  1. Tommy says that he never planned or intended to release a sequel to Shadow Chronicles in roughly 2 years after the release, but I know for a fact that he did. He denies that, and it's something that Kevin will defend, but Tommy had a two year plan for the release of the sequel. Yeah, how's that working out?
  2. I'm not that into that shade of grey they gave the 1S. Personally, I'd pick up a v.1 1/48 low-vis scheme for a 1/60 in a heartbeat. I'm still under the opinion that Yamato should get the license to do the Minmay guard, and redo the low-vis. I know there'd be a lot of people into getting those tow. Oh, and re-release the Max and Milia.
  3. Awesome stuff. Looks very accurate to what is on t.v. As for the question of pilot, no pilot, I thought it was a drone also, and the "cockpit" simply held all the flight, nav, and computer components.
  4. To answer your question, the movie has some new characters, most big boobed chicks in painted on outfits, and the guys are comic book bodied characters with painted on outfits. As for the mecha of the REF, it's all Mospeada and Mospeada based, and there's nothing original there. So are the Inbit. The only original designs, and as suspected, the worst of the designs, is the Haydonite characters and mecha. If you're a Robotech fan, and you see it for the first time, your first reaction is, "Wow, I can't believe I'm finally seeing this!" After it sets in what you saw, it's more like, "Wow, I can't believe they actually put that garbage out!" For those that still seem to like it, some like it just because i has mecha. The ones that actually like the story, and everything in it, well, not everyone has good taste, and some will simply like anything with a Robotech label on it.
  5. If you would like, I can send you the file, and if you want, maybe you or someone can put the pieces together, and do all the converting for that. I haven't tried doing any of that, and it's in .stl file format. Shoot me a pm. It's possible to make anything from these programs. Most of the work is in measuring and making things fit into place. Once an object is created, say for example, a box, it is solid. It is the creator that determines how thick you want the material to be. In this design, I'm going to make it 1mm-1.5mm thick, which is at, or above standard from the Yamato toys I've measured. Since some parts are a bit thin by nature, I'll bring those down to about .7 mm, which is still in range.
  6. Of course I would. I'm just happy that my 4 1/60 kits are coming in from HLJ. 1 of the A, S, and two of the J. Maybe a low-vis there.
  7. Imagine if Apple decided to take an Apple II, and use just some of the parts for it in a "new computer, and because they want to honor Steve Jobs, they decide that they are going to follow in the tradition that started it all, and use the original OS. That's almost like what HG is doing with their lame idea.
  8. My latest project. I'm thinning the insides of it out now, and going to print this kit. Should get it in a couple weeks. I'm starting to make decals for it as well. Made it in 1/60 to go with the other Valks I have.
  9. Yep, why would someone make a Stick figure in ride armor from a gundam, when there's Megahouse, CMs, and Beagle that have already done that. Not only that, but much better. Poor, poor Gundam.
  10. It's a beautiful toy. I bought one late in the game, well after the issues of the shoulder were announced, and when I bought mine, I pretty much opened the box, looked at it, then put it back in the box, and it's been there ever since. I love it, just don't have space for display, so I may end up selling mine as well.
  11. Thanks for the link. I was away for awhile, and didn't get a chance to respond. Good stuff, but with all the bad reviews of the game from you guys, not sure I'll jump in on this.
  12. I am still into the show, and don't find it so formulaic. I think people use that little too much to give an excuse of why they aren't interested. I do get a little frustrated at the shift in tempo, but for most of my favorite shows, it's been like that. Writers need to get their bearings on where they need to go, and I certainly hope they do. I also hope the don't do the short breaks of not airing it. That is really frustrating.
  13. I actually just recently started watching this series. I catch it on weekends sometimes, but usually on the new episode day. It's pretty funny. I almost have to wonder how they come up with such strange storylines.
  14. The idea of winning was never the issue. It's just a matter of correcting the problem. Consider it fixed. I stopped keeping up with this game a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. does it actually have a release date yet, or is it being pushed back more?
  15. C'mon man, it shouldn't be that hard for you to figure this stuff out. You said Frontier failed miserably. Fact is, it did not. You made a false fact, plain and simple. If you have to try and validate making a false fact OK, you're simply wasting your own time.
