Macross Frontier Movie 1,YES it is subbed now edition
Jasonc replied to sharky's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'll post up pics tomorrow with the heart pasties I didn't know there were two versions. I ordered mine from HLJ, and it took over a month to come, so I don't know. Just another figure to go with the future Sheryl Guard, and all the statues I have of her. -
I doubt those people were waiting on memo to say that it's fixed to buy it. I waited on the first one,,,wait, I didn't plan on ever buying the first Maia with the ugly @ss colors. I thought maybe they'd work out the problems and even some of the previous problems, but I think the issue is, is that Toynami is realizing that Robotech has exhausted it's ability to stir up enough business to get the franchise's merchandise off of life support. So, the Vinyl Battlepod is all that's left after another disaserous Maia MPC? I take it with there being no Shadow Beta, and the fallout from this MPC, there will be no Marcus Rush alpha. You know, for supposedly doing so much and always being busy, HG seems more like they're closing up shop than trying to keep things going. It's kinda sad for true Robotech fans. all they have are these crappy Macross toys left from companies like Yamato. I think they stole that name from Space Battleship Yamato.

Mospeada's curse of finished products seems to creep up again. So, the Beta sales sucked, not too surprising. I doubt a lot of people wanted to buy the red beta. I bought one, but wasn't all that thrilled about it. I was more wanting the blue and green. What can you do?

For "Angel Voice", I was playing it as such: C x32013 G 320013 Am x02213 F xx3213 pre-chorus G Am F Em G then back to the original For "Light the Light" ----------------15--(15)---------------------------------------------------------- -----15------------------------15----------------------------------------------- -----------17------------------------17----------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------17---(17)----------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm pretty sure the chorus is in power chords of F G Em F, F G Am, F G Em F, D G C There's more too it, but I'm without my guitar as of now, so I don't remember the bridge For DYRL, you can transcribe the notes up or down, I usually play it in A, as we had a girl who could sing it in D, so I'll go with that. (going off memory) You can play this strumming the chords, picking, and I usually play it with full bar chards to get a wider range of notes Intro: E A E A B E Verse: D E C#m F#m D E A 2x Pre-chorus: Fm F#m Fm F#m D# D C# B Chorus: A D Bm E (A few times) D A Bridge: F#m D F#m D That's it for now. Stay tuned for Macross opening theme, and Totsugeki Love Heart (sp?) I've got other anime too, if anyone is interested.

Shadow Chronicles was delayed due to them trying to "catch the big fish" with a large distributor. When the contracts came in, there was some sort of clause in there that would basically put RTSC on a shelf. That's what happened more or less from Kevin's explanation a couple years ago, and verified with a couple people. There were also other tactical reasons, but I really doubt they wanted to even try to compete with Frontier. They know it would've come up short from the get go. I know they wanted to do it by the 20th anniversary, but that didn't happen. It didn't happen in 2006 for several reasons, of course, none ever being HG's fault (although some of it indirectly wasn't). As for the "rip-offs" that people are gonna claim, seems like some people want to make those correlations. If Macross ever copied or was inspired from Robotech, I'm sure many people would feel that robotech has some validation, not that it needs it. Gubaba hit it on the head. BTW, I see Zen72 on, I'm listening to ep.17 right now. Thanks for putting that and a random cast up. Good stuff.

There are a lot of Mospeada products out there, agreed, but the ones that really matter seem to get the short end of the stick, i.e. the Beagle Fuke and Yellow. It did take forever for the Beta/Tread, but they at least made it to the light of day. BTW, any info on the Shadow Beta?

