  1. Hanging out with bands is freakin' awesome. A number of years ago, my old band opened up for the Spin Doctors at the Key Club. Before we went on stage, we hung out with them and all their groupies on their tour bus. Then, we went on, did our set. After we had a crew pack our stuff up (never had that done before) and getting compiments from the band, they went on, the we partied with them more afterward. Gun times, indeed.
  2. I would hope you guys do pass some out at AX. If we can get enough printed out, it shouldn't be a problem. And for the record, if anyone is going to any other conventions in the near future, and would like to pass out flyers, let me know, let me know. There's Macross fans all over this country, and I think it'd be cool to get some coming from everywhere.
  3. Shouldn't be too hard to create. When Cheryl and I get home from dinner tonight, we'll email it to you.
  4. Thanks guys. All I really did was provide images and some ideas, but my wife is the one who put it together. She's a graphics designer, and a damn good one. There is a high res version of this, and a poster size can actually be done (800 DPI version) It may be a good one to use for a welcome board for the con. In looking at the flyer, what a cool show that would be to see all those characters in one concert, hahaha. This will be the flyer that gets passed around to various conventions, and put in a couple anime and comic book shops (if they're willing).
  5. To answer your question, there isn't anyone really doing decal or sticker sheets...However, when I did mine, I had to make my own custom decals, and use some 1/72 scale decals. I'm in need of finding high quality decal sheets so that I can start making some for people. If anyone has links, or knows where Anasazi used to get his decal sheets from, I can make some decals possibly, or at least we can make all our own.
  6. You can never go wrong with Iron Maiden. One of the last concerts I went to was to see The Cult at Club Nokia, downtown L.A. If you haven't listened to them before, and you like Hard Rock w/ hints of metal, that's one helluva band to listen to. They throw probably one of the grittiest, guitar thrashing, high energy concerts out there. Right now, I'm listening to the Cult, and the Used, another good band with a great vocalist.
  7. Out of curiosity, what time will people going to the concert get there to wait? I'm probably gonna have my gear ready and my wife and I will probably get there early, say 11 or 11:30. I wanna make sure we get real close seats. If anyone is planning on getting there earlier, perhaps we should all set it up where we at least try to get in line around the same time? Oh, and the Yardhouse does get packed, but not too packed to where you can't get in at all. If we ask for outside, it will be a shorter wait too.
  8. Hey all, I'm pleased to show you the first flyer of the con. As more info comes out as far as what will be showcased at the con, the info will be added to the flyer. Hope you enjoy.
  9. You know, that pic makes Minmay look like an 18th St cholita down at the hood mall, waiting to take her glamour shots, with "Rascal" giving the big thumbs up in the background. If Minmay looked like that, I could totally understand why she lost out to Lisa.
  10. If you want to show it at the MWcon10, you can always ship it and have one of the panel people display it. Who knows, they may even be able to help with the shipping. I'm not in charge of that, but there are people that ship their custom stuff for display. It's nice to have this stuff in the company of other customs.
  11. Congrats on your recent marriage to come. If it's in that book, it's most likely the piano sheet music, if that's what you're looking for. I've wanted guitar sheet music, but I think the beauty of the song is that the note and chord progression can be improvised and still sound and keep the original sound of the song.
  12. Here's better sized pics of them. Here's most of my collection in sections, and I didn't take them out cause it'd take way too long, and some is missing for a project my wife is doing. Additionally to this, I have the manga of Mac7 trash, original and the new printings, SDF Macross Manga, and Mac: The First. For macross Chronicles, I have them all, finally, but it doesn't show here (project). Sorry if the pics are large.
  13. Hey, humble or not, you got some great stuff there, and you shouldn't be humble about it.
  14. Hahaha, that's what I thought, it was just such an in depth discussion. One of my friends though, who isn't really a fan of any of this, used to have the RoyFocker screen name for Playstation 2's SOCOM US Navy Seals when we had are REF clan. He used to love yelling over the head set FOCKER!!! (Faw-ker). We always got a good laugh at it.
