You must be HG's new hire, and you're trying to push Shadow Rising's next plot on us.
-
I don't think they'd be able to. The flow of Macross products moves so much, I think it'd take all the money they have to make it a possibility.
-
That's a quite impressive Mospeada display, showing the figures. Nice work!!!

I do remember that...Perhaps the biggest contributor to that magazine should shed light on it here, but if he doesn't, I'll summarize. Basically, there were 2 main people working on the fan book. One of them had a critical eye for HG, or moreso it's way of running things and it's content. The other guy wanted to get HG's permission to do it as a licensed product, and basically the conversation was that they'd do it on the condition that the "troubled" person bow out. Nevertheless, he did, and after he was off the project, the other guy still got screwed. From what I remember in seeing it, it was a good project, and very interesting. They should've just put it out, instead of waiting for someone at HG who won't push a product unless it's his idea through. Then, when it gained enough interest on its own, they could've went to HG with a bit more bargaining power. And yes, HP, you are right. If HG can't take control of it, then they won't have anything to do with it. Thus the reason why one of the collaborator's on that cool project had to leave. As far as Memo getting permission, unless there's signed docs saying that, they were probably just blowing smoke. Plus, they know that Memo doesn't really put that many projects together, except for ones that only cost him money, and HG has to do nothing. But again, that's the reason why you don't go to HG with anything. They'll screw you over, and won't even have the courtesey to use vasoline. That's why I never bothered ever doing projects with Robotech stuff. Just a waste of time, and creativity.

Finally got all the DVDs for the Pachinko game, including a set of keychains that were part of some promo set. One of the DVDs has some cut scenes, but not all of them. Another is like a promo showing footage of all the shows, and has some cut scene footage as well. The other 2 DVDs are promo DVDs of 1)the machine setup and V tligga (trigger), and 2) the other promo for the machine. Pretty cool stuff, and I'm glad I was able to get it. Now to keep on saving for the game itself. MWcon 2010, here we come (finger's crossed)

Well, point it out for the comedy, but don't engage "It". I think (hope) Seto has learned that reason is what everyone's good buddy is lacking. Listen to the sign that says "Don't feed the idiots", and just keep strolling by the animals at the zoo.

Very nice work. I was thinking of doing it similar to the MG version, but have those tread marks in a pink instead of blue. Darn it, so should I now do a Ranka Guard? I like Sheryl's character so much more. Great work on the custom. Are you done, or are you doing any more with it?

All that is kinda good news. Addressing the issues with the hinges is good. As for the two new releases, I hope that the poll asked several months ago is an indication. VF-4 and VF-22S. count me in for several of each if it's those two.
-
Hmmm, so now he's trying to do the Al Sharpton-pull the race card to make an issue where there is none play. Can't wait till he pulls the "The white man is bringing me down" issue. Yeah, I'm sure it's all of our fault here at Macrossworld that he's illiterate, and too stupid to really figure things out. I think we all should try to be the topic of conversation on his podcast. It makes for a great laugh, and really puts into perspective just how off he really is.
-
I still give it to the new 1/60 v.2. With the fixes of the issues, the 1/60 are my be all-end all to Valkyries. Even the 1/48s had issues that had to be fixed. The comments that they are more sturdy than the 1/60s, all I can say is, my how quickly people forget. That's not to say I've just written off the 1/60s previous issues, but at least for the early releases, Yamato realized these problems, and allowed broken parts to be bought through Overdrive. It makes me feel safe in being able to take out my v.2s and handle them.

Agreed, they should be careful. If anything, Robotech fans shouldn't put up with lunacy dictating how their fanbase goes. Most seem either content with it, or don't care enough, and it's unfortunate. To have people represent you in a fanbase, especially in the manner that has been demonstrated is embarassing. The ones that actually did care how they were represented by the ignorant few are pretty much banned. Common knowledge, no doubt, but you'd think the fans would care a bit more. That says much more about the state of their union than the ignorant few. Not only that, but HG seems content in their lackluster status, probably banking on word of mouth tactics to appear as though so much is going on. Toynami is the only company that makes a real product for HG, and look how small and really insignificant that is. Why does the RT elites even try to compare RT to Macross? Yes, the tie in 85 with Robotech, but other than that, there's nothing that keeps these together. I don't wanna beat the dead horse anymore, so, I'm gonna comment on more stupidity when it arises. I'll wait a couple hours for one of us to find it, LOL

