As Einhejar pointed out on the previous page, that is the exact treatment. From what I gathered from Tommy's friends and from the way the whole incident went down, that is the real deal that they probably tried, or are pushing for the sequel. I guess by the reaction of the fanboys, they won't be using those ideas. In anycase, I just wanna see more Macross, and see it come over here. Imagine how much bigger it'd be if it was able to be brought over here with no half-assed co. to inadvertently keep it from coming over?

I hear you on that...Some of the product coming will be quite hefty. That SDF-1 is a definitel must for me. I've reserved myself to buying only 1/60 scale Macross products, and of course, the odd and obscure things, like this helmet, and the SDF-1. I'm definitely prepared for the big price of some of these items. Kinda planning out my budget for specific items. Good thing for the SDF, is that it won't be out til next year.

Look here:http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24926&hl=English+dub It is downloadable as well.

Yeah, I'll put them up when I get it. So, there seems to be two of us that may be getting these? Anyone else?

This wasn't a script, but a breakdown of how the movie would go. While I'm sure it was an early draft, based on when it was written, it had virtually no saving qualities about it. Script can be open to much more interpretation than a treatment. Anyways, the only way to save that treatment was to get rid of it, which when it got leaked, the fact that Tommy didn't stand by his own work may prove that they weren't gonna use it. His most loyal fans trashed his work that he passed off as not his work. There was some other things I heard about the sequel that sounded promising, so when that time comes, we'll see what they produce. Overall, I think the general consensus here is that HG's biggest problem is that their franchise still hasn't come into it's own, as it's still creating/trying to create a show based off of borrowed or stolen designs (however you wish to perceive it). The predicament is that without those borrowed/stolen designs, robotech has no identity, but in order to come into its own, it needs to move away from the "borrowed/stolen" work. It seems like Robotech had more going for it when they didn't have a new series coming. I think the new stuff really divided their fanbase and hurt their franchise more than help. No matter how many times they'll say they are growing, the facts are telling a different story. Like I've said before, my biggest hope is that WB decides to take over the franchise, and somehow, that opens up windows for Macross product to come over here. If not, it's no different from where we are today.

It was in thier newsletter. If you ask if they can get more or order, they will provide you with the info. I didn't see a specific preorder for it. I'd really like to see the inside of these to see if they are actually wearable (not that I plan to wear it all over the place, but would like to at least take a pic with it on. Anyways, write to over-drive and ask them about it. They are a great company to work with, since they try to get stuff for you, even if they don't have it in their stock, or plan to carry it.

I'm selling most of the stuff I can live without, and plan on going strictly 1/60 for Yamato, and for these helmets. I guess every once-in-awhile, I have that need to buy something exclusive. This and my 1/4 or 1/5 Minmay doll will be my two exclusive things I will have for now. Seeing one of the members here with the helmets, they are just amazing to look at. Getting these at less than half the price, same quality, is a real blessing. I'm also not spending my current finances on it, but am letting go of parts of my other collection I've been able to live without.

