So, either the last two episodes of Robotech the New Gen. aren't canon, or RTSC isn't. If put to a vote, I'm willing to put up money that it's RTSC that would be kicked to the curb. Street justice style.

Just got my "payment sent" update, 22,360 from HLJ, and luckily, I just got paid. Just got enough on this freakin' check to pay for this, car, bills, and rent for next month. Why does the first always seem to be just around the corner? In regards to Ronald McKai, that really makes me want some french fries, a cold soda, and a Big Mac.

MickyG's Yamato VF-1S Unpainted, Unassembled Kit Build
Jasonc replied to mickyg's topic in The Workshop!
Yeah, I hear ya on that. It's rained and has been colder than usual here in socal, which has ruined, or rather put off some other projects. They can be so tempermental. -
That would make sense, but make the stupidest sense and excuse out their to cover up for lack of thought and concern. I'm wondering if they are actually going to do LLA now, especially since some people got word that that is what was going to be used. Everyone was quickly turned off with that idea, so perhaps the delay of that is in figuring out something new to do? Yeah, I know, already been talked about.

Even Scott and Ariel in RTSC seemed a bit odd. The last episode, Symphony of Light ends with Scott flying off. In RTSC, he comes back due to circumstances, but it's like "Oh you're back, and we're now a perfect couple." There's no settling, no real relationship interaction. It's so forced, and even the love interest that was there in MOSPEADA is diminished to a contrived, "they're supposed to be like this just because" form.

Yeah, but don't blame that on Tommy, as he says, "you know those young Korean animators".

I honestly would try to watch it in 3D if it was available. Don't know how good it'd be, but if it's simply an option, then why not. My only concern with all that would be cost. If it was gonna cost too much, then I'd say just skip the 3D. It can be over-hyped most of the time. As for BD, um, yeah, so long as they just aren't transferring the "HD DVD" over to it. I'd love to see it look brand spankin' new, and clean as can be. Again, cost....

Agreed for the record. If anything, you could always use a slight bit of shaking at the first part of the blast, emphasizing a sonic boom from the canon, or to emphasize the fact that it's a big blast.

Oh, but you forget Louie and JANICE...robot love. You also forgot Maia Sterling and Marcus Rush, some of the most forced, contrived love interests in our section of the galaxy. Kinda puts Star Wars the Phantom Menace up there with Casa Blanca, and Gone With the Wind as far as romance and drama.

There's some idiot on ebay who polluted the Macross poster search full of non official Macros posters. I had to do a search of all kinds of crap, just to realize that there's nothing I really want on there.

BOMMMMBAAAAAAAAAA! Totsugeki Love Heart and all that goodness. This is Masterpiece!!! I absolutely love it. Such an awesome valk for combat, if only Basara was down for that. He'll be the baddest passive valk ever made.

Very nice stuff. Love Macross cels. It was a joy to look at these pics, man.

It's not Golden Week, or something like that, is it? I ordered something, and it took awhile, but it's on it's way. My 11C just got shipping notice about 3 days ago. Could be that all the sales they are doing is getting them backed up, or a holiday, or something else. Nevertheless, HLJ is very good at shipping, and keeping to getting what you ordered.

It's even funnier when the person who said that, and the other lackeys proclaims to "know how Hollywood works". I think for that, if there's anything that is truly known, is that they're full of $h!t.

Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!
Jasonc replied to Jasonc's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just got a bit of a look of very early sculpting of some of this, and it's gonna look awesome. We're hoping that we can do something a little different with this, instead of just being recast, and when I get some pics of what is being done, I'll post them up. I know you guys are waiting on pics, so I'll get them to you soon. -
Ah, the good ol' days, hahaha. I criticized the poster that just had a locket on it. And, the reason why I didn't know it was Tommy, is because a lot of feature work like that isn't done directly from the people working on a film, but are sent to design firms, and to advertising agencies. I asked who did that poster, because it said nothing about the movie in one bit. Nothing about mecha, aliens, space ships, drama, just a locket that only more hardcore fans would know. To me, I wasn't surprised that the release of RTSC didn't gain any new fans. They only marketed to the older fans. That was one of the reasons I got demoted. I got banned for posting this, as I kept the original post... Apparently, somewhere in this nice message, is a vicious attack on all the HG staff, full of hate, despise, and bitterness, in which I'm calling up demons from the underworld to slay the HG staff and eat their unborn children I think they just didn't like the fact that people liked Tom and were friends with him, not just because of some animated show. They told me I "needed to cool off for a few weeks", and instead of apologizing, I let them have it in regards to the made up sh!t they conjured up, and could never get straight answers, which made it even more obvious I was dealing with unprofessional, petty hurt feelings. As it's not my style, that made the decision quite easy.

LOL, your @ss is grass on rt.com, (j/k). I think their ban policy is turning in on themselves and consuming themselves. Call all these posts complaining, rants, raves, whatever, but they're still true. Seems like you've reached the end of the B.S. rope. At this point, you may as well make some popcorn, get a nice seat, and watch the RT zoo animals fling poo at each other. I think that's what my RT fan friends have been doing as of late. Quite fun if you try it.
-
I wouldn't be surprised either. They'll ban for "attacking the staff", when it's all true. In reality, it's not like you'd be missing anything though. You're just another person not able to purchase anything from their store. Oh well.

The point is, is that for Graham, it's a 10 out of 10, and pretty accurate for what was in Mac 7.

This reminds me of back in the day, when Kevin was spouting off with his "ratings and demographics" presentation, AT A PARTY no less, and was trying to make some argument based on old facts that supposedly made Robotech a viable source for networks today. How long will they try to milk a dry cow? If all they're gonna do is remember the glory days of Robotech, when none of the current staff was doing anything for the franchise, then what good are you? I have noticed the correlation with the current staff trying to act like George Lucas, in running things on their own, not collaborating with others, not listening to the general consensus of fans, and be the makers of their own work, their own destiny. Some differences are, however, that at least George Lucas made good stuff at one point, I'm still waiting for this staff to do anything in the ball park. Also, Mr. Lucas marketed great toys, where HG barely even has a line (a velcro wallet??? C'mon!) Mr. Lucas also made his franchise billions, and, well, this is Robotech, and a poor reflection of it, even at that. Man, I'm full from a good meal, and tired. OK, onto better stuff.

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Jasonc replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
True, but I wasn't so sure that it'd be a big seller with the 11B that came just before it, and the price jacking up. With the 17, I've heard the wants for this for long time. So, get this out, in the D and S version, do the Emerald Force 19, and I think that would be it for the Mac 7 line, unless they actually go all out and do Ray/Veffidas 17, and the MAX-L. I know that's pushing it, but I'm good for now. -

I'm sure with the tech that they put into the VF-19 Kai, this will be on par with that, which is a good thing. The 17 was always that Valk that needed to be done, but never got the love. I'm surprised they waited this long, as they did he 11C before it, but, as we can see, it's in the works now. Great job, Yamato. -

Lucky guy. I hope he decides to get some, and reproduce. I'll adopt a couple for sure. With the 17, I am happy that not only are they looking to continue the Macross 7 line, but continue with Valks that we've all expressed interest in. If they don't make it, I may have to look into the possibility of doing the one that Veffidas/Ray pilot. -
