Oh man is Moehime run by the same people as NY? If so, I'm definitely not going to order anything from them, ever.
-
Damn that looks sooooo good! Easily on par with the Arcadia version, if not better!

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Made my last payment in Dec 2022 and finally delivered Sept 2023. It's gonna be a multi day effort to assemble them and then set up all my many valks. Yeah it was a long wait. One reviewer on Youtube said he waited a year and a half. So I guess 9 months isn't too bad by comparison. I'll probably have to pick up some more because I don't think there's enough space in what I've purchased for more valks. -
Ah a spamburger lover I see.

Your VF-0S and YF-19 look great!

Moducases finally arrived. They didn't come with any instructions so it took a bit to figure out how to assemble them. 1/4 of the way through... -
Awesome! Dammit Bandai where's that TV SDF-1 you teased?
-
Never hurts to experiment a bit. It's a much more creative process than just copying poses from the TV show. 😁

The only reason I'm even entertaining getting them is because of the yen being at it's lowest in like 40 years. If we were back at around 100 or 110 yen to the dollar (or worse), it would be a hard pass for me. Who knows that the exchange rate will be by next summer.

I really regret not getting multiples of the PF 0D. Curse my penny pinching ways!
-
Gotta love it when Bandai makes their already-a-PITA-to-get toys even harder to get.

The thermometer is the least of the 31AX's problems.

That made me chuckle IRL. The renewals were a breath of fresh air when they first came out over a decade ago, on the heels of the awful original line of Frontier toys. But they have not aged well and are pretty dated compared to what we've gotten from the Delta line and from Arcadia, QC foibles notwithstanding. *cough31AXcough* Whereas the Yamato V2 VF-1 came out 15 years ago and I still consider them the gold standard for the VF-1. Sure, Bandai's DX VF-1 is a great toy and surpasses Yamato's in some areas, but it also falls short in others. So it's kind of a wash there.

Looks good to me!

As someone who has purchased nearly every Sheryl & Ranka figure ever produced, even I have to balk at those prices. Same release month too, so you'd have to pay for both at once. They look great, but at that price... I'll wait and see if the yen plummets any further first.

Wasn't that a pre-renewal TWE item? Don't think Bandai is that generous or going to reach that far back for these Frontier reissues. That packaging was just plain shoddy. It was the usual crappy styrofoam tray with cardboard lid taped on, and the YF-19's head laser poking directly into that cardboard lid. Unlike the 25G the 19's head laser doesn't sit flat and flush with the fuselage. So the only thing protecting the laser from getting smashed is a cardboard lid and an even thinner sheet of cardboard over it (the outer box). Bandai figured boxes never ever get manhandled during shipping and that was sufficient protection for the hard plastic head laser. No need for any sort of padding/protection or leaving any space inside for the head laser.

0D is the first HMR valk I've bought where I didn't feel like I got ripped off by Bandai.

Gonna need a bigger suitcase!

Same. A lot of people dislike spam for some reason. It's what I imagine the residents of Macross had to eat on their long voyage home.

Yellowed but still fantastic!

When Gundam fans design Macross toys...

Chest stripes are still painted wrong.

Great shot! Kinda makes me think of the YF-19 and YF-21 near the end of Macross Plus.
