Now you gotta do that with this guitar. I thought of doing a couple youtube vids of some FireBomber songs, but with my amp at our drummer's house, not gonna happen anytime soon.

That's pretty f!@king hilarious. Seriously, the guy must have no life, being that he can't seem to focus on his job, but is enamored with thoughts of gas. And that's kinda how the franchise rolls.

Well, I guess whatever way they prefer to make themselves look incompetent, either via convention or press release, is up to them. Now, is it just me, or does Robotech seem stuck? By stuck, I mean, they have Macross, that the spent probably good money on protecting it from the real Macross coming over. However, what was once so lock tight, isn't anymore. Robotech and Macross fans no longer have to buy stuff with a Robotech label on it, as e-tailers are ever plenty, and getting an item across the world is now easier than ever. Robotech with the Macross name has the DVDs that are now free. It also has merchandise that is sub par to the alternatives in Japan. I know HG is hoping that the LAM comes from WB, and that it validates the property, but HG is in a position where it's tied itself way too strong to a franchise that it can't utilize much of anymore. Should HG reboot the first 1/3rd of Robotech and free itself from Macross to give it some breathing room, or should it just remain some obscure franchise selling keychains, pins, wallets, and writstbands?

What site has the preorder?

And that should also tell you what type of moron McKeever is. They should just not open their mouth at all, and not have any convention panels, or anything like that. At least it'd save them from looking like idiots (even though it's way too late), would keep the loyal looney fans from damaging their franchise (probably too late there as well), and would keep us from calling their B.S.

$10 says that a few of the crazy vocal RT fans all-of-a sudden start singing this guy's praise in the streets, and start claiming how innovative and emotional this guy's music is, just because he's supposedly working on the Robotech LAM. They'll probably start urging all RT fans to buy his CDs, and will probably claim this guy to be the 2nd coming of Christ. To be honest, if it isn't Michael Bradley, or a big name band, I really could careless. Also, if he's been working on it for sometime, and they're sitting on the project, more than likely, he may move on after some period of time. Sometimes, a song or score that was written early on, doesn't fit with the final product, and musicians usually move onto other music they're working on. Getting stuck on one project too long can often be detrimental to a music/songwriter.

Those fan racers are looking sweet. I think I have like 3 of them that I haven't built. At least 2. I'm gonna have to get these going soon.

I know he had some serious issues with the vendor with the rubber awhile back, and was going to do some other route. I'm sure they're being worked on, as I know he's been working on them for awhile now. He's always good on getting stuff out, and if there's been issues, he's on top of it. I know he's not gonna take your money and run.

I so wanna get this. Going to pop up several things on ebay in hopes of getting the funds together.

I don't know where I read it (probably here somewhere), but is there going to be a book with all the custom model kits and artwork for the novel in it? While I have been getting the Dengeki hobby mags for the artwork and such, I'd really like to see it in a nice combined magazine or something like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mac Plus and II were released here before the issues of all the court cases evolved, and those were kinda "after the fact".

I'm actually glad this thread got brought back up. I was going to do a full array of real world ordinance for my VF-1 series if these weren't made. I've only done the wing mounted jamming weapons, but in going through the master file books, the ordinance in those look great with the VF-1 series. If they don't plan to do anything with those, I'll probably make my own. I'd also still like to see crew and standard pilot sets, as well as the booster for launching these into space.

Maybe the hope is, that Robotech's viability as a highly profitable item will decline, and maybe it will be affordable for a group of MW investors. Robotech obviously is in incapable hands, HG has too many legal battles to really care about the franchise, and has anyone thought about what would happen to the franchise after Frank Agrama? Will his family take over the company and keep Robotech, or will they get rid of the franchise and sell off the company's assets? At that time, what would be the ramifications for the Robotech franchise? Of course nobody knows those, but it's interesting speculation on what would happen.

