Sorry guys it took so long to put up the pic. I had to find the pic I downloaded long ago, and then, had issues with my scanner clipping the page. Nevertheless, here you go.

From the backside, it actually doesn't look too bad. I may not like Tommy's character designs for anything, but the mecha designs aren't that bad. I did wonder though, why he'd draw all these designs, if only to use rehashes and the most basic, blocky looking ships later on. It's like they started with better stuff, and worked downwards. The ship doesn't look as much like it did in the movie. As stated above, I think they took a slightly better design, and decided to strip and dumb it down.

Give me sometime and I'll go through my books, notebooks, and magazines, and see if I can find the transformed Ark Angel. It's not a big pic at all, but it is out there.

Whatever happened to the Britai Viny 1/60 figure? They should at least maybe go that route in the meantime between the slow-down. I started work on my own super custom 1/60 that hasn't been done yet, so I'm glad they at least did the unassembled versions. There's still the Angel Bird and VF-X (Christmas gifts). I hope the Regults sell well enough that equate to making a toy version, even if dumned down. Graham, since you are in contact with Yamato, how about a VFX Ravens VF-19? That was my favorite colored 19 model. Still don't know why the "Nut Cracker" or "Double Nut" (WTF) and the "Bird of Prey" were done before that. MILK THOSE MOLDS, BABY!!!

Nice cel you got there. My wife and I are saving up for AX this year, so depending on what cels they have, we'll be getting a few more. I want to get some of M:Plus, but it's all about selection. I'll also be looking for some more of Orguss, and the ever elusive Gunbuster cels. Heck, I'd even like to get a good one of Miriya (not the crappy drawn versions).

On the contrary, I do. It's a pic of the ship, and a pic of it transformed in a 3/4 view. Almost the same as the Gamma fighter picture. He never shows a frontal pic, but it is shown transformed. There's also some of a hoover cyclone, and Tommy's version of Showgirls in Space, AKA, JANICE and Ariola. Seeing those pics is why I laughed at Tommy's excuse for why all the girls were in skimpy clothes with big boobs. The studios were just making those characters off of his designs that he signed off on. Anyways... On the issue of new news for Robotech, really? I mean, REALLY? Fanboys will probably say that all is moving, but even if that were the case (which really isn't), perception is everything, and if you're name isn't out there, you're product is dead. Supposedly, the new work for the old animation is still being worked on, as well as Carl's documentary, but there's nothing new that's been announced since they first announced the "new animated series". Fans seem to be doing some stuff though, and the ones that are actually doing something very cool, I'm fortunate to be working with. Hopefully the end result will be worth the time involved.

They look great, if only they had them for the 1/60, I'd be able to use them on the unassembled kit. They look great.
-
With all the 1/60s I've had, I haven't had an issue yet, and I transform them often (not all of them, but some of the older ones). I did loosen the shoulders and the hinge that rotates the arms during transformation. This is probably a key to prevent the catastrophe. I think on my 1J Hikaru, I may need one soon, but there still isn't any cracks.
-
Maybe in my glancing, I missed where to get these, but is there a site to download them? I'd love to put one of these together for the 1/60 scale.
-
I love the Sheryl figs and will buy them all, but man, they're getting to be a little hard to catch up with. I'm also a bit bummed out about the no Grace, and no Kathy, heck, even Nanase. And, if they're gonna make anymore large size Klan figures, they should make one posable, playable, and in 1/60 to fit with the Valks, with armor attachments included. Yeah, I know, I'm just dreaming.
-
It would've gotten 2, one from me as well. I do find it ironic that the one with the least votes is the one that's getting done. However, maybe in Japan, the numbers are different. I know we don't matter as much, but just sayin'. I would rather see a VF-2SS or a VF-4 over the other choices in a heartbeat.
-
I should probably clarify, I'm not wanting an MP3 player inside the valk. but making the speakers able to have some sort of MP3 player or ipod connection that'd let you play those through it would be cool. I don't wanna spend too much money on it, but all that extra stuff cost. Oh well. Worst case scenario, we still get the Valk. No complaints.
-
What can you say, not everyone has good tastes in toys. If they do make a working speaker set, I think it'd be cool to have just to display and act as a little sound system. I'd be interested in that, and if it did come with a Syvil figure, I'd be all in.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Still have a lot of touch up to do on it, and still waiting on hlj to ship the other BJ-05 joint set for the other arm. If I get lucky and get another one of these later on, I'm definitely gonna do the purplish or maybe that tan color. I think the colors I used were a good match. I was a bit scared of the green, cause without any background color after primering, it looked too grey. I'll definitely remember these colors.
-
I'd put up some of a step-by-step, but I'm almost done with mine. Exo maybe more suited for it in regards to the styrene or rubber hose fix for the joints. Here it is so far. Still need some work on him, as well as one part for the other hand.

