  1. Probably just means they're butt-hurt little angry tools. I'm sure they don't appreciate their own words and facts being thrust upon them, especially when they are wrong, or have no real comeback. It's probably also a way of making them feel like they're "in-charge" or superior by having someone apologize, and gives them a (false) sense of being in the right. I know it's been talked about before, but how many staff members of companies and franchises take this crap so personally, and get so wrapped up into criticism, that they start to go down the unprofessional path?
  2. I happen to like the original voices. It made it more nostalgic. Great job. Where's part 2?
  3. Finally took advantage of the sale. Just getting a 1/60 mass prod. VF-1A. If hey had the VE-1, I'd be all over that. Wish I could find one more of those.
  4. Dude, you are building a great resume there, for the next Marketing Coordinator position. Your verbage is pretty spot on. For a long time, even before me leaving the rt.com wagon, I stopped caring caring what the outcome of all this crap came to. Basically, you have a group within the fandom, that feel they know everything there is to know about how the "business" of Hollywood works, just because they believe they have a tangible position, or some notary. Then you have a wannabe marketing coordinator, who, for all intent and purposes, knows absolutely nothing about the job he's doing. That's why they're stuck only doing conventions. I wonder if they've heard of "preaching to the choir"? That's basically all the convention tour does, save for a handful of newcomers here and there. Then, said marketing coordinator comes off like a frantic moron when confronted with a growing amount of questions, and proof of discrepancies from his quotes. If they choose to drive away fans, that's not my concern. It shouldn't really be any rational person's thinking as well. Doesn't seem like anybody with real and valid concerns are welcome, and they're not gonna listen to anyone, no matter how right or wrong the idea and rationale is. My time spent commenting on this stuff is to simply call it out, and to have fun at their expense, and it seems they have deep pockets when it comes to idiotic comments and actions. It makes this all good and fun.
  5. I remember watching that take on it. I laughed so hard, it was like a trip to the gym. The cartoon was alright. I remember the song, and that T-bop or whatever the scooter robot's name was. I only had a few of the toys. I'd like to see on DVD Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. Those were some badass toys.
  6. NM, I was gonna ask what this is, but now that I know, it's pretty interesting. That seems like a lot of work if you're gonna make a hard version. Good luck to you, and look forward to seeing the finished project.
  7. Sounds like people bitching and moaning about valid stuff, then some mods doing the same old suck job to the staff, then more bitching and moaning about fans bitching and moaning, then more bitching and moaning about people bitching and moaning about past posts where the HG staff starts bitching and moaning. The whole site is one hot mess of people looking to validate their love for Robotech by acting like a twit w/ mad cow. For the original poster, I understand his concerns, I do. Usually the people who take issue with things are the ones who actually care about how a series is being ran and going. It's ashamed that only the people who are looking for a job are on the HG is great emo bandwagon.
  8. I've been doing little tidbits of parts here and there. Several days ago, I put the parts on, that are visible in fighter mode on each side to the rear of the cockpit, on what is the chest plate and back. I also created the 1D shield by scribing in the mid line on the shield, and will now be attaching the leg tanks to the legs. Probably sometime this weekend. Project is stll moving along.
  9. It's not like it's a big secret, or anything like that. There isn't even really big details of it involved. To me, it just reinforced the fact that HG has a bit of a complex, but it's stuff that most of us have either experienced, or already know. In regards to the Cary Fukunaga debate, I was trying to figure out if that even qualifies as news? Robotech fans must be hurting for something. For all we know, he may have absolutely nothing to do with Robotech at all, in which case, they still have no clue what to do about a director. If he was referring to Robotech, and just misspelled it, then that still is a bad sign for the LAM, as it shows that not even big name directors want to work with it. I think if that's the case, the saying goes, "you can't make Chanel out of $hit". But I guess for those that supposedly "know Hollywood", they never taught them that at the Knowing Hollywood School.
  10. I wish Tom would come in and tell the story. It's an interesting story, and I don't wanna tell it wrong, but I don't blame BW for turning it down.
  11. I too, am liking the Assassin's Creed figure, and the Solid Snake figs, but I can only afford so many hobbies. I may pick one or two up but that's it.
  12. Totally agreed. I upgraded my computer mic from one of those headset mics, to a pretty high-end standard mic. It makes all the difference in the world. Not to mention the fact that when our band has played, the fidelity of it, stands out more so, than the inexpensive Radio Shack type ones. As for the mixing software, I'm not too sure what is good these days, especially for Voice Over work, but during recording of my previous bands, we used Q bass, and Liquid Audio. Those were what the studios used that we would record in. Hikuro, I don't know if you absolutely need Photoshop CS5, but I can get you CS2 with registration. If you can use it, let me know.
  13. There's no real point in paying attention to people like that. It's not even constructive, so their opinion is worth absolutely zero. As far as redoing DYRL, if you do, are you going to make a DVD version of it? Also, if you need any voices, when you put out the need, put em up here. I've got more time on my hands as well.
