  1. I got quite a few plans with these...1 will be a Minmay Guard, the other may be a very ambitious project, the "Platypus"
  2. While there are some really (trying to find a less abrasive word) "poor" choice desisions and statements people in the RT fandom have made, I have to agree on the question of why take them so seriously. Hell, I may have my dislikes, but I'm not taking them seriously, even though they are. What is Maverick's piss poor analysis going to change? What is Memo's lack, and downright twisting of info going to effect? What is dougbendo's eneducated rationale going to infiltrate? NOTHING. You're talking about these people as if they run the show, and they're nothing but side commentators for a few people to listen to. Now, aside from pointing out the obvious stupidity that seems to come up almost daily that we all point out, why let them affect you to the point of spending your life hating someone? I'd rather just not give a rat's @ss about them. Seto, in your case, I can see why and how it could urk you that much, but you having that much of a problem with someone doesn't mean that we all have to take the same train. This isn't making excuses for their idiotic posts, comments, and actions, nor is it a reprieve for them either. But calling Gubaba a hypocrite for being able to converse with someone you can't stand is a little overboard.
  3. These just came in the mail today. Love the packaging and will open one up later today. Will have pics up tonight of it, but for now...
  4. Now, that would take the fun out of it, wouldn't it? Part of why translated versions of Macross the First haven't been floating around here, too. No one would buy these if all the new stuff was just scanned and posted on here.
  5. Well, that kinda coincides with what I said. Either way they wanna play it, they're using it as a card, and they're gonna play that card to benefit them. The whole incident is quite childish, and you'd think it would've been shrugged off long ago. whether it's getting offended, or wanting to bask is a little admiration out of persecution, it's all pretty feable for weak minded people. Again, my opinion on this even only. In other semi related news, I did hear the rtfan podcast's most recent droppings in the RT toilet, and it talks about the UEG issue. Guess who were the first voices to chime in? Juanrt and Memo. It sounded like greedy rt fans just wanting something, by the bitching of UEG not putting Genesis on rt.com. Memo's name on the podcast is S-California, and Maverick was on there as well. They still form a false opinion that UEG was trying to make their Genesis show as a business dea and make money off it, as if it is gospell. Maverick was on there, pretending like he knew exactly what transpired. Do these guys even listen at all, or read? Same ol' song and dance, I guess. In anycase, the only people who could shed light on what happened, was HG, and the guys at UEG, and UEG did. The rest of the show is all assinine assumption from the other guys on the show. I'd give you guys the link to listen, but it was a lot of wasted time, and it just goes back to the same ol rt fans role playing like they are "professionals" in the industry, and pretending like they all know exactly what happened and knew all the intentions of both sides. SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND DON'T BOTHER. I JUST SUMMED IT ALL UP FOR YOU.

    Supah Happy Party Set!

There you go, let's make a board game. Macrossonopoly. In anycase, Exo, I can wait for mine next time I see you. I'll also be sending you payment for the remaining set(s)
  7. While the implication is there, there is not direct threat, just a vague statement about prices of hitmen. While it does seem over the top, there's a big difference between "All Macross Purist should be hung" and "Death to all Macross Purists" vs. "But Hit men are expensive" You gotta be quite the sissy to make the biggest issue in the world out of that latter statement. Even the direct statements, while direct and full of enough negativity to invalidate everything that person says, they're regarding a cartoon. I find it quite funny when people make these online threats and try to talk tough over the internet. Half these people would piss their pants if in a real situation. Most people I know that back their stuff up don't talk this way online. Why do you think the whole podcast bile from some RT podcasters makes them more retarded the more they talk? Just my opinion. but I think there's some validity to it. Much more than many would care to admit (especially those in question).
  8. I think the sum of what the possible director was saying is that HG has restrictions on creating Macross works, like a LAM. Whether the exact terminology is used in his statement is bean counting here, and if people are gonna argue over that, it's fine. However, that's not gonna cover up, or change the fact that THERE ARE RESTRICTIONS, and they are there. In that sense, yes, there is a "read it and weep" in some sense, although, not sure why. This has been easy common knowledge on these boards and by many, many others out there for a long time. I'm sure they can always make up some excuse that he doesn't know what he's talking about cause he's not a true Robotech fan. Afterall, only true Robotech fans understand the licensing issues. I swear, it's like pissing in the wind and calling it a statewide rain storm.
