So, I was right. in my guesstimation of why Robotech has any importance to her. I'm probably not the only one who could've seen that, but a year and a half of psych courses will definitely make things like that easy to call out maybe? Onto the next subject, HG sucks! OK, back on track. So, why is it (and please give another reason other than they just aren't creative enough) that the best title Tommy can give for the next Robotech side $hit, is "Robotech: Love Live Alive"??? Really? Wait, Really?? I mean c'mon...REALLY??? Is Carl's, I mean, Tommy's vision that lacking in the creative bulge? Do they even know what the f!@# "Love Live Alive" actually means? IF the Genesis Climber Morsepedia (you know where that came from) music tribute was called "Love Live In Your Butt", would the new Robotech side project simply be called "Robobtech: Love Live in Your Butt"? It always enlightening to get a new bar setting for the term MORON. And leave it to a franchise that I used to think was pretty cool growing up, to set said proverbial bar. Hahaha, it's 0430 pst, and I'm IRL LOL (my daily use of the text shorts). In all this, it's pretty funny, seeing the yellow short bus with the RT fantards being driven right into an oncoming freight train of common sense. All the while, they're singing "My Time to Be a Star" and "We Will Win". Seriously, them in that short bus, and the freight train, who do you think is really going to win?

I don't think anyone can dictate your opinion for you. You're gonna like what you're gonna like. Toy-wise, I like the Yamato because it's more line art accurate. As for what design, I like both equally, so there's no real either/or for me.

It's kinda sad that the M & M sold so quickly, but never got re-released. I'm pretty sure it does have to do with the 1/48 sales. It takes me back to the Star Wars action figures. Like Boba Fett, Max and Milia are prominent background characters, and everybody loves them, but the toy company isn't sure what to do with it. I remember the exclusive Boba-Fett mail in character. Everyone was sending in the Proof of purchase stamps to get it. I got one, but they probably got so bombarded with the mail ins, they decided to make it a regular purchasable figure. After that happened, they were all over every Toys R Us, Fedco, Best, etc. Then they disappear again, and everyone wants them. I have my old v.1 Max still, but sold the Milia. I'll wait for a reissue, and if they don't come, I'll save up for it eventually, but no rush.

I have to agree. I think based on the markers, and the windy trails that we've been given, somehow, this is some sort of fascination with an American rendition of these series that came on early, and from someone else. As for why she'd have a friend pose the question to people who have no vested interest in those questions, that makes no sense. The one thing that really dictates your raw data, is what group you pull from. In this case, there seems to be a sparse group, with no clear conclusion to the data.

You'd think it'd be more of a quiz asking how many Japanese users actually care about RT and HG. I'm sure that those that may actually know of them, probably don't care too much for it, save for Americans stationed there.

I don't think anyone really understands her intentions. I know I don't. Is it to bring over crap into Japan, and replace the good of the original series, or is it to simply attempt to inform us? Unfortunately, I just don't know. If it's to bring Robotech to Japan, I'm glad that's never going to happen. It's just become an abomination (yes, I said has become, as back in it's first airing, it was a reasonable way to get it over here). It makes you wonder how that could possibly happen. Did she fall in love with a U.S. soldier who liked Robotech, and that's how it happened? Maybe some America left copies of it in Japan, and it was like finding some abstract, rare thing, thus making it special? Who knows, and for that matter, does it really matter?

That head came out very well. Great work. Does it transform properly with the new head? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what did you use to build it? Again, great work. Very impressive.

I believe they both were. The VE-1 sold out quicker than the VT-1, as it seemed right after the VE-1 was gone from HLJ, it was gone from everywhere. The VT-1 was still around for a bit after, but not too long. They should re-release those, along with the VF-1J Max/Miriya.

Cancelling my order as well. Only need just a small amount of money so I can get a 19th century Samurai sword. Monies for these toys is getting way too high, and $300 is just too much. $200 is probably too much, so I think I'm finally going to draw the line. -
Got mine today, and I gotta say, this is a very beautiful looking toy. Of course, there's no telling how the metal to metal joints will hold, and I'm not going to put much stock into them staying sturdy, but this design looks great, and the little Alto figure that comes with it, is awesome. Got that, and the MF "Sayonara no Tsubasa" movie today. Very happy with it all.

Damn, I'm gone for 4 days, I come back, and we get a new incarnation of the thread, and a lot of different topics. I heard that on the new DVD documentary, there are some things that Tommy asked for, that really made it kinda a joke. I also heard that Richard Epar, who voices , Ben/Kakizaki and Lunk/Jim Austin, was titled as being the voice of General Reinhardt, who was actually voiced by Dan Worren. Don't remember where I heard this, but apparently this wrong information was supplied by Tommy, and they never changed it. Being that the documentary was done for awhile before the DVDs came out (in well enough time to edit it), what, or whom do you think Tommy will blame (aside from the fact that it's his fault)? There also seems to be a lot of news in the local RT podcasts about HG and Michael Bradley, well, not news, but misinformation. Interesting hearing Tommy lie, and the host manipulate things that people said. It must be so much of a chore to have to be such a whiny, manipulative suck-up, just to feel like you have a life because HG likes you. Good stuff, and I'm sure the RT staff at HG are thinking, "What or how much of our B.S. does he know?" Answer... enough, suckas!!!

