Sounds like a soccer player from either Spain or France. I bet he's gotta mean futbol kick.

The only reason why I wouldn't see them actually coming after you in a case like that, is the idea that even though they have their own legal team, their lawyers may require extra money in their paycheck for having to go to court. Having to pay for them to go to court, just to tell a fan that he can't do fanfic work may not be worth it. It's not like they'd actually be able to sue you for much, if anything more than a "you can't put that out". Even still, would they really want to have that put in any public notice? If I were in that same position, and I went to court, I'd be telling everyone, simply out of principal, and to let people know the pettiness of a larger company. Is all that work worth that for HG?

You may need to check your monitor's color settings. It's red/white. While I haven't seen the movie, I do hope they make a CF version as well, like a grey color or something. However, before I bite on getting more of these, I'm gonna thoroughly check the quality of this first one. -
In regards to the live action fan film, I thought about that as well, and if they allow other derivative fan works to go through, especially with the amount of foot traffic that know about it on their websites, wouldn't that provide an instance where people like the UEG would have a basis to fight HG? Seems like if they're going to pick and choose what fan works get to keep on going, they may lose the grounds to force someone else to cease their fan project. I could be totally wrong, but it does seem pretty odd that up till now, HG has been picking and choosing what fan works can keep going and not, at the behest of Tommy.

Congrats dude. From what people have been saying, sounds like you'll enjoy it very much.

I know, that they know about the interest in invid vinyl toys to compliment the MPCs, but I don't know if there's just a "by the book" method that says they have to do it in order of series or not, or if they're just concerned about sales. In any case, I'd like to make one that's somewhat functional, and one that's gonna look right, next to the 1/55, or 1/48, or whatever scale those things are, with my collection. -
If anyone wants a copy of this book, I maybe able to get them for about $45 (not including shipping from my location in L.A. to your location). If you are interested, send me a pm. I may only be able to do 3 or 4 at most.

Well, the toynami alphas are listed at 1/55, and the Aoshimas are listed at 1/48. I guess they'd be at whatever fits that scale, which seems like 1/55, I guess. It's still gonna be pretty damn small. -
Cool collection of DVDs and VHS stuff. I'll snap a pic of what I have. I have about 8 shelves full of DVDs and a few of VHS tapes. I've run out of space, so I just set it all on top. My Macross collection is pretty complete with all the stuff. My Frontier BD are only partly out, while the later ones are in a box in the closet. I also have a very beautiful tin case to hold the Macross DVDs, and it was made for people of MW a number of years ago. I got one for SDF Macross, and a Macross Plus version. I'll snap a few pics of those tomorrow.

A fellow MWer here told me of a place that still has stacks of these on crates. I may have to invest in a giant purchase. In other news, as I'm finishing up a custom project, I have been wanting to make 1/60 scale Inbit for awhile. I have lineart for all the basic Inbit, the Scouts and the Shock Trooper ones. I've been thinking of taking the lineart, and copying them to a 1/60 size, then making one that has some posability and has some ratcheted joints. It's in the early phase of planning, but I think it's totally doable. -
For awhile, I was doing that with Ikki Tousen, but that is just so expensive, I gave up. I can only afford a couple hobbies, so I gotta pick my battles. I think next purchase will be the black and white bunny sheryls. It helps that my wife has the same name, LOL

It really doesn't matter how much "logic" he'll try to put into his argument, it's not going to change the FACTS. How many times are we going to see some retarded attempt to legitimize some fanboy's delusion into thinking HG can just use all the original Macross designs in new productions? Either they're dumb@sses, or mentally challenged. HG new they couldn't do that with Sentenels back in 86, and from conversations with current and previous staff through the years, they've cut some verbage specific to Macross, and all the designs out because they couldn't use them without getting slapped with a fat lawsuit. It would be interesting to listen to that explanation, but crap under a pretty sugar coating is still crap. I can understand why they keep wanting to go this route in a way. The Macross franchise is the anchor to Robotech. If it was possible, these same people would have Macross Zero, Plus, and Frontier as part of the Robotech franchise, because it's got that much appeal. In a way, it's like "Franchise Envy", so they're going to try to take small, insignificant jabs at facts, so that it fits what they want to believe in their own little Robotech world. It's quite sad, but funny. Aside from a curiosity, this Explanation is nothing but a feeble attempt at legitimizing Robotech, but has no bearing on the facts that be. It's all been addressed before, and the documentation is out there. They just don't believe it until Tommy says so. Now, how funny is that?

