the transformation guide picture was my prototype. you can see there is a gap when the hands are rotated in. its on the bottom. on the one i used for the ostrich the gap has been fully reduced and the entire hand area in the arm is blocked off in fighter. and thanks for the props. you got some nice original stuff yourself =D

the arm mods are xstoys!!!! he did it first!!!!! just want to make that clear =D if you look very closely at that 1D you will see many things amiss. the mods are subtle and beautifully done so it doesn't look too modified. but that thing is a damn monster. the chestplate alone would have taken me months to do.

and how were you going to activate the lights again? all that and not even one pic? heh, now im just teasing ya. jas-for the decals i just did the standard formula. paint, high gloss, decals, , high gloss, matte. on the legs i tried a decal softner to make the "UN SPACY" recess into all the cracks but anasazi' clear coat prevented the decals from softening. or i'm using the softenr wrong, lol.

takatoys is erick =D the molds are proefessionally done as in they are made out of metal! on jerry's old site there were some other customs he did with prototypes of the cockpit he eventually designed and settled with. ken, i do agree with you. but part of the fun for me personally IS all the effort put into customizing. it like those crazy guys who put in 20k to turn a corrolla gts into a ae86 instead of just going out and buying a better car with all that cash. Either they enjoy doing the mods and putting in the sweat or they are just initial D hardcore fans =P tony, i know your reading this. i know "1/55 mods" in the topic caught your eye. post some words, or better yet pics. and thank you again for the help on my car, hope you finished your real work ok.

hmm, if you want to go thinner may as well just make a whole new custom piece...if you want it like credit card thin no amount of epoxy will keep that from snapping. what do you mean panel decals in your PM? on the wings? the paneling was done with a pencil...the rest is anasazi's decals.

what are you using to grind? dremel or heavy duty machinery? on the one's fulcy did for me i had to fill in the blank spaces with epoxy, its on my ostrich...page2 has a arm mod i stole from xstoys from the yamato 1/48: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...&f=4&t=1099&hl= on the one i did myself with the dremel i did not shave it down enough to require any filling. and rob does not make any 1/55 pilots. people moslty use hasegawa's or Jung's

crap, we should get xstoys to post. he basically modifed EVERYTHING on a 1/55. all our stuff is child's play it is just sick.

tony dude, start a thread. post some of your stuff up at high res, multiple angles, describe all the features. hell MW might as well just have a "xstoys" section right underneath models n toys. it'll start a 1/55 craze =D and thanks sean, appreciate the words, but i am still a beginner with much to learn

wow, i cant beleive i havn't commented yet. i own 2 1/60's which i have only transformed once. no 1/48s. i must say that i am one of the fiercest supporters of 1/55s here. its that nostalgia. and with work they can look DAMN GOOD. just look at xstoys's stuff =D

yeah, i saw i've seen it at a lot of hobby shops. if it is this kind of super glue you are in luck

convertors kick ass!!! i got a mini collection of those going on. i remmeber back in the day i used to buy those at pic and save (now big lots). if anyone has any of those weird bird, insect, etc.. ones that they want to sell i would be glad to buy it if i don't have it =D

long live the "cool thread" section. but way way way toomany people abused it to bump up their post counts and post some really really irrelevant stuff that could be talked about on other forums. i kinda miss it but would rahter have a faster MW.

nice work. damn though....it takes me months and months to do one. probably cuz i can only work on it on the weekends. a darker blue is actually more show accurate. but i got my lighter paint from Rick the hunter because he had half a can left. he used a lighter color so the decals would show more.

nope. chris's heads are actually cleaned up version of custom head made by somone from hong kong. the chris 1A is "fatter" than the stock 1A head when you look at it face first. and the antennae is a lot longer. g/luck on the rest

reissues have different neck mounts. if you use chris 1s, 1a, or 1d heads on a reissue you will have similar problems. chris's heads were deisn'ed for jetfires. you can swap in a jetfire neck mount or sand away! and yeah, rob's head is waaaaaaayyyyy better than the fatty chris head. even the stock head looks better than that one, only thing it has going for it is the longer antennae

keep it up! MPC style legs? (rotates at the thigh) keep the 1/55s customs alive! i know others are hard at work on their customs too..please post when done =D

1/55! =D forget accuracy forget detail for me its all about nostalgia and toughness. the 1/55 is probably the most durable of all the toy valkyries.

just saw it with the gf..she loved it. i thought some parts were very confusing. but it was ok. much better than 28 days. and now 2 movies to theater hop to, texas chainsaw and gothika.

that first picture of a valkyrie in mid-transformation is awesome. can the person who came up with it give a shout here? i dont think i've ever seen a valkyrie posed like that

very cool!! i agree with those against the crap subtitlers who do it for profit. they make crappy translations just so they can say there are english subtitles and sell more bootlegs =(
