  1. Yes, I had to tell the truth, especially since Memo went on a tirade to say I got it from Tom. Truth be told, if I did get it from Tom, it would've never seen the light of day here. It just doesn't make any sense for me to do that. And at this stage of the game, I can really careless about being a hero, or villain to those guys. It's a freakin' image, nothing more or less. I find the whole frantic runaround on rtx.com to be pretty damn funny, in a strange sick sense. If you read on that particular thread there, even rtsurfer mentions the tendency Memo has to leak out information. But yeah, I agree, it would've been nice if the discussion could've just stayed on the subject and not someone making up more conspiracies on some big plot to bring down Robotech. Poor, tortured souls...they inflict their own injuries on themselves.
  2. Rewatching Tenchi Muyo: GXP. This series is just so damn funny, always puts me in a good mood, no matter how crappy of a day I have. I've got about 20 titles I haven't started watching yet, so I should get into those afterward.
  3. Well, if I get a C&D from HG, they'll probably go out to that person as well. If they wanted the image down, I think they would've contacted me to take them down. The fact that it's been awhile already, they're probably glad that I'm indirectly promoting interest in new Robotech mecha. Didn't really think of that till now, but oh well. My opinion is stil that it's good stuff.
  4. Damn, I thought there was new pics, or new info. But, maybe the G-Man can fill us in on the status of this. With a decent price and the product materials it's made out of, it should be an easy, and within budget purchase for many. Who doesn't want a Britai beating on Hikaru's 1J, or some type of figure they can do like that?
  5. You should let the leaks occur, let them come from everywhere, I'm sure no matter where they come from, even if from Memo through Tommy, it'll somehow be Tom Bateman's fault. Miami does sound like a fun place to have a party though, sun, bikinis, and Valkyries galore. We could have a Valk girl competition.
  6. For resin kits, I usually wash them in Simple Green. It's great for sucking the oils and release agent off of recasts, and my highly recommended product to first use. I put that in, with some cold water, and use a soft toothbrush to scrub. Then rinse thoroughly with cold water (cold to avoid any chance of resin warp).
  7. Agreed. It's not hard to figure out what a standard toy is vs. a custom. If you work on the toy to alter it, it's a custom, same thing if you paint it. Now, Yamato has Toy kits, like a hybrid. Have those been settled on where they go? Toys or Model kits, and if you finish one and want to show it off, where do you put it, in custom or model or toy section?
  8. My wife is paying for my 1/60 VF-1 Angel Birds and the VF-X. Other wishlist items for Christmas are really just good health, and happy times. I've been blessed with a lot of things, so I really don't have any needs other than just those. Plus, the two Valks will be fun to take out and display.
  9. I started work on the cockpit leg attachment, and using styrene to form a base to make the big sensor nose. One thing I noticed is that the kit that the original custom was done on, the nose shape is different, and is actually removed and fitted with a different one when transformed. The idea here that I'm trying to do is to avoid having to swap parts, and do all of that. I still wanna keep the "perfect transformation" aspect of it. To do that, the sides of the nose sensor that are back under the cockpit need to be modified, and the angles of the sensor need to be adjusted in order to add the leg attachment. I'm still working to see if I can make it more close to the original, but there may have to be some trade off.
  10. I'll take you up on that beer, and yeah, after thinking about why such a non-important image has been made into a big deal by some RT fans, is this really the only "big news"??? But, there is a more logical reason why someone is already pointing fingers and trying to focus all this on Tom, a guy who I respect, and someone I wouldn't put under the bus. It's because these images came from Memo, quite a number of years ago, when everyone used to trust one another. I never planned to say who this came from, because although I don't get along with him, there was no need to say who it came from. However, the stupid, childish fingerpointing was just getting too ridiculous, so while some of you probably already figured out where it came from, there it is for you guys to see. Maybe the finger pointing was because he thought I was going to do this, and he wanted to divert the attention away from himself, maybe he was just looking for another reason to villify someone who had nothing to do with it, and thinks is an easy target. Whatever the case is, I explained this to a few people, with other facts, and wether people wanna believe it or not, that's up to them. I'm just not gonna let someone just assume how things are and accuse someone without checking facts, or without regard to the truth, wether remembered or not. Still, it shouldn't be a big deal. I mean, really. But you guys are right...to RT fans, maybe the images are a big deal because they have nothing going on. I'm not gonna spend anymore time with the drama of it, cause it's just not worth the time. I think the artwork is good, in most ways, so I put these up with no malice intent at all, and it shouldn't be. A lot of Tommy's artwork I'd defend as being good artwork, some of it I've seen has been awesome. The couple I put up are pretty good. So, they'll probably start wondering why I put them up here...well, when rtx.com was first in its infancy stage, I asked to be removed from the site. I already knew it was just gonna be an extension of Robotech.com, and I just didn't want to have anything to do with stuff like this. Since I chose not to conform to the stupidity of rt.com, I ended up asking to be perma banned over there. Thirdly, all overly involved RT fans do come to this thread specifically anyways, so this is probably one of the more viable threads to put it up on. So far, I'm still debating if I should put up the other images of the hoover cyclone. I know many will just say "put them up." But doing it now would just seem to be out of spite for the drama that's unfolding in another site. I guess if people wanna see it, you can send me a pm, and I'll send it to you. At least people who actually care about it will have it. Sound fair?
  11. Hahaha, yeah, what the hell was wiki leaks in regards to me putting up a picture? I mean honestly, who really gives a $h!t about the pic? They're more concerned with tryig to develop a conspiracy about it. Out of decency, I've been avoiding spreading it out who actually gave it to me, and I'm sure the person has since forgot they did, but if this starts to get out of hand, I might have to put it to rest and just let it out. I don't have any loyalty to the one who gave these to me. LOL, This all has been a big joke,,, but with today off, I did find the additional pics and will put them up later tonight or tomorrow morning.
