  1. I'm almost willing to bet some of the nutjobs are thinking, "Quick, let's do another podcast on how this information isn't true! Hurry, let's convene on this argument." Again proven, there isn't anything to debate. Looks like the latest podcast of Robotech World was a complete waste of time, and is now on record as them being wrong, AGAIN. Good stuff.
  2. Yeah, I have to agree. I think for Prime, he's a truck, and trucks are meant to haul, yes, but also have shine when they are cleaned and waxed. Fighter jets, I don't see it working too much on those. There is some dimension of reality that people want in their toys, even if to only look like what they saw on t.v. I don't need them to be ultra realistic to where they compromise the playability, but, well, that's where I come with that.
  3. Since I've got a couple of them, maybe I should put one up for auction. If anyone wants it, it's yours for only $300? How's that for undercutting someone on ebay?
  4. I've been told this by Tommy Yun way back when. It's also been told before that by Carl Macek. Anybody watch the documentary on the Shadow Chronicles DVD? (thought you guys wouldn't have) Well, they cut out my friend and his wife's interview because they mentioned the name Macross, and because their children are named after two of its characters. Then, there was a fan cosplay that was shot with someone dressed as a Valkyrie, and that was cut because they didn't want to get sued for that as well. That's what HG legal team told the HG RT staff during that time. So, either these lunatic fringe fans are either stupid, or suffer from some serious delusions...either/or. QUOTED FOR THE F!@#ING TRUTH! LOL
  5. My wife has a BFA in Visual Communications/Graphic Design and is a senior designer/art director, and she can verify, it's definitely not pink. If you're comparing to the kite on top of the website, that's red, too, with some of the kite a little lighter and darker in various areas. Open up the image in photoshop and take samples of the red, and you'll see that most samples have both the magenta and yellow settings between 85-95%. In regards to the other variant colors of the 29, a grey, dark grey version would be well worth the money, as long as it's not as glossy as the plastic has been on previous Macross Valkyrie products by Bandai. Just kills the "cool" effect of the toy in my opinion, with it super shiny.
  6. I finally got out my Macross DVDs, and got a snap shot of the cases I have them in. Here they are.
  7. Their problems seemed to start way before the earthquake. Apparently, they just stopped updating the site, stopped communication with people, and burned Xstoys, as described above. I take word of mouth very seriously, especially from trustworthy sources, and this is one of those things I'm not gonna chance, especially when coming to my money.
  8. Yeah, that's what I thought. They are, once again, trying to lump in half-assed truths to fit their argument against what most her already know. For some reason, they feel they need to argue this point to try to prove people wrong in this, but I can see where they are trying to make this work. The thinking, "If HG can use Southern Cross and MOSPEADA, they can use Macross" seems like a very ignorant way to rationalize an argument. As the saying goes, "If common sense is so common, how come so few have it?" rings true once again. Thanks, Az for the Artmic and Tats info. Reinforces the idea of some people really needing to think before they open their flaps.
  9. I was just listening to a couple of whacked out RT fans talking about how HG can use the Macross designs because since it was all brought in with Southern Cross and MOSPEADA, it makes no sense to them that HG can use those designs, but not Macross. I heard that, and just about died laughing. Southern Cross and MOSPEADA weren't in the court cases that SDF Macross was in, so those would have no bearing on the Macross rulings. Furthermore, Southern Cross and MOSPEADA weren't from Big West, were they? Really, why try to rationalize and twist facts to make them work, when reality is proving a whole different thing? They don't even believe HG legal, when they stray away from using Macross desings. OK, that was my input for the day, carry on.
  10. It'd be scary if they are HK bootlegs. Oh, and I do have both. Both are very cool, and unique. The VF-X has the panel to hide the arms under, and is pretty cool to look at, but something about the 1/60 AB that just makes it really stand out. Probably one of the best put together VF-1s by Yamato so far.

