  1. These will be late Christmas gifts. I wonder how daunting the unassembled one will be?
  2. I finally got all my books together and out of all the boxes, and I didn't realize how many different books I had. While I don't collect the Doujin stuff, it may be a next option. Next month comes the new Valkyrie files book that should be for the YF-19. That'll be the next one I'm waiting for. Does anyone else have any large book collections to post? It's always cool seeing what books you're missing and all, and the rare stuff.
  3. The good thing about the Imagineasian is that it has the english dubbed version that didn't stretch the entire series. Sad, cause it was quite good. But the option is there to hear it in English or Japanese. I'm working on getting copies for a few people for the remastered M7 w/ english subs. When I'm done with that, if I can copy these discs successfully, I'll make copies for those who need them. Just don't bum rush me for them. I may need to get a new DVD burner (external) to supplement all the burning I've been doing. So, no one has any idea of the scale of the new Orguss toy???
  4. Mmmmm, Yoko. She's fan service with a big @ss gun. My kinda woman!!! LOL

    Decals

Yeah, I've been working on making some as well, especially in light of the new unbuilt wht VF-1s that are coming from Yamato. My work has been mostly on scanning an reproducing, but the decals with different shades of white is an issue. I guess I could still print on clear and different scales of white will be fixed by varying amounts of black or grey pigments. So far, I have worked out the sizing more or less for the MG Moon act (is that what it's called) set, and am now working on the Paris Act version. Being that the Valks are white helps a lot, but incase it doesn't, I've been looking into getting some done professionally Since I think the unbuilt Valks don't come out til February, I think I will keep testfitting till I'm 100% happy, then go from there. I do like the decals you got there. For anyone else who has knowledge of this art, what is a good decal brand to use? What did Anasazi use? Those decal sheets seemed to be of decent quality. Also, what do you use to seal them? is it just clear coat?
  6. Congrats man, that's good to hear. Aside from my small toy purchases here and there, I'm now saving up a little dough for the Macross Fever Pachinko game. That's my next big purchase. Hopefully I'll have it before MWcon2010. If that happens, I'll leave bringing helmets to the one who has the display to show them off (hint hint), and I'll bring the Pachinko game. I should also have a custom to show for this year, pending no other major issues. Right now, my helmets are in the giant boxes they came in, and in a large closet. I thought I wouldn't have any space, but it turns out I made just enough.
  7. And, while some fans have the series 2 or 3 times already, do you think there'd be a large number buying the series on Blu-ray? The fanbase is shrinking, and those that are still fans, how many would pay yet again to have Robotech's set? I was thinking that the heavy banning and no news is for two reasons. For the bannings, it's both ignorance from mods, and 2) HG does it so that negative word about the show, or franchise hit WB. As for no news, same reason. HG continues to say that all is well, simply because saying anything different will make it lose it's potential as a WB product. With no product, no updates, and nobody with the license to distribute their media in buyable format, all HG really has it their word right now, which has proven doesn't mean too much. I speculate as to whether or not the lack of news and appearance of a great franchise they are trying to generate is really going to work? I would be interested in seeing a LAM, but Robotech has gone into a reactive mode and defensive strategy, that is starting to bleed through its cover.
  8. Optimus Prime: "You mean, Sheryl will be performing on Cyberton? Deculture!!!"
  9. Ouch, glad I never saw the bootleg. For the toysdaily link, does anyone know what scale the Orguss will be in? That is great news to see someone making more Orguss toys. Hopefully it's around the 1/60 scale.
  10. Did you get any of them? I know there was a bootleg that came out a long time ago, but never got that, so I don't know how good that was.
  11. When Orguss was coming out through Imagineasian, I just so happened to look at righstuf.com, and saw that it was going to come out. Luckily, I was able to get the entire series. It's a lot of fun to watch, and the story is very good. I've seen it through twice. The only problem I have with the DVDs that Imagineasian put out aren't of the greatest quality. Nevertheless, they had it out in a 6 disc DVD box, and I think it's the first 14 episodes you can watch with the english dub, or is it 17...somewhere around there.
  12. I'm curious if Tomy will decide to renew the Macross license w/ HG, or will they ask for more money, or will it be business as usual?
  13. Thanks, forgot the name. So, my question following is this...Will this change the gameplan of renewing HG's license? Does Tomy have any relations with Bandai/Big West/Studio Nue??? I was thinking about this during work (which is odd, trust me). Just thought I'd put a question out there and see the various speculations fly here.
  14. What big company owns Tatsunoko now?
  15. I'm merely just a worker bee on the project, but it is being worked on. With the changes from the Ace version and the Manga, that does put a little bit of a hamper on it. Nevertheless, I'll let the translator announce it when it's time.
  16. Oh, forgot to add that I have the entire set of what this guy did. They are quite awesome. Razor, if we're meeting up tomorrow, I'll bring my laptop or bring a thumb drive of these if you want to get copies of them. You can maybe enlarge them if needed, or at least have a copy of them. Detailing the diorama from these should be easy.
  17. I don't know where I saw it here, but someone made printable paper covers for styrofoam that has city building and SDF-1 sheets. Here's a sample of some of them.
  18. If I got anything, I'd like just good health. I've been blessed with happiness, a wonderful wife, and expendable funds to buy the toys I'd like. I'd just like good health to continue doing the things I like and to keep my wife happy. But, if I do get a second choice at something materialistic, I'd like Santa to bring me the Macross Pachinko game!!!
