  1. Imagine if Apple decided to take an Apple II, and use just some of the parts for it in a "new computer, and because they want to honor Steve Jobs, they decide that they are going to follow in the tradition that started it all, and use the original OS. That's almost like what HG is doing with their lame idea.
  2. My latest project. I'm thinning the insides of it out now, and going to print this kit. Should get it in a couple weeks. I'm starting to make decals for it as well. Made it in 1/60 to go with the other Valks I have.
  3. Yep, why would someone make a Stick figure in ride armor from a gundam, when there's Megahouse, CMs, and Beagle that have already done that. Not only that, but much better. Poor, poor Gundam.
  4. It's a beautiful toy. I bought one late in the game, well after the issues of the shoulder were announced, and when I bought mine, I pretty much opened the box, looked at it, then put it back in the box, and it's been there ever since. I love it, just don't have space for display, so I may end up selling mine as well.
  5. Thanks for the link. I was away for awhile, and didn't get a chance to respond. Good stuff, but with all the bad reviews of the game from you guys, not sure I'll jump in on this.
  6. I am still into the show, and don't find it so formulaic. I think people use that little too much to give an excuse of why they aren't interested. I do get a little frustrated at the shift in tempo, but for most of my favorite shows, it's been like that. Writers need to get their bearings on where they need to go, and I certainly hope they do. I also hope the don't do the short breaks of not airing it. That is really frustrating.
  7. I actually just recently started watching this series. I catch it on weekends sometimes, but usually on the new episode day. It's pretty funny. I almost have to wonder how they come up with such strange storylines.
  8. The idea of winning was never the issue. It's just a matter of correcting the problem. Consider it fixed. I stopped keeping up with this game a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. does it actually have a release date yet, or is it being pushed back more?
  9. C'mon man, it shouldn't be that hard for you to figure this stuff out. You said Frontier failed miserably. Fact is, it did not. You made a false fact, plain and simple. If you have to try and validate making a false fact OK, you're simply wasting your own time.
  10. I was just waiting for someone to chime in on that, LOL. Winning!!!
  11. I understand what you're trying to do, but you're still trying to validate your opinion with a false fact that Frontier simply failed miserably. You maybe over-thinking the whole thing just to attempt to be right in your argument, but it still comes out the same. It's probably just the way you worded what you said that makes your statement wrong, i.e. making a comment of failing as fact. So, if you are qualifying your opinion based on that fact, well, you can come to the conclusion there. If you wanted to be a little clearer, you would say something like "I think the idea of duplicating and/or paying homages to original Macross failed miserably", then it would just be your opinion, and that's that. Sentence structure makes all the difference. Example: Let's eat Jim. Let's eat, Jim.
  12. Simply this statement here..."...and failing miserably." You wrote the first part of your sentence as opinion (which is fine), then created a fact based on your opinion (which is false). It's like me saying "Robotech sucks, and the entire series was a money pit." In any case, Macross Frontier isn't really the subject in here, unless you're going to attempt to lead in to a deep analysis of how it's so much worse than Robotech
  13. To answer your first question, to say that Macross is emulating Macross doesn't really make sense. Is it attempting to recapture its original elements? That's a more accurate portrayal. As far as your comment about it supposedly "failing miserably", your assessment is pretty damn far off. I don't know if you've looked at the internet, or read anything, but when a series spawns two full length movies, and more toys and product in 2 years than Robotech has done in 26, that isn't failure. I will say this, your comments of "Crappy Frontier" and "Failing miserably" sound like they are stemmed from 100% your opinion, and Zero fact.
  14. Got it. So, now it comes to mind, had this never come out, would this be the Robotech we might see in the future? If so, did they person who put this out actually help Robotech out? I know, way too many hypothetical questions there, but it raises some interesting what ifs.
  15. That Yellow is awesome. Congrats on a job well done. Now I know what to do with my Cy-Kill model kit.
  16. In reality, not everything is black and white, good and evil. I dunno, take for instance, a bee. A bee makes honey, helps pollenate flowers, etc. They do many things that benefit us without them knowing. However, if you get near a bee hive, and swat it with a bat and stand there, you're going to get messed up. Like most wars, it's all a matter of perspective, and what side you're on. Sometimes there is a right vs. wrong, sometimes it's religious differences, sometimes political views. What makes one force attack another is the difference in perspective. If you watch the t.v. series, or the movies from a different perspective, maybe you'll understand why the characters come to the conclusion to help the Vajra.
  17. Trying to analyze why they're going to price one thing higher than another is a moot point. The analysis isn't going to change the price, only let us all know that you don't know their reasoning anymore than the rest of us. There's many factors that go into it, and if they project wrong, they'll either not sell well, sell all of them, or be in their forecast of sales. To me, it looks fine, but doesn't have the WOW! factor. That makes the high price of it an easy pass for me. Maybe if they go on sale later on, I'll get one.but either way, I hope they dial the price of these toys, back a bit.
