It seems like this movie supposedly in the works "Pacific Rim" or something like that, is indirectly being speculated as the next Robotech movie. Also, anybody hear about the lawsuit going against Tobey Mac for getting paid in high stakes poker games that involved money from ponzi schemes? Interesting stuff. I'd put up links, but at 0145 hrs, I'm not much in the mood for doing too much internet searching. Funny how none of the Row-boat tech fanatics don't talk about all the legal troubles HG/Agrama is in? Just thought I'd bring that up, since they probably want to keep on with the idea that HG is only focused on Robotech. Quite opposite.

Here's another thing I hope they take into consideration. I hope the Galia IV set will still fit with the v.2 releases. I spent good money on that set, and I'm not about to buy it again if it doesn't. I can understand if the armor for the v.1 doesn't fit...the toy maybe retooled in certain places, and to be honest, that armor barely hung on. However, the Galia IV set was just an accessory piece, and was designed to fit onto all the Valks, so I hope they accomodate that.

Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!
Jasonc replied to Jasonc's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
OK, all figures for set 1 have gone to the printer, and hopefully in about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, we'll get the masters. Count it down, it's being done. -
I'm glad they're doing this. Honestly though, I can wait for these, as the v.1 kinda burned me a bit. I was on the fence, cause I had no idea if this was going to come true, or if I was just gonna take the plunge and get the v.1 25s. I have both 27s, and those are fine, but if they do make a v.2 of those, I'll get those as well. Still gonna wait for the reviews of these, and if they are looking like the 29, I think I'll jump in.

Man, I was hoping not to hear this news. I didn't realize it was coming, and I just put up a bunch of these for sale as well in the for sale section. Damnit. I was buying two copies of each as well, to show support, but alas, what can we do? I hope they are just regrouping, and I hope the magazine did well enough to warrant it to continue. So far, the news doesn't look good.

I know these have been put up, but I was cleaning out some of the posters I have stuck in tubing, and put them in the book. So, here's the added ones. One is Robotech, I know, and one isn't directly Macross, but very cool posters.

Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!

OK, boss. Got you down. -
I showed my wife a bit of it, and she laughed. Just cute girls with boobs, a super catchy pop song, and geeky guy stuff flashes. It's quite addicting.

This subject has long been discussed in a very similar thread here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32144&st=0&p=820128&hl=+astro%20+plan&fromsearch=1entry820128 I think everyone is on the same consensus that it is definitely a rip-off.

You know what was epic, the mecha from Lancer's Rockers...Makes Basara look like a freakin' solid Macross stud character.

EPIC F!@KING WIN!!!

Ah, so that's what Tommy's doing on the side. Looks like that hammers down the fact that Robotech is really busy and a lot is moving [/sarcasm]

I think Hikaru knows that the picture is going to be on the cover of a manga, and he doesn't want to give the wrong impression, so he's looking away. He doesn't wanna look like a perv. Minmay looks cute.

No Beagle Blow Superior... that blows superior...

I posted up one of the figures that will be in a later set. You can check out the MOSPEADA figure set thread for the other pics, but here's one of them. These will be 1/55 figures. -
Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!
Jasonc replied to Jasonc's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thought I'd keep the thread fresh by showing off one of the "bonus" figures that will come with a later set. Inbit foot soldier. Without further ado, here it is: List updated as well. -
I didn't dislike the movie, it was, OK. However, I think I was able to enjoy it more, because I went in with no expectations, as I heard a lot of bad reviews. The villains did seem way too easy to defeat, and the "threat" in the plot didn't seem as harsh as it should have been. Could've been more action, but overall, it's a passable movie IMO. And for the record, the title of the thread should be "Hal Jordan Is Green Lantern". I don't know who this Ryan Reynolds guy is.

If you build it, they will come!

I know I didn't win it, but tried What can you do. Maybe that person who has it may "give it away" to someone who will recast the parts??? I know, hopeless wishing. -
Something interesting, like they kill off all the old characters, kill the Haydonites, destroy all the mecha, and have to rebuild new mecha and very-techs, then (the big plot twist...) AN ALIEN RACE COMES TO TAKE OVER EARTH AND IT'S LAST REMAINING POWER SOURCE!!!

As I've stated before, I was never treated bad by them, I just got tired of listening to stupid excuses, and the way the whole thing is run. I expressed an opinion they didn't agree with, and was told to "cool off" and apologize, and I told them what they could do with that. No bitterness, or negativity there, I just call things as they are. Most people know that I call things as they are, and it was quite hard for me to put on the "Hooray for Robotech" attitude, when they had just come out with a movie that sucked to no end. As for the movie, I've never been into the animated shows-turn-movie. G.I.Joe, Transformers, Dragonball, have all sucked in my opinion. Transformers had half-assed plots, and in seeing the second movie, it reminded me of why I don't care for them. I don't need, or care to see a revision of Robotech that isn't going to be like the original. Also, if they're going to do that, they might as well call it Macross, and keep it true. It's just my opinion, but that's it. Also, I don't need to support a franchise that I don't believe in, or have given me any decent product in forever. If the product is worthy, I'm in, but how often does that happen? I'm also not one to simply buy something just because it has an endearing franchise label attached to it. So, take those two reasons, and those are my reasons for not having any interest in seeing a Robotech Live action movie. It has noting to do with being bitter, just personal opinions and beliefs.

Just had a chance to listen to it today. Overall, pretty good. Are you guys gonna go live? I've wanted to do a live podcast for awhile now, so since I'm not, hopefully you guys will. The content, in general, was well organized. You guys do seem to sometimes speak over each other, which can detract a bit, but not too bad for a first round go.

I know there is still a small chance of this movie being made, but as WB and other movie companies have been making a lot of these movies with the same type of plot, one's gotta wonder if the fad will die down. Battle Los Angeles was a good movie, and while I'm sure some of the vocal RT fans are still looking into this being the next Robotech movie, I wonder if WB just bought the rights to Robotech so that nobody else would use it. I know they have been toying with the idea of this movie for awhile, but I wonder if they are just doing that to check the viability, and at this point maybe shelve it??? I, personally, hope it doesn't get made. I have no interest in seeing a new incarnation of this, and it just seems like a bad idea all around. If it does get made, I hope it flops. I won't be seeing it. I am always looking for a good movie to make as tent wood and pitch it...LMAO This "Tent pole" term seems to be the new secret word for the Robotechies. I'm sure the techies hope that Robotech becomes their tent pole to pitch.

Gauging interest for 1/55 MOSPEADA FIGURES!!!
Jasonc replied to Jasonc's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Alright guys, quick update...The first round of these figures did generate enough interest to start the project, so these will be getting made shortly. What I'm going to do, is start an interest list for each set, and if there's enough people wanting each set, the project will move forward. The designs are done for all the bikes, ride armors, ad figures, as well as some of the bonus material. Hoping that some pics of the finished product will get you guys excited about it. They look awesome. More to come shortly. Oh, and when the time to order is ready, I will pm and contact everyone on the list. Thanks for your patience. -
That makes sense...afterall, Robotech is so innovative and on the cutting edge of everything. I heard all video games over the past 10 years have all been made due to how creative and in the forefront as Robotech is. Also, in the movie industry, WB is trying to hurry and finish the Harry Potter franchise, and get all the other movies done, just so they can solely work on Robotech, because it pitches a tent....I mean.... it's their tent pole.

I just sent a message to Kinokuniya, and asked if they could hold me my copies of the books, and they said they would, so hopefully that'll be good enough.