Page number is directly related to retarded statements and actions by the elites at rt.com and a few of the so-called fans. If this goes 65 pages for two threads over one year, that should say something.
-
You know, this thread is intended for the licensing and "debate" of things Robotech. I think originally, it was meant as a true Q&A, and debate what happened in the rulings type thread. However, the select few RT fans have given more to debate about, and they help perpetuate this thread. Strange how that works, I know, but that's the real bread and butter of why this thread still goes strong. It's almost like there's a sign over there for normal people that should say "don't feed the idiots", and whether they do or don't get fed, different things start to happen just by being in there. It really should be a case study for some psychologists, but I don't think they'd want to convolute their papers on Robotech. Heck, they could do it here, too. But I think they'd get bored with the outcomes. My comments to the sane Robotech fans was simple...If you like Robotech, by all means like it. I'm not trying to win some made up war or convert people to Macross. Robotech (the original 85 airing in 85) has a place for those who watched it. Whether it was their intro to anime, nostalgia, or it's a story you just liked and rememberd the story, people are gonna like what they know, and that's fine. As I told Steve Yun in an email conversation, (summarizing) if someone is gonna get that defensive over a product to where they feel they need to defend it and silence people, then their's a problem with the work, or lack of it. If you know you've done all you can, then who cares what naysayers will say, the work will speak for itself. When you get 51/50s (crazy people) who start creating madness out of the ashes with no direction, and it relates to something you know very well, it's kinda easy to see why some here come with the fire behind them. I dunno, I just had several great beers with a good kick and a very hoppy taste, so take that as you will. Apparently, they've been in defense mode ever since RTSC ever came out, and thus the crazies are out to defend it, because it needs defending and it won't stand on its own.

Thanks for the pics. Seems that your Valkyrie is screaming at the sky, indeed. "Why, why!!! What is my purpose in life? What will I be, and what will I accomplish?" I really miss the Alps printers, damnit!!! Now would be a great time for one for some high quality decals. MG and Sheryl Guard being worked out. Oh yeah!!! I'm trying to think about customizing a VF-25 gun to fit for a VF-1 to go with it. I guess the colors will be white, pink and purple, maybe some blue.

http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...mp;pagenumber=7 OK, finally read through the entire thread, and all I can say is..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!! I think that's about the best summary of that whole thread. "Somebody crapped on the Pizza", LMFAO!!! Are these people even worth debating? The few that make the big stink aren't, as I've realized. It's more like they're doing it so we can laugh at them (not with them). On a more serious note, if any serious, level headed RT fans read this topic, I want to thank you for not going down that road of insanity it seems the few who have no purpose in life keep going down. By all means, support your franchise for whatever reason you have, but keep your sanity. It's probably you, not HG and not the mods or the wannabes that really should make your franchise.

Will this be transformable? So far, just the fact that you have actually started the scratchbuild is awesome. Great work. Can't wait to see more.

I'm waiting for the Macross Pachinko promo DVD and the other DVD that no one seems to know is. Poss the cut scenes, poss something totally different, but that is on it's way, as well as M&M VF-22s, and also waiting for confirmation of shipping for My Sheryl figure, and my all white VF-1S. Man, all this should be here this month sometime. The DVDs probably monday or tuesday.