Hahaha, exactly. I've got just about every Sheryl figure out there, except the blk bunny/wht bunny versions, but that is only a matter of time. This one seems harder to get, and in my opinion, is the most elaborate of them all. Not only that, the face sculpt seems dead on, and when I get my display room going I will have a display strictly of Sheryl put up.

With the first option, the difference between Robotech and Voltron is that Voltron has revamped and has been able to adapt to the times. Because of that, it has been able to reemerge as a fresh, viable series. Robotech's biggest problem, is that it rode the coattails of its short success for way longer than it should have. The best thing they could've done was keep the story going and phase out the old designs early, so that fans wouldn't be so attached to them, like they are now. Also, like Voltron, and with other series making comebacks, they could've done a redo of the entire series, and introduce new character designs, and new "veritech" designs, that would've given them a free realm to go in a more creative direction. Second option is probably the hope of Frank Agrama, but as it appears now, Robotech isn't the most viable property to do anything with. It seems like if any company is going to take over the franchise, I'm sure they're going to want to make something of it. There are so many loop holes to jump through with the licensing and IP issues, it maybe enough to not make this franchise worth as much as the yun brothers want to make it out to seem Option 3 would be a nightmare for HG. I'm sure they'd rather sell it, than not do anything with it. Even as a Robotech fan, I'd rather see the franchise get out of their hands, or just disappear, than have it constantly go down the road it is with an inept staff, and a small amount of fans who worsen the franchise even more. Better to remember it's goodness back when it started, than to have it fizzle out in despair. You do realize that Tommy and Steve are both brothers, right? Basically, the staff is Tommy Yun, and McKeever. Tommy and Steve probably count as one person, as Steve just does whatever Tommy says and does. Then again, McKeever is just a glorified receptionist. As for the HG higher ups, who knows. Maybe they don't care enough about the franchise to give it a real staff, and respect to stand on its own away from Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada. I think that's why HG is putting all their hope into WB making this LAM. If it does go through, Robotech's "viability" will go up, and hopefully the company that made the movie will pick it up. Afterall, how many companies out there actually have licenses to make Robotech product? As it stands, not many. It seems like they've let a lot of those licenses expire and may go to WB in hopes of them absorbing it all, including the issues of not being able to use the original Macross designs. I would hope that if that happened (WB buying the franchise), that they'd be willing to allow Macross to come over here, and if they did make more Robotech, that it'd be redone, so that it's an original series, not copied mecha and character designs.

Those are the only places I order from, but if there's another trustworthy place, that may be good as a backup. I'm really starting to like amiami, even though they are sold out of this toy, it's very possible that they'll restock. -
Hey guys, sorry for being out awhile, I've been pretty busy at work, and taking care of some other things, but I will begin work again on this project on tuesday, and will also put up pics of the stuff I've done up till now. Stay tuned.

I won the Kimono Sheryl. I'm so excited to have won it. I can't wait to get it. I hope to get that Klan statue soon, but it will have to be after I pay off this item. It was a lot of dough.

Wow, that's pretty f!@$ing ridiculous, but great for that seller. I may have to put mine on ebay if they really went for that much. -
It's probably right around the corner, being that there's a good amount of material to fill up a 3rd book. I'm waiting for the translator app for the iphone to be able to translate Japanese into English. At that point, I'll be able to understand what the specific dialogue is saying.

Is this the whole anchor point to why Paramount is "Quaking in their boots?" Pfffff, Hahahahaha. This is cutting edge stuff, man, so sharp, it'll cut you where you sit.

All this makes me think of this song called "The Moron Brothers"

Ahhhh, incoherent, under pressure internet ramblings. They usually seem to get worse when put on the spot, and maybe that's a way of unconsciously covering up the party fouls. Who the hell knows. It's a character trait that is not so uncommon. Some people just become incoherent when exposed. It's like not having a poker face. You just know when they should be putting up the white flag. I've always been curious to know why some poeple would rather look be proven a dumb@ss, than be proven wrong? It's not like everyone is right all the time, but once you make yourself out to be a moron, that's more of a character issue than just messing up facts. Like I've said, that's why it's fun to watch it unfold.
