Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
Devil 505 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There's also the modern issue of political correctness. -
It's okay. It took me ages to say "Jenius" instead of "Sterling," and "variable fighter" instead of "veritech."

I have one more question that's been bugging me ever since I got into Macross (via Robotech). Is there any valid explanation behind the giant tuna? Also, how in the world did Hikaru even manage to survive outside?

Not to mention various gun kills from the Israeli Air Force since then. Even to this day, they still value the gun in air-to-air combat. -

Has anyone else heard of Roundabout? Judging by the trailer, and some gameplay videos, It looks hilarious, in a stupid, cheesy sort of way.- 6831 replies

I actually have a question regarding Macross VF-X2. Did they ever say if Aegis Focker was related to Roy or not?

Sprey is the same one who said that an M61 Vulcan was useless as a cannon because it took time for it to wind up compared to a revolver cannon like the M39 or the Mauser BK 27. In my opinion, he's just as credible as Carlo Kopp, who claims that the F-111 Aardvark was superior to the F-35. -
If I remember what they said during the Robotech Academy Kickstarter correctly, they said that Latin America has the largest Robotech following outside the U.S.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

Was I the only one hoping that Prince would show up in a later episode? -
Let's see now, some of my guilty pleasures... As seen by my avatar, I'm into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and I thoroughly enjoyed Macross 7. As mentioned in another thread, I'm also into the anime Rail Wars! I'm finding myself being dragged back into the Sonic fandom, mainly because of the upcoming Sonic Boom TV show, as well as the comic series having undergone a continuity reboot. Finally, I've found myself playing Robotech: Battlecry again, if only because it's the closest I'll ever get to playing the Macross VFX games or Macross 30.

Not to that point. There is a harem subplot, though. -

That's the problem with sarcasm and satire on the Internet, and the reason why so many people take The Onion seriously. Speaking of which, if it was a sci-fi movie, The Onion Movie would rank up on this thread as one of the worst. Back to the subject at hand: HAL 9000 is totally a ripoff of Sharon Apple! I know. I was actually debating whether or not to use that GIF of Matt Smith saying "Never apply logic to Who" instead.- 854 replies

My current guilty pleasure right now is Rail Wars! As a railfan, I can apprecaite the attention to detail when it comes to Japan's railways. Unfortunely, most of the series is blatant fanservice. -
What about some of those souped-up customs from Macross the Ride? Most of them are already faster than stock VFs.

Devil 505 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm assuming that's the Macross equivelant of saying "Wibbly-Wobbly-Timey-Wimey." Also, the first Yukikaze short story came out in 1979, but I realize I'm getting off-topic here.- 854 replies

Ace Combat came out in 1995 (or 1992 if you count the Air Combat arcade game). VFX came out in 1997.- 854 replies

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time II: The Quickening
Devil 505 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Honestly, I saw more inspiration taken from Sentou Yousei Yukikaze than Macross Plus at first glance. The Talon jets that they flew, however, were clearly a knockoff of the X-02 Wyvern from the Ace Combat games.- 854 replies