They had designs of the Ark Angel transformed. I have a pic of that too. It was pretty decent. IMO, anything that could've made RTSC more original and different was trashed out for space hookers and someone else's designs as standby. If asked, I'm sure HG has some lousy excuse as to why they didn't use any new fighters and all, but what I posted earlier is Tommy's real reason.

Just played the game today, and I'm really happy with it. It's a great game to play, and the support character specials are awesome. I love when Sheryl and Ranka sing their songs..."Dynamique" hahaha. Lots of fun.

I thought originally they were going to make an attempt to phase out the Mospeada designs and attempt a new "verytek". Commentary aside on the design of the Gamma fighter, it would've been a great attempt at a soft transition...i.e. getting rid of the past show stuff, and bringing in new stuff. I think George Sohn at Toynami would've been happy to see something different and maybe could've worked with it. Also, from what I remember hearing, Tommy didn't want to "desing". Instead, he wanted to direct and the Gamma fighter was nixed. Well, that shot came and went, and here we are, Robotech and Macross fans alike, bashing the hell out of Shadow Chronicles. If Frank Agrama had any smarts, he'd at most make Tommy a creaive art director, and not creative director overall. Wait, what am I saying. All of Robotech would still be big busty women in club outfits. His mecha art isn't too bad, and he is a pretty good artist. If he worked under an overall creative director who actually cared about this stuff, he maybe able to turn out some decent stuff.

I think most of the consumers here in the U.S. are used to dubs. If dubs were to disappear tomorrow, anime DVDs would probably disappear here as well, or at least be very scarce. The dubs help keep people buying the DVDs more than just being an added feature. Whether the dubs are good or not is strictly opinion, although on some dubs, the general opinions agree on the poor job, i.e. ADV Macross. I don't have a problem with dubs, and I'm not one who needs to get closer to my anime by watching it all in Japanese. If it's good enough dubbed, that's how I'll watch it. I don't think dubs, in general, are bad. I think the larger companies like ADV and Funimation kinda got into the "let's use this actor again for this role" and kinda cookie cutter them, but for the most part, I don't watch a lot of disaster dubs, and I do watch a lot of anime.

I believe that came from the Gold Book, and if I remember correctly, does come folded. It could be that whoever owns that poster made a pricey copy of it with no folds. It's an awesome poster. I have 2.
-
I'm in the same boat as most here. The ADV dub was one of the worst things to ever come out. Misa sounded like a cracked out teen, Roy like a gay trucker, Hikaru like Vic Mignona (what else do you expect), and I had a hard time understanding Minmay. I bought the set at a super discount, and got it only to preserve my copies of my Animeigo DVDs. I don't even bother with the english version of it. And, I'm one who likes a good dub. They should've kept the Robotech VAs. They did a great job on it.

There's not much to painting this guy (unless you do the ultra realistic look. Being that it's meant to be moved around and all, I'm keeping pretty simple. For the chest, I just need to touch up what I missed from masking with the black chestplate w/ Zentraedi insignia. I'll probably also do another coat over the backpack section. For the white belt and strap pieces, I'm using what's called light camoflauge gry. It's basically a white with a little gry and tan in it. It works well with the green I've selected, which isn't as dark as the original green. For the joints, upper arms, thighs and feet, I'm using panzer gry, which is kinda drk, but stands out just right. I've also done the rifle in a gry primer, then gunmetal metalizer. What's taking more time, is prepping the materials to make the figure sturdy. The drilling, sanding, all that is some time, but not too bad. I found some metal rod that I have put inside the waist so that the figure can actually bend forward from the crotch area. So far, I'm still waiting on another BK-05 set for another socke for the other arm, also more for the arm/leg sockets. At this rate, he'll easily be done by next week, pending no major disasters. Will get pics tomorrow, as I can't find the chord to load them.
-
At first, I was a little nervous to see if it would work. drilling inside the arm part was done with a drill slight smaller than the socket, and the rest was using an exacto to widen and sandpaper to smooth. It made the socket a bit squished in the area of the hands, so I sanded down those hands so that they'd fit. The end result is a solid hand that won't pop off. I've done the second arm, but need another set of the BJ-05, so I have those on order. Just painted the body with a german military green, and it's got a nice drab, "zentraedi" feel to it. Not sure if I wanna go more vibrant green, but we'll see.

Damn, the one poster I'm missing. I should be looking for it. It does look nice in a frame.

OK, so I know this thread is a little old, but I've started to paint my figure and should have him done in about 1-2 weeks. Primer is now dry, so time to get the airbrush out again. I've worked with Exo and he helped me to get all the joints nice and tight on this guy. He should be pretty sturdy and better than an action figure. For the hands, I bored out the little plug, and inserted one of the sockets from the BJ-05 set in there, the result is a hand that has some posability, and won't fall off. Took some time, but it looks great. Pics will come up later in another thread.