In regards to the original question, I'd buy 2 or 3, just to have them. If there's anything I'd buy multiples of, it's the VF-4, VF-2SS, and the VA-3. Also gotta add the 1/60 Regults

True, and I hope you didn't think I was going off on you. I think it's more of a circus when people that openly blast it because it's Macross attempt to analyze it. Then, on top of that, they try to compare it to Robotech's version of the characters. And it's not that they aren't entitled to their view, it just doesn't make much sense. There you go...why would you be pointed to someone that only Memo really talks to? Whatever info Juanrt would've received, would've been from either someone who is on the inside of HG, or Memo. This makes the whole thing of the leaked treatment very interesting. Unfortuanately, Shadow Rising was something Tom didn't really talk much about. After seeing Shadow Chronicles, I wasn't too interested in what was gonna come after it. In either case, the debate of what actually happened and who let it out will probably never be known. All I will say, is that it was interesting that non-HG employees were telling me and others about Shadow Rising, and specific details related to the treatment that popped up much later, before that drama even unfolded. It raises many questions, some I personally don't even care to try to answer. It was putting one and one together from those events that when Darkwater pointed me to the blog, I knew it was real. Although, I think the reaction of Robotech fans was a clear indication to Tommy that what he had done wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. Someone sent me the file from the blog, and I may still have it. If you are still a Robotech fan after Shadow Chronicles, I doubt you'd be one after that.

I wanted to correct an error that I overlooked here... Tom Bateman wasn't fired for leaking anything. That stupid treatment got leaked sometime after Tom was gone, and by someone who probably visited Tommy and Steve at HG from time to time. I did find it strange that to the day that drama started, Someone not even in this country supposedly knew who did it, and was quick to place blame on either Tom, or one of his friends. This is a guy who I believe lives in where? South America. Now, how would someone know enough to create such a story like that, unless it came from someone who talks to Tommy, Steve, and Kevin all the time, and also has ties to South American RT fans? Anyways, it's old news, but I thought I'd correct you on that notion. From what I know of Tom, he's never been the vindictive type, and is still a huge Robotech fan. He's always been a professional, so that idea that you say you came up with is pretty absurd. After reading that thread, what I don't understand is why people have to tie in characters to other characters that aren't even related? The problem with trying to fit MacF characters into characters like Kaifun, Leonard, etc, etc., is that you lose the character's uniqueness, because the character is put into some box. I'd jump in on the conversation, but I really don't have much interest in being part of rt.com's stepchild site.

ff95jg, where did you get this decal? I've been looking for these, but can't find them anywhere. such an awesome decal that I want to get for a custom. If anyone can help, it'd greatly be appreciated

So far, I have about $2000 saved up for this thing. I'm looking to get one sometime in August/September. That'll be around the same time I get a second raise this year, so the finances should be there, barring no crazy new toys come out that I have to get.

Maybe this has been asked and answered already, but as the boosters attach to the wings of the VF-25, where to they connect on Klan?

Yep, got mine on saturday, and it's definitely got the pasty hearts over the breast. I'm glad I got it, as I am a Sheryl fan. Tasteless??? No, no more than some of the other non Macross figures that people collect. I guess it all depends on the maturity level of the buyer, viewer. -
easy, Yamatos, because of the size, the features, nad the detail.

That is one thing that bothers me as well. And no offense to our friends from the other boards here, but I do agree that I don't like this thread being the "banned camp" from rt.com. However, I guess it can go both ways. While that's not necessarily a good thing, allowing people in here and learning about Macross specific is OK. How do you balance it out though? I don't know. I guess as long as it's here, and stays here, it's alright. Although, being in a Macross forum, you'd think there'd be that reason to look around. It's like a Macross fan only going to rt.com.

And now, all this will be used against you PTH, they're probably gonna portray you as a disgruntled fan who's only posting here cause you can't conform. Best thing to do is simply stay true to yourself, and ignore everyone else I guess. In regards to what you've said about Memo, the same type of things have been said before from others, so, I do think there is some truth to it. While that may be true and all, you do have to come to terms with the fact that while somebody can suggest you do things and whatnot, it ultimately is your decision what to do in the end. Acknowledging that is the first thing to know before you start to figure out where to proceed. And to add what others have been saying, credibility here is something that's earned, not just rewarded out of blindness. When certain people say something here, they are taken with a certain amount of validity, because they've shown that they have the facts straight, can physically prove what they're saying, and/or haven't said things to promote their own agenda. I'm still gonna hear what is said from all sides, but if the credibility is zero, it's at that level for a reason. PTH, don't be surprised if people are gonna criticize what you say here, cause gaining trust takes work.

