. Can't wait to start seeing updates of this coming out.
  15. My wife and entourage will be there (j/k). We are going, and so are a few of our friends. Afterall, it is Macross integral. Definitely should be a good time. I don't know the logistics of all that will be going on, but our friend's band will be playing, and that will make it all the worthwhile time.
  16. My wife and I will be there once again. I hope to be as much involved as possible on this con as ever before. Good times ahead, indeed.
  17. Correct. It was also the cover art for the Hasegawa 1/72 model kit. When I did my 1/55 custom, I used that Valkyrie artbook to paint it up. I also used his Elintseeker picture to customize my 1/55 Bandai Elintseeker. I'm taking sack lunches to work now to save for the upcoming boom in Macross toys. Especially 2 seaters, which I love. As far as the question of rushing the VF-1D out. I don't think it was rushed. The cockpit is designed the way it's supposed to be, and if it did have the Elint type canopy, it would be inaccurate. I like the fact that Yamato is taking the time out to design these to look anime accurate, and are being much more strict about the design than with the v.1 1/60s. Also, Graham, I'd love to see pics of your VF-1D, from the perspective of an owner. It seems sometimes that the company photos are a bit too overworked on, and seeing the pics of one's very own collected item is more fun to see. Anyways, pics would be awesome.
  18. In my profession, moreso the agency I work for, we are among the highest paid in the industry. I still get a $1 and change raise every 6 months, and all I can do is feel very blessed. It took a long time for me to get where I am now, and for most of my life, I've had to work just to keep afloat. I've definitely paid some dues. My job is stressful though, even for the decent wage I make. I certainly can't wait for the day when things move on the upswing, and we are all talking about how much cheaper Valks will get due to the power of the dollar and the good chunk of change we are all making. Oh, and to clarify my last post, I put my money in a credit union specifically created for my department. Interest is crap at standard banks, where we earn a decent 3.75%
  19. Hey guys, for those of you that met up in NorCAL, send us some pix of the hangout. There was a hangout yesterday for SoCAL. Let's see the pics!!!
  20. In times like this, unfortunately in hard times, it means job security for me. Although my job is about as secure as one can be, I suppose, it's still a scary thing to see so many friends have to deal with issues such as this. I work in civilian law enforcement, so the more crazy people get, the more crime rises. Likewise, the more crime rises, the more we're needed. I'm still able to buy the toys I want, but have been a little more wary of what I order, simply because of the dollar to yen rate, which is an atrocity. Also, I've been putting money away for the "rainy day" and to save for a house and all that as well. I do feel for those of you having to ride out the storm of this economy, cause I've been there more than once before. It's not a fun ordeal, but if anything, having friends and support does help, and what doesn't kill you can make you stronger, if you allow your mentality and actions to build character. Sounds stupid, and like a cliche, I know, but the fact is, nobody can change what's happening, they can only work things out for themselves and their respective families.
  21. As most of you, I too, have received my shipping notice late last night. This is probably my highest anticipated VF-1 to date. Those pics above look amazing.
  22. I agree, she's hot, but the costume isn't much for saying "Sheryl". Now, put her in the blue military concert uniform, then you're talking Sheryl.
  23. That's what I wished for when originally buying these. I would've been more than happy to have that Klan Klein figure stand next to my Miriya CMs set. I would've done some custom work to put Klan's head on one of those Miriya figs, and put her in the Q-rau. Oh well, maybe sometime later, CMs can put these out.
  24. Hubba, Hubba!!! Now that is one beautiful sculpt!!! Finally having a spot on VT-1, VF-1D, and later, a VE-1 is just awesome. I don't necessarily have need for 2 each, but maybe, just maybe, I'll get 2 of the VE-1. So, are they doing one a month now, or 2 releases a month? Doesn't leave much room for buying much else.
  25. I should have my stuff to you by the 24th or 25th. I'm gonna pop up the fan subbed editions and listen through it a few times... Then I'll get my lines to you. I also wanna test out this mic I just picked up.