This hasn't been talked about just over last year, it's been talked about for about 3 years at least. It would be better just using the Toynami toys to do a stop motion short. Gee, if I volunteer, would I gain clout wth the fan powers that be? Oh please, please, please??? Going through trash cans sounds like a lot of fun. I wonder who the cast will be? I doubt any of them would fit into the Misa and Hikaru uniforms I have. I'd also give them the number to a costume designer I know who did the costuming for Dances with Wolves, but I don't want to ruin my rapport with him. While I do know some of the guys working on this thing, it just seems like such a bad idea. Dartallion is a very cool guy, and he's just a fun guy to hang out with. If they're gonna have anything good come out of their fan made RT film, I'm sure he's got the skills and goods to make it happen. Kinda reminds me of when a couple guys and I were thinking of making a Mospeada short film. The idea of the film was maybe 20-30 minutes, 3-8 person cast, and was more of an apocalypse film, just with the Inbit as the bringer of it. There was no happy ending to it, and it was planned to be a grainy version of Mospeada, kinda like the new Battlestar show. I even went as far as making, and acquiring about 45% of a mospeada body armor. Even had a guy who had a vintage Green camoflauge jeep that he wanted to see in it. I figured I come to it later after marriage and all, but not sure if the interest is there from the old team. Even my interest in it has wained out. Their idea seems a bit overzealous. Without massive CG, it may be quite laughable. It'll be interesting to see if it even comes to fruition.

My wife will be accompanying me on watching Macross 7, and I will be catching her up to ep. 8. We'll start again w/ ep.1, and move up to where we need to be. So, with me, add one more viewer.

Bam!!! And now we reached a new thread for the new year. Thanks for the "reset", let the games begin.

Today, I just got my Fire Bomber CD "Re Fire". Man, what a rockin' set of music. That's gonna be in my car for sometime, driving back and forth from the Valley and back to South Bay. Makes me wanna pickup my guitar again. I think I'm gonna learn song #1 or #2.
-
That's not a bad thing by any means. As for Gundam, not too big on the new stuff, but I've been getting re-acquainted with 08th MS team.

Robotech, no matter how hard people try to argue this, is still a small niche product. That being said, it appears that any group larger than 20 is considered a large gathering. I only know 2 Robotech fans in the UK, and they've told me that there is next to no fanbase in the U.K. These are true Robotech fans too, not the half way fans, or fair-weather fans. It's not surprising, but it still makes me face palm everytime I see someone who knows absolutely nothing about a subject or fact, talk as if they are the authority. So, Maverick knows the insides of Hollywood, and knows that Paramount is quaking in their boots over a LARM that isn't even green lit yet. Memo knows demographics for Robotech in every country, and knows that millions upon millions of fans in the UK all are rabid Robotech fans. Little dougibendo knows that everybody who watches Macross is a pedophile. PTH knows that Robotech is better because of how they get made fun of, and because nobody knows how to debate. Now, I'm sure they'll probably read this, and think, "you know, Jasonc is right! Let's keep it up." I can only say go ahead. Keep running with the current regiment. Even the regular RT fans are getting tired of the franchise, and HG seems to be cool with letting the fanbase go the way of the dinosaur. If that's how the elites wanna run things, and that's how HG wants to let it go, I'm not gonna argue. I'm just gonna call it as it is.

I agree that the original VAs did a wonderful job on Robotech. there's not much debating in that. But, in comparing it to Macross, I think it's on par. Same could be said of Macross, with the exception of ADV's version of the english dub of Macross, that was a butcher. As fort he idea of Roy, Roy was about the same in Robotech as he was in Macross. Macross didn't really need to write new songs for certain episodes, because the amount of BGM and vocal tracks they had was quite large, and it fit well in all areas. In the music area of BGM, Macross and Robotech did quite well in that dept., and I hate comparing them, since music is something I am quite fond to. I'm not gonna judge one better than the other, because the art and effort people went through, to put it all together is unique, and whether one likes it or not, it conveys not only the emotion of the show, but of the composer as well. I feel though, in the vocal tracks, Macross has a much bigger leg up than Robotech did. What I'm talking about is the Macross Saga and SDF Macross. Reba West sang these songs as part of the job, and they were intended as just that. However, Mari Iijima sang not only as the job required, but also sang as a professional. You can tell a lot more emotion and quality went into those than Robotech's did. I'd put the New Generation vocal tracks completely seperate, and therefore, I don't think they are to be compared here.

Definite thanks to Roger for getting all these together in a pdf format. It's great to see that others can share in the great lineart that they are, and see some of the history of MOSPEADA. I like that colored one at the end...Hopefully in time, more will come out, especially in color. It is a shame that his book never came to fruition. It would've been a good buy. Nevertheless, as it seems that the project was doomed, due to the current powers that be, at least this is a way to show part of what could've been.