So, in essence, he's a Robotech fan. I think all that reading just about puts him in that category, or at least in the fringe part of it. You put it very nicely, but I just had to quote out of principal. I'd ask for a rundown, but I'd hate for any person with a logical head to have to recall stupidity. I'm sure it's painful. Probably just a bunch of wanking each other while saying Robotech is cool to each other. I don't know how you do it, my brother, but you probably deserve an ice cold one for listening.

I haven't checked, but if they did, I wouldn't make anymore of it, other than "sour grapes". Macross has had two, count em', TWO full length, very well animated movies since what, 2009? Robotech has had 1 crappy low budget animated movie since 2006, even longer if you count the time that Alan Letz was going after the big distributor and couldn't hook it. Adding in the fact that Macross has manga, a full length series, toys, food products, posters, and scores of other products, I would be envious too, if I were a in the RT camp. What's sad, is that I used to be a fan of both. Macross fan first and foremost even as a kid, but I loved both. As much as I've tried to be a fan of both, I just can't be a fan of stupid franchises, so I can't support Robotech as it is now. Maybe I'll surf their website later to see where the degradation is at, at the moment. Maybe I'll have more quotes to post up.

Morons do pop up from time to time. It's not like it's anything new. As long as you don't feed he animals, they usually get bored, or ban themselves right out.

Are you saying Mikimoto does a "kiddie porn" style? I don't really get that at all, but I guess that's just a matter of opinion. You've done some really good pics though. I wouldn't say they are in Mikimoto style at all. They do have more of a 40s-50s retro look, or more of a Betty Page pin up style than anything. The coloring is nice, except the green Star Trek alien "Snookie" girl (couldn't resist). Meltran women have normal skin color. If anything, maybe a bit pale from not getting any sun.

It looks like the people raising their hands in that picture to people who look like they're just relaxing after walking around all day seems very roughly 50/50, meaning, your room is really half full. Out of the 50% their actually inside for the panel, maybe 20% are there because of someone they came with, not because they actually want to be there, and out of that same 50%, at least 20% of them are Macross fans over Robotech fans. I'm probably off, but probably not by much. I look back to the AX panel, and while a good portion were Robotech fans, they were Macross fans just the same, and just sat to listen to B.S. and silently ridicule the panel afterward. I know this cause I hung out with a good portion of them. Also, is it no surprise that there's no news for the Live action RT movie? We are talking about Robotech here.

Damn, that's awesome! Very nice work on your custom VF-1J. Looks like it took a good deal of time. Love the little added touches, like verniers on the backpack, and the extra decals.

I guess I could throw in Resident evil afterwards, and create a backstory for them mixing together, LOL. On a different, related subject, I know Kawamori did one of the jets in it. Anybody know of a link to get any line art of it?

So, if you don't press the triangle, it says you are dead because you don't raise your arm? Maybe just dead inside?

I smell troll.

In response to all this, I bring to you the TRUTH! How anime was really started, how Macross got started. From rt.com: Effin laughable.
-
Yeah, they were pirates, and it kinda explains where they get some weaponry from, which is like some arms dealer. Also, considering the age of the VF-1, that's probably a little more feasible, I guess. Even then though... In anycase, it looks like this kit doesn't need a whole lot of surface painting. I will definitely do a weathering job on this. Seems like mostly white paint, and giant decals.

Hmmm, yeah, it was kinda strange at times, having to be very tactful to some people, when all you really want to do is rip them a new one for such lame ideas. When I first heard they were using LLA, as a MOSPEADA fan myself, I was hoping that it was a joke. Fat chance for that. Then I thought, "Maybe they'll at least release the original with whatever they are doing", but I doubt that as well. You can find LLA on bittorrent sites around, and that's how I had to get it on my computer, and then on DVD. There's no subs, but you really don't need them. It's great music. If you didn't know, it seems like this short film chop job is going to be an animated version of the Robotech: Invasion comic, that takes place with the invasion force that has Lancer crash landing on earth. It seems like it's not going to be anything related to LLA, except for the taking of the animation. You gotta wonder what kinda thought process went through their heads with this? I mean, do you think they know that this was going to drive more fans away? I doubt a small project like this is going to equate to more fans, BUT, those that aren't happy with it, and the banning of people who disagree with it isn't gaining them either. That seems like losing fans.
-
I don' think that's the goal of the new project. Seems like they are simply using LLA to probably save on cost of animation. Although splicing old and new animation together just sounds like a stupid idea now. No, it doesn't sound, it is the stupidest idea I've heard of in a long time. As of now, they haven't mentioned anything about using new music, and from what has been said on rtx website, it appears HG spokeperson, Memo, is already saying that having "new music" isn't important, as they supposedly already have a library of old music to go with the old animation and old, outdated way of chopping animation together. As for the theory that LLA was going to be the project, I do remember hearing some fans wish and hope for something like that to happen. I thought it kinda strange that some fans would have such a lack of creativity, and such moronic notions, I thought HG would never go there. Then when Tommy pretty much gave it away, and we found out what was going on, it started making its rounds over a year ago. Oh, and you probably don't need to write a different post almost every 10 minutes. You may want to compose all your thoughts on one post. Just a suggestion.

That's one of the things I thought was a good idea with Macross II. SNS had an aircraft able to keep up and get the footage, and was designed specifically for their needs. The fact that it had a GERWALK mode was pretty good, too. It just doesn't seem feasible to have a news agency flying in, I guess what would be, a decommissioned fighter line. Not saying the kit isn't cool, cause it is, just a little odd.
