I think I have extra pics of the outfit somewhere on another computer that is put away. If I can get those images out, I'll see if I can get the one of the back. As far as material for the shirt underneath, it's a stretchy typs fabri. Also, the neck part of it is like a collar that connects at the top, then buttons at the base of the line around the sternum. The suit probably needs to head to a dry cleaner, but it's held up well. Probably also needs a little bit of sowing, but not too much. As far as my wife as Misa, she wore it once just to see what it would look like, but it didn't really fit her. She has a much smaller body than the costume designer made. I guess a taylor could fit the skirt or take it in. I have a couple pics, but she didn't want them put up, so I have to respect her decision. Also, since she frequents this site, it would be bad if she saw them here (in her opinion), but I think she looks fine in it. Mercurial, you should post up pics. I'd like to see what youve put together. Also, it's your work. I don't have any sewing skills, or costume making skills at all, so to see something you made would be cool.

It's pretty intricate, it's zippered inside, all pockets are functional, and it's designed to wear. The only thing is that the jacket is thick, and tight (not tight fitting). I guess that kinda fits the feel of military dress jackets. Movement is a little restrictive, but that's the way it is. As far as setting me back, I think it was about $800 or so. Again, it's not cut and paste material, althought the boots need some touch up work. Anyways, I may display it at MWcon 09 as well.

Just sent in my 50% payment to secure my helmet, and am now just waiting.

And, here's my own cosplay, made from an actual costume designer. This is made ot of the same fabric (jacket) that is from the Marin A-class fatigues. Anyways, without further ado, here it is. Last one

Official MacrossWorld Con 2009 Information Thread
Jasonc replied to KiriK's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Hey, just gauging interest here from those setting this up and whatnot, but as you see my avatar, my wife did the design, and I was thinking of making t-shirts with this one, and perhaps a Hikaru one. I'm just gauging interest now, and seeing what the general consensus would be for them. Anyways, just thought I'd throw that out there. Let me know. -
Perhaps it'll be out Cinco de Mayo (May 5th). I can get my VF-11 w/ a Corona and a sombrero. Seriously though, the wait on this is killing me. While I do like the VF-1s that are coming, for the most part, they are all the same (except the 2 seaters). Seeing stuff that isn't the norm is what I really like, and waiting on this is like being a kid again waiting for Christmas day. I can't wait to see new pics too. Perhaps that will quench my desire for a bit.

Then I must say, good job on capturing the drama of the moment in that scene with proper music. It fits nicely, and no issues it seems.

Well, she does Sheryl proud. I do have to say unfortunately, I haven't seen a cute "American" Sheryl yet. Most cosplayer woman are usually a little on the extra chunky side. Most anime characters have that size 0 to size 6 body at most. Stupid Fast food nation. This year, I'll have a camera for anime expo.
-
Yeah, I agree, your avatar rocks!!! Makes me think of Duran Duran (...And I'm hungry like the wollllllfff!!!) Damn, I'm a child of the 80s.

The Macro Klan is a great cosplay, too bad she's not all that hot (IMHO). But great work on the costume. Hmmm, maybe I'll dork out this year and do Bobby for Anime Expo. Hahaha

In going back to this, Medmapguy was doing a lot of art and contributing to making this publication. The person he was working with, I believe might have been a member here, was in talks with Tommy and co. Well, to make a long story short, Medmapguy had some choice things to say about the way the franchise and story was going. Somehow, Tommy was pointed to his blog, and read it. So, Tommy took offense to it, and decided that the fan publication was a no go unless Medmapguy was cut out of it. So, being the great "professional" that Tommy is, he basically said, in not such short words, that if the publication is to be made, MedMapGuy, and his work, have to be cut from the publication. As to what extent, and after that, I don't know what happened from there. All-in-all, much of MMG's work was for not, as he was one of the big original contributors to the work. Really kinda sad. As far as a "Robotech Codice", the idea very well could've been thought of before Macross Chronicle, but they seem to be 2 totally different things. 1)Macross Chronicle is a licensed product, with stats and details from the creators, while Robotech Codice is 2)Seeming to be another fan project taken from the original creators, and from other half-baked books. I will say, that if Memo is working on it, that's a good thing. At least they have someone dedicated. It also means that Tommy and Co. are helping out to some extent or another. The drawback is that HG's lack of doing anything with true originality again is shown. Also, they're just gonna leave it to the fans to do all the work, while they pretend to be doing stuff with Shadow Rising, and act as if they are in charge of the Live action movie.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.4
Jasonc replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So, for us that have the "old" Alto, we're screwed in attaching a fold booster onto it? -
She makes a great Nanase!, As for the boob thing, the angle can be a bit misleading. In anycase, her face matches well. She gets an A+ for the look.
-
Not bad at all so far. Can't wait to hear when it's mixed completely and all lines are in. Was any part of that with alternative music, or was that the same that was in the original Japanese?

