I'll be celebrating Robotech as it originally was, as in the 85 episodes. To me, it has merits as far as opening up my knowledge to 3 series I couldn't originally get back then. For that, and the good quality work the VAs did, I'm grateful. Celebrating Robotech for its new incarnation and what I wishes to be in the future??? Pass I'm gonna celebrate tonight by playing poker with some guys from Macrossworld, and seeing some of the cool toys that I just got, like the VF-27 Lucifer.

I learned of Macross from a few friends who are Japanese, and had parents that often visited Japan. When going to their houses, they had all kinds of books with Macross characters, the Valkyries, and even some toys I believe. So they would tell me the story, and it sounded so awesome. When Robotech aired, it was like "OK this sounds like what my friend said, but it's not the same names. That's how I kinda figured it out, at 10yrs old. Um, no, not really, didn't even know there was one. Reunion shows and revival shows are more for the nostalgic, and I'm not much on nostalgia. Has it's place, but just a place, not a lifestyle, so unlike a lot of Robotech fans, the first 85 was good enough. I don't need to try to relive some hype that will not come back.

Just got mine today as well. Sweet toy. I got no poster, but I'm ok with that. BTW, how big is the poster anyway, and anyone have a link of pic of it?

Can't say I saw the Codename: Robotech thing. Like Gubaba, when I did see Robotech for the first time in 85, I had already known about Macross for sometime, so seeing it was already anticipated. I was kinda shocked when I did see SC and Mospeada after Macross Saga, cause it was pretty apparent that they didn't necessarily fit. Nevertheless, I was so happy that it was over here and in English. Plus, the introduction to two other series that I didn't know about was a big plus. When I was finally able to watch these 3 shows in their original form, it was a breath of fresh air, and really confirmed my interest in the original anime as it was intended. While 25 years is a good amount of time, I have this feeling that people are gonna take the 25 years as meaning that it validates Robotech moreso than before. Truth is obvious, just cause something is 25 years old, doesn't mean it makes it valid today, or mean that it necessarily needs to be revived.

In all of that, what you have are 3 people who have this diluted idea that they're bringing the fandom together. Now, at one point in time, Memo was doing that. While we all planned to have gatherings and whatnot, Memo was there at the forefront to help do that. The problem is, somewhere along the line, he forgot that a lot of these people were good friends, so much as far as knowing his entire family, and all that. Then, somewhere in there, he had this idea that you either have to keep your friends, or devote your life to Robotech and dump those that don't wish to follow that lifestyle. During that time, that's when Memo stopped bringing fandom together, and decided on alienating fans and breaking the fandome apart. As far as little Dougie, that's just a guy who wants to be so much more that he is, but never will be. I've never heard someone so far off from reality and truth in my entire life, but nevertheless, he still believes all he says just cause it's on a minor podcast. I mean, geez, this guy still thinks I'm trying to "do something" in the Robotech community, as if I cared about starting a Robotech fan group/cult. You have these two guys that feed off of each other's crap like it's the only food source, and it's why you have so many backwards ideas coming from that region. And this all makes sense by this First couple sentences explains so much in the reason why things are going ass backward. Then,,,Politics??? JT may have dived into the ugliness of politics over an anime, but that's much different than pretending to be a f!@king mermaid, and swimming in it, like the others do.

Ahhh, haven't been here in awhile. that's $2000 pesos, (j/k) $2000 USD. If I find some available for decent prices, I'll let you know. I haven't looked around lately, but I'm gonna seriously look around June.

They're probably talking about how cutting edge Jolibee's is in the fast food market because they sell Robotech product. Guys, this is gonna save Robotech, just wait and see. The good thing is, it's probably got more higher quality than Toynami.

If anything, the post at rtx.com seems more like "I put my foot in my mouth again, and I need to rectify my ignorance for the time." What he says is true, but coming from him, it comes off very pretentious and fake. If he practiced what he preached, I'd be totally onboard with his post, but how many times has he attacked various groups, resorted to name calling, and the sort? I think JT would have something different to say. And for those here that interact with Mav on other boards, I hold no reservation on your opinions. To make that comment only after he's pissed off Robotech fans and Macross fans is more spin that a dryer.

Hahaha, wether you're good at it or not, hanging out with local Macross fans would be cool. I know there's quite a few of us around, and to not have smalle gatherings from time to time is almost a shame. There's a wealth of info, and good people around, this would be a way to break the ice a bit.

OK Update, there are a couple guys who want to come, but can't make the 13th, so I'm gonna push it to Saturday the 20th. This will also get the word out a little more for those who catch this late in the game. We will have some people bringing some very cool stuff that I haven't seen yet, so should be interesting. If anyone who is coming wants to bring stuff, bring it on. I'll be bringing an item or two. Bee, still down for poker on that day???

I take it those are done in musical notation, or is it tablature? If so, I may have to get them.

Yep, those guys were once good Robotech fans. Apparently, Maverick's post is even rippling into the RT fanbase. One of these days, I'm gonna call all Macross Fans who didn't like or understand M7 uneducated, stupid fans. We'll see how that goes over (j/k).

OK, I was thinking a tentative date of Saturday, March 13th. There's a Curry House Restaurant, as well as several Ramen places, and plenty places to walk to. I was thinking either noon, or 1p.m. What's in Cerritos that would be better? That's a plan, anyone volunteering the space? I'd use mine, but very limited with space, as you know.

I don't think she made a cheap shot. Maverick does say that he was attempting to flatter Seto. It's there in his own print. Not only that, I doubt that you hound people and troll for them, and attempt to get them to respond to you. There's a big difference. I think you're alright, Gubaba.

I'd like to read what more Robotech fans think of mods like Maverick_LSC calling most of them too stupid to understand a show that wasn't even written by the sci-fi author Mav thinks it is. So far, I've pointed it out to a couple, one of which kinda knows Maverick, or at least did. He thinks he's a complete dumbass...can't blame him.

Just out of curiosity, did you tryout the Planet Dance tab yet? It's a lot harder to write these out than to play them. Sometimes I leave stuff out.

Where are you at now? I didn't want everyone to think this is a huge official event or anything, just something to do. I haven't been down to Little Tokyo for awhile so I thought that'd be a good place to go. If anyone had any other ideas, they are open.

You're talking about a complete imecile with absolutely no idea of anything that goes on outside of Robotech. Seeing him try to write like he actually does no what is going on is more for kicks. I wouldn't even bother trying to correct his remarks. If it doesn't say Robotech in the subject, his brain is shut down.

Be afraid, be VERY afraid. If anything, it does show that Maverick does have a true fondness for you. Imagine how it'll be when you break his heart?!?!