  16. I was just waiting for someone to chime in on that, LOL. Winning!!!
  17. I understand what you're trying to do, but you're still trying to validate your opinion with a false fact that Frontier simply failed miserably. You maybe over-thinking the whole thing just to attempt to be right in your argument, but it still comes out the same. It's probably just the way you worded what you said that makes your statement wrong, i.e. making a comment of failing as fact. So, if you are qualifying your opinion based on that fact, well, you can come to the conclusion there. If you wanted to be a little clearer, you would say something like "I think the idea of duplicating and/or paying homages to original Macross failed miserably", then it would just be your opinion, and that's that. Sentence structure makes all the difference. Example: Let's eat Jim. Let's eat, Jim.
  18. Simply this statement here..."...and failing miserably." You wrote the first part of your sentence as opinion (which is fine), then created a fact based on your opinion (which is false). It's like me saying "Robotech sucks, and the entire series was a money pit." In any case, Macross Frontier isn't really the subject in here, unless you're going to attempt to lead in to a deep analysis of how it's so much worse than Robotech
  19. To answer your first question, to say that Macross is emulating Macross doesn't really make sense. Is it attempting to recapture its original elements? That's a more accurate portrayal. As far as your comment about it supposedly "failing miserably", your assessment is pretty damn far off. I don't know if you've looked at the internet, or read anything, but when a series spawns two full length movies, and more toys and product in 2 years than Robotech has done in 26, that isn't failure. I will say this, your comments of "Crappy Frontier" and "Failing miserably" sound like they are stemmed from 100% your opinion, and Zero fact.
  20. Got it. So, now it comes to mind, had this never come out, would this be the Robotech we might see in the future? If so, did they person who put this out actually help Robotech out? I know, way too many hypothetical questions there, but it raises some interesting what ifs.
  21. That Yellow is awesome. Congrats on a job well done. Now I know what to do with my Cy-Kill model kit.
  22. In reality, not everything is black and white, good and evil. I dunno, take for instance, a bee. A bee makes honey, helps pollenate flowers, etc. They do many things that benefit us without them knowing. However, if you get near a bee hive, and swat it with a bat and stand there, you're going to get messed up. Like most wars, it's all a matter of perspective, and what side you're on. Sometimes there is a right vs. wrong, sometimes it's religious differences, sometimes political views. What makes one force attack another is the difference in perspective. If you watch the t.v. series, or the movies from a different perspective, maybe you'll understand why the characters come to the conclusion to help the Vajra.
  23. Trying to analyze why they're going to price one thing higher than another is a moot point. The analysis isn't going to change the price, only let us all know that you don't know their reasoning anymore than the rest of us. There's many factors that go into it, and if they project wrong, they'll either not sell well, sell all of them, or be in their forecast of sales. To me, it looks fine, but doesn't have the WOW! factor. That makes the high price of it an easy pass for me. Maybe if they go on sale later on, I'll get one.but either way, I hope they dial the price of these toys, back a bit.
  24. Those definitely will help, but what will probably work almost as good, is simple fabric masks, like the ones you see at the hospital. Cheap, and easy to find, and will do the trick, especially if painting outside.
  25. That fiasco was nothing but drama. Someone puts up the treatment, it's up for a day or two, then down. HG obviously got worried about it, as they had some emergency podcast just to have Tommy deny writing it. Yet, in the same podcast, they said something about their legal department was going to look into it, which, if it was fake, why would they have legal look into it? Anyways, what was even funnier, was that the RT fantard group started coming up with all sorts of conspiracy theories right after. Things like angry RT fans wrote it, Macross fans trying to give RT a bad name wrote it, etc. Then it got more personalized, like Tom wrote it, then I wrote it, and on and on. I'm not really one to blindly call foul on something like that, but a certain fan-friend of Tommy's was telling me the same synopsis of the story well before that thing got leaked, so once I put one and one together, it became obvious Tommy was letting people read it, so, it's anyone's guess where it came from. I'm sure they've since that, have scratched that idea. In any case, I'm sure if you ask someone here, someone has it. I don't think I do, as it's been about 4 years since the issue, and from what I remember of it, it really isn't worth the time to read. I wouldn't worry too much, there's more comedy coming from HG and the loyal fantards, so I can pretty much guarantee more laughs coming your way.
