  1. The style they were going in had all VAs that were SAG members. They also changed the VA for Marcus. But all they did was change SAG VAs with other SAG VAs who've done the parts before. I think part of that was actually the negative fan reaction that started coming out when they found out that some voices weren't gonna reprise their roles. They threw Melanie McQueen a bone and let her do Marlene, but it seemed like a waste of money to have others come in, do roles, then swap a couple out maybe. Who knows, maybe Sue Blue just didn't have the drive to recast original VAs, who knows. There's so many reasons, but I know the only thing that really cost more was having to pay additional actors to replace the ones they should've had in the first place, and the "high profile" actors.
  2. She was gonna have different people than the original VAs, for voices like the Regis, and a couple others I think. I think she was just being counter productive, and therefore, they got Richard Epcar, who seemed to get the job done well and efficiently, for what was given him.
  3. Gobots, now there's a franchise I could standby!!! LOL As for BSG, it didn't have a negative outpouring of fans complaining about the franchise before the new show was out. Most of the negative comments came out afterwards, comparing it to a whore house in space and all that. Nevertheless, I don't recall them screwing over fans like HG has done. Even though some series gone LAM have their quirks, they at least try to keep a good rapport with the fanbase. It doesn't seem to be the case here, and I wonder if this is stuff that could break the hopes and dreams of HG's LAM of Robotech. Speculative, I know, but just throwing it out there.
  4. They do need to have a second book. At least it'd be nice to have one. I'm really happy with the book. This, along with the other book from the 80s and the Artmic books, really gives you an idea of the grand scheme of this show. Timeless artwork.
  5. Ahhhh, more Sheryl figs to order. With all these figs coming out of her, I'm gonna have to arrange a Sheryl display in the Detolf cases when I get the space.
  6. I've been reading various blogs through the net, and it seems that the C&D that HG sent the UEG guys is kinda backfiring. People I never expected to confess their disgust for HG's treatment of Robotech and the fans, are now being echoed everywhere. As more negative comments flow in through various sites and realms, I wonder how direct this will be on the idea of a live action movie? If you put yourself in the shoes of someone making decisions to finance or not finance a Robotech film, would the hordes of negative comments about the franchise that pop up question your decision, or would those be things you'd overlook and outweigh them with what Robotech once was? Maybe this is what they were planning for their 25 year anniversary.

Speaking of guitar lessons, I've always wanted to take some. I never had guitar lessons. I'm self taught. I've been at a point where I can clean up my own style, but getting technically better probably could use either instruction, or something like that. Finding a good instructor helps too, as there are way too many around. Gotta weed them out. What type of electric do you have? I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio, but will be getting a PRS later this year. Just don't have the $3200 to spend right now, unfortunately.
  8. They have their own legal team. What I don't get is why they're busy sending letters to fans, when they should be busy trying to keep Frank Agrama from his own legal troubles?
  9. I don't think there is any real way to "do it right". Probably the best thing to have done would've been to never talk to HG about it. I guess there's the live and learn factor, in which no one should really get involved in doing stuff for a company that is looking to shaft you. Just by reading througout various blogs, websites, and whatnot, this action has seemed to really backfire on HG, and for a moving picture fanfic with no monetary gain. Dust that dirt of your shoulders!!! Time to be Voltron fans
  10. Ahhh, I remember this. It was good times. Except for about 21/2 jetfire/bootlegs still left, I haven't worked on any of these in ages. It's still nice to look at them though, and remember when these were the hot items. I didn't really expect anything new in this thread, but thanks for the nostalgia fix.
  11. "All your fanfics are belong to us!" Robotech fans should do what HG wants, and stop talking about Robotech, stop doing any fan sites, fan works, pics, customs, etc. They're working hard at giving you the worst toys possible, cause they don't want you buying those, too. Why are you all acting like Macross Purists and still talking about Robotech and wanting to do fanfics and stuff with it?

