OK, I have all the knee joints, and all, but that floppy wing bothers me. I'm gonna fix it on my next day off on saturday. That thing is a real b*tch to transform. Max works just fine.
-
I should examine my Miriya 22 closer. I haven't transformed it yet, but so far one wing does droop. There are fixes for that, like clear nail polish. I'm gonna check the knee. So far, I've been one lucky bastard w/ Yamato (knock on wood). I'll let you know if there's another problem.

That's why there's no point in supporting Toynami's latest Zentraedi release coming. Revoltech did it right the first time, and very well. I have several of those myself. As for the blue alphas from Toynami, I think they were probably the best of all of them, as for some reason, the molds and parts seemed to degrade with later releases. Seems like HG and all it's licensees are penny pinching these days.

I just watched the "part VI" youtube. So, basically, the answer was skirted once again. We already knew they could use the designs in merchandise, and as far as a direct yes or no, he went directly into Sentinels. So, now the uneducated in this debate will keep on rolling thinking one thing, while facts are completely different. I doubt Tommy overrides what HG legal has said, and that's why they'll never get a straight answer. The Sentinels comment is more like half truth. as I'm sure they would've liked to have sold it in Japan, but then again, they couldn't even get it off the ground here, I really doubt they would've done it there. So, all that big deal turned out to be nothing new, and was a simple waste of time.

Well, when they don't make the toy, get your putties, styrene and all that together, and start working on it. As for Toynami goes, only their betas are of interest....along with the now vaporware Beagle Fuke (Rook). If Toynami wanted to do something different, they should make a blank Alpha, like Yamato, and let people customize them.

"Hehehe, Hahahaha, It was so obvious! It's a Boobytrap!!!" One of my favorite quotes from Goval in RT's version of Maccross. I will be happy to get these as well. Are these ones finished as well already?

Exo's making it rain in the club. Excellent work, my friend. Keep my "subscription" going.

The wife and I are on episode 6, still trying to catch her up for the weekly viewings... Oh wow, she likes the fact that we can understand it, and "Planet Dance" isn't translated as "Perry Stands".

I know many people are gonna make a big deal of Carl working in any capacity on this, but I'm sure it'll only be a very small token of thanks for getting Robotech off the ground. The way HG is going, I doubt they're gonna hire another "director" for any part of the franchise, although, it'd be quite comical. I can see the bitching and arguing unfold now. Carl: Tommy, I created Robotech, let me do what I need to do to make this the bestest cartoon of all time! Tommy: No, only my ideas are the greatest! Carl: I thought of Shadow Chronicles, it was my idea, til you messed it all up. Tommy: I fixed it by drawing big boobs all over the place! Carl: No, that was the animators...You only do MPC box art and a couple screensavers. Tommy: Oh yeah, those horny Koreans, wait, I'm Korean! Still, I'm in control! Carl: I am...Without me creating Robotech, t.v. would die, life would be dull, and WWIII would've started if I didn't do what I have done here. I'm saving humanity. Tommy: Damn, I'm Korean? Wait, I can draw, you can't Carl: But I can tell whopping big @ss stories, you suck at directing Tommy: We'll see what my entourage has to say, Memo, Maverick, kill this guy! Memo: HEHEHE, CARL, WANNA BE AT OUR ROBOTECHX BOOTH? I'LL WEAR A TUNA FISH HAT IF YOU DO? Maverick: Since I know everything there is to know about anime and sci-fi conventions, and the movie industry. that's a great idea. The world is quaking in their boots over this turn of events, for all you people with OCD. Tommy: Wait, I said kill him!!! Carl: Memo, you got a deal. Let's create a Robotech world. Memo: HEHEHE Tommy: OK, if you kill Carl, I'll say that we can use SDF Macross designs in any new productions? Memo: HEHEHE Maverick: I like Shadow Chronicles OK, done typing the charade.

There's a man who definitely has his share of faults in the RT franchise. I know many of the RT fans clamore for a hint of the "good ol' days", but aside from actually bringing the 3 series over here, then creating Robotech, nothing else he did for the franchise was successful. I mean, look at his early ideas of sentinels, and you get the impression that Robotech was gonna be a poor circus act. Yet, despite that bit o news, Tommy is creative director, and anything anyone else does, if not his idea, is out the window. He doesn't like sharing the spotlight, as was evident in the termination of Tom Bateman, but I digress. Carl is probably there for the dog and pony show, and he'll never criticize Robotech or even its new incarnation. Afterall, he would probably take a job back there in a heartbeat. The big question is, who would do a better job, Tommy or Carl? (I know, it's only hypothetical)

I dunno, I think the jury is still out on wether or not PTh would be a benefit to MW or not. My guess at this time, and by the historical marks of his posts, would make modding just that much more difficult. Whether sincere or not, is of no concern to me, as his true colors would come through in the end anyways. If he wants the happy medium between RT and Macross, that's all fine and dandy. If he wants to stick to one side, whatever. Either way, options are out there, and if he can simply play by the rules, he'd be just fine. I'm not gonna say he shouldn't be on here cause he isn't smart or witty, but I feel the question of tact does come into play. He tends to say the wrong things at all the wrong times, and not only pisses off the rt mods, but also people here. It must be something when you're not really welcome in either camp (or at least, that maybe what he feels). I guess, in the end, we can only see what will become of PTH. If he can show some restraint, and tact, I don't care what franchise he supports. It's fine at that point.