  14. Definitely sad news, and another reminder of the reality of this disaster. Heart and prayers to the surviving family.
  15. This could be a reference to Transformer like movies. Robo (robot) tech (tech, sci-fi) type movies at the time of the interview. If indeed, he is referring to Robotech, then how is it that he can only talk, but chickens out? The interview also mentions that he wants to do stuff he likes, and stuff that's going to make him happy if he's going to invest years into. If he was approached to possibly do Robotech, then I'd say that's holding true to his quotes on the interview. I think what's funny, is the assumption that Robotech is going to be this big time movie that's automatically going to give any director high credibility, and put them all the way to A+ directors. For all we know, and since speculation seems to be going one way in the fandom, perhaps the director saw the project, and saw a big pile of crap. Why invest time, and put your name on a "big movie" (if it is...) and associate your name to it if it's crap? I'm just sayin'... some people just don't think too far ahead of the game.
  16. If that's indeed true, it's just them, trying to validate the franchise as something more desirable than it really is. While there's almost always similarities in various sci-fi series, movies, anime, etc., I usually hear some fans take things from any sci-fi series and say that they directly copied Robotech, even when there's 5 other series that resemble the series in question closer. Again, it seems more like a hollow cry to validate Robotech's importance in a world that seems to not really care about it. Things change, but at this moment in time, that's where things are at.
  17. If you were at the damn AOD in SF, why would you need to get reports? Smells like spin and hype to me, but, whatever. Then in regards to what you posted about Richard Epcar's comment I think anyone, people who love Robotech to "haters" (funny saying that...anybody want some haterade???) is wondering the same thing. Let's deflate this even further. If there were 20, I'm willing to bet that at least 1/3 of them are "industry" people, and have free passes. I've always wondered why Tommy would keep around, someone who is really only making them take steps backward. Yes, I'll give credit to Kevin for pushing the convention tour, but how often and how long has that been somewhat ineffective? They spend all this time, and go to all these conventions, and it's nothing new. Aside from that work, can anyone really think of anything positively memorable that he's done? I don't ever recall anything more than acting like a "fanboy troll", what he likes to call people who have questions about their discrepancies.
  18. Man, do you really wanna do all that to get hired for like $13/hr??? I'd rather see and hear about these unprofessional, and royal screw ups, than even try to act like I care. Tommy maybe severely skill challenged as a writer, or creative director, but he's probably smart enough to know not to hire sub minions to do what they do for free anyways. Besides, from what I am guessing, as Robotech continues in a stagnant state, and the economy shrank, I'm sure HG isn't looking to hire anyone, not that it'd be Tommy's choice anyways.
  19. Kinda like Cancer sticks. It shoots cigarettes. I hope it comes with Fast packs, but knowing Bandai's inability to bundle the accessories until the product has been milked a few times, I'm not counting on it.
  20. While it's great to hear that friends and fellow members here in Japan are all reporting in safe, my heart, prayers, and thoughts are with those that have missing and lost family. I'll be donating for any relief efforts needed.
  21. Don't know if this article has been posted here yet, as I don't wanna go through pages of posts, but http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/features/arts/T110303006318.htm this is an overview and review article that I found interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing this.
  22. Is it just me, or do I find it funny that most of the people in HG staff, or mods always want proof of their stupidity? Instead, people should be asking them, "what proof do you have that you didn't say/do that?" Then follow it up by "If you're only proof is going to be your word, that's what's being questioned here." I've noticed that they just take off their muzzle, and just rant, bitch, yap, whatever, and it's supposed to be straight up truth. But when someone points out the inconsistencies, it's always "they're lying", "they're wrong", or "where's your proof to back up your claim". There were several people on rtx.com who were bringing up the subject of HG staff not being upfront, and lying about stuff before, and they were met with the same response of showing proof. The last 2 pages here are quite clear, and give just another example. Oh, and Chrisk, I totally agree, I laughed so hard at all this when it first came to my attention, I nearly had the water I was drinking get spit out.
  23. There is only one pic that I'm aware of that is in both the Tenjin artbook and the Valkyries 2nd Sortie. That said, it's only one page. The other pages are just simply amazing. There are a couple that I want to make as posters. Just got mine today, and it's VERY well worth picking up. I have 2 of the original Valkyries books, I may get a 2nd one of these down the line.
  24. We'll be going this year, as we preordered the tix for $40 for the 4 day passes. I don't think I'll be wearing the Hikaru uniform, but we'll definitely be there.
  25. If he's gonna go on another tirade, it usually is a clear sign that he's been put between a rock and a hard place. I mean, c'mon. Tommy has mentioned Shadow Rising being on hold a few times, and here comes the underling to disrupt what has been a well known fact. Then, to do it in an attempt to try to ridicule "fanboys" and people who may even enjoy the franchise, but have concerns, way to disrespect and ridicule fans, HG. And you wonder why you're only stuck doing convention tours. Oh, you guys should screen capture that drama.
