Here's more pics: These were just some of the main ones I got. Hope to see more pics from others. Sorry I couldn't remember who's all these great customes and toys were. So many toys and displays were mingled together, and I'm tired. -

OK, some pics Sorry I can't shrink these. Never been able to shrinnk them properly. -
This is probably the reason why BW hasn't even bothered talking to HG. Wether or not everyone trusts the internet for purchasing, the fact is, there are more and more people that do everyday, and the commerce and internet buying traffic is growing exponentially. BW knows that wether or not there's someone working here in the U.S. selling there stuff for a cut of it, it wouldn't matter. They sell it over here anyways. In just going to the AX 09 con, there were so many cosplayers of Macross Frontier, and some of Mac7, you'd think it was a huge mainstream release here in the U.S. Now let me ask you, how many cosplayers of Shadow Chronicles do you see? These aren't the tell all proof, but a damn good case why you'll never see BW working with the same people that they feel (wether right or wrong) cut them out by taking the name Macross. Macross has a world market, and it's exclusively for Japan. It doesn't need to "sleep with the enemy" to survive. HG does their business in there way, and they are successful, and BW, Yamato, and all those associated only in Japan do business their way, and they have their own success.

Awesome pics, and good times seeing the old and new people. It was different not seeing some of the regulars around, but for all that showed up, you all helped make it a very special 2 days. Special thanks to the UCLA crew for letting Macrossworld set up and for making it a very organized and fun event. Also, thanks Tommy for the great presentation on Photoshop. Lots of great stuff in there to learn and use. Thanks Bee for the organization and for getting it all together with sponsors, and for cool raffles, thanks NMB4M for the awesome SDF-1 cake, and for all the great karaoke, games, and everything that I didn't get to put a face or name to. Awesome work. We will have some pics up soon. -
If you need an old man voice still, I can give it a shot. I can do that pretty well.

Alright guys, got home from work awhile ago, and have the goodies packed up. Save, Minmay has her Chinese dress, and it looks awesome. I'm sure many pics will be taken. I also have Paper monster, the Banpresto figs, and I will bring the Gamlin VF-22 for those who haven't seen that. Also, let me know if anyone wants me to bring my posters. Probably not as extensive as some, but they are always nice to look at. -

What I'll bring: Nothing for customs unless anyone hasn't seen the old 1/55 customs, but I will bring the Macross F Banpresto statues, and the 1/5 scale Minmay, choose Chinese or DYRL dress? As for anything else, I will find other stuff that maybe on the rarer side, if I have anything else. -
All I can say about "juicy" news is that whether it's expected or not, can still be interesting. While I do agree that Toynami has been behing the curve in toy design and scope, perhaps they will be putting out enemy mecha. If it's not at the same scale as the MPCs (1/55 or 1/60), I really don't care, but that's me personally. Anyways, If it's the Regult in one of those scales, it'll be quite large, if an Invid, I can't see them being more that $40. I guess we'll just wait and see. BTW, why are you holding out on the news? It's all still speculation (although reliable) until an official announcement?
-
LOL, pretty pretty pictures. Thanks for posting those here. Eye candy doesn't always come in 1/60 scale.

How old are those model kits? Is it possible that the court decisions were made after the kits were released, and that HG has the same legal claims to that, as they do with Macross?
-
Mmmm, yummy Mechwarrior FTW. If it gets some good reviews, I'll be getting this game, and having a go of it. As for the licensing issues behind it. I hope someone's not waiting till the 11th hour to put out a C&D letter out. The game looks like it could be quite good...possibly.