That's a good sign seeing Ranka and Sheryl cosplayers, despite Macross not being over here. Talk about good marketing.
-
No, not surprised by that at all. I just like getting a good laugh at it, cause it was the same thing that they were relying on even before Shadow Rising came out. It would be nice if they did what they had done for their Robocon 20, but then again, without Tom Bateman as a true voice for the fans and someone who really wanted to make the franchise something positive, I wouldn't expect it to be anything like that. Can you elaborate more on what you meant regarding the VA? Not quite getting that whole bit of info? Somehow, I remember when RTx first started, it was a site supposedly by the fans, for the fans. Somewhere along the path, it just became a rt.com extension. like a continuation school for dropouts (no offense) witht he same mods acting like they actually understand all this. That drama with PTH and Memo really says a lot about the new direction the mods want to go in. Aside from the usual minor skirmishes and debates, I don't think any MW members have brainwashed PTH. And yet, he seems to now be able to see through the B.S. that is being put out. Since we didn't do that, it has to be that it is becoming so blatantly obvious that the mods are full of it. Even the once loyal followers of the "gospel" of Robotech are figuring it out. You know, even with some of the assinine comments PTH has said, I hope he becomes a better person through this, and realizes that we were never out to get him. Maybe this is something all RT fans must go through? Well, as Memo would say, HEHEHEHE (no offense, really)

Same ol' sh*t, just with a Robotech 25 anniversary sticker on top of it. If there is anything to be done, I'm sure, once again, it'll be left up to the fans to do it. HG's way of saying we're too damn cheap to really put something together.
-
In reading all that recap stuff from the con, there were two ways to take the false statements... 1) get pissed about it and again, show where it's all wrong, or 2) Just let them be. When HG legal says you can't use the designs in prducing a new series or movie, I think I'd trust them over Tommy Yune. So, what would be the point of arguing when the facts are there against that idea? The fact is, is that the original designs will not be used in any new productions, EVER. It's not even worth debating, as the truth will dictate how the company runs the franchise. It's things like that, that make the whole debate pointless. Tommy has an agenda to keep the dwindling fans happy, and if that means stroking them all, well, that's HG's PR trenches there. Of course, as has been said before, just about anything can be made true with enough spin and twists. There's never been a doubt about product and merchandise having the DYRL and original Macross designs, but there's a reason why we're still right, why HG legal doesn't allow any Macross designs, or even Macross type terms in the movie. Now, maybe some of it will be cleared up, but the general concept is still gonna be there, and it's not gonna change. Use whatever excuse you want, there will be no Macross designs insert into new productions. End of discussion.
-
Awesome. I may use a page layout for the insert, if it isn't too much of a learning curve. My wife is gonna help put together a collage for both DVDs. When they're done, I'll upload them. They're gonna take some time, but it'll be a little cleaner of a setup for those who want a nice DVD set.

Hmmm, seems that Tommy is, indeed trying to redirect the questions and mislead the RT fans to give them a little pickle tickle. So now productions casually means movie productions. Someone, if you go to these panels, ask them if they can use original Macross designs in new animated or movie productions. If he says yes, I'd assure those people that it's not true, as their legal team will say no. It does seem that they're now in the position where the facade is too heavy to graze with half truths, and is now relegated to flat out misleading the fans. Do they think that telling the truth will piss off the fans? What's truth is truth. That's not gonna change events as they are now. It's hilarious that their's a different reason for events and half truths everytime they get asked a question. I think they're starting to lose track of the lies they tell, and they're getting them mixed up.

I bought a set of 10 8 DVD holder cases. So, this will basically put the entire set into 2 of the boxes. As my wife is a graphics designer, I'm gonna see if she can work on this with me. Maybe some sort of collage of all things Mac7, set 1 and 2, and a pamplet with titles and liner notes on staff and all that. It's not gonna be a one day project, so it'll be awhile, but I'm gonna start gathering art tomorrow to use. Thanks for the link to the cases. I can probably use those for my Macross Frontier DVDs as well.

Just got an account at rapidshare, so once I can get it to load right, I'll put it up fo you guys. I'm a bit new at it. Oh, and Veffidas, what you found is pretty much what I have. There's another DVD with some other stuff, but not much.