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.4
Jasonc replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Just got my Alto super parts today and had a chance to fit them on the Valkyrie. Surprisingly, these fit very well on the Valkyrie, and didn't have any problems fitting the parts on. The only part that comes off slightly easy is the left and right hip intake covers. Other than that small complaint, it's pretty solid. I am happy about this set, I can only hope when I get Luca and Michel, that those are as solid. -
I put my ladies on my dresser so I can "touch them", LOL, just kidding. I have no shelf space anymore, so that's where they'll stay for awhile. My wife thinks they are pretty damn cool, and that's alright w/ me. Glad you got the others ff95g.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a problem yet, more of a small hassle. If the pegs start breaking everywhere, then it's a problem.
-
Had the same issue on it. I don't know why it was such a hassle with the 1D, but it does close after some work. That's also without the figures in the cockpit. I wonder if they just didn't make the locking pegs long enough on the new cockpit. Also, if you have to push down that hard to get it to close properly, does that mean that there is more force trying to make the canopy pop up? Perhaps that's why Crazy Canuk's canopy was broken. The only grace to this, is that it seems to be somewhat isolated as far as breakage. That's a good thing.

My wife understands that this is anime characters. They come in different shapes and sizes. I guess it also helps that my wife likes Macross, Robotech, and all that in between. Aside from the boobs, she likes Klans character as a whole, and what aspects she finds ridiculous in design, is made up in character. Honestly, if my wife thought negatively of my collection, and I knew I was going to get a very hard time over it, I'd probably stick it in a closet as well, and take it out later. Then I could truthfully say, "I've had this for awhile". My ex-wife was insecure to no end, and hated it when I first started collecting. But I think every guy has to have a hobby, and on this board, this seems to be our hobby. Good luck on making it all work out.

See, that's what I thought as well. I also thought they kinda re-canonized the size to reflect what Kawamori wanted later on. That's more of what I was getting at. Well, I guess they're keeping the same dimensions as before? I guess this should mean that when I get my 1/60 VF-11, it's gonna be about the same size as the VF-1's? I hope not. Paying $200 almost for a toy that small is a shame. HERE'S TO MY 1000TH POST!!!

The anime series, all 3 of them, are pretty damn good. Part 1 and 3 are serious stories with a lot of comedy in it, part 2 is more of a light, straight comedy series. I really don't see how they can keep this like the original in any way possible. Zack Effen Effren? WTF? That's already disaster in the works. Sosuke Sagara isn't even American, as one pointed out. I think that these movie companies need to wake up and realize that creating garbage movies and slapping an anime title on it, isn't gonna bring in fans. Anyways, I wonder who they're gonna cast as Kaname, or Tesa. Probably more High School Musical Brats.
-
VT-1 preordered. One of the most anticipated VF-1s ever.
-
Your wife would have a problem with the sculpt? Would she really allow you to keep it if the breast were smaller? My wife just laughed, thought it was kinda funny, but she did like the sculpt. She thinks the Sheryl one is the best overall. I love all 3 of them, but the Klan has wider lips on the sculpt than the anime. Still, no complaints, these look amazing when put all together.
-
In looking at the new Macross Chronicles, it appears that the VF-11 isn't much bigger than the VF-1. I thought it was going to be bigger? Or perhaps I'm just looking at the size comparison and trying to figure out why the 19, 11, and 1 look like they're the same size.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Good luck in your travels. Talk with you soon.
