Really now, is there a difference? Advancing the "word", excommunicating those that don't believe the same, trying to site internet wars (arguably called that), threats of violence against the "non believers", and RT zealouts that have lost touch with reality. Seriously, aside from the obvious focus of the religion, what is the difference. I'm sure they'd use that against some here, and in some cases rightly so, but I've never seen it to that extent. I mean, this stuff is cool and all, but there's much more to life, and many more important things than animated shows. I know, I speak blasphemy.

In regards to that issue, well, look at whom you are speaking about. That alone rest the entire case right there. It simply goes back to the issue of making people "find and show proof" when it's already been shown, and then hanging off every word HG says without any. If anyone was smart over there, they'd do the same thing and make HG show proof that they're doing stuff, that Shadow Rising is in "production", so on and so forth. They'd probably get banned for being disruptive, hahaha. What can you do? Common sense really isn't so common when you're a fanboy, esp. when it comes to Robotech. Just no happy medium.

No, you're not reading too far into it. Most games from movies suck pretty bad. Now, as far as the news, as has been pointed out...really? Is it really big news? No, it isn't unless you're a half-witted fanboy. It may be interesting news, cool news, whatever, but c'mon. This is almost standard practice. I would've been shocked if it turned out that some other company kept those rights. That would've been more shocking. In the end though, it still doesn't mean crap about the movie, nor does it validate that the movie is a for sure thing. It doesn't mean they're closer to getting it done either. This was probably just a simple agreement that was in the original contract WB and HG agreed to, so, in essence, it's old @$$ news. If the movie doesn't even get a green light, or never makes it to any sort of production, don't expect the game to come out anytime soon. The game is in the same thin thread as the actual movie. I don't think Gubaba's ever been to a successful "Robotech Party". Then again, they don't really exist anymore. Those were way back when Razorx, his wife Valkyrie22, and I would throw them at our houses in the day. Since then, they've been very hard to come by. On a sidenote, it's funny seeing people that once followed lil' douchebendo's people turning on his show. I've had 5 people I know that use to listen to his show throw him under the bus, and a one even has sent me his conversations via IM. Apparently, more people had listened all that time to get a laugh from him, more than get verifiable true content. I think he also tried to hit on said guy before he totally wrote him off. Good stuff. Anyways, nothing wrong with figuring out someones a 5150 (person w/ mental illness) and realizes that their message isn't for them.

I'll be checking the site tonight, and (I'm guessing) should have just about all the songs. Now, for a good number of songs, I have with the singer and w/o. Do you want both, only one type, and which songs do you want me to pull from? All series, or just specific ones? It'll determine how many CDs I need to go through. -
Preordered already. This thing looks good.
-
Pure awesome!!! This is gonna be a fun show. And with all the Macross fans there to share it with. Good times.
-
Sounds pretty good, some of the voices sound a little stiff, some sound awesome. I like the mix and the aura of the whole file. Dramatic, and inspiring.
-
All that does sound interesting. I still think Robotech's problem is that it's been out way too long in a dark basement. Even Voltron, with not much more, has more product recognition than Robotech ever had. The Robotech franchise, for the most part, has been put into a corner, where there aren't many options for the franchise. The whole "banking on WB" issue is one of them. If that deal dies, what are they gonna do? What are they gonna tell the fans? They won't be able to use the "we're moving forward and progressing" lie they've been telling for who knows how long. For Shadow Rising, they didn't even have Funimation backing the project, so who do they have on their side to even, maybe do a reboot of anything? It seems like they've put themselves in a position to only do feature animated films, and low budget ones at that. Can all that change? Of course, but it doesn't look like it will, and it seems like they're stuck on wanting to do animated features and the continuation of Robotech.

I posted above that I wouldn't mind setting it all up for Yardhouse, just need people to shoot me pm's to confirm you're going. The other option of not planning is that we just decide to all show up and sit outside (as we wouldn't be able to get any space inside if the group is large enough and unannounced). As for time, I was thinking maybe Friday 7p.m. or if anyone else has any suggestions, throw them out here.

It'd be lame if you could only have certain things signed, unless they have Ranka/Sheryl stuff there to buy and have signed. I think May'n is signing on Thursday, and Megumi is signing stuff, or will have a panel on Saturday.

I'd be #241, but may be a bit too high, hahaha. I'm down to do that. -
To give you my take on your "is Robotech worth it" question. I've been a fan of both for a long time. While I've seen both several times, and without going into details, I found the original to be better. That's not to say I think Robotech sucks (unless you count what's come out since the original incarnation of Robotech, then it sucks). I even thought Sentinels, or the little that was shown, was alright, but I digress...I like the original, I like what it's lead to today, and I like the bigger story. In anycase, try hulu, then judge for yourself.

That's a nice lineart book. I'll have to see if Kinokuniya has it. BTW, could you provide the ISBN of that book? Thanks

Seems like it might be pretty cool. I'd like to see Wheeled Warriors make a comeback, but I don't think too many people remember that one.

6/11 DYRL & Frontier Movie Ropongi Anime Night

Damn, wish I could be there. That sounds like a lot of fun. One of these days, Cheryl and I will be out there for one of these events. -
After a false report by the Washington Post yesterday of Coach John Wooden's passing, it has been officially announced that the Coach, teacher, and inspiration to many, many people has passed away today. It's a sad day, and his life lessons will always be an inspiration to me, as well as many people. To Coach and teacher John Wooden, thank you for being the great man that you were. Basketball, UCLA, and this nation has lost a great treasure.

I met w/ Bee last night, and I gave him a CD of some M7 and Frontier vocal tracks people may want to sing. However, I did tell him that I have a full M7 karaoke CD w/ all instrumentals, and quite a few of the MF CDs I have have "karaoke" versions of the songs. I also have a crapload of other Macross CDs that have instrumental version of original Macross and Macross DYRL songs. Send me a PM, let me know what you need. I ahve about 30+ CDs. Oh, as for the romanji lyrics and all, that I don't have, but I'm sure they are downloadable somewhere on a website. Maybe someone in the Macross music section in the Macross series and story section can point to that section. -
The issue with the Sentinels is that while it's been de-canonized, all the core elements of it are there. Then when PTTSC came out that was canon, until people started pointing out flaws in that. Then Tommy made that pseudo-canon. Now, if I had to take RT II:The Sentinels vs. what Sentinels is as seen in PTTSC, I'd rather see RT II:The Sentinels all over again, and all the way through. It seems that has always been a block for them, trying to make something original out of something that was pieced together. You'd think they'd at least do maybe an online comic of Sentinels to give people an idea of how it all goes down, but it's left open to muddy up the waters. I think if you take a little from Sentinels, little from the Jack McKinney novels, and some from the PTTSC, I think you kinda get what Sentinels is, or maybe should be for most. Even that's questionable though. I guess just make up your own story there.

Yeah, I'm surprised the Skull patch is doing best. It's not very original at all. I voted for the last entry. At least you can tell some time went into it.
-
K, let's get crackin' on this. First, the names so that we know who to title when the thing is played out.
-
Communism at its best I tell ya.

After reading this, LOL, sign me up. i'll voice someone. We definitely need a good narrator too. It'd be even great to have a couple lines where a character accidentally describes the ship as White base, or says things like "this looks awefully familiar".

Sounds like some people's complaint of us.

Maybe she did have her husband's last name before she found out he was a scumbag, divorced him, and took her maiden name back. If not for some interesting story, perhaps it's just that the creators wanted to pull character identification, so that we'd know who she is, where she came from.

the Lilith character looks cute. Thanks guys, for posting up pics on all this.