Robotech has had it's share of faults, and I can't really say "Down with HG" for attempting to bring over Macross back in 85. Originally, that was their plan, but with syndication guidelines, they couldn't, and mashed the 3 series together so that it could air on television. While I was fortunate to know about Macross back in 1984 before Robotech. It might have taken a long time for me to actually see all of Macross if it wasn't for Robotech. Aside from my introduction to Macross, there's tons of Macross fans who wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Robotech's first airings on t.v. The point where I draw the line is where they are still using someone else's work, art, and general premise of a story to create their series. Then, they disgrace the art (in my opinion) by half-assing the CG, and putting it to such a garbage, unintelligent "sequel". Oh, in regards to the Tommy/Steve Yune treatment. Back in the day, when I knew a lot of Tommy's close Robotech friends, and occasionally even talked with Tommy, one of his friends came over to my house and was talking about a treatment for the sequel to RTSC. He didn't mention a title, but certain events that the treatment had in it that just wreaked of amateur writing. I remembered these descriptions cause it was all very new to me, as I hadn't heard anything about any swquel yet. Anyways, fast forward months to a year later (not sure of the exact time, and I'm on the net, and I get a message from a buddy telling me to look at a blog site that supposedly had one of Tommy's treatments. I go to the blog site (site has been long since removed it appears from HG), and see this scan or whatnot of a pitch or treatment from Tommy and Steve Yune. As I read it, I remember the story Tommy's fan buddy tells me, and it all clicks to me. this is what he read and had told me that time before. Anyways, I watched to see what would happen and what would happen with that guy who posted some weird story of how he obtained the treatment (don't remember). There was some blog Kevin, Tommy go on and deny that Tommy even wrote it, and everybody, natually believed the story Tommy said. At first, I didn't know if I should just write it off or not, but when I first read the blog with the Tommy treatment, I saved it to my computer. The fact that those in charge at HG were so quick to shut down that guys blog, their podcast, and the quick denial, made me think, "you know, you don't act so extreme over something that's a stupid lie, or worthless print. Anyways, taking in all I was told before, actions afterward, I came to the conclusion that it was in fact really Tommy's, and if you read it and had any concern or dislike for Robotech, after reading it, you were gonna definitely just abandon the series after reading it. So, what is HG doing now? I have no clue, nor do I really care. When the Shadow Rising comes out, I'll know what decisions they made as far as the story goes, as will probably everyone else who had a chance to read that treatment. as far as what they do now, I think they just go on these worthless conventions, talking about how well their franchise is supposedly doing, and make that speech saying that they have so much going on, but they can't say anything about it (B.S. for, "We don't have anything to show you guys cause we haven't done anything.") They don't have a story yet for movie or sequel, and they haven't even begun production on either. One's on hold till the other is released, and the LAM is looking less and less likely it'll even be made. I agree with the statement above that Gubaba made. It woudn't be so bad if Macross products were accessable here in the U.S. It's annoying to know that HG set up BW to not want to deal with them, then point the finger at BW for not wanting to do business with them. It's a testament to the Macross franchise that even in it's "Japan only" state, it has extreme success despite. It's not a series that flaunts itself as the greatest thing since sliced bread, but simply knocks out a decent series, or OVA, and backs it up by product after product.

Did your Klan come with the helmet she's supposed to be holding in her right hand? I don't think it's a bootleg, more like a factory defective one maybe. Either way, you're the first I know of to have one. Good score. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it.

Through Over-drive-inc.com, I just got a confirmation that I will be able to order one of the soon to be (re-released) 1/1 scale Yamato DYRL Hikaru helmets. I was wondering if anyone will be getting these, and if so, how many? I have ordered only one, as I will also be awaiting the other 2 to come out. I know there's one, perhaps two people here, who got the first helmets way back when, and paid a hefty price for them. These new ones, to my knowledge, are the exact same as those, and run for about $500 each. Does anyone have any good pics of the new helmets coming in? I saw one the other day, but don't remember where I saw it.

Ahhh, but a lot of it does make sense. Reading through that blog gives a lot more truth than simply what is told. Robotech is a hurthing franchise. Even if their live action movie does get made, I don't think it's gonna do well enough to make any money. My only hope is that if that happens, good ol' Frank Agrama will decide to just give up on trying to create more Robotech. Hopefully that'll be a sign for Tommy to go back to drawing for comic books, and Kevin can go back to being one of those airport shuttle drivers, since that's his real resume. I've already read the treatment for Shadow Rising that Tommy and Steve wrote from that blogger guy, and based on conversations from fans close to Tommy that I talked to in the past, they gave me the scoop on it being from them. If any of it makes their next animated series, There will be a total meltdown of the franchise. Luckily, I saved the file of it when it was up on the net a year or two ago. Depending on what comes onto screen from that will say a lot,,, did they give into that crap that got spilled, will they do what looked promising even at its early stages, or are they completely rewriting it. Time will tell. Perhaps one day, as Robotech starts to fall by the wayside, WB will buy it and then BW and Studio Nue will want to open up talks with them. Who knows, I'm just flipping a penny into a big wishing well.

My wife made it, and was thinking of making more, like a Hikaru one, perhaps some others for comedic value. Might even make the tees by MWcon, but that's very up in the air right now.

In regards to the "marketing" HG does, I find it absolutely funny that they have one guy who makes like $13/hr to be their PR guy, say stuff like "Robotech is expanding", "We are growing", but have absolutely nothing to show for it. Then, a bunch of blowhards make their "We Will Win" posts by saying, "Thanks for telling us the truth", "HG is great". Then, they still believe that whole lame ass excuse of "We don't say anything cause we are doing so much" BS. Kevin reminds me of Gary Gnu from Great Space Coaster, "No Gnews is good Gnews!", then again, that's insulting to Gary Gnu, at least he was somebody, even if a puppet. Kinda reminds me of something else, from AIG execs: "AIG is doing well, we are thriving in this economy" Meryl Lynch execs, "Meryl Lynch will continue to grow" It's all to comedic, seeing the used car salesman line some of those poor saps believe over there. As far as licensing, HG has 2 or 3 licensees left for current product, that's Toynami, and Palladium. ADV expires soon, like this month or something, although they still have SDF:M, Southern Cross, and Mospeada. I don't see them milking that again.

