I will try to sing this to my wife, and see what happens. I'll probably get the rollie eyes, but that's how I roll.
-
I can make them, but I have so many other projects on the table, that I can't really hunker down and get them completed. It's in the works.
-
Yep, that's where this thing came from. As far as working Lancer into the story, they could've also said that this ship was more for high speed recon, and he just got shot down. He doesn't seem like the soldier type anyways, and his type of ride armor would support a recon story as well. Ugh, HG, you suck at creating story, even for story that's 90% written already.
-
That, I can agree on. Could've done it where Lancer wasn't supposed to go out in one, as they weren't meant to be used on the reclamation mission, but he does anyways. Something like that. It would've made more sense than throwing your men to the lions.
-
Yep, that makes sense...take out all the most advanced fighters you have out of the equation, and lead a reclamation force full of half-assed, one mode fighters against a superior fighting force, to do it. Afterall, that's what any smart general would do, right?

The animation does look pretty decent...like I said, at least better than Shadow Chronicles. I don't think they need to redo that movie, as the story sucks to no end. While this doesn't show much, it does, at this point, seem to confirm that they moved away from using some, or more of the LLA footage as this side story. It also seems to totally negate the picture shown last year of Sera holding the shield and gun, as this seems to take place before her transformation. Overall, it's OK. It doesn't move me into a sense of wow, and maybe that's just because it's kinda rehashing old story and old designs (they can't seem to do anything totally original, can they). I guess we'll see more as time goes. The animation looks passable at this point, but there are some parts of it that look very cheap, like the blinking thrusters (now that I mentioned it, HG, you can fix it), and the super saturated green in the ship. Trust me, it looked much heavier in person, than on the camera footage this person shot. Maybe this is just some unfinished stuff.

That animation still holds up today. I don't know how long that will be up, as Bandai is usually pretty quick to get those off youtube, but it's still very good, even by today's standards. Of course, if you're using the HG standard, then this is the greatest animation of ALL TIME!!! Speaking of animation, this has been floating around already. I didn't shoot this, but saw several cameras open during the filming. This is but one. You have to download it. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q5GZYOSM

Yeah, moves can be so harsh on the body, mind, and spirit, just looking at all the stuff to do. But, this move will be a good one, as the house is big enough to have my own display room. Thinking of doing the same with custom diplay cabinets built in. Epic.

No Beagle Blow Superior... that blows superior...

If the Mospeada figure set gets to set 5 or 6 that I'm working on, there will be some "baddies" (shock trooper). The foot soldier is already designed, and will be in an earlier set, as well as Lunk/Jim's jeep. Got a lot planned for the Mospeada toys. As long as the interest is there, hopefully I'll get through the entire run of ideas. -
Strike A Pose! V.4 - The Macross Mech Pose Thread
Jasonc replied to JCSaves's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
For some reason, the VF-25 pics just don't have that appeal that the Yamato toys have. It's not the brand name either, just the look. Never got too far into collecting them, so absolutely no loss to me. I'm surprised no one has put up the YF-29 in this thread. I may do that soon. -
That question is an interesting one. If HG went under, or Frank goes and they start selling off the assets, do those series go back to Tatsunoko, or do they transfer to the buyer? Probably all stipulated by what was in writing, but it would seem logical that at that point in HG's life, should it happen, Macross, Southern Cross, and MOSPEADA, would all go back to Tatsunoko.

It was a large DYRL cel of Minmay during her concert with original background. These cels are very expensive, and based on the condition, was very, very clean. No line deteriation. I have one, rather, my wife has one, that was around $400. There are those certain characters that if you can find a cel, are a pretty penny. Another one like that is Noriko Takaya from Gunbuster. Her cels in good poses and position are way up there.