    Lego DesignByMe

I downloaded that DesignByMe program, and unlocked all the parts, and started, so it's a file, no pics of an actual build. I'm probably going to need to take out my Yamato 1/100 to get an idea of certain mechanics. Unfortunately, this will probably end up being one of those projects for me that falls by the wayside, as I'm in the middle of working on two other projects at the moment.

    Lego DesignByMe

Wow, that's pretty strange and mysterious. Well, if you or anyone has those pics, please post them up here. I started on attempting to replicate the beast, and got as far as a foot, but had to leave to take care of other things. Getting it to transform would be awesome.
  13. I'm not too familiar with that site that has them up, but how much do they have the preorder for?

    Lego DesignByMe

I'd love to get a Konig Monster Lego set. It looks like a massive amount of work to get that done. Does anyone know the guy? I'd order one. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten my hands wet on designing in Lego, but maybe it'd be fun to try at least.
  15. The Greatest Robotech Sequel...EVAR!!! Yes, you heard that right the Gary Gnu Robotech news site has the latest and greatest, folks. I'm definitely finding this site to be absolutely hilarious till now.
  16. Used to have one of those. Pretty cool. I used to also have the diecast metal version, the one that only wend from Soldier to Armo diver mode. That one I may still have, although, it has a natural weathered look. I'd like to get another one of those if I can find it on ebay. Nothing like some of the vintage Mospeada to bring up some fresh nostalgia. Started getting all the lineart I need, and my wife just brought home a nice high end printer that prints up to 16x13 sheets. I will probably spread out my lineart sheets on large paper, and then begin my work on an inbit. On another sidenote to that, this printer will also allow me to make a humongous paper Macross Monster. Sucker should be about 2 feet tall, LOL.
  17. Sounds like a soccer player from either Spain or France. I bet he's gotta mean futbol kick.
  18. The only reason why I wouldn't see them actually coming after you in a case like that, is the idea that even though they have their own legal team, their lawyers may require extra money in their paycheck for having to go to court. Having to pay for them to go to court, just to tell a fan that he can't do fanfic work may not be worth it. It's not like they'd actually be able to sue you for much, if anything more than a "you can't put that out". Even still, would they really want to have that put in any public notice? If I were in that same position, and I went to court, I'd be telling everyone, simply out of principal, and to let people know the pettiness of a larger company. Is all that work worth that for HG?
  19. You may need to check your monitor's color settings. It's red/white. While I haven't seen the movie, I do hope they make a CF version as well, like a grey color or something. However, before I bite on getting more of these, I'm gonna thoroughly check the quality of this first one.
  20. In regards to the live action fan film, I thought about that as well, and if they allow other derivative fan works to go through, especially with the amount of foot traffic that know about it on their websites, wouldn't that provide an instance where people like the UEG would have a basis to fight HG? Seems like if they're going to pick and choose what fan works get to keep on going, they may lose the grounds to force someone else to cease their fan project. I could be totally wrong, but it does seem pretty odd that up till now, HG has been picking and choosing what fan works can keep going and not, at the behest of Tommy.
  21. Congrats dude. From what people have been saying, sounds like you'll enjoy it very much.
  22. I know, that they know about the interest in invid vinyl toys to compliment the MPCs, but I don't know if there's just a "by the book" method that says they have to do it in order of series or not, or if they're just concerned about sales. In any case, I'd like to make one that's somewhat functional, and one that's gonna look right, next to the 1/55, or 1/48, or whatever scale those things are, with my collection.
  23. If anyone wants a copy of this book, I maybe able to get them for about $45 (not including shipping from my location in L.A. to your location). If you are interested, send me a pm. I may only be able to do 3 or 4 at most.
  24. Well, the toynami alphas are listed at 1/55, and the Aoshimas are listed at 1/48. I guess they'd be at whatever fits that scale, which seems like 1/55, I guess. It's still gonna be pretty damn small.
