  1. It's even funnier when the person who said that, and the other lackeys proclaims to "know how Hollywood works". I think for that, if there's anything that is truly known, is that they're full of $h!t.
  2. Just got a bit of a look of very early sculpting of some of this, and it's gonna look awesome. We're hoping that we can do something a little different with this, instead of just being recast, and when I get some pics of what is being done, I'll post them up. I know you guys are waiting on pics, so I'll get them to you soon.
  3. Ah, the good ol' days, hahaha. I criticized the poster that just had a locket on it. And, the reason why I didn't know it was Tommy, is because a lot of feature work like that isn't done directly from the people working on a film, but are sent to design firms, and to advertising agencies. I asked who did that poster, because it said nothing about the movie in one bit. Nothing about mecha, aliens, space ships, drama, just a locket that only more hardcore fans would know. To me, I wasn't surprised that the release of RTSC didn't gain any new fans. They only marketed to the older fans. That was one of the reasons I got demoted. I got banned for posting this, as I kept the original post... Apparently, somewhere in this nice message, is a vicious attack on all the HG staff, full of hate, despise, and bitterness, in which I'm calling up demons from the underworld to slay the HG staff and eat their unborn children I think they just didn't like the fact that people liked Tom and were friends with him, not just because of some animated show. They told me I "needed to cool off for a few weeks", and instead of apologizing, I let them have it in regards to the made up sh!t they conjured up, and could never get straight answers, which made it even more obvious I was dealing with unprofessional, petty hurt feelings. As it's not my style, that made the decision quite easy.
  4. LOL, your @ss is grass on rt.com, (j/k). I think their ban policy is turning in on themselves and consuming themselves. Call all these posts complaining, rants, raves, whatever, but they're still true. Seems like you've reached the end of the B.S. rope. At this point, you may as well make some popcorn, get a nice seat, and watch the RT zoo animals fling poo at each other. I think that's what my RT fan friends have been doing as of late. Quite fun if you try it.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised either. They'll ban for "attacking the staff", when it's all true. In reality, it's not like you'd be missing anything though. You're just another person not able to purchase anything from their store. Oh well.
  6. The point is, is that for Graham, it's a 10 out of 10, and pretty accurate for what was in Mac 7.
  7. This reminds me of back in the day, when Kevin was spouting off with his "ratings and demographics" presentation, AT A PARTY no less, and was trying to make some argument based on old facts that supposedly made Robotech a viable source for networks today. How long will they try to milk a dry cow? If all they're gonna do is remember the glory days of Robotech, when none of the current staff was doing anything for the franchise, then what good are you? I have noticed the correlation with the current staff trying to act like George Lucas, in running things on their own, not collaborating with others, not listening to the general consensus of fans, and be the makers of their own work, their own destiny. Some differences are, however, that at least George Lucas made good stuff at one point, I'm still waiting for this staff to do anything in the ball park. Also, Mr. Lucas marketed great toys, where HG barely even has a line (a velcro wallet??? C'mon!) Mr. Lucas also made his franchise billions, and, well, this is Robotech, and a poor reflection of it, even at that. Man, I'm full from a good meal, and tired. OK, onto better stuff.
  8. Sing it with me....Weird Science!
  9. True, but I wasn't so sure that it'd be a big seller with the 11B that came just before it, and the price jacking up. With the 17, I've heard the wants for this for long time. So, get this out, in the D and S version, do the Emerald Force 19, and I think that would be it for the Mac 7 line, unless they actually go all out and do Ray/Veffidas 17, and the MAX-L. I know that's pushing it, but I'm good for now.
  10. I'm sure with the tech that they put into the VF-19 Kai, this will be on par with that, which is a good thing. The 17 was always that Valk that needed to be done, but never got the love. I'm surprised they waited this long, as they did he 11C before it, but, as we can see, it's in the works now. Great job, Yamato.
  11. Lucky guy. I hope he decides to get some, and reproduce. I'll adopt a couple for sure. With the 17, I am happy that not only are they looking to continue the Macross 7 line, but continue with Valks that we've all expressed interest in. If they don't make it, I may have to look into the possibility of doing the one that Veffidas/Ray pilot.
