  1. I have a lot of respect for people like Tony Oliver, Dan Warren, Richard Epcar. Those guys were first starting out when Robotech was being put together. Most of these VAs have moved on to do good things, like other anime voice work, voice over directing, LAM directing, and many other things. I'm not one of those that believes that all anime should be in its original language only. I wouldn't throw in the VAs into HGs garbage. They make the panels HG has, simply to draw in fans of the show and fans of the VA, as well as to get paid for their time at the panel. I doubt they're in on all HG's ploys.
  2. You know, no matter how high of a pedestal fans are gonna put Carl Macek on, it's always interesting to see him kiss @ss to the HG staff in hopes of getting a job back there. He was like that during the shadow Chronicles one day theater showing. I know he believes he's a creative genius, but but I wonder if he takes pot shots at Macross during the interviews to boost his marketability in the industry. That wouldn't surprise me at all. On the idea of HG interviews being predispoed to favor them, I wouldn't doubt that as well. Look at the video Memo put up where that girl asked about the licensing stuff, and being able to use Macross designs in new productions...Tommy cut the interview short after eluding to being able to use Macross designs in merchandise productions (a strategic combo Tommy must've thoght of to keep the RT fans living in that delusion). What that video shows is that they really didn't want to get put into a corner that they couldn't get out of. I'm sure they knew that after the answer they gave, they would've gotten called on it. Sometimes, what isn't said is much more important than what is. Classic example.
  3. I don't know about you guys, but I prayed to Carl Macek for this day to go buy quickly, and he put the Robotech soundtrack on my ipod. It made my drive go by quickly on my way into work. You should pay homage to those that bring life to forever dead franchises, like Macross. What the hell were they thinking with this love triangle, and music that can change the hearts of aliens garbage? It's obvious that it doesn't work. Their franchise has only been around for about 28 years, hardly a blink in time.
  4. Awesome, now go get your #2 HB pencils, start sketching, and put those erasers to good use
  5. Hey, another Jason that plays music. Too bad you don't live out here in Socal. It took me a long time just to find some people who like playing music from this genre. Do you have any guitar tabs or songs? I've got down good portions of a few of Fire Bomber's songs, and DYRL. Even have down one or two Macross II songs. As for other anime, working on the opening song from Blood +, the 2nd opening song from Death Note, and a couple others. Perhaps we can share music? Let me know. Jasonc
  6. sounds like he lives in denial... not too uncommon for whiners and poo butts, hahaha. I've heard that, or have seen that attitude elsewhere. They hate Macross so much, that they've supposedly seen all the new series, and know enough to talk about it over and over again, even if from a very elementary p.o.v.
  7. He's done that before, usually only to fit his bitching or his argument. It does, however, from most people's perspective, invalidates the credibility. This does indeed make him a sellout.
  8. Pure awesome!!! And those guys have the perfect flight suits for the Pink Peckers. Yamato, get on it. Don't let this slip by.
  9. that would make Pac-Man filled with the Holy Ghost. Pac-Man, with that description, is a very Christian game. On a side note, I was thinking of maybe setting up a small So-Cal get together with Macross fans in the area. Nothing official, maybe just a day around L.A. J-town, lunch, and just a day to hang out. Even if not from the area, I think it'd be cool to get some of us together. There's a few of us that hang out for poker and such, but this could be a day to kinda "geek out". Anyways, if you're interested, we'll also be planning to overthrow HG and dissect RT into 3 seperate series. Had to throw that in, just to keep it all on topic.
  10. This is awesome news, indeed. With this and Britai, 2010 is starting off just right. Additionally, will the speaker booster come with this, or will that be one of those Tamashi exclusives that's like 90000 yen?
  11. Just imagine, an old rocker dude in one of those Pink Pecker Valks, or whatever they're called...Hmmm, maybe Iggy Pop would do better. He'd fit that better. He must be pushing like 80 years old, and all the coke he's done makes him look like he's no older than 55.
  12. If it's females, Scandal is purrrrrrfect, Yummy!!! hahahaha If it's a male character, I say Neil Young...c'mon, "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" would be a perfect song to fend off aliens.
  13. Herman is actually a good friend of mine, and we talk regularly. I know his parents, and he is a great guy. I can assure you that the whole Kyle thing is really more of a spoof thing. We have this "tradition" where whenever we have group hangouts, we pop in Macross II, and after a good buzz, we mimic the english voice actors. It's a great time, especially since each one of us can do the specific voices so damn exact. There's about 8 or 9 of us that meet up from time to time for things, and it's a good group. Some are just Robotech fans, some are fans of both, while some are just Macross fans. Yet we all get along, and despite most of us decided to actively leave the RT forums and the offshoots of it, we've been able to remain friends. It's one of those things I don't get. Other people used to be part of the group like Memo, but decided to abandon the friends all because of some notariety of a cartoon. Now, that's their perogative, but it really shows you how much priority people place on a cartoon. I may like Macross a whole lot, but I'm not gonna abandon my friends over it. Maybe that's the kind of blind, isolated dedication it takes to be a RT fan? If that's what it takes by lil dougie's definition, they can have it. While not much of a RT fan, I still am one to some extent, and it's good to know that the people like Herman and others I do hang out with still know the importance of friends.