I guess the price also depends on the market at that time. If the economy is supposedly getting better, this may not cost as much as the Kai did. Always many factors involved. -
Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!
Jasonc replied to Jasonc's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
These are being made to fit with the Aoshima/Toynami Alpha/Legioss toys, so they are more in the 1/55-1/48 scale. Upon doing some math, the Aoshima/Toynami toys are actually in 1/51 scale. These won't be in 1/72, but if I had enough interest in 1/72, it might be considered. Oh yeah, here's the CAD figure not on the bike, but posed for it. -

Keith said: Kawamori has had an interest in the U.S. market for awhile. The problem is that there seems to be too many other cooks in the kitchen, and there isn't much he can do about it. In a perfect world, all those ideas, stuff you wrote, would be a possibility, and we'd be able to get all this stuff in a local shop without having to pay extra for the shipping and all that.

Finally had time today to pick up this issue. Awesome pics. Got this, along with some takoyaki, seafood dumplings, ate some miso ramen, and sweet potato apple pie. Thanks, Mitsuwa!!!

At first, I was thinking, "this guy has really no F!@king clue what he's talking about". Then, I got the sarcasm, LOL. I had my hand on the "Open Airlock" button, ready to push for awhile. Good thing I read it through.

Yep, totally agree. Most of the stories in the Ace magazines are good, if at least for some filler, but flagship stories they are not. There's so much time gap story they could do. Hell, why not do a story between end of SWI and planet Eden, or even comic the VFX Ravens story. That was a well deserving story, with plot twists, and a lot of info that Macross fans would love to get a hold of. The 7th Chord is a good story. It's different, and I think that's what helps it stand out. While I like watching Frontier on my t.v., I'm a little burned out on seeing Frontier side stories flood the Ace magazines. Diversity goes a long way.

Latest designs are in. Here is the CAD of the Ride Armor figure, and the motorcycle in storage mode. The figure on the motorcycle will simply be the armor and motorcycle CAD designs combined. I'm sure you guys are now thinking, cool, so the first set is done....WRONG! There's going to be more coming with, so sit tight, and I'll get you more of that soon. Interest list is still up, so if you're wanting a set, let me know. Without further ado, here is the other two. -
And there's a market for that as well, because Macross hasn't skimmed the surface just to get by on their products. Those games are awesome. Having the Bluray of Frontier with the game is additional stuff that fans take in, and feel like they're getting more of a bargain, and feel like the franchise hears what they want. That's why it's such a fun, and easy franchise to enjoy. Robotech? Beyond the staff making snide remarks and having a few moron drones work under them, even the product they put out, when they do on occasion, is half-@ssed. Yet they'll ride a high wave based on that half-@ssed product for a longer time than they should. It's quite a funny phenomenon to see.

There is the mention that Robotech as a franchise in the video game market is a joke since Invasion. That's a given. Before WB got the license to possibly make a video game, there was no way that any company would put money into a new game with previous sales of Invasion. Not only that, the newest generation of console game systems are, from what I've been told, more costly, especially in light of the fact that most of the games use motion capture, and ever increasing technology. If there were to be another Robotech video game, it would probably be in regards to what sells, Macross. Probably not even giving Shadow Chronicles a second thought. From what has been gathered thus far, WB has the rights to make a Robotech game now, since they'd probably want to do one if (doubt it) they make a live action flick.

While it'd be great to see Mac the First continue, I personally like the other side stuff of Macross Ace. I know Frontier is popular, but at some point, I hope they realize that they need to exand the publication into the other series and perhaps find another signature story. There's a lot of ways the publication can go, and I hope that it continues to sell well.

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)
Jasonc replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Got mine in today, and transformed it a couple times. Transforming this thing is easy. While joints are nice and tight, the hip joint that people have broken isn't difficult to move at all. It does seem that putting the leg at a 90 degree angle, then rotating the legs outward a bit, makes the leg part come out very easy. I'm also happy to report no stress marks anywhere, and a very solid, well designed toy.