  9. I'd gladly help, but it'd need to be a group effort. I don't have access to any locations, nor do I have the time. I can help with contacting guests and sponsors, even working on flyers, but that's about the extent.
  10. To Kamikaze Kamujin, I don't even see how if Memo was paid a little on the side by HG really means a big conspiracy of not. As someone who gets tons of this type of info all the time, Memo as an employee isn't something that is one of them. Out of respect of privacy, I know where Memo works, and what he does, and punching a clock at HG isn't part of it. Now, maybe he gets alternative payment in goods and services for his participation, maybe even getting some money in small forms for specific things, but he's not on HG's payroll. If you have a source, send me a pm message, and I'll keep it between us, and maybe fill you in on what is and isn't verifiable. There's reasons why I don't advertise info like that. 1)It serves no purpose for such trivial info, 2) If you can't verify the source, it stays just as a rumor. Just my opinion on that, but like I said, if you wanna hash through facts, I can provide quite a bit.
  11. Thanks guys for the compliments and all. I thought I put updated pics in here...Apparently, I'm losing it, hahaha. Anyways, Just about done. Working ont he cockpit now, and upper arms. Then, once I have the little pieces done, like the landing gear covers, I'll start assembling. Oh yeah, forgot the head too, gotta do that. I'm thinking of having the head lens be clear blue or clear purple. Might go w/ clear blue since it's more contrast to the purple. I've got more decals drying right now, so tomorrow I'll be putting up what should be the last batch of them on this valk.
  12. Yep, there's a big difference between moving forward, and merely getting your ducks in a row, which seems to be the case here. In the rt.com thread, Memo welcomes the "naysayers", and it looks like even that director is kinda a naysayer at this point. I agree that this news doesn't mean that it isn't anywhere closer to getting made. When there's a greenlight, then I'll say OK, WB (not HG) is working on it. I know that's something Tommy, Kevin, and Memo like to forget and they make these half-assed comments that associate HG with this project. Aside from negotiating with WB in getting the rights and the sort, this is WB's baby, and they're either gonna do it, or not. HG can't take credit for any news coming from this.
  13. Looking for a director could mean they have enough of a script done to start asking around for potential directors. The part that everyone is skipping is the not greenlit portion. I wouldn't be popping off the Champagne yet either, with the possible director. "I Know What You Did Last Summer 3"??? "Stomp the Yard"??? Not stuff I'd be bragging about so much. I can see it now, Rickie Hunter pop lockin' with a broom stick in Very Tek fighter training. Good F!@kin' Grief!!!
  14. If they redid SDF: Macross, this is how it should be done. So far, I'm loving it.
  15. Who knows, probably just garbage writing, even from the big name writers. I've heard stories of some of them just writing something to get paid, especially if it's something they don't necessarily want to work on. What's funny is that HG still boasts thes writers as "still working on the LAM", which they probably turned out some incoherent garbage, got a fat paycheck, then went on their merry way. That's probably why they went with a no namer. Maybe he may actually care about it. Still, it's been stuck in preprod hell, and after seeing Clash of the Titans, looks like Hades himself is gonna keep that thing where it belongs.
  16. I thought that the pic of Hikaru's "license" was cool, and now I want one of those Skull Team hats. But yeah, I noticed all the clothes he had on were quite large. This series really makes me drool over Minmay. She's so damn cute in this. Well, same with Misa. Speaking of, is 7th Code, will they put it back in later issues? Yeah, forgot to mention that. Pretty cool designs. OK, what was the girl in the Diebuster looking spacesuit for the Mechatronix? Not a bad looking design, just never saw it before. I also noticed a Cospa Fire Bomber wind breaker/jacket priced at like 4650 yen. I'm in. I'm gonna get one. Too awesome to pass up.
  17. What time did you go there? I was there since I'm working across the street for 4 weeks. I went on my break at 1035 hrs, got my Chronicle #45. Wasn't all that interesting of an issue. Not like #43 and #44, with the various Valks. Macross Ace had some interesting pics in the "mechatronics" section, some space suit I haven't seen in Macross, and a Valkyrie with 6 legs, 4 wings, 4 arms, and Klan sitting on top of it. What the hell was that about?