Love this show...Mav says something stupid, we ridicule it, and like clockwork, the circus fire brigade come out in comedic fashion to put out the fire. It incites more laughter and ridicule, and just like clowns, attempt to put that fire out. Sad, sad clowns, I'm sure we'll hear it in some podcast to try and feel empowered, and indirectly keep the ball rolling downhill on them. Sometimes, I really wonder why they attempt to put up these baits even. All it does is backfire everytime on them, and makes them look incredibly stupid. Why not just live happily in their Robotech world with an absence of Macross? Wouldn't that make their world so much easier? Oh, wait, if they do that, their Robotech would disappear. And that's why you'll always have this tension from both sides (well there are other reasons), but you get what I mean.
-
That would be 16 cases of art to make for 16 slim cases. I just need to get the art back that I had, and start putting it back together again.

And this coming from a Robotech fan. At what point do the mods realize that they need to fix the weeds in their own yard before trying to clean up a Robotech house. That's not even talking about them trying to say what should/shouldn't be fixed in another franchise. Some of those examples of Maverick's "brilliant quotes" seem to be at the point where he has gotten frustrated enough to burst out, and make personal attacks. One of the so-called voices of HG. Perhaps wanting to get everyone to believe in the Robotech "New King Mod" version is wearing at them, especially since it seems to be driving the fans away more than bringing them together. Heck, maybe they should be called Macross purists for their disruptive behavior on rt.com and causing division amongst the true Robotech fans. You know, if it wasn't for people like the mods, or lil dougie bento, I think the Macross and RT franchises would be at a happy peace. What they need to understand is that we don't ridicule every RT fan, and it's not so much even that, that is ridiculed. But rather, it's these certain ones that create the volatile fuel and perpetuate the animosity between both sides. In once being tied to both sides equally, there is a happy medium in liking both, if that is what people claim, and what people want. It's why I have friends on both sides. As JT/Zen72 has pointed out in his multiple podcasts, it is the hate, and discourse, that these mods and their followers spread that keep not only their franchise from doing anything, but invite the scrutiny from RT and Macross fans. As for the trolling of mods here, if they feel the need to do so, it doesn't bother me at all. I find it quite funny, and lets me know again, that we're saying something right, and exposing something that bothers them. Oh, well, keep it coming.

Haven't decided yet. I'd like to get them in a case that could hold 4 DVDs, but I haven't looked at the cases yet. If not available, I'm probably gonna go the route of thin cases. I had some art, but lost it all in a computer upgrade. So, I'm working on it now.

In other news, just read this bit of garbage from the guy who thinks he knows all things. post can be found here: http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...p;pagenumber=11 Maverick wrote all this: This is funny. Warner Bros only has a major role??? As far as has been presented, WB is doing all the work, while HG isn't doing anything with it. They have no say-so creatively in the movie. For someone who claims to know so much about the "industry", he hasn't proven much. We're just getting warmed up. Many macross fans are sticking ot Macross 7 and II? I know a few fans prefer the alternate universe, and feel it should be the canon, but besides that. While this is all opinion, and open to interpretation, Bandai is afraid of experimenting? Then the whole thing with Gundam??? OK, first off, there's not really anything that's 100% original. What becomes original in these storis points is the pace, direction, and the individual events. What Macros has, is a formula that not only makes the series continuously popular, but also helps sell millions of dollars in merchandise, as in movies/series, clothes, toys, model kits, books, posters, heck, even food. Since Maverick is talking about the franchise formulas here, what has RTSC's story formula given it in comparison? Talk of a LAM? That doesn't even mean anything, as there's nothing to complain. Moving on... Shadow Chronicles had a unique storyline??? Really? Plotwise??? Since 1/3 of it is rehashing story directly taken from Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, I don't think that part qualifies as original and unique. The rest, well, Robotech synopses...Aliens invade earth because of a flower energy source, humans fight aliens while being the underdog, and humans eventually win. Not original at all. As a matter of fact, at least Macross had endings that were new in their own sense. Robotech's 3 endings were other endings to different shows. the whole bit about Gundam fans ridiculing Macross fans because of Macross F? Who cares! If they don't like it, or don't like Macross, they're gonna do it. I doubt it's because of Frontier, but for whatever reason, who cares. Frontier is successful enough to get criticized. Again, people have their opinions, and the success of the series, and the success of the movie in theatres (not a special engagement release like RTSC) shows that despite yours, mine, and others opinion, the general consensus is that it's good. Comparing to RTSC, well, there is no comparison needed. I hate comparing the two, cause it always ends up with RT fans getting upset, but look at what is, and you see where things stand. Frontier is already going for a second movie. RT is still trying to figure out if they can make Shadow Rising, or still in a pre-production version of Dante's inferno.

I have a crappy collection, and will someday soon, (hopefully today) take a pic of them. That is, if I can get my stuff done in time. Hahaha