Hmmm, I wonder why they would judge you as one of the negative people. Aside from here, your post on rt.com have been more than decent and fair, Seto. As I can only read what's on the forum, at least it's good to know that some people on their are still fair. People like GM Murdock, and the few others I've read on their, at least they have a good take on the whole thing. It's good that Sanman's stupid thread got locked. It seems like Maverick has a hard-on for you, as well as Steve, if they're going to gossip like little old ladies about you. I'd say, if they are trying to get rid of you, just keep doing what you're doing. The fact that Steve hasn't responded proves the point that they're to chicken $h!t to really respond to the issue at hand. The fact that you like RT and Macross, and don't agree with all they've done clearly is a threat to them (as ridiculous as that is). As once a mod over there, I never would've warned you over there for the statements you made on the 80s icon thread. However, I do know that they do have a watchdog list of people they'd like to ban, and basically wait for those people to screw up and say something they shouldn't. When that happens, that's when they'll ban you, and justify that as the reason they have you on perma-ban. They did that for people who didn't necessarily start trouble on their site alone either. They'll make up stuff too, as long as it fits their purpose. That's how Chrisk was banned, Darkwater, and a few others. So, if they have you on the hitlist, Seto, bring up your valid points when they do it, prove your point, and it'll be their loss, for having one less knowledgable person informing their camp.

Seifrietti's fan artbook isn't going anywhere from what I know. ChrisK may have some idea of this, maybe not, but Tommy's been giving him a runaround for so long on that thing. Truth is, Tommy's not gonna let that thing through as it seems. If it's not Tommy's idea, it's vaprowareas far as a licensed release. I don't know if it's worth even contributing anything to it at this point, since it seems like it's going the way of the dinosaur. As for Memo, I know Memo does a lot of stuff for the fanbase that's left, and it's agreed that it does take a lot of blind devotion to do something like that. To provide so much leg work for them, promoting, marketing, and all that, and not even get anything but a pat on the back, very few people would spend that kinda time doing that.
-
Ah man, wish I could help you out there, but I really don't know. I've never ordered from there. All I know is that I haven't been able to find any copies of the first issue anywhere (except maybe ebay), and that is quite pricey. Perhaps if you create a thread in the wanted forum, maybe someone's got an extra one they can sell you. Just be prepared to pay a little more, I think.

Gubaba, sent you a pm about it. It was a lot of work, but I think it came out pretty well. Since it's not my translation, I can't, and won't put it up until there's an OK. Even then, Gubaba sent the translation, so he should be the one to decide when. Hopefully the true fans who can be respectful of the work done can treat it well if it does get on here. Can't wait to see vol.002. I put in my order for it, but it's been awhile.

I was reading more on that rt.com thread, that guy has got some serious issues to deal with in his personal life. Somehow, somewhere in that thread, all the Macross purists of the world are in his thread, attacking his childhood, making outlandish claims, and bashing Robotech to no end. So much so, that now he's resorted to name calling and probably whining to the mods and staff. GM Murdock, whom I know, is making some good points, and now he's a Macross purist??? Hahaha!!! I also like the Ben_G guy's post...A Robotech fan being embarrased by other Robotech fans. Classic. This thread is a great example of how the website is supposed to think. If you don't agree with all of Robotech and their decisions, then you are completely against them. Oh, poor HG, long are the days when they actually had a large number of intellectual postings and members.

My wife, a couple friends, and I watched the AMVs at AX. This was the last video of the night, and we voted for it as best in it's class. It was a very cool video, and woke us up from some other very dull AMVs. Very well done. Thanks for putting the link up of it.