The advice here is great. I think the only difference that I do is I use a small, soft paint brush to put the decals on. Wetting the brush in water allows me to correct the position of the decal if I have to, and make sure it's exactly where I want it to be. Then, when I have that done, I use the Q-tip and pat down the decal. Thes puts the decal onto the plastic/paint, and also absorbs the water. Decal softener, it really depends on the brand of decals. For Anasazi's, I used decal softener, but just slightly. You may not need it if the surface is smooth enough, and you are planning to seal the valk in a top coat.

That was gonna be my explanation as well. Perhaps future non-canon paint schemes could at least be done with this specific armor. How about a civilian version, or construction version??? Might be kinda cool.

LOL, your man card has been revoked! You may get it back after you attend the mandatory man show allowable classes... (For those with sticks where the sun doesn't shine, learn what jokig is.)

Xeros, is there any update on DVD 8 and on? The subs we have for the remastered are from central anime? Does that mean that there will be updated subs to put on the DVDs 1-7?

Yeah, tell me about those jobs we all punch a clock to...My job is stressful as can be, I get strange days off, and people are just a pain to deal with. On the good note, I just got a significant raise and saw it on this paycheck, so I'll have a little more room to buy stuff while saving. Hikuro, I hope you get more people wanting to audition for the missing parts and all. It'd suck to have this on halt. Perhaps creating another thread here for episode two may help or something.

I agree, this topic seems to be dragging a bit, and the O/T discussion has been going for quite sometime. Something I wonder if the original starter of this thread is even watching it (doubt they have any cahones to write back, as demonstrated). Anyways, I smell lockage on the way shortly.

I'll be a happy camper when the first set of Macross F is done. How many more voices are you looking for? One of my co-workers has a perfect voice for Canalia. The drawback, she hasn't done voice acting before, but is really interested in it. She also doesn't know much about anime either, unless you count Transformers. OT here, but Che, that screenshot of the ice field is pretty damn inspiring, and if the rest of the show is going on that detail. it's gonna be a damn good show.

Fire!....Bomba!!! I'm getting this DVD when it comes out in a couple days. That DVD just looks like a lot of fun to watch.

D-Unit, now that's a badass way to display your collection. Nice job. I'd display mine if it wasn't in various places, and if I could actually get into my office. The toys are all in the way.

It seems to me, that many people here have a sense of entitlement when it comes to what Macross should be. Because Macross F wasn't exactly what they expected, they won't accept it, or like it. While there are some things that definitely aren't going to appeal to the hardcore original fans (we are a bit older now), Macross F did exactly what the creator wanted it to do, it made money, created tons of merchandise profits, and made more fans of the series, even if short term fans. I think this series appeals to the general demographic of anime viewers, wether here or in Japan. What's good about it is that even with the complaints that we all have, some more than others, we are all here, have seen it, and are still talking about it. I guess my biggest complaint of the show was the ambiguous ending that leaves that "WTF" question. For the other complaints, I've watched enough modern anime to have a good concept of what's popular and what sells in anime. A lot of that is what is in Macross F. While it doesn't appeal to most here, it's there, it is what it is, and I don't think they detract from the depth of the show enough to have serious complaints. The show still has it's complexities, and definitely enough mecha to drool at. I've realized after Macross Zero that you can't compare all shows afterward to the original. If you do that, you'll always find something to gripe at. I'd rather just enjoy each series in the Macross franchise for what it is, and tie the stories together afterward. If anyone disagrees with me, that's fine, these are just my thoughts on all of it. We're all gonna have our different takes on this subject, so I don't expect all to nod their head in agreement at me.

A golden rule of thumb here is, if he was to buy a similar item, and he found out it had the same stress marks and damage, and he had no clue about it, or he thought he was getting a perfectly good item, how would he feel? Friend or not, if someone I knew was doing that, I'd report it. I don't need friends who aren't honest. If they're willing to be dishonest for the world to see, how can I trust them with anything regarding my personal life? To answer your first question, I still see the low vis 1 going for up to $300, but that's with no problems, and in pristine condition. So, a price range for a great condition one would be $250-$300. I've been looking cause I'm probably gonna be selling mine soon.