  19. It's really quite an interesting book (WITH ALL THE PURDY PICTURES). Whether the book is canon or not on the speed, engine type and whatnot, is it more accurate in the Mac Chronicles? I've been looking through this book more lately since I preordered two of the Yamato plain white VF-1s and 2 of the unbuilt VF-1s. I want to do customs with all 4, and while 2 of them will be the 2 MG variations, the other two I want to do in a custom that hasn't really been done yet. The various squadron markings and colors are quite cool. If the next book will look anything like this, I'll be very excited to get 2 copies of that book as well.
  20. I have noticed some of the changes from Macross Ace to to the Manga, but overall, the changes seem to be somewhat minimal. I'm really liking the story (although a retelling). The slight changes from t.v. series to manga are quite interesting and help the story move along quite nicely. Can't wait to start working on the translations for the rest of this.
  21. Yeah, I should've added that in as well. While it would be nice to argue more, the fact that he brings nothing with him is a waste of time. That argument does outweigh my argument. Oh, and Seto, I forgot about that segment. I guess BW would have a decent case if the show was made today, but back then, it was different. Very interesting, indeed. That thread really proves a few things. 1) HG and the mods have been on a defensive standpoint for so long, they can't even answer a simple question without wasting two pages on rationalizing why they shouldn't and talking about NDAs. I think all that started out with one guy asking about footage that was shown at some convention. Then it was only after like 2 pages of stuff unrelated that the question got answered. Still, the mods have taken a defensive position and still persists to prove some point that isn't necessary. 2) It shows that the mods really do have their own agenda. While I didn't spend my time reading through every post, Memo kept plugging away at JT/Zen 72. I'm curious as to how JT belongs in their thesis of how NDAs work? Tommy, Steve, and Kevin have really let their fandom go, that's for sure. They've left it to the mods to destroy the rest. It seems like the only Robotech fans who have been unscathed so far are the fans who don't care enough about the franchise. They've been able to avoid all the drama. Thanks Chrisk for the link.
  22. Strangely enough, I wouldn't mind him back here to try and debate. His whole 5 posts amounted to absolutely nothing, and I think the mods had enough of his mindless babble before locking his posting privledges. All I know is that he's a nobody wanting to be somebody in this world, and he probably just needs a hug "Robotech style", with lots of Protoculter seeds and all that fluff. I never tried, or claimed to be anything I wasn't, but apparently he thinks I tried to start a Robotech following, and I've been banned way too many times. Now I see what makes many of you laugh so hard at this garbage. When someone tries to talk about you, you really get to hear just how wrong they are about many things. I just about fell out of my chair laughing when I heard all the things I supposedly do, and all the things I supposedly have done. Onto other topics like the Sentinel's mecha, I was actually OK with the new Tactical Battle pod. It's not a bad design, if it wasn't a straigh rip from the original. Of course, this was all before the court rulings, and it never did make it to production, but had it gone to production, could BW sued HG if they wanted to? (This hypothetical based on seeing those designs and it making it to the sentinel's episode they're in)
  23. What made me laugh is that he was using a voice software, due to the fact that he couldn't read. Then when the voice software pronounced my name, that's how it came out, so that's how he pronounces it. You know, if his show actually just talked more about the Robotech, less of the politics, and wasn't so mentally withdrawn, I'd actuall listen to his show once or twice. But listening to him talk, you might as well kill brain cells. You have to, to go down to his level. I have to admit, I laughed my ass off when he proclaimed to have about 950 listeners on his show. We already know he's lied about that, and the one time I went to his show while he was Broadcasting, I don't think there was more than 6-8 people on there. That's a long stretch from 900+. While I don't care about the numbers, it simply shows that what is reality, and what he perceives are just about as different as east from west. While I've always been a Macross fan, I do like some aspects of Robotech, and anyone who talks about that stuff can be interesting if done right. The misconception that I, or we hate all Robotech fans is what they keep pushing, to make it seem like we're just wrong about everything. Fact is, aside from a few rowdy so-called fans and the HG staff practices, I have no problems with fans who like their shows. Even if they like Shadow Chronicles, I'm not gonna try to steer someone away from what they like/don't like. It's a shame that it's always the few RT fans who spoil it for the many.
  24. I was over on a certain podcast, and somebody did get extremely butthurt, so much so, that all the facts of what transpired have all been changed. Supposedly, we are all scared and went running away, and supposedly, I'm a Robotech fan who fell really hard. Strange, since it's been no secret that I was a Macross fan before I was ever a Robotech fan. Also, supposedly Seto, you get all your info from me, I guess by mental telepathy, who the hell knows. Anyways, as I said before, it's good comedy listening to his so-called analysis of events that occurred. I'm sure he used every brain cell (all 5 of them) to come up with what he did. I didn't know I was trying to gather my own Robotech fandom, and that I've been banned several times. Hahaha, supposedly, I'm really scared, as if I'm trying to push some agenda. I must've really pissed him off something real, cause he basically made up about 90% of the story. Hahaha. you know, if I actually cared, I'd go on, but to waste my time on whiny-@ss crybabies is something I don't have the time to do. What I did notice, is that instead of actually reading the post on the podcast, he used some software to read the posts. And now, we have a clue as to the fact that he is indeed, illiterate. And now, the poor sap is schooled and back on his own rant. Great stuff.
  25. Man, makes me wish I met Johnny Depp a lot later than I did, maybe I could've asked him for a couple hundred grand.