  15. I'm pretty sure it's always been pronounced (Foe-ker) in both series. Is this really a debate?
  16. Welcome to the anime composed like swiss cheese, full of holes. That out of the way, I find it entertaining, even with it's rough edges. It's not refined like Macross, but it can be entertaining if you're not trying to pick it apart. As for the voice actors, that's one of the things I thought was done right by HG. The voices fit the characters about as much as possible (except I'm not a fan of Minmay's american voice.) Still, that is one of the shining moments in the franchise. As for the specific scene you're talking about, where Roy yells out Rick,,,there's two ways to look at that. 1) You can say that he doesn't say it with enough emotion and that the line was said poorly, or 2) In a more realistic setting, being a squadron leader, you'd understand that Roy is a man who's not gonna lose all composure during a battle. I think that part was done just fine. Too much emotion, and the character loses the "Skull Squadron" leader feel, not enough, and he seems like a robot. I think it was done just fine. That's my opinion though.
  17. Just a heads up.... I wasn't able to get enough confirmations for any reserved space at the Yardhouse, so I'm thinking we should settle for food/drinks in the patio. It should be nice and warm outside. I think if we meet up in front about 6:45-7:00p.m., we can figure out the number, and if they'll need to move the patio tables and chairs.

Looks pretty cool. I'm quite busy with work, and doing extra work on other projects, but when I get some time, I wouldn't mind trying to add to your site. Looks fun, and covers other anime too.
  19. Really now, is there a difference? Advancing the "word", excommunicating those that don't believe the same, trying to site internet wars (arguably called that), threats of violence against the "non believers", and RT zealouts that have lost touch with reality. Seriously, aside from the obvious focus of the religion, what is the difference. I'm sure they'd use that against some here, and in some cases rightly so, but I've never seen it to that extent. I mean, this stuff is cool and all, but there's much more to life, and many more important things than animated shows. I know, I speak blasphemy.
  20. In regards to that issue, well, look at whom you are speaking about. That alone rest the entire case right there. It simply goes back to the issue of making people "find and show proof" when it's already been shown, and then hanging off every word HG says without any. If anyone was smart over there, they'd do the same thing and make HG show proof that they're doing stuff, that Shadow Rising is in "production", so on and so forth. They'd probably get banned for being disruptive, hahaha. What can you do? Common sense really isn't so common when you're a fanboy, esp. when it comes to Robotech. Just no happy medium.
  21. No, you're not reading too far into it. Most games from movies suck pretty bad. Now, as far as the news, as has been pointed out...really? Is it really big news? No, it isn't unless you're a half-witted fanboy. It may be interesting news, cool news, whatever, but c'mon. This is almost standard practice. I would've been shocked if it turned out that some other company kept those rights. That would've been more shocking. In the end though, it still doesn't mean crap about the movie, nor does it validate that the movie is a for sure thing. It doesn't mean they're closer to getting it done either. This was probably just a simple agreement that was in the original contract WB and HG agreed to, so, in essence, it's old @$$ news. If the movie doesn't even get a green light, or never makes it to any sort of production, don't expect the game to come out anytime soon. The game is in the same thin thread as the actual movie. I don't think Gubaba's ever been to a successful "Robotech Party". Then again, they don't really exist anymore. Those were way back when Razorx, his wife Valkyrie22, and I would throw them at our houses in the day. Since then, they've been very hard to come by. On a sidenote, it's funny seeing people that once followed lil' douchebendo's people turning on his show. I've had 5 people I know that use to listen to his show throw him under the bus, and a one even has sent me his conversations via IM. Apparently, more people had listened all that time to get a laugh from him, more than get verifiable true content. I think he also tried to hit on said guy before he totally wrote him off. Good stuff. Anyways, nothing wrong with figuring out someones a 5150 (person w/ mental illness) and realizes that their message isn't for them.
  22. I'll be checking the site tonight, and (I'm guessing) should have just about all the songs. Now, for a good number of songs, I have with the singer and w/o. Do you want both, only one type, and which songs do you want me to pull from? All series, or just specific ones? It'll determine how many CDs I need to go through.
  23. Preordered already. This thing looks good.
  24. Pure awesome!!! This is gonna be a fun show. And with all the Macross fans there to share it with. Good times.