  18. Agreed. Although, I've never had the feeling of having to accept it as continuity. I've seen enough anime to run into shows and series that weren't great in design, or CG, or even animation, but the story was there, and it was still very enjoyable. I've also seen anime that didn't have the greatest of stories, but the animation and animatography was awesome. Even that is fun to watch. RTSC had neither, so even with the bad budget, there's no excuse for it being so bad. I wouldn't say most fans, just the more vocal ones. The thinking of those few have been so warped and skewed, that you have to wonder if they even are able to think for themselves in anything else. People hanging off of every word HG says like life depends on it is just stupid. I also find it funny that anyone who has questions, or doubts about if HG is really doing anything is always asked by the RT fanatics to "back up your statement", yet when HG has no way, or refuses to backup their "facts", it's taken at face value. That's the kind of "thinking" that makes me laugh every time. If I had an account over there, I'd ask that, but then again, they read here everyday, so I'm sure that's a question they'll "gracefully skip".
  19. Is that pic supposed to be a rendition of real actors portraying Macross characters? If so, it's more reason why a LAM could = epic fail. Agreed on that being one of the ugliest pics I've seen of the characters. The art style isn't so bad though.
  20. With Beagle not continuing, it appears this is about all we're gonna get. I don't know any other company that would put out another version. It is unfortunate, too. I like the scale of the Toynami/Aoshima, just can't stand the quality. The CMs Beta is awesome, just can't stand the off-scale issue. I've been looking into trying to get some of the CDs and the Love, Live, Alive footage. Did that ever come out on DVD, or LD, or anything like that?
  21. Got my email from Kinokuniya, Ace 004 is in. Gubaba, I'm sure they ntfd you. I'll be getting it tomorrow. Awesome stuff.
  22. All those fans who submitted "their" stuff. Yeah, sorry man. That's why I kept my stuff. If I sent pics of my customs, they'd probably send a letter asking for my toys.
  23. When I originally saw Robotech, I was thinking "What is this protoculture thing? It's not in Macross! They translated it wrong." Then when the Southern Cross happened, I knew it was taken to the chop shop. I used to have all those Revell model kits. Unfortunately, my modelling skills weren't up to par then, and I butchered the Roy Focker one (whatever it was called by Revell).
  24. That's our good ol' HG there, have fans do all the work, and HG will take the credit. Why do people even try to bother getting the blessings of the dysfunctional morons over there? Just like the "fan artbook" project. That guy, Brian McAfee has been trying to get HG to give him permission to do his book, but they've been giving him the runaround for sometime. Why even bother. If you're gonna do something as a labor of love, just do it. The second you get the company involved, it becomes a "how can we make this ours and make money off of it" ordeal. If the C&D was written for someone who wasn't working on the project at the time, and not to Nenad or anyone else actually working on it, doesn't that kinda nullify the letter? I still think they should put it out like they had planned, as a free episode, and see what HG actually does. My guess, is that they wouldn't do a damn thing. Are they really going to fly to serbia for some court issue over a fan project? Something that isn't done by a company, but by a fan, as a fan project? I'm sure, proving the no money made, not sold, not done as a profit is easy to prove, even if they wanted to try to waste money on a lost cause.
  25. I think they know they've been given the runaround, but they just pretend that it isn't the runaround. To admit that, would mean that they've been wrong for a looonnnggg time. From where the video came from, and from seeing Maverick's post up there, it's a one-two punch of epic fail in getting anything right. Well, that anchors down the misinformation society pretty well. Knowing that as being a straight up lie throws everything they try to push with a bigger question mark (as if there wasn't one already). On top of that, having the angry little crackhead podcaster trying to find info on you is quite odd, too. Speaking of lil dougie, he tried to add me as a "friend" on Facebook. Then proceeds to talk crap about me. He must've gotten his feelings hurt by me not adding him. Seems like he gets mad cause he can't make friends, and has to take it out somewhere. Someone should ask him what it is that hurt him so bad, hahaha. Poor wounded lil guy.