Awesome!!! Thanks for Remember 16. I have a Martin Acoustic that's been itching to get played, and I haven't really broken it in yet. Gotta get a capo tomorrow and I'll give it a shot. I'll try to put more up soon when I get some time and get my guitar out.
  13. Awesome. I just took it out of the box again to take pics, but since you got the same one, no need. My wife saw the figure, and she kinda rolled her eyes, but understands the character and what it is. She actually likes Sheryl in Mac F. In regards to the movie, when it's out on Blu-Ray or DVD, I'm gonna wait for a version with subs to come out for sure. I'm guessing if it's still in theaters, there's no way it'll be out anytime soon, probably at least a few months at minimum.
  14. Even still, do they really think HG would spend that much money over court just for something that isn't gonna make any money to begin with? They were planning to release it as a fan project, for free, and with no strings attached. It'd be like sueing someone for Drawing pictures of Rick Hunter.
  15. I would take that C&D order and wipe my @ss with it and mail it back to them. It's a fan work, and it's not being done for profit. It seems more like a scare tactic than anything. I'd like to see what argument they have and see if it'd hold up in a court. They should be sending Memo a C&D order as well, since he's working on a fan film LAM of Robotech. they should also sue the pants off of that guy who did a short LAM of the Max and Milia date knife fight. I know they do their fan works for free, but they're spreading the franchise out, and god forbid that HG help keep the franchise going. Seriously though, they should continue, and see what exactly they'd do. They have no ground, as provided by current evidence. Since the UEG guys are in another country, they should continue, and make HG spend craploads of money to fly out to that country, go to court, and win or lose, all it would do is inhibit fan work. Do you really think HG would pay that much money to only do that?
  16. Was any of this ever told on rt.com??? Reason I ask is that if so, I wonder what the reaction was/would've been? Would they take that type of info seriously, be concerned, or simply say that you're only causing trouble? I will say that this info isn't too surprising. So much for those who "know how Hollywood work" and their predictions.
  17. I do agree, that instead of waiting for the absolute worst time to release these, they should've done them when Shadow Chronicles first came out.
  18. Thanks for providing this. Downloaded perfectly. I've never seen this before, so thanks.
  19. Sounds like you've been reading Maverick's posts again or getting messages from him. What always got me was the fact that even with the small push to revive the franchise, the line of merchandise they had was so small, and obscure. Then the product they do come out with is riddled with QC issues (not all of it, but the bigger items). You'd think part of creating a successful franchise would be to not just make a dollar or two on the show, series, or whatnot, but to have continual revenue in merchandise. They overthought where to spend money on this franchise, and in turn, forgot to put it where they'd get it back. Now, with news of no Shadow Beta, Maia's MPC going to crap, and only a vinyl Battlepod, do people really think this is the capable company to do anything? Did anyone ever think that, cause you need to check your head if so. They've passed their shelf life, and aside from maybe decent sales of RTSC (most of it bought for nostalgia it seems), there's nothing to even keep that in people's minds, if that was what they wanted to do.
  20. I'll post up pics tomorrow with the heart pasties I didn't know there were two versions. I ordered mine from HLJ, and it took over a month to come, so I don't know. Just another figure to go with the future Sheryl Guard, and all the statues I have of her.
  21. I doubt those people were waiting on memo to say that it's fixed to buy it. I waited on the first one,,,wait, I didn't plan on ever buying the first Maia with the ugly @ss colors. I thought maybe they'd work out the problems and even some of the previous problems, but I think the issue is, is that Toynami is realizing that Robotech has exhausted it's ability to stir up enough business to get the franchise's merchandise off of life support. So, the Vinyl Battlepod is all that's left after another disaserous Maia MPC? I take it with there being no Shadow Beta, and the fallout from this MPC, there will be no Marcus Rush alpha. You know, for supposedly doing so much and always being busy, HG seems more like they're closing up shop than trying to keep things going. It's kinda sad for true Robotech fans. all they have are these crappy Macross toys left from companies like Yamato. I think they stole that name from Space Battleship Yamato.
  22. Mospeada's curse of finished products seems to creep up again. So, the Beta sales sucked, not too surprising. I doubt a lot of people wanted to buy the red beta. I bought one, but wasn't all that thrilled about it. I was more wanting the blue and green. What can you do?

For "Angel Voice", I was playing it as such: C x32013 G 320013 Am x02213 F xx3213 pre-chorus G Am F Em G then back to the original For "Light the Light" ----------------15--(15)---------------------------------------------------------- -----15------------------------15----------------------------------------------- -----------17------------------------17----------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------17---(17)----------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm pretty sure the chorus is in power chords of F G Em F, F G Am, F G Em F, D G C There's more too it, but I'm without my guitar as of now, so I don't remember the bridge For DYRL, you can transcribe the notes up or down, I usually play it in A, as we had a girl who could sing it in D, so I'll go with that. (going off memory) You can play this strumming the chords, picking, and I usually play it with full bar chards to get a wider range of notes Intro: E A E A B E Verse: D E C#m F#m D E A 2x Pre-chorus: Fm F#m Fm F#m D# D C# B Chorus: A D Bm E (A few times) D A Bridge: F#m D F#m D That's it for now. Stay tuned for Macross opening theme, and Totsugeki Love Heart (sp?) I've got other anime too, if anyone is interested.
  24. Shadow Chronicles was delayed due to them trying to "catch the big fish" with a large distributor. When the contracts came in, there was some sort of clause in there that would basically put RTSC on a shelf. That's what happened more or less from Kevin's explanation a couple years ago, and verified with a couple people. There were also other tactical reasons, but I really doubt they wanted to even try to compete with Frontier. They know it would've come up short from the get go. I know they wanted to do it by the 20th anniversary, but that didn't happen. It didn't happen in 2006 for several reasons, of course, none ever being HG's fault (although some of it indirectly wasn't). As for the "rip-offs" that people are gonna claim, seems like some people want to make those correlations. If Macross ever copied or was inspired from Robotech, I'm sure many people would feel that robotech has some validation, not that it needs it. Gubaba hit it on the head. BTW, I see Zen72 on, I'm listening to ep.17 right now. Thanks for putting that and a random cast up. Good stuff.
  25. There are a lot of Mospeada products out there, agreed, but the ones that really matter seem to get the short end of the stick, i.e. the Beagle Fuke and Yellow. It did take forever for the Beta/Tread, but they at least made it to the light of day. BTW, any info on the Shadow Beta?