Maverick LSC has some serious issues. Sanman can call people a troll, and that's not attacking? Ah, give it to the blowhards for making all our points so valid everytime. LOL, Seto, one would think you pooped on Sanman's childhood the way he's crying and throwing a damn hissy fit. As for Kevin, let's get started: KEVIN WROTE: I like how he leaves out the major important factor in all this... WB, Sony, Marvel, all them have multiple franchises that they handle. HG has the one, and it's one that they mismanage, not just 23 years ago, but starting from 23yrs ago. I like how he's taking a moderately successful sale of RTSC, and rationalizing Robotech as a whole, as a super successful, well run franchise. KEVIN WROTE: Yep, that' your opinion, along with about a few thousand other people. The only problem is that, it's a compliment to Robotech, which isn't the case. I don't think it was meant in that fashion. KEVIN WROTE: OK, if that was an attempt at being sarcastic, or trying to be a smartass, I think he just ate $h!t on that one. So, basically, Kevin, you're being original by being unoriginal? Somehow, I find this too damn funny. It was only somewhat successful because it was bought for nostalgia, don't get it twisted. Oh goodness, what's next... KEVIN WROTE: Isn't the Toynami packaged small cyclone Megahouse's cyclone 100%? Just Toynami packaging? C'mon Kevin, stop trying to pad your arguments with half truths. Oh, and the "availability of the cyclones", it's an easy sellout when you only have a very limited number of them available. That doesn't necessarily make the toys ultra successful. And not to take more away from this argument Kevin has, (yes I do), the "Cyclone" is also a product of Beagle. People buy them cause they are made by people who actually care about the product they put out. KEVIN WROTE: Why do anime/SF/Comic book cons keep inviting them? Answer: FACT, they don't invite them, Kevin sets up these cons by calling them and booking panels for the HG staff. And the reason why Kevin is so hardcore in calling every damn convention on the face of the planet is because before working for HG and making his $13/hr, he was one of those airport shuttle drivers. I'm sure his diligence in setting these up are to save his ass from going back to a job he probably didn't like. As for theatrical runs, hmmm, I wouldn't call it a theatrical run. A run would indicate that it was in theaters for a perios of time. RTSC was in a few theaters for one day only. If that's a run, what are you on? About the toys and merchandise, that's been explained so many times, read above. KEVIN WROTE: They don't have rivals cause they're not really worth the time. If they are referring to Macross, Kevin gives absolutely no facts here, so this is also a matter of opinion on what their competitors are as well. Kinda a lost statement. KEVIN WROTE: WTF??? So, Steve isn't the "webmaster"??? I find it funny that he'd mention that, to give the impression that they are doing all the fans such a great service by providing a website for the fans. Whoa, lookout now! HG is giving you soooo damn much, aren't they the humanitarians of the year? KEVIN WROTE: OK, I'll stay tuned... As for the Beta, nothing was going to happen with that until a specific thread I started years ago got many fans together to voice that they wanted it. Tommy had told me back then that they probably weren't gonna do one because it'd cost upwards of $200, and the demand for such an item wasn't there. HG never had the intent to try to push for the Beta, it was the demand of fans put onto Toynami, but hey, that's HG taking credit for stuff they didn't do, and claiming it as their own. Man, that was a lot of quoting stuff. They're probably scared $h!t1e$$ to have me back on the site and say the things they don't want others to know, or speak some reasonable facts to them, so I'll just do it there. I'm sure they read this section. Funny thing is, I'm still a fan of the series, not anything new of it, but of the 1985 through 87 airing.

As bad as some of those side stories were from those comics, at least Robotech had stuff moving, even when there was no mention of Robotech via an internet, or any other media. It all was hit or miss, but there were a couple good stories. As far as fanfic vs. not fanfic, I'd kinda go along the lines that if it was officially licensed, I can't really call it simply a fanfic. Even if some of the crap made no sense, and was very loosely related to the core of Robotech, it was what it was, and it kept some fans interested for quite sometime.
-
Oh, I think you know, I've long since abandoned that area. I've been in there a whole one time, and there's not really anything that really stand out. Anything that's Robotech related is pretty much stuff you could buy or find. As for the Doug Bendo thing, I have yet to listen to that podcast. Maybe since I have the day off, I'll listen in. It'll be very interesting if he has now resorted to calling names. If you don't like Macross, that's one thing, but damn, be a little civil about it. Maybe the frustration of wanting to support a boring franchise is a bit much?
-
Don't know if this was said or not, but I finished with Gubaba's translations and put them into the scans. It's done.
-
The ideas will keep coming as long as Yamato has the income and licenses to generate them. I'm sure the VF-1s are their top sellers, otherwise, they'd probably not make them as much, if at all. While I would like to see a VF-4, 5000, VA-3, etc. you can't really complain about the VF-1s coming out. Would it be better if nothing came?

Not sure exactly where you can find those posters specifically, but I usually check ebay, and usually google for poster shops. Did you have in particular you were looking for? I was actually hoping to find a poster of Madox-01. Don't know if one exist or not.
