  1. Sounds pretty good, some of the voices sound a little stiff, some sound awesome. I like the mix and the aura of the whole file. Dramatic, and inspiring.
  2. All that does sound interesting. I still think Robotech's problem is that it's been out way too long in a dark basement. Even Voltron, with not much more, has more product recognition than Robotech ever had. The Robotech franchise, for the most part, has been put into a corner, where there aren't many options for the franchise. The whole "banking on WB" issue is one of them. If that deal dies, what are they gonna do? What are they gonna tell the fans? They won't be able to use the "we're moving forward and progressing" lie they've been telling for who knows how long. For Shadow Rising, they didn't even have Funimation backing the project, so who do they have on their side to even, maybe do a reboot of anything? It seems like they've put themselves in a position to only do feature animated films, and low budget ones at that. Can all that change? Of course, but it doesn't look like it will, and it seems like they're stuck on wanting to do animated features and the continuation of Robotech.
  3. I posted above that I wouldn't mind setting it all up for Yardhouse, just need people to shoot me pm's to confirm you're going. The other option of not planning is that we just decide to all show up and sit outside (as we wouldn't be able to get any space inside if the group is large enough and unannounced). As for time, I was thinking maybe Friday 7p.m. or if anyone else has any suggestions, throw them out here.
  4. It'd be lame if you could only have certain things signed, unless they have Ranka/Sheryl stuff there to buy and have signed. I think May'n is signing on Thursday, and Megumi is signing stuff, or will have a panel on Saturday.
  5. I'd be #241, but may be a bit too high, hahaha. I'm down to do that.
  6. To give you my take on your "is Robotech worth it" question. I've been a fan of both for a long time. While I've seen both several times, and without going into details, I found the original to be better. That's not to say I think Robotech sucks (unless you count what's come out since the original incarnation of Robotech, then it sucks). I even thought Sentinels, or the little that was shown, was alright, but I digress...I like the original, I like what it's lead to today, and I like the bigger story. In anycase, try hulu, then judge for yourself.
  7. That's a nice lineart book. I'll have to see if Kinokuniya has it. BTW, could you provide the ISBN of that book? Thanks
  8. Seems like it might be pretty cool. I'd like to see Wheeled Warriors make a comeback, but I don't think too many people remember that one.
  9. Damn, wish I could be there. That sounds like a lot of fun. One of these days, Cheryl and I will be out there for one of these events.
  10. After a false report by the Washington Post yesterday of Coach John Wooden's passing, it has been officially announced that the Coach, teacher, and inspiration to many, many people has passed away today. It's a sad day, and his life lessons will always be an inspiration to me, as well as many people. To Coach and teacher John Wooden, thank you for being the great man that you were. Basketball, UCLA, and this nation has lost a great treasure.
  11. I met w/ Bee last night, and I gave him a CD of some M7 and Frontier vocal tracks people may want to sing. However, I did tell him that I have a full M7 karaoke CD w/ all instrumentals, and quite a few of the MF CDs I have have "karaoke" versions of the songs. I also have a crapload of other Macross CDs that have instrumental version of original Macross and Macross DYRL songs. Send me a PM, let me know what you need. I ahve about 30+ CDs. Oh, as for the romanji lyrics and all, that I don't have, but I'm sure they are downloadable somewhere on a website. Maybe someone in the Macross music section in the Macross series and story section can point to that section.
  12. The issue with the Sentinels is that while it's been de-canonized, all the core elements of it are there. Then when PTTSC came out that was canon, until people started pointing out flaws in that. Then Tommy made that pseudo-canon. Now, if I had to take RT II:The Sentinels vs. what Sentinels is as seen in PTTSC, I'd rather see RT II:The Sentinels all over again, and all the way through. It seems that has always been a block for them, trying to make something original out of something that was pieced together. You'd think they'd at least do maybe an online comic of Sentinels to give people an idea of how it all goes down, but it's left open to muddy up the waters. I think if you take a little from Sentinels, little from the Jack McKinney novels, and some from the PTTSC, I think you kinda get what Sentinels is, or maybe should be for most. Even that's questionable though. I guess just make up your own story there.
  13. Yeah, I'm surprised the Skull patch is doing best. It's not very original at all. I voted for the last entry. At least you can tell some time went into it.
  14. K, let's get crackin' on this. First, the names so that we know who to title when the thing is played out.
  15. Communism at its best I tell ya.
  16. After reading this, LOL, sign me up. i'll voice someone. We definitely need a good narrator too. It'd be even great to have a couple lines where a character accidentally describes the ship as White base, or says things like "this looks awefully familiar".
  17. Sounds like some people's complaint of us.
  18. Maybe she did have her husband's last name before she found out he was a scumbag, divorced him, and took her maiden name back. If not for some interesting story, perhaps it's just that the creators wanted to pull character identification, so that we'd know who she is, where she came from.
  19. the Lilith character looks cute. Thanks guys, for posting up pics on all this.
  20. Nice shirt, did you do the shoes, too? If so, did you do it through one of those custom shoe sites? Good match on it all.
  21. Um, yeah. I think the timing is still a little off.
  22. Frakkin' awesome!!! You can do an awesome display with that thing. I really gotta put together my 1/10 scale Fuke resin kit.
  23. Hahaha, yeah, totally forgot the distance, had probably enough fun for 2 or 3 people last time, but yeah, easily walking distance, and literally 2 minutes walking in L.A. Live from Nokia theater, where the concert will be. Right after in that main center in the plaza will be Battle of the Bands too, so before we go drink and celebrate, we can check out the bands playing their favorite anime songs. Right across from that is Staples center, and right around the corner is the Convention Center. It's all centrally located. For those planning to be there for that time only, I suggest if you're gonna go to the expo, don't remove your car. Parking at L.A. live is very expensive (depending on time, can cost about $20+) If you are going straight there, there's parking across the street and a block away that isn't as pricey. Just throwing that out there for you. Also, I might as well get an official list so that I can see about reservations. If you are planning to meet friday at Yardhouse, pm me so I can get an accurate count. I expect there to be a lot of people at that Yardhouse during that time, so setting this up properly can save us time. Just a quick pm letting me know you're gonna go to the meet and greet. Thanks.
  24. Just got that book and it's quite good. Not just the Macross stuff, but the Gundam art, Votoms, Eureka 7 and some Patlabor. Pricey, but a very cool book.
  25. Based on where the series is going to be published, it doesn't seem like this is going to be something for all Frontier fans, or at least not aimed for all of them. I guess you could say that about most of the products, as I don't think the DX Chogokins are made for all the fans either, but there you go.