  12. Not that anyone cares too much about this, but me putting up that pic has raised a big discussion here... http://www.robotechx.com/forums/5-robotech-shadow-chronicles/13993-official-artwork-of-ark-angel-by-tommy.html?limit=10&start=20#14051 I thought it was kinda interesting, cause they're already pointing fingers at Tom, at least some are. Had Tom given these to me, I wouldn't have put them up anywhere, not that it really matters anymore, but I've already received a message from one of their board members who asked me about the story behind the picture, mainly, how I got it and who gave it to me. From what it seems, he was pretty shocked to find out who it was. All this just for showing an old, unimportant piece of concept art. BTW, I'm looking for the other pics, but can't seem to find them. I've got several other piles of paper to look through, so if I find the other artwork Tommy's fan friend gave me, I'll post those up as well....*Waves to Tommy's friend.
  13. I pick the YF-21/VF-22. Even thought the BDI wasn't that successful, the technology put into that Valkyrie from the OVA is innovative, and different to anything done before, and afterward. That's not to say that the design is simply badass.
  14. LMAO,,, "love stick"... Is that what they call it in Macross? That should be a working title for a Macross episode.
  15. I've got someone who I sent these pics to, to see if this could be done, and they looked at it, and thought the craftwork on it wasn't that great (mostly the zipper). I'm getting one done for $40, and should look just as good, if not better. I told her, she should go into business and sell them here (jokingly). It'll take some time though, as she is busy doing some doll clothes for several clients. Oh well, I can definitely wait.
  16. In watching Macross Zero, it had some very interesting theories that are actually based on theories in the real world. If anyone watches History Channel, on Thursday night at 9, they have a show called "Ancient Aliens", which explores the ideas and theories that Aliens came to our planet long ago, and did many things, like help develop some technology, help, build cities, and perhaps even create humans as we are now by genetic manipulation, and reintegrating those changed back into the world. The theories are interesting, and some of the evidence is quite convincing with other possible theories, but overall, watching this series reminds me of Macross Zero and the part of DYRL when Hikaru and Misa land on the city risen out of the sea (another theory that those same extra terrestrials that helped develop our genetic structure from neandrathals to our current form still observe us and reside under the sea). I find that stuff quite interesting.
  17. I'm not worried about what they'll say or what they think, but believe it or not, I'm trying to be respectful of those guys to the extent that I've let a couple of them get away with blatant lies because I don't want to have them to, for what would be an obvious reason, get cut off from what they love. But my patience does have a limit, and it seems that a couple of them have forgotten past events.
  18. I heard that he didn't even graduate from that art school. I know it's not a place to judge someone's art, but that's what I heard. Haven't really tried or cared to verify that. And like I've said before, I don't think Tommy is a bad artist, just not a great character artist, and a very bad story writer. I noticed on robotechx . com, they are having a discussion of where I got the pic from, and since I don't visit that site all that often, let me tell you guys, along with those over there who are coming over here to read, No, I didn't get that art from Tom. Tom did fill me in to a point on some stuff regarding Robotech, and got to see some cool stuff I would never have been able to see otherwise, but Tommy's artwork was something that just wasn't around. I do find it funny that Tommy's best friend is already pointing the finger, and it wasn't even a big deal. Somehow I feel the civility of this unimportant issue is going to go out the window, not of my doing.
  19. I wouldn't go that far...some people with that much money to spend will probably fork over the money. However, I've got some friends that are really good at sewing, and as this is a small production web exclusive, they're still probably made without the care and concern that a friend or good sewer would take if doing just one. Not to mention the fact that the zipper really is huge. Gonna have to go through my large G.I. Joe figs and see what I can come up with.
  20. Yep, stupid web exclusives. If there is a group buy started, I may jump in on it, but I'm not paying some outrageous 3rd party fees and shipping for something you technically can easily pay someone here $50 to make, and not have to worry about the other prices.
  21. Today, I had a lot of errands to run, so I didn't get a chance to really do too much. If you look at the first pics, you'll notice that when rotating the front part of the nose to the left (or right), the upper portion sticks out too far on one side. While it's balanced linear in the rear, I decided to take a test piece second nose, and sand it down to round it off. This will take some of the uneven nose out of it. If successful with the test piece, I'll duplicate on the master piece (get it, masterpiece ) and go from there. I also sanded down the leg connector bulges on the leg connector piece and the cover for the leg hinge. I'll need to putty some of that up and make it look nice and purdy. Reason for this is to simply make the nose easier to build. I'm thinking of using the second leg connector nose piece from another unassembled Valkyrie for this project. Risky, yes, but it's probably the best way to get the legs to connect on the side I want them to. Lots of sanding now, so I'll put up some pics tomorrow.
  22. All I know is that all of my friends who have a PS3 are playing it, so I'll probably follow suit so we can do damage online.
  23. It's going to be (hopefully) the VEA-1 "Platypus" http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazines/mg-oct2002-page-23.jpg I probably should've mentioned that the head comes from a 1/35 scale Patlabor kit with 3 different head attachments for the kit. I simply used the head that looks most like the piece I need, and will be doing a lot of modding and resculpting to get it where it needs to be. Today was a busy day trying to work out the details of leg connector piece, and attaching it to the side of the nose. I know how to do it, but it's gonna take a loooooot of work.
  24. Looks nice, but not 1/60. I have one on order.
  25. Nice work!!! If I still had the 1/55 bug, I'd totally give this a try. Congrats on a job well done.