  12. Great news...Where's the VF-4?
  13. If Kevin's position on the website as a promo tool was indeed scorned, it's probably out of wanting to make his non-essential job there seem more glorified, more necessary than it really is. Not only that, but that sort of thinking is only a moron would come up with, as the site is up 24/7, and viewable to just about everyone. Convention tour??? Only a fraction of those people will see that, and a small fraction. The idea of a digital comic to download from iTunes, or as a viewable media to paying subscribers of the site not only supports giving the fans new material, it generates income, and creates (more or less) a positive buzz. I'm sure they won't do that, since Tommy isn't the one who thought of it. From what I've heard, Tommy's notorious for not wanting to get involved in good ideas if he didn't come up with it. I can think of a few ideas that were put in his decision to move with or not, and he's turned them down, then turned around and decided to do a half-assed version of the same thing. Perhaps it's not the greatest thing to be in a position where you need to have total control, from concept to end product, but you don't have the creative gumption to do anything really worthwhile. Of course, I could be totally wrong aout all of that, but I doubt it.
  14. Nice displays there. Right now, I have a lot of my boxed items and collections in 3 display cases just to consume space for the closet. Still thinking that by the endof year, I'll have a display room. I'd like to have a MOSPEADA section, as I seem to have gained a new found fondness for the series.
  15. Are you referring to the Macross Ace Magazine mangas? I've been working with someone here on doing Macross the First, but only have through book 1 done. I'm hoping that the iPhone has that app that translates one language into another in real time available for Japanese soon. I'd love to be able to use that to help in the translation effort. But alas, it's not available as of yet.
  16. This is an awesome thread chalked full of cool pics, and great new stuff. I long for the day of having a room with a display full of stuff to just look at and occasionally pull stuff out. Got some good surprises coming your way guys in a shot period of time.
  17. Love that orguss poster. Unfortunately, I don't have any Orguss posters as of yet, just a coupe cels of it.
  18. Look, whether you hate it, love it, or are completely indifferent to it, if they did a web comic, they'd have enough material if they simply did the Sentinels, joining Macek's vision of it with the Yuniverse version. That way, fans of Carl, fans of Tommy, and all those in between can get some filler story. I doubt they'd do all that now, especially since people like us at Macrossworld have come up with it before he did, but they could've done that on a monthly basis at least, and then put it up on iTunes as a download, or you can read and download it as an option for paid subscribers to the site. Had they thought of that, then they'd knock 2 birds out with one stone. They'd be generating money, would be supplying the fans with new content, and the staff would actually be working instead of pretending to do so. Wait, that's 3, so even better.
  19. Sounds pretty cool. Hopefully it generates a lot of cash.
  20. Um, because that makes too much sense, and would market the series too well. It seems like the HG staff's goal is to keep Robotech in a small box, and just show enough to piss their fanbase off. Not only that, but I have observed them as being quite lazy for the franchise.
  21. I think if they put up this same poll for the Minmay Guard Paris or Moon Act Valkyries, I think there'd be a lot more "YES" for a purchase. Maybe Yamato could look into buying the design from Hasegawa? That would be on the top of my list, while this simply isn't. Even worse if it's a Yamato Exclusive. The Yen/dollar ratio makes the exclusives a lot less appealing.
  22. You can also put a lot of blame on lack of oversight from anyone "in charge" of the project. Anyone who would know what they're doing in production wouldn't have had certain things simply fall through the cracks like they did. Crappy animation, cinematography, dull characters, a dull plot, and mistakes like one shot having Scott in his armor, and the next scene it not on, is again, lack of oversight and experience. They can blame the budget all they want, but that only accounts for some of the issues. The rest of it is just from people with lack of production experience pretending like they do know what they're doing.
  23. Mine was a bit challenging to get them all together, but they do seem to do it. It takes a little playing around with the connector pieces.
  24. To me, they're like reading/watching cheesy 1960 and 70 B-movie sci-fi stories and movies. They're intended for the popcorn gorging fun when you have no alternative for entertainment. Back when these were on the stands, this was the only Robotech stuff really coming out, so it was, and the fans ate it up. Some of it, is pretty good, but in reference to the other Robotech stories and comic series that were out. I have actually read some of the series as of recent, and they don't have the deep, hard hitting plots that they seemed to have back in the day. Again, my opinion, or at least to me, they were all the Robotech that was out there, aside from expensive VHS tapes, so a lot of the feelings back then were nostalgia driven.
