And...sometimes they are completely thrown out. They started with Kasdan, probably paid him at least a million to write 3 drafts, decided it was all crap, then got who, the writers from Smallville, and paid them a ton of money. They probably did their 3 drafts, and they decided that it wasn't that great either. Then somewhere down the line, they probably got sick of paying out the @$$ for big(ger) names that don't care much about the property, and hired a nobody, and maybe they found that his was workable. You gotta figure that WB is already a couple million in the hole with this dead weight, and with no one jumping the reigns of producer, maybe they're about to, if they haven't already, cut the line. Then again, I could be wrong and the project is moving along smoothly (yeah, right)

I normally don't do this, but geez, for all the biching and moaning, GET OVER IT! If it's out of your price range, what is crying about it really gonna do? Seriously...do you think it's gonna make Yamato change their mind about how much the charge for it? Is it gonna affect the yen? This is a product that is primarily sold to JAPANESE residents. That means, who cares to them that the yen is too strong right now in relation to the dollar, and it doesn't matter that many here in the U.S. think it's too expensive. The petty snide remarks are grating after awhile, but not to them, to your fellow MW members and so-called friends. Let it go. If you can't afford it, move on in life and quit complaining.

That size comparison Exo put up to the size pic Maiden Japan put up, the Yamato Milia fig is the one that looks more out of scale than anything.
-
As for the Zentraedi to Valk scale, didn't someone have a pic around here that had a size comparison of all of the Valks with Zentraedi? If so, someone care to put that up? I think the Zentraedi soldiers are supporsed to be smaller than the Valks.

That puts me half way there, just need this kit.

Thank you,,,hopefully some understanding to the multiple responses we've gotten. And thanks for putting this topic back on the rails. I bought that ADV set, just to preserve my Animeigo set. The only problem I have with the Animeigo set is the thin DVDs they used. There were reports of cracking in the inner spindle part of the discs.

Great to hear this isn't a dead project (although, it seemed so close to done, don't know how it would have been). I'm still in for 2 or 3 depending on price. Thanks for the update.

QFT!!! On the idea that this drama is a big show of hypocrity, I disagree on that. I think many times people have said that if fact checking and just a little research were done on Wnzerfan's post, the idea of getting after him would disappear. That was met with more misrepresented factual posts. It doesn't seem like people are being unwilling to tolerate him, but people open themselves up to certain remarks when they ignore the suggestions of the general consensus. I'll leave it at that, as I've read most of this, but am more of an outside observer until recently.

I thought about trying this on one of the unassembled, but I'm gonna tackle that when I actually open the package. I've restocked on all the supplies I have, so once I'm done with the 1/60 Thunder Hammer, I'll be working on a 1/60 Minmay Guard, or I'll try to customize it into the Platypus, in which has that dessert tan color. There's also Fusion Paint, that supposedly welds, maybe even partially dyes the plastic. Either way, I will be looking into dyeing plastics, and see what the positives and negatives are, if any.

While Southern Cross and MOSPEADA weren't the biggest hits of their time, why would anyone want to incorporate all that, along with new Macross stuff, into one big mess with no story structure, no sense of main character, and worst off, give it HG, whom already cannot write a decent story to save their lives. To do all that, just for the sake of joining them with no reason (like it'd ever happen anyways) is just a silly idea. Why would you take a superior product like Macross, and then mix it with new, inferior writing styles and product like RTSC, let alone MOSPEADA and Southern Cross. RTSC already messed up MOSPEADA quite a bit with a half assed version of the last 2 episodes, and a weak continuation where the Invid were replaced with a hack job, cut and paste enemy. I can understand people liking both Macross and Robotech, as I do, but I'm not even gonna think about destroying one franchises body (Macross) to save another franchises face (Robotech). They shared original Macross, but after that, there's no connection to the two, and there shouldn't be. Liking both doesn't equal "they have to be joined in one sloppy mess". It'd probably spell the end of both franchises cause it'd suck to no end.

Simply awesome. I ordered several sheets of it. I heard about it, but didn't know HLJ carried it. Thanks for the link. Just got in my decal paper today as well, so I'll be working up some decals for the custom paint job. You guys are awesome.

I don't think anything of mine is broken. Then again, I got mine completely unbuilt for painting purposes and all. Started gap filling and sanding the chest piece and have the primer curing already. Same for the waist area. I'd do a step by step, but until I get more accustomed to the new process I'm using to do this, I'm gonna be doing a lot of trial and error perhaps. Will be cutting my squares out for the digital camo today (the time consuming part) Also got a weathering kit, as I want this to look like it's gotten some work done, either on the test course, or in combat. Chest missile bay holders are done though. Will seal those up hopefully today.

Either way, I've stayed out of the comments regarding his/it's misrepresentation of facts, but there's only so much one can take before it starts grating on you like nails to a chalkboard.
-
What made you jump to that conclusion? As I have been on the sidelines helping with this thing (non oficially), I do know that that wasn't even close to the case for him. So, saying that, what would make you come with some strange logic as that? Maybe someone should inform you that when you post stuff on the internet, if you're gonna post something as fact, make sure that you actually know that it's fact, and not your opinion. Seriously, your comment shoulda just had a WTF reply.

Official MacrossWorld Convention 2010 Information Thread
Jasonc replied to KiriK's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Exo did the SD Valks. I'm gonna try to get a pachinko game to bring for this con. If it's doable, it'll be there, but it's a longshot. Hahaha. -
Hahaha, good times. I've been kinda at a loss to understand what all this discussion has been about over the last week. RT fringe feels the need to rejoice that a Japanese girl actually likes Robotech, and the rest of us are more like "WTF???" Is the goal of Yui to make Row boat tech and Macross into one canon show? I keep reading different things, and everytime I read a post of hers, I get a different meaning of what the purpose is. I know some here will say that that's just how it is, but for those that have been conversing in Japanese, do you have a further understanding? On other news, http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2010-09-10/rt25-celebration-reunion-of-robotech-talent While many here aren't RT fans at all, this is actually something to take note of. What's even more fantastic about it, is that HG didn't plan this at all. How sad is that, that the company that put this thing out can't even put a decent gathering and event together. I'm going to this.

Why does your avatar make me wanna work out? LOL
-
I'm hoping to get one. Taking sack lunches is helping. Hahaha.
-
Got my kit today. I'll check the hip parts tomorrow and see if mine are OK or Broken. I'll also be going to the model store and getting the paints to begin work. So, should I do a wood camo, or try the digital camo color?
-
If price is right, I may be good for 2 complete sets, and an extra 2 of the side covers, if that's possible.
-
Cool, thanks for the info. That's a good size.
-
The Matchbox set did come with a VHS tape of two episodes of Robotech that were basically spliced footage of the series. Luckily, the copy I had was put in a big tupperware storage box for years and years, and when opened, still looked pretty good. A good friend of mine did a quick color restore of it, and put it on DVD. It's quite funny, and is like 2 lost episodes.
-
Will you be recasting those? If they aren't too expensive, I'll take two sets
-
still waiting on mine. I'll be painting mine up a camo version. Either digital camo, or standard wood camo. Can't decide yet.
-
Is this the set that came with the figs if you ordered all sets of them? Looks awesome. Nice work.
