I agree, it is a pricey kit to have. One would think that at the price point, there would be the heavy and light missile options. That said, I am happy they came out with it. The idea of having one in a "correct scale" with the 1/60s is cool. Missile pod options would've been nice, but I'm not all that big on having them, and it would've been worse if the price was higher due to having them. I would love the scout version though. Almost makes me wanna buy another one just for that.

It's funny to point out that he'd go on a blog, log in, and post that up. Usually it's a tell-tale sign that it bothered him enough to make that a point. In other news, I just saved a lot on my car insurance.

I've pondered the same question several times, and with several people. The consensus from us, is that HG is banking on the fact that WB will enjoy enough success with the franchise and merchandise to warrant purchasing the franchise outright from them. If that is the idea, then HG wouldn't want to spend too much money on new series and the like. However, the franchise needs to look like there are fans, and that the series is viable in today's market. To that effect, HG is eeking out some merhandise in China, attempting to put out more rpgs, and working on this side story. I wouldn't call the documentary a big project, as documentaries by and large, cost little to make. The interviews are being done in a HG office, and they have easy access to all the people they need to do it. I'm familiar with the person(s) involved in putting it together, so I think it will be done well. I think this is very plausible, and aside from Tommy, Steve, and Kevin's soft, inflated ego, this may also be why they are trying so hard to do some damage control. I'm sure if WB was interested, they'd be looking at the broad picture of taking this franchise over. Seeing too many negative comments, and an overall bad vibe, is not what HG wants WB to have.

To be cynical or upset at HG, they didn't have to do bad stuff to the person, only to the series (Robotech and Macross) people like. Darkwater was cynical about them before the "Un-official Robotech Reporter" was out. Hell, we all were cynical before that, and it seemed like Shadow Chronicles was the validation that all the stuff we criticized about the current state of the franchise, and the abilities of the current staff were pretty true. That's when the mass exodus began. Awww, the good ol' days

The point is to demonstrate and examine their stupidity. At this point, we haven't really had to debate anything, as questions regarding the licensing, rights, and whatnot have all been either clearly explained, or proven. Plus, the fact that we can point out these stupid quotes, actions, attitudes, etc. throws them into a weird panic. It's like blowing on a trail of ants, they're nice and calm, going about their everyday life, until you blow on a section of the line, and they all start scurrying around for their lives.

It's funny. I'd hardly correlate a quote about striving against the odds, taking big risks, and persevering, with a guy who can't tell the truth and acts like a douche while sitting in a corporate building and does virtually nothing. And I do agree, a company paying money for animation and simply taking credit for doing all the work is hardly worthy of being in the same quote. I add a +1 to comedy factor for seeing this quote.

That's all good an dandy about "Supply Chain" crap, but when Toynami says that the toys haven't been made yet, that's very different than what Kevin says. Hmmm, maybe Kevin meant to say that, and maybe what he said isn't what he really meant? I know economics plays a role in the amount of spending on trivial items such as toys, but being held in China because of boats is just the most retarded excuse I've heard in a long time. Someone else brought up the question of how come the chinese TPB comics can make it here, but battle pods can't? That should tell everyone right then and there that something is not right with Kevin's backassward statement. I can see why Tommy has Kevin do the talking for these panels, it relieves him of the duty of sounding like an idiot.

If we scale it back a lot, like back in the day, I think it will run itself. People who sell stuff can setup tables, customizers can bring in the awesome stuff, we have a t.v running some new or cool Macross stuff, maybe some video games. We all chip in for food, maybe a panel or two, and music. Custom contest, and if that's not enough (which probably is) maybe ask for some donations and sponsors? On day is enough too. Just my opinion.

After transforming mine, I had trouble putting the head back in during battroid to fighter. Son-of-a B would not go under. It took some figuring out, but at last, along with the arms, finally worked. Those parts are freakin' difficult. Needless to say, my 29 has the paint chipping on the head as well. All else is fine, but mine isn't nearly as extreme as the above pic. I have that flat red, and will touch up tomorrow. Was gonna try a gundam marker, but if the flat red works, I'm set.