"You can sculpt when your drunk!!!" Are you gonna put the big spie in the dress??? HAHAHA!!!

If they had an mp3 version of this toy, I think I'd load vocal Basara tracks and the entire Fire Bomber library, as I think everyone else would. This thing would also be around $300, but damn, a transformable MP3 player that's all Macross.

Why is it that in those quotes, the so-called Robotech fans don't know the difference between the two series, and have what seems like line after line of spelling mistakes? No offense to my Robotech friends, but is there any brain activity going on in some of those comments? It appears not. I'm not mad about it though, there are people who just refuse to use any common sense in their statements. As the saying goes, if common sense was so common, why are there so many people lacking it? Oh, and say hello to page 25 peeps!!!
-
That was a little vague. What are you referring to?
-
Yes, there are some dilusional Macross fans as well, and every once in awhile, they do come out. They are generally shunned by by the general community, and aren't mods. I don't villify all RT mods. Some are just level-headed nice guys, and I still keep in contact with them on a regular basis. It's a problem when the mod status goes to someone's head.
-
I can understand that, and some of what you point out is the negative effects of what transpired. Not all is nice and pretty and perfect in my analysis, but the things that seem to be getting to you are some of the things that are part of the large equation of the dislike for HG and staff from RT and Macross fans. It's quite known that Carl Macek originally just wanted to air Macross as it was intended, just dubbed, but the 65 episode minimum helped create Robotech. But when you hear things like Macross was flawed and Carl had to fix it, you kinda see the end result of the combining of the series.

I think it all comes down to this...If the diehard MW haters had to look outside of this thread, they'd have to admit that we're not all haters of Robotech, and all out to kill that franchise. I've said it many times before on my own behalf. I do like Robotech. Still do, at least, what's left of the original. While I was a Macross fan first (since 5th grade elementary school), Robotech was my source to get a version of it here. I did become a fan of both. The misconception that most of us hate Robotech is some idea to keep some imagined war going by many dilusioned RT fans who want Robotech to be more important than it is. Memo knows not to go there, because that idea is simply ignorant, and stupid. Although, somehow I think people like eluding to that idea as to keep the drama rolling in. Another misconception that I'm reading and hearing is that Macross fans hate Robotech because they used Macross in Robotech. While that maybe a couple people's hatred, I think 90-95% of us don't have the problem stemming from that. I think most of it is due to the fact that Macross isn't distributed over here, even though it's grown outside of original Macross. And I know, RT fans will use that argument that HG tried to get it over here, but, in hearing the details of how they tried to do it (and yes, I have heard the DETAILS), it wasn't much of an offer, but moreso of of an "either/or" decision that seemed very one-sided. Then there's the licensing debate,,,in which people like Rhade perpetuate the misinformation. Anyways, Pizza, although we've indirectly have had differences, I am glad to see you finally posting in here. I hope you do come to realize that we're not the "bad guys" and although we may have different fan interests, we all just wanna see our respective shows do well. I know you're a Robotech fan, don't know how much of a Macross fan you are, but there are many threads in here with lineart, fanart, toy pics, collections, cells, scoops (scoopda) and all sorts of things. Look around, and I hope you see what else this site has to offer. Despite differences, I think it's great to have people with them. It makes the site much more interesting to hear criticisms, ideas, and disagreements. Welcome aboard.

Thanks for sending that link. She's definitely got talent as a pop star in her own right. I bought that DVD concert of hers, and it's definitely fun to watch. I'd love to put translation to it, so that people can watch it by MW con10. Good stuff, and to see that youtube link of her before MacF, awesome. -

What you should do, is write to her publicist, I think her name is Grace. Tell her how you feel, and maybe, if you're lucky, Sheryl will even write back to you and explain that this is just a representation of her in WWII'esque art. Seriously, you do know she is a made up character, right? I have no problem with the figure. Sheryl's character is a bit of many different types of women. Her character comes off as smart, sassy, funny, sensual, successful, emotional, and of course, hot. Her character dresses in flashy, over the top outfits, so aside from the nose art figure, I have no problem with what she wears. Her character is balanced out, and brings several dynamics to the series, comedy, drama, fan service, and music entertainment.
