  1. Spoiler Alert: I noticed that the Metal Gear Sahelanthropus bears quite a bit of similarities to a few variable fighters. Its ability to assume a more upright form seems quite similar to the Variable Glaug from Macross M3, as well as the VB-6 König Monster.
  2. For me, it's a tie between the SV-52γ Oryol from Macross the Ride, and the VF-25 Messiah in general.
  3. Next thing you know, HG will sue NASA.
  4. I got Alto's VF-25F last Christmas, although due to shipping issues, I didn't receive it until after the New Year.
  5. It can't be worse than a Vocaloid.
  6. The Dark Brotherhood?
  7. Season 5 is coming this spring, and the comic book spinoffs are still ongoing.
  8. They have a thread on it in the "Southern Macrosspeada" section of their forums. It's been up around the same time as this thrrad, but no replies so far.
  9. There was Project Pluto, the nuclear ramjet-powered cruise missile. As for the Nuclear-powered bomber, there was the direct-cycle engine, which also left radioactive exhaust, and the indirect cycle engine, which uses the heat from the reactor. Either way, you would still be dealing with spent nuclear waste sooner or later.
  10. I guess the key term is classic Pontiac, since I've had a few bad experiences with my mother's Aztek, but I digress. The thing to note here is that the NB-36H used for the nuclear-powered bomber tests used a traditional fission reactor, which will always leave radioactive waste, as opposed to the proposed fusion reactor.
  11. The same principle applies to the Tu-22 Blinder's conversion to the Tu-22M Backfire. Unfortunately, the closest I can find is the YVF-14 "Tigercat," HG's answer to the VF-0 when it comes to variable fighter veritech development.
  12. I'm surprised the KF-X is still ongoing after the RoKAF selected the F-35.
  13. Actually, I believe they did manage to acquire some spare parts back in the '80s, as part of the Iran-Contra scandal. Also, it is known that Iran looked to the Soviets at one point for technical assistance, with at least one Tomcat ending up in Russian hands.
  14. It's the VF-3000 Crusader. It was featured in the game Macross M3 which starred Max, Milia, and their adopted daughter, Moaramia.
  15. I could probably go even further than that.
  16. You can blame Iran for that one. The U.S. didn't want any spare parts to fall into their hands.
  17. The Robotech/Voltron crossover. I guess that's also why the AMARC boneyard is in Arizona. The dry desert air keeps all the spare planes and parts well-preserved.
  18. It makes you wonder how Iran still has its Tomcats in service.
  19. I just thought I'd revive this thread with a pic of Ishtar from Mikimoto.
  20. I could've sworn Macross Frontier had some Aquarion-inspired elements in it, at least according to TVTropes.
  21. From what I've seen, the X-32's intake was part of its downfall when it came to vertical landings.
  22. Don't forget the Tornado GR4.
  23. For me, it's a tie between the Variable Glaug and the König Monster for best GERWALK mode.
