You know I'll help with what I can.
-
The problem with that task, is that it would require one, or more people to watch it again, and probably again after that. Things I know for a fact I cannot bring myself to do. I've seen it 2.5 times, and I think that's about all I can stomach. The fact that HG keeps bragging about it being a top 10 pick in some no namer magazine, and winning best animated film in some film festival where it was pretty much the only entry actually helps people turn away from it (except the diehards, and no harm there).

Macross is definitely popular, even here in the states. It's surprising to see the cosplayers here in various states. Word of mouth and a strong anime help this out.

I don't have the book out to get scans, but I can tell you that if you are a fan of the character, this is a great book. Lot's of scrumpdidleumptious photos. One of the books I was more than happy to pick up for sure. I don't think you'd be disappointed at all.

I'll have two fan racers if this works out. I wish they'd just come out with one that had landing gear, and all, and came with the damn Hikaru pilot. But if the group buy goes into effect, I'm definitely in.

Nah man, Songstress of the Galaxy! Hahaha. As for the Matchbox fiasco, their toys were hit an miss. As a kid, I collected the Zentraedi figs, Battlepods, invid, and the joke machines. But I could never get into the hero figs. They always looked so freakin fugly. Scott was alright though, as his hair was short, so adapting that to a figure worked out OK. Rick Hunter's mullet though, not a good representation.

hot damn!!! That is the absolute hottest of the Sharon Apples I've yet to see

We need a Frakkin group buy! When this comes out. I didn't bite on the 1/48 AB, but always wanted one. The fact that it comes with a fan racer (altohough, not painted again) is kinda cool. FTR, a group buy is in need it seems.

Ahhh, still need to get those Bunny and white costume Sheryls, just don't have the money at this point. also, the prices are a bit too high at this point. If anyone knows where to get them at a decent price, or if anyone has extras, let me know.

I'll be going for sure, not sure if one or more days though.

You know, for the most part, you are correct. But I wouldn't say all Robotech fans are pathetic. Actually, most I know are good, decent guys, that don't isolate other fans because they have different opinions. We talk about a few fanatical crazy RT fans, and they think we are trying to trash talk all of them. Not true. What they need to realize is that it's just a couple of them, the more vocal ones that think they know what they're talking about, that we talk about. I'm sure, HP, that you've heard that they think you're not a fan of Robotech as well, otherwise, you wouldn't be doing the trash talking. That's what a couple think of me, but really, they'll say that in defense of the truths that are told here. To some, the "you're just saying that cause you wanna kill Robotech" defense helps them to invalidate whatever is said, and write off everything here. It's why I don't delve too deeply in the politics as heavily. What good is trying to convince crazy fanboys locked in their mom's basement of what is real? To be honest, those guys are the best comedy, as most of what they say is so far out there, you'd think they were trying to create a new soap opera. But yeah, HP, you are the devil in carnate, and you're not a real fan of Robotech, cause you want to kill it. The insanity!!!

Hahaha, I heard that!!! My old Sentinels comics are worth more than those, although, the very first comic that came out I have signed by Tony Oliver, Dan Warren. It's the only one of all those comics I really kept and appreciate. Speaking of comics, I have an issue of the promo comic that was the prelude to the Nintendo game that never made it, Crystal Dreams I think it is. Is that worth anything? I know it's rare, just have no clue about the worth of it. I also have the very first issue of Protoculture Addicts, which is all black and white. Is that worth anything? I need to make more space, so I maybe looking to part with this stuff very soon.

I thought the film was quite clean and edited well. It had more of an emotional feel than most fans would expect, but I think that aspect of it is interesting, and people who are into short films will appreciate the effort and work involved in this production. Congrats on a job well done and I hope you guys do more in the future. Even if it's not Robotech, the style of the cinematography is cool.

Yeah, I'm kinda curious, too. The old comics of the 90s were decent to all the way craptastic. Some were so abstract that they were an abstract adaptation of an abstract storyline. But, in all fairness, at least they were more independent and kept the franchise on life support during the time. What's strange is that even with all the hype that has come and gone in 5 years, it's still in that same position as back then. Go figure.

Why am I starting to have second thoughts on this happening this year?

There was always this strife that was noticed when Carl left the first time. In past interviews and comments, it always seemed that he wanted to get back into HG, and back onto Robotech. Being that he's back in HG to one extent or another, perhaps he's saying that simply due to the fact that he'd rather be a part of that, then a part of nothing. It's just an opinion, but I don't think he'd be around if he was going to criticize the direction they're taking Robotech in.

Anybody wanna buy my PTTSC comics, with first issue signed by Tommy Yune? $300 OBO

Jerks, pedophiles, Robotech killers, and haters. That's why I hate you all. I drink my daily Hater-aide, Hahaha (j/k for those that have no sense of humor)

Thanks for the compliments. The SDF-1 is just there, no work will be put into that. There are too many broken pieces, and it's just a floppy mess. I've been fixing the minor missing decals, and all that, so still working on the Sheryl Guard. I'm glad it does transform without any hitches. I will be putting up pics of the decals here when I'm done. So anyone who wants to use them can. As for the MacF specific decals, you'll have to get those from the decal sets that are out there. I will be doing a Minmay Guard probably next, as well as working out the possibility of the Platypus (which will be done from the unassembled version.)

For the MW con 10, we should figure out who is in, who is out, and whatnot. Bee, are you completely out? Once we get a loc, I think everything starts moving in a natural process. I'd like to help, and can do so to some extent, but I think instead of having one person do it, it should be a team. I'll commit myself to getting this done, but there needs to be others that commit, then get things going. I'm not the one for a loc, since I don't have those types of contacts, but I can help with contacting the vendors/sponsors, getting the flyer together, and if anyone is planning on shipping stuff, I can keep the stuff here. That's what I can contribute.

Awesome!!! i got the DVDs, but didn't get the booklet. I think that's the only thing I didn't get. Looks cool.

Thanks, this is the first "custom job" I've done since leaving the old Chunkey Monkey behind. Once the decals dry for the shoulder tops, I'll have pics of it up in Battroid mode.
-
Still need some touch up work, but here it is assembled in Fighter mode. I'm quite happy with the turnout. Still need to do the shoulders, and coat the head, as well as fix some decals that are being troublesome. Alas, here it is.

I really don't care who directs the movie. If they get this Sylvain guy, maybe there will be some scary killer in it, a few dance battles, and the sort. Hell, maybe it'll even have Mtv get involved and it'll have Tila Tequila play Hooker Minmay.