Good purchase, and at 5% off. Slightly less than MSRP is pretty good, considering these are selling for more than that in some places. Enjoy the purchase. -

[singing]After all of the battles are over....[/singing] $200 is about the same as they were when they first came out. If you got the money and means, I'd say go for it. -
If this comes out, I'm going to write a song to get it on the soundtrack. I'll call it "Swagger Like a Thundercat" or some crappy title like that. The tag line will be "I shake my swagger like a Thundercat, Hoe!" Whatcha think? Anyways, I'm likin the previews of this show, and I'm totally wanting to see this. This is probably how most of the cartoons that are out now should do things. It appears to have a more serious approach, and geared for kids, and for the people who grew up watching these. It's not dumbed down, at least it seems, which is great.

There were some. There was a few of Minmay, ranging from $200-$1200. There was also quite a few of Myun from Mac Plus. One of them I would've loved to have gotten, but it was a bit out of my price range ($500). There was one of Hikaru in DYRL helmet, one of the VF-1D, one of Guld Goa Bowman. There were also quite a few of them of Sharon Apple.

If you're measuring by insulting people, they're probably on par with each other. Bendo does it more directly and McKeever tries to veil it under half-assed sarcasm and cynical comment. If you were to gauge them by annoyance factor, again, none of them really seem to do that well, either. Ah, but "Troll factor"...now, that we can measure.

VF-25 v.2 preordered After seeing the what the improvements offer, I'm more than happy to put down my reserve spot. I think the best improvement is just the look overall, but improving the cockpit, crotch, landing gear, legs, it's all a vast improvement.

This is what makes going to AX so much fun. This year, the calibur of anime cosplay girls seemed much higher than previous years. Not just in costume, but in the hotness scale. It was also nice seeing girls in the older range (20-30s) cosplaying. -
I agree, it is a pricey kit to have. One would think that at the price point, there would be the heavy and light missile options. That said, I am happy they came out with it. The idea of having one in a "correct scale" with the 1/60s is cool. Missile pod options would've been nice, but I'm not all that big on having them, and it would've been worse if the price was higher due to having them. I would love the scout version though. Almost makes me wanna buy another one just for that.

Judging by this quote of his, he should stop writing then??? I wonder why he has this fixation with the idea that this whole thread is about him? It's funny to point out that he'd go on a blog, log in, and post that up. Usually it's a tell-tale sign that it bothered him enough to make that a point. In other news, I just saved a lot on my car insurance.

I've pondered the same question several times, and with several people. The consensus from us, is that HG is banking on the fact that WB will enjoy enough success with the franchise and merchandise to warrant purchasing the franchise outright from them. If that is the idea, then HG wouldn't want to spend too much money on new series and the like. However, the franchise needs to look like there are fans, and that the series is viable in today's market. To that effect, HG is eeking out some merhandise in China, attempting to put out more rpgs, and working on this side story. I wouldn't call the documentary a big project, as documentaries by and large, cost little to make. The interviews are being done in a HG office, and they have easy access to all the people they need to do it. I'm familiar with the person(s) involved in putting it together, so I think it will be done well. I think this is very plausible, and aside from Tommy, Steve, and Kevin's soft, inflated ego, this may also be why they are trying so hard to do some damage control. I'm sure if WB was interested, they'd be looking at the broad picture of taking this franchise over. Seeing too many negative comments, and an overall bad vibe, is not what HG wants WB to have.
-
To be cynical or upset at HG, they didn't have to do bad stuff to the person, only to the series (Robotech and Macross) people like. Darkwater was cynical about them before the "Un-official Robotech Reporter" was out. Hell, we all were cynical before that, and it seemed like Shadow Chronicles was the validation that all the stuff we criticized about the current state of the franchise, and the abilities of the current staff were pretty true. That's when the mass exodus began. Awww, the good ol' days

The point is to demonstrate and examine their stupidity. At this point, we haven't really had to debate anything, as questions regarding the licensing, rights, and whatnot have all been either clearly explained, or proven. Plus, the fact that we can point out these stupid quotes, actions, attitudes, etc. throws them into a weird panic. It's like blowing on a trail of ants, they're nice and calm, going about their everyday life, until you blow on a section of the line, and they all start scurrying around for their lives.