  14. Hell to tha mutha effin yeah!!! I'll be getting 2 of each if they make the line of Zentraedi. Wonder if they'd do a DYRL version of Britai?
  15. You're almost right, Jazznik is trying to build his own Robotech fanbase based on his gospel of Robotech, where the beer is endless, and the boobs flow out like a spring of mountain spring Protoculture. Down with all you pedophiles!!! Lesson to my song!
  16. Damn you, for getting that song stuck in my head. I'll be going to sleep thinking of cheerleaders, golf, and bowling balls. That's probably why they will constantly hate you. Because they feel you should be a hardcore RT fan. I'm sure it burns them. I got an email from someone of non importance recently, criticizing me for my stance. His idea was that I need to stay true to what I was originally a fan of. Well, my response was, "If I'm gonna stay true to what I was originally a fan of, I would've never got into Robotech. I'd have stayed a Macross fan, being that first." Lil dougie, I'm pretty sure, hates the fact that people like you, Seto, and any "smart" people aren't on their elitist gospel of Robotech. And people wonder why people refer to them as "drinking the cool-aid". Seems like they'd be the ones to easily follow the strange cults.
  17. Mmmmm, shun the darkness, and enter the light! Although, I think you've already been there. I was just looking through rt.com, and they've made a big deal over this supposed design debate thing, even though nothing new has been said. They must really be hurting for some kind of "let's get back at Macross for making RT suck." It's funny as hell, but kinda sad when they don't realize that the HG staff, and the elitist fans refuse to look in their own backyard. If HG was smart, they'd start cleaning their own house, and mop up some of the destructive elitist fan rhetoric that's polluted their franchise. Then again, that makes sense, and why would they do something that makes sense?
  18. The crooked head kinda gives the alpha a "clueless" look, almost like he's saying "Huh, me, don't I look pretty?" I have a couple alphas that have the crooked head syndrome, and there is a way to fix it, but it's almost not worth it, with all the working you need to do.
  19. Hahaha, why even give him any credit for determining anything? If he spoke with any form of intelligence, then I'd be more inclined to debate it, but you're talking about someone who hasn't been able to hold much of an argument for the better part of his "career" in Robotech. It's just a boy who's still trying to fight a lost war, and in doing so, is isolating his franchise even more, leaving it for only the most obscure of fanatics. I say, let him be, and leave him to destroy his own franchise and cause. To question another's fandom is one thing. To dictate who is and isn't a fan is simply ignorant, and stupid, and fits right into lil dougie's way of thinking.
  20. Eriku, sorry to hear and see your bad draw of the Aoshima Legioss. My experience w/ the Aoshima was completely different, as mine came out just as good, actually better than the Toynami. The fact that the ratcheted joints are there makes it even better, but then again, it's got the "box o' chocalotes" syndrome...You never know what you're gonna get. Speaking of MOSPEADA stuff, I just got an old mag/book of MOSPEADA from I'd say the 80s, that's full of everything MOSPEADA, and has a poster in the first page. Pretty awesome, but slightly on the higher priced side. I'll scan a pic tomorrow.
  21. Man, what're you talking about??? Boobs are family friendly. Children rely on milk, and boobs provide that for young, growing infants. How much more family friendly can you get?
  22. Jasonc

    Supah Happy Party Set!

"I want a cola!!!" Thanks for adding those Exo. Awesome stuff. As my buddy has kinda been flaky on getting me the money, I'm thinking just apply that to the next batch for me, unless you already got his set. Awesome stuff, I'll be pm'ing you regarding the covers and all that.
  23. Speaking of the "Birth of a Sequel" documentary, during the interviews, there is a part where someone is cosplaying as a Valkyrie. His entire interview was deleted out of the documentary due to the Macross cosplay. They'd probably say that it was some other reason, but I remember being there during the interview, and afterward. Anyways, as the saying goes, to talk the talk, you should walk the walk.
  24. Man, all the good Macross stuff that we can't get over here. Bummer!!! One of these days, I'll have to go to the festival. How much stuff do they sell at the festival?
  25. Whoooooaaaaa, you crazy guy! Hahaha. I think I still have about 4 or 5 in bits and pieces for problems like broken hands and all that. I haven't touched my alphas in ages, and I think that's just where they'll stay. And not bragging or anything, but I have 3 of each, so that's a sad thing when you can't even really play with excess toys, cause of fragile engineering.