Picked up only 2 cels this year at AX, and both not Macross...BUT...very closely related, and pretty nice for the price to say the least. Enjoy.

Bad@ss...It loks very cool, and you got it framed. I went to AX this year, and picked up one poster, the other came with the 29.

I never really put too much stock into first out photos anyways, so while they look great, it doesn't really convince me of anything. Like the YF-29, it was the muc later photos that showed all the promise and what the goods really were. So, with that, I'll stay ready, and save my comments till then on the design.

Yeah, in regards to the Battle pods lying around. Why is it that HG says they are at a factory in China because there aren't enough boats and they're in Malaysia? Why didn't Kevin just say that Toynami hasn't produced them yet, instead of some stupid story about waiting for boats to fill up? I mean, that is the truth right there. Someone there can fill the other part in, but an ex-employee of HG corrected some of Tommy's B.S., and called Tommy out. Tommy was kinda fumbling for words. Can't remember exactly what it was about, but it was classic. As for the new animation, the only thing that looked better was cel shading over the CG ships. I'm sure there will be video soon, so while I track it down, hold tight. It's either that, or it's Flash animation, as it looks very shoddy. There's a part where a ships thrusters just blink on and off, and looks very rough. From what they've shown, it appears as though they weren't working on this for too long, indicating they were going one way, and decided to do something different. As with that, they do mention "NO DISTRIBUTOR". Kevin at one point makes an announcement to have an announcement by end of year, and hopefully that's on the panel filmed. Ridiculous, yeah, I know. We can break this panel down into small segments, and most of it says B.S.

Got mine yesterday, but haven't had much time to look at it, being at Anime Expo. Anyways, I bought this on the gamble that it'd be worth it and not a floppy mess, and it seems to have paid off. The plasic seems a bit too "plasticky" but unfortunately, that seems to be the trademark of Bandai. Other than that, I've had no problems with mine, and hope none pop up.

If Tommy says those things to "piss off the Macross fans" that probably backfired, as it just makes them look incompetent. Also, Tommy did use the term "Macross Purist" in one of his answers. I see the sarcasm, but why cut the Macross franchise and dumb it down into a Robotech story? Also Tommy did mention that it would have to be more an alternate universe idea, as it wouldn't fit all that well.

I can almost guarantee you that it will be the exact same panel, maybe with a voice actor to cover the dull talk, but the same. Some of the fan questions were just Effing retarded. One guy asked, no, two people asked about opening talks with Japan to get the Macross series over like Frontier to add to Robotech. Tommy's first comment was that he likes that idea, or something to that effect, and I heard several people giving a WTF under their breath. I know I was kinda shocked that he thought of that as a good idea. Didn't get that on camera, but man, do they know what they're saying, or do they just talk to please the person asking the question. If someone asked me that question about a franchise I worked for, my answer would be a very tactful, "What the hell are you talking about? Why would you want that?" At least it seems Robotech fans know where the good stuff is, and since Tommy and co. can't produce the goods, they would rather see that. Just not a good idea at all.

I definitely missed these as well, and should a re-release come, I'm on board, but as there are so many other things out there, I can wait at this point. As a consolation, I have my M&M 22s that are sitting pretty in the boxes till I can move (which maybe this year). I hope Graham can talk to Yamato about releasing more of these out into the public. I can't even find them Ebay, which I would use if these weren't an arm and leg already.

I put up my Michael version for sale about 5 days ago maybe (?) and it was right when this thread was out. Didn't read this until after it was up. Well, I'm now 25-less. I'm glad they'll look like they are supposed to, and that proto of the v.2 looks damn good. Still hoping the accessorie sets, like the Galia IV set will still connect.

I'll be going all 4 days as well. Looking forward to this year. I don't know if I'll buy anything big, but seeing new stuff is fun. Going to the Hatsune Miku concert on saturday night.