  18. Those definitely will help, but what will probably work almost as good, is simple fabric masks, like the ones you see at the hospital. Cheap, and easy to find, and will do the trick, especially if painting outside.
  19. That fiasco was nothing but drama. Someone puts up the treatment, it's up for a day or two, then down. HG obviously got worried about it, as they had some emergency podcast just to have Tommy deny writing it. Yet, in the same podcast, they said something about their legal department was going to look into it, which, if it was fake, why would they have legal look into it? Anyways, what was even funnier, was that the RT fantard group started coming up with all sorts of conspiracy theories right after. Things like angry RT fans wrote it, Macross fans trying to give RT a bad name wrote it, etc. Then it got more personalized, like Tom wrote it, then I wrote it, and on and on. I'm not really one to blindly call foul on something like that, but a certain fan-friend of Tommy's was telling me the same synopsis of the story well before that thing got leaked, so once I put one and one together, it became obvious Tommy was letting people read it, so, it's anyone's guess where it came from. I'm sure they've since that, have scratched that idea. In any case, I'm sure if you ask someone here, someone has it. I don't think I do, as it's been about 4 years since the issue, and from what I remember of it, it really isn't worth the time to read. I wouldn't worry too much, there's more comedy coming from HG and the loyal fantards, so I can pretty much guarantee more laughs coming your way.
  20. So, I was right. in my guesstimation of why Robotech has any importance to her. I'm probably not the only one who could've seen that, but a year and a half of psych courses will definitely make things like that easy to call out maybe? Onto the next subject, HG sucks! OK, back on track. So, why is it (and please give another reason other than they just aren't creative enough) that the best title Tommy can give for the next Robotech side $hit, is "Robotech: Love Live Alive"??? Really? Wait, Really?? I mean c'mon...REALLY??? Is Carl's, I mean, Tommy's vision that lacking in the creative bulge? Do they even know what the f!@# "Love Live Alive" actually means? IF the Genesis Climber Morsepedia (you know where that came from) music tribute was called "Love Live In Your Butt", would the new Robotech side project simply be called "Robobtech: Love Live in Your Butt"? It always enlightening to get a new bar setting for the term MORON. And leave it to a franchise that I used to think was pretty cool growing up, to set said proverbial bar. Hahaha, it's 0430 pst, and I'm IRL LOL (my daily use of the text shorts). In all this, it's pretty funny, seeing the yellow short bus with the RT fantards being driven right into an oncoming freight train of common sense. All the while, they're singing "My Time to Be a Star" and "We Will Win". Seriously, them in that short bus, and the freight train, who do you think is really going to win?
  21. I don't think anyone can dictate your opinion for you. You're gonna like what you're gonna like. Toy-wise, I like the Yamato because it's more line art accurate. As for what design, I like both equally, so there's no real either/or for me.
  22. It's kinda sad that the M & M sold so quickly, but never got re-released. I'm pretty sure it does have to do with the 1/48 sales. It takes me back to the Star Wars action figures. Like Boba Fett, Max and Milia are prominent background characters, and everybody loves them, but the toy company isn't sure what to do with it. I remember the exclusive Boba-Fett mail in character. Everyone was sending in the Proof of purchase stamps to get it. I got one, but they probably got so bombarded with the mail ins, they decided to make it a regular purchasable figure. After that happened, they were all over every Toys R Us, Fedco, Best, etc. Then they disappear again, and everyone wants them. I have my old v.1 Max still, but sold the Milia. I'll wait for a reissue, and if they don't come, I'll save up for it eventually, but no rush.
  23. I have to agree. I think based on the markers, and the windy trails that we've been given, somehow, this is some sort of fascination with an American rendition of these series that came on early, and from someone else. As for why she'd have a friend pose the question to people who have no vested interest in those questions, that makes no sense. The one thing that really dictates your raw data, is what group you pull from. In this case, there seems to be a sparse group, with no clear conclusion to the data.
  24. You'd think it'd be more of a quiz asking how many Japanese users actually care about RT and HG. I'm sure that those that may actually know of them, probably don't care too much for it, save for Americans stationed there.
  25. I don't think anyone really understands her intentions. I know I don't. Is it to bring over crap into Japan, and replace the good of the original series, or is it to simply attempt to inform us? Unfortunately, I just don't know. If it's to bring Robotech to Japan, I'm glad that's never going to happen. It's just become an abomination (yes, I said has become, as back in it's first airing, it was a reasonable way to get it over here). It makes you wonder how that could possibly happen. Did she fall in love with a U.S. soldier who liked Robotech, and that's how it happened? Maybe some America left copies of it in Japan, and it was like finding some abstract, rare thing, thus making it special? Who knows, and for that matter, does it really matter?
