  1. on my car forum i wanted to imitate the logo of an infamous and huge japanese club. the japanese car used is dfferent then the US one so i had to make some changes for my banner. thread here: http://www.protege5.com/vbb230/showthread....&threadid=31950 so i was sitting here bored and dug up an old picture to mess with =D
  2. so its just average huh? dammit.... well, at least i wont be going in with high hopes like once upon a time in mexico, lol.
  3. wow, those look really good. just apply em onto a test alpha with before and after pics and watch those sales come rolling in
  4. 1/55 is King! great work mike, keep the 1/55s flying offa the assembly line. you can always attach pictures here and just post them directly. they will be bigger than the ones in your album i like your front gear as it resembles the lineart more. what did you do to the back landing gears? are they swapped in from another model or is the metal door on the front of them chopped off? cant see it in the pics.
  5. you can try slimming it down to be more accurate to lineart. than its kinda your own creation. that 1D head is like the stock 1A head. both of em are big and clunky. it needs to be sleeker like what rob did to his 1A head g/luck =D
  6. looks like the green was added, panels, and then a matte coat. looks much better than the stock toy. somone should try it out on an extra 1/48 =D
  7. damn all... you can try looking online and researching and then if nothing turns up you can ask here. Don't get somone else's advice especially when you have your own specific requirements for modchips. on my car forums they are much meaner than over here and they would go nuts, lol. g/luck in the mod-chip hunt!
  8. listen to esta, he's the man in htis kinda stuff. i remember he was all into this, what was it?, a year ago? he linked me to all the things he is linking t you here. he's done the research!
  9. m66-hey theres somone else who owns one! those are hard to come by. pfunk-where did you get that avator? are you a member of the protege5.com forum? reason is moos moos took a still picture of that and then linuxracer modified it into a moving gif. just wondering where you found that. =D
  10. check the mw con 3 threads. there should be a picture of it there.
  11. thats were they went. you deleted them from your webspace...i was tryign to find them for that one "any customs websties" thread. you gotta make that valkyrie skunkworks thing. stat!
  12. that piece was machined down by fulcy and then plugged and sanded with epoxy putty by me =D
  13. for hands mr. tony yao (xstoys) has a pair of mystery hands that are almost completely poseable and fit perfectly for a 1/55. they can actually fit back into the arm. no more monster-big sazabi hands =D no one seems to know where the hands came from though they look gundam-ish in style. thanks again for all the props
  14. yeha, the heatshield should be white. just look at the toynami mpc, lol. they sell those strips at any good hobby store. just ask =D
  15. hey sup man- umm, i dunno how hard it would be for others. for me it was moderately difficult. you have to cut the stock arm, glue it together, get rid of the seam, rescribe the panel line. cut the stock hand, modify the other side, add in joint or whatever. then you have to make custom hinges and drill correctly so it can open and close and is symmetrical. hmmm, lol. i guess it was fairly hard...especially if you want the gap in the opening door on the arm to be hair thin
  16. "powered by pho" lol you have to go to hobby shops and buy metal strips. than you bend it and drill it, that's how the japanese dude did his. don't use plastic, even abs plastic at that thickness would be weak.
  17. lookin nice! much much better than my first repaint which was a g1 ratchet to black. i've responded to your email =D
  18. here is the prototype arm. hopefully these pictures will make transformation more clear edit in-dammit, just realized i drew some of the arrows wrong. the arrow showing the hand roatation should be going the other way. commander-this was only at mw con 3, not at otakon. take care.
  19. here is a closeup of them in rotation. like a 1/48 you rotate the hand when transforming it to battroid. its in need of poseable hands now but you can see the ball joint encorporated for a rotateable wrist. excuse the messiness, it still needs to be cleaned up on the inside
  20. alright so what the hell are tony yao style 1/48 arms?? here are some pics. if you were lucky enough to attend the 3rd con ytou saw tony's monster 1/55 1D. these arms were first designed and incorporated by him in the picture below you can see in fighter the hands are enclosed
  21. thanks all. i really appreciate the critiques and honesty whenever i post any of my customs. i have a list of mods but am too lazy to type it up...ahhhhh, what the hell. im waiting for "once upon a time in mexico" to start anyways: -hasegawa pilots with custom minmay -hasegawa style custom booster antennae -hasegawa style paintjob -custom rob beers clear canopy w/magnets to snap into place -custom head (new fin and rotateable antennae) -fulcy hips and feet -fulcy grinded down hip bar (*look at how smaller and sleeker it is, you rock rob!) -seamless boosters -seamless nose -lowered nosecone lights -mix n match of RoLo and mike salzo resin ostrich kit -tony yao 1/48 style arms (pics tomorrow) -anasazi decals -WAVE round verniers yeah, it sucks to see customs dying. i want to see more! just trying to keep the spirit of the golden age of macrossworld alive =D i love seeing customs because they are so damn inspiring. all you lurkers, post em up! after this its time to rework skyfire and finsih the joke gbp edit in- the owner of this and the elint is mw's Estacado
