It looks great, but functionally, I'd only play this with my band of friends amongst the "anime" crowd. To that extent, how much do I really want it compared to the one I put up the link for, and there's a big difference. It's also something I'd have to play first to see how well the setup is. The Seymour Duncan p/u's are great, but that doesn't mean that this guitar would play well.

That's probably not even close to the replica that's going to be offered. High end performers usually get all their gear tweaked to their specifications. I have the Gibson already. As for my next "real" guitar purhase, I'm looking at a PRS, I believe the Swamp Ash or the ME Quatro. Here's one of them. http://prsguitars.com/swampashspecialnf/

This seems valid, although even if it does come out, if I see it, it's not gonna be because I bought it. I'll either watch it at someone else's house, or get a free copy. It just seems like this whole project is more of a piece of gum to fill the crack in a dam. Not only that, but we've already seen the "creative" efforts of the current staff, and well, I'm more than happy not to buy anything "new" from them.

I think it's possible that many of us, unbeknownst to all at the time, may have actually caused them to 1)Not use LLA because we called it very early through good intel. and 2) Redo what they had been doing and thus, alter the release time. Now mind you, they still could end up using the LLA stuff and maybe alter it a bit, but we'll see. The thing I don't understand is, why didn't they decided to do something like this when the iron was hot? When they had many more people interested in the franchise, they could've did something like this, and would have made much more than this thing could make now. These guys really aren't doing the franchise any good, and have been stunting it for awhile now. They've turned the franchise into a joke for us to laugh at. I can't believe that that the last thing I bought from them was the Red fighter, and that was how long ago???

Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!
Jasonc replied to Jasonc's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Alright, sorry for the delay so here we go... The decision was to go with CAD versions, as they will be much cleaner and crisp with the sculpt. There's one being built at 1/32 because someone asked to make a set to go with Captain's Legioss, but the detail right now is for the 1/55, or 1/48, whatever scale the Toynami/Aoshima scales are. More detail will be added for the 1/32 version. Luckily, I was able to make this decision with a lot of good advice from trusted people in the field who do this stuff, and based on the designs not only of the bike, but the armor figure, CAD was the way to go. Still have more to work on, and there will be some surprises added to the sets that haven't been mentioned. Hope you like them. -
I finally attempted transforming my 11C yesterday, and it' very easy to transform. Not too difficult with the heat shield. It's like the bottom piece stops, and if you pull just slightly more, it goes over a speed bump, and locks into position. Overall, very happy with it, and it is about as solid as can be. I remember the 11B being more difficult, but maybe it's just cause I didn't know how to transform it then.

I was thinking of Morrissey's "Some Girls are Bigger than Others"

Probably not, but, it'd be a great gag for that. I have two other guitars for regular playing, a Les Paul, and an Ibanez.

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)
Jasonc replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
To leave and come back? Aren't the fold boosters in the M7 timeframe usable once, then discarded? I finally got shipping notice of mine, so I'm very happy to see this thing come by the end of week. -
Hahaha, maybe I'll start guitar lessons for the Macross fans. Anybody wanna learn some Fire Bomber? I think this is probably gonna cost in the high hundreds, if not in the $1K range.

Damn, that's pretty cool. The specs on it actually look pretty damn good too. Seymour Duncan makes great pickups, and it's by ESP, the same guitar manufacturer a lot o big bands use, including Metallica. If I can swing it, I'll try to get one. It'd be awesome to play shows with this, and have people wonder what the hell guitar it is. I always wondered why a guitar manufacturer never made this, and well, here you go.

So nice, you had to say it twice!!! There's nothing like vintage posters to look at. Something about being able to see the art of the day, and in such a large version that is displayed in its artistic form, that just makes them seem so priceless. I just got a poster yesterday, not Macross related, but it's the Comico promo poster of MOSPEADA, advertising for the Robotech New Generation comic series. Just a gorgeous poster, and in very good condition. Takes me back to a fun time in my life.

There's still only the 2 that came out. In the Macross Ace magazine, they're up to Mars Base incident, but they haven't comprised those issues into book #3 as of yet. Actually, come to think of it, it should be somewhat soon, I'm guessing, as they've done several issues now, they may have enough content for the 3rd volume.

You mean, he's still playing kiss-up to become a moderator? He was trying to do that since before I made my exit in 07. He may have to wait longer, as Maverick had been waiting a lot longer before he found new inspiration in living. Sometimes you gotta wonder what kind of life these over-zealous fanatics have outside of Robo-tech? When at work, do they long to go home and talk about Robotech online? Do they go to sleep, praying they dream about Robotech? Do they eat breakfast hoping their cereal will spell a Robotech character name? I mean, really. Is there anything else going on? To be devoted to a franchise that is so lackluster and undevoted to the word quality, Something not good is happening there.

I like Dolza's grab of Lisa. "I was just holding it, I wasn't going to light it"

Sounds like fun, you lucky mofo.

Now, that's the makings of classic comedy and direction. They should've made that guy creative director.

No Beagle Blow Superior... that blows superior...
Jasonc replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's still being worked on. There's a couple things we're taking into consideration for the figures, computer design vs. full sculpt, how many sets, and possible additions to the set, along with extra gimmicks that will make it not just a "recast" project. There should be an update to that soon. Keep you guys posted and will have an update once more details are ironed out. -

That should've been where Toynami took the old design, revamped it, to get the best of both worlds. Oh well, you can always want perfection, hardly ever comes. Anybody want MOSPEADA figures? -
Good stuff. I wish people did that here in the states. And as for the tablature for the guitar of Macross Dogfighter, I've been working on that. I'm hoping to have it down sometime. Definitely getting there.

I tell you this. There was a time when I had about 19 of the Toynami alphas, as I kinda inherited them from a store owner. They had a great matte finish to them, and they looked pretty good in guardian/armo-diver mode, and ok in robot mode, but were horribly designed in fighter mode. the landing gear didn't come down far enough, the chest stuck out too far, and as EXO said, the arms weren't made of enough reinforced plastic, and would often break when pulling the arms out. As a bonus, sometimes you got crumbling hands, and a head that was on crooked, and if you were a real lucky one, the legs didn't extend fully, as they were supposed to. Now, compare to the Gakken 1/35, it was big, not as detailed and a bit blocky and chunky, but that was it. It was also a toy designed in the 80s. I would've been happier to see the Gakken scaled down to the Toynami size, and simply add the better color and finish, and add some of the modern posability design, than to have what came out recent. What was also cool, was the fact that the shoulder rocket didn't have to come off when transformed. In my opinion, the Gakkens are still the best of the Legioss/Alpha toys to date. -
Yeah, I can hear the song "This is Robotech, This is Robotech" sung by ace veritech pilot Jack Baker Skelington. He can deliver scary pumpkin heads in the form of micro missiles to all the young girls and boys, and defeat the Zentraedi with Halloween songs. The Zentraedi could be religious zealots whom are trying to cancel Halloween, and destroy the earth by doing so.

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)
Jasonc replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Never lost it, and you're right, it is just a toy, so there's no reason for concern. You're catching on. -
That sucks. Did it break as in a piece snapped off, or did a piece just come off? There's a certain amount of effort it takes to get that bottom heat shield to lock. I thought was going to break mine, but it closed. I haven't tried the 11C yet.

I got my 11C the other day from the HLJ sale, and it's a very nice toy. It's solid, and looks great in all modes. I can finally say that I'm up to date on the M7 line.
